- clean room - no hair dryer for 3 days, asked 3 times - insufficient bath soap - often no wash cloth - very poor waiter/waitress service in the buffet and the daily grill - often help ourselves with cups, water, spoon/fork, etc - staff often ignore request in buffet, especially at breakfast - seem understaff - many days no ice cream - coffee service was poor - hotel is very nice/grounds

Resort grounds are nicely laid out everything is within easy walking distance resort is clean beach is a lttle rocky with sandy and shady areas food and service in restautants was better than in buffet . Room was good size and bed was very comfortable walking distance to mambo beach and easy acces to town liked the guest entertainment like the trumpet player need more of that need to improve service in buffet

Zoetry Curacao Resort and Spa: Disappointing Hotel Experience Overshadowed Curacao

While this hotel is rated as a 4-Star resort it does not live up to a persons expectations of a 4-Star hotel experience. Firstly, upon arrival at 14:30 our room was not ready when we checked in. We waited in the lobby for roughly an hour being told consistently that the room would be ready in 5 minutes. Part of the reason we booked the Floris was because on the Air Canada vacations website it was indicated a breakfast buffet was included. We found out on arrival that breakfast was an added  [... read more]charge. This was not a good first impression. Secondly, the room originally assigned to us was on the lower floor overlooking the pool, all was fine with the room until we woke up the next morning. The floor and our luggage was covered in bugs that had crawled in from somewhere during the night. We tried sweeping the bugs outside but couldn't open our patio because that would have allowed the feral cat family living on our deck into our room. We asked to switch rooms which the hotel accommodated but took over 1.5 hours to confirm the room change causing us to change our scheduled plans for the day. Thirdly, the house keeping was spoty. We either got no towels some days or to many towls other days. One day during our stay we had left the hotel at 7:30 and returned at 16:00. During those 8.5 hours no one had cleaned our room. When house keeping did arrive at 16:45 they seemed annoyed with us that we still wanted our room cleaned and didn't refuse service. Fourthly, we partially chose the Floris Hotel based on the positive reviews we read about the friendliness of the staff. Overall we found staff (other than management) were annoyed to deal with our issues and we felt as though we were a burden to them. Finally, we had to go to the Hilton Resort across the street to book any excursions. In order to use the phones at the Floris to make local calls, the hotel was going to charge $30.00 USD to your final room bill. The Hilton staff were friendly and accommodating when we asked to make a quick call. They informed us it only cost $1.00 to make a local call but they agreed to waive the charge. Overall, my girlfriend and I felt we had been cheated. We were sold a modern and clean 4-Star resort with amenities. Instead we got an aged hotel with mosquitoes, cockroaches, wild cats and unfriendly service.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Awesome vacation

My husband & I traveled with 3 other couples during April 2 to April 9, 2017 and we all had an amazing time! The staff were extremely friendly, the room and the resort grounds were beautiful. My favorite was the beach., the turquoise water was stunning., so we spent a lot of time in the ocean as the water was so beautiful…I was first concerned about the break wall in pictures I seem, but once you are there, glad it was their because of the waves. Great Snorkeling as well. The food was very g [... read more]ood at the buffet, my favorite a la carte was the Blue Water Grill. The weekly Bar B Q on the beach was also fantastic and very organized. Every time I went to the CoCo Café, Yvonne always greeted me with her warm smile, and pleasant conversation, I already miss her. We did a private tour, and went to the Curacao Distillery, The Hato Caves and the Blow Hole as well as few private beaches which was breath taking. I tried Iguana soup ! It was not terrible, taste like chicken lol. We decided as a group that we wanted to experience the different parts of the island and had a blast with our tour guides who made the experience well worth it. We also enjoyed taking the city bus into Willemstad and did some shopping, and sightseeing the floating market and the swing bridge were nice to see. Overall I miss this place, and will definetly be back !! Best vacation

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Awsome snorkeling right off the beach!

We stayed at Sunscape April 21-28th. We enjoyed our stay but feel there is room for improvement at this resort. We stayed at the Sunclub and feel this was an afterthought with this resort. Sunclub is at the far end of the resort with a private pool and beach, yet everyone seamed to use it. There is no washroom at the pool so it's back to the room or there is a washroom half way back to the front desk. Kenneth the bar tender was the bright spot at the pool, always ready with a drink and friendly  [... read more]conversation. The down side is the poor man is set up at a makeshift bar, no blender. Our room was good and the air conditioning worked well. Maribel the maid did a fine job keeping the room neat and tidy. We found the staff very friendly. We would recommend the bluewater grill, we ate there a lot. There is a lunch BBQ at the bluewater Saturdays. Would like to see this a few more times during the week. The beach is good and there is a stone break wall the length of the beach which provides some awesome snorkeling. Coral is trying to establish it self on the breakwall but to many people standing on it and touching it is making it difficult. Some education for the visitors and this asset would be even better. We totally enjoyed willemstad and Mambo beach is a 5 minute walk from the resort. It has many shops, a bar, starbucks and rocks on Saturday nights.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Awesome resort, sunclub was worth it

We really enjoyed our stay at the sunscape resort Curacao. The food at the a la cartes was amazing, the buffet was ok maybe needed more selection but the food that was there was good. The pools were nice and the bars had premium alcohol which was a nice touch. All in all we enjoyed our stay here, we upgraded to the sun club and we felt it was totally worth the money!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: beach was beautiful

resort is actually dated, needs maintenance , a bit run down to say the least, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, staff are very friendly , very helpful, polite, line ups at restaurants are long, service at buffet is very slow waiting on coffee, water, etc.. food is okay. average nothing really bad but certainly not what we expected, pictures on website are not what you see if it wasn't for the beautiful beach and friendly staff this is a 3 star not a 4.

Kunuku Aqua Resort: Paradise

This was a beautiful setting for a week away....It is always sunny and hot with a breeze to keep the bugs away... Definitely a great place for a family getaway....We loved the balcony that could be used at any time because it had lights so you could sit outside at night and read.....It is also a very humid climate so be prepared to pack fewer clothes because you won't need them....sunscreen, hat and bathing suit ...We rented a car at the resort and were able to travel to beaches as the resort is [... read more] not on the water...This was very nice just to have a variety of activities....Highly recommend this resort for a holiday...

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Sunshine every day

First impressions driving into the property was underwhelming. It wasnt made any better when we got oof the bus and told to enter their "conference centre". to register and get our room info. The entrance of the conference centre is dull and dingy looking. Hasnt seen a coat of paint for years and all in all grubby. Two tables and two employees took your name and gave you an envelope with your room number. From there you can collect your luggage or get a porter to take it to your room. You p [... read more]ass the small entrance to the very small casino into the next entrance which is the lobby of the resort. Lobby is open to the main area of the resort with its pools and restaurants. Our room block was an old building with purple doors . Small entrance to room which was large and nicely furnished. The bed was a King and a half. There was a flat screen tv and a dresser with a coffee maker,small fridge filled with beer, soft drinks and water. There is a sofa in the room and a small table with a chair. Patio door to the small patio outside . Bathroom was a huge let down. Old in dire need of an update. There is a hair dryer but only worked on low, so it takes ages to blow dry your hair. There is also an ironing board and iron in the entrance closet. The small safe on the wall in our room needed maintenance to come in and fiddle about with to get it open on a few occasions as did the toilet which was old and the tank need either our or when we could get maintainance to come by to stop the water constantly running from the tank. Our air conditioning was not working when we arrived which added to the musty smell in the room but they did eventually get it working the day after our arrival. Daily maid service wasnt done till around 5pm just when you want to start getting ready for dinner after a day on the beach. We did ask reception to please ask housekeeping to have it done earlier in the day and after that it was done earlier. We could have asked for a room in one of the newer towers but the trade off was our patio was right on the beach,so we kept the room with its little irritants. Food was surprisingly better than expected after reading prior reviews. Service is ok but you have to wait ages to actually get the food. We felt the whole resort was understaffed from the restaurants to the housekeeping services. Management has to get their act together. Least favourite restaurant was the seafood one on the beach. Lovely setting but the food was under par and cold. Best restaurant was either the Italian or the Japanese. Entertainment was poor except for two nights when they had a 'carnival parade' and the other a troupe of 5 dancers came in to show us some cultural dances. The other evenings it was audience participation reality stuff. Boring. Beach was nice and sandy but take water shoes as lots of rocks in the water. Not enough shade on the beach so lots of chairs under the few trees and palapa's that were there. Lovely breeze though . Beaches are not long so no long walks on the beach. Being an island there are lots of small bays and coves to explore away from the resort . Bus outside the resort to Willemstad is either 1.50 or 2 dollars US depending on the driver . Its about a 10-15 min ride into town. The buses are mini vans and we had no trouble taking the bus . The drivers and other passengers were always polite and helpful. You can turn right out of the resort and walk about 5 mins to a small shopping precinct with restaurants and walk downstairs to Mambo beach which is longer and wider than the resort beach . You pay for loungers on this beach. The Aquarium is just a few mins further on . There is an ATM outside the lobby by the Casino but it costs 5 US dollars to get money from it and it doesnt take RBC debit cars and does not take Visa. The best place to use your RBC bank cards or Visa is in Willemstad. You will need cash only for the bus. Most ATM's around only take Mastercard or a Cirrus debit card. Check out is 12 noon but we asked a few days before we left for a late checkout which is at 1pm. They were able to do that for us. So ask.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: very nice place

we have done many carribean all inclusives and i would say i loved curacao the most!! We stayed in the newer section and room were big beautiful and clean! cleaning ladies should come earlier tho! food was great but service was very slow for drinks wine etc. all the al a carts were good but steakhouse was slower than slow 2hrs for a steak that was bloody when we asked for well done!! Sunscape Curacao Resort: Will return to Sunscape Curacao

My husband and I and our 18 yr old daughter and 16 yr old son stayed at Sunscape Mar 31 to Apr 7, 2017. We booked side by side oceanfront rooms for ourselves and the kids. When we arrived we were on the 5th floor, ocean front, side by side as requested. However our air conditioner wasn't working. We did get placed in another oceanfront room, ground floor (even nicer room than original!!!) they offered for the kids to move into the room beside us but in only had a twin bed & pull out couch.  [... read more]- they opted to stay put on the 5th floor. (note, we did not go to casino as that isn't just our thing) Amazing snorkeling each day right at the resort. We arranged, before we left Canada, a private tour of the island (as we wanted to see what WE wanted to see on our own timetable) through "Around Curacao Tours" with Andy Rolfast. website is www.privatecuracaotours.com He came highly recommended and I want to add to this recommendation. Andy made possible all the spots we wanted to see (especially snorkelling with turtles by Fisherman's Warf) and shared his knowledge and experience of the island (an old fort, quarentine building, stopping for iquana soup, driving through affluent and not so affluent neighbourhoods, Willamstad, stopping to see flamingos etc. etc. Anywhere we wanted to stay longer, or anything we wanted to skip seeing was just fine with him. He made the day so much fun while providing us with an understanding of the islands' education, industry, health services, history etc. He has an amazing sense of humor - you will not be disappointed on your personal tour, I guarantee it. That was the best day for us on the island. We have stayed at newer, more luxurious and larger resorts with larger beachfront, perfectly manicured etc. etc. However the hotel staff were so welcoming, great a la cart restaurants, lunch bbq's on the beach & entertainment staff made this a place we would return to. The staff were so friendly and eager to help, and not at all resentful for having to be at work (as we have experienced in Mexico, the Dominican and Cuba). A shout out to Norma at the pool bar who made everyone feel special and the Lobby bar staff who put up with some very snooty people. Thank you to the Entertainment Staff - Prince, Leo, Johnny Rocket, Nick....sorry if I am forgetting anyone. The "carnival night" at the resort was the best!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Awesome Resort!!!

We went to Sunscape with 3 other couples. The resort was very clean and our room was nice. We had to call each time to get our fridge re-stocked but other than that it was really clean and the air conditioning was working well. The staff at Sunscape was very friendly and helpful. It would help I think to have a few more people working behind the bar at the pool to move the line along a little quicker but other than that it was great. The drinks they would make for you were just great!!! The [... read more] beach was really nice as you could go in every day because of the break wall in the water to cut back on the waves. Overall a great experience and would go back in a heart beat!!!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Easy to get around

The resort is small which made getting around quick and easy. It was a short walk to all amenities. You can see the bottom of the ocean and the colour of the water is breath taking. One evening the resort ran out of propane and dinner was delayed by an hour. It would have been nice to be told as we sat wondering what was taking so long. The food was delicious so it was worth the wait. The employees were always smiling and we learned a new word of the day.

very nice and clean we had a nice time at times services was very slow but overall was ok. the beach was clean and if you like snorkeling is good. the 4 restaurants the food was good the staff try hard to serve you

Sandals Royal Curacao: Quiet serene resort

We enjoyed its beauty and activities offered. Staff were very happy and friendly, eager to please. Being at the south east end of the island, we were a long way to join day trips and excursions. Gorgeous golf course! Little beach to walk on as it is a rocky shoreline.

Sandals Royal Curacao: Stunning place

Amazing place. Clean,friendly, professional great service. Food was good but would have preferred buffet with children as they were fussing over a la carte dinning. Golf and tennis was amazing and great value with kids being free. Love this place. It was quite just like we like it.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Nice little resort!

We enjoyed the hotel and had a great week! The snorkeling was great right at the resort and consider this a great plus for the resort! My suggestion would to provide a lot more umbrellas as there is definitely not enough and I think would make a big improvement and positive feedback from clients. We enjoyed going into the pretty little city of Willemstad and wandering around as it was just a short taxi ride! Kunuku Aqua Resort: Average resort

Resort was clean with an average size swimming pool. Food was ok with repetition of same dishes. Limited fruit and snacks between meals. Service is mediocre with long waiting to get a refreshment. Call reception and ask for porter to collect our values and was told that no service is provided. Hope this short note sheds some light for others planning a vacation at this resort.

This resort was really nice. Wasn't very big but I enjoyed that. Was not a party resort by any means which I quite enjoyed. Food was great lots of variety. Beach was the best part! Would definitely go back again!!
