Bahia Principe

Food was great and the staff were friendly defiantly would go back. It is more of a relaxing spot but if you are looking to party one of the other resorts attacked to the chain has a 18 plus pool. Amazing beach to swim or walk.

Beyond ones Expectations

The hotel and staff were outstanding. They attended to every need and would not tell you it was not available for any enquiry or need we had. The food was very delicious and there was a wide variety to choose from. With all al-a-carts available there was no reason whatsoever for anyone to go hungry. The buffets were fabulous and it you wanted something different the chef was there to cook it for you. Overall just a fabulous hotel and that made it a worth while vacation and we would not hesitate to return or recommend to others. A five star in our eyes.

Fantastic Resort, Fantastic Time

First time for my sons and I visiting this resort and after what seemed like an incredibly long hockey season (and it was) we were all excited too get away. Once we arrived at the resort (and en-route) service was hands down top notch. Staff in all aspects were phenomenal. The resort itself (and accommodations) were spectacular... Whether you want a day at the ocean with lots of activities or just be around the pool there is plenty to do and see.... Including some great kids activities as well.  [... read more]Be sure to ride the bus up to the water park / soccer field and enjoy a little exercise as well. As far as the dining go's, there are lots of great restaurants on-site with plenty of selection ... Even for the finicky. All in all couldn't have had a better experience... My boys and I were very happy to have visited and will most certainly be going back and again. C.

Amazing resort

Very clean Excellent food Amazing beach Friendly staff We travelled with friends for our 25th anniversary and would love to go back for our 26th This email was sent days after the contest ended and it ended the day we arrived home !!!

Nice Resort

Ground , Services,very clean, but buffet food taste the same.This is are secound time there and the food is not good like the first time.Beach is nice but you have to be up at 6:00 am if you want a nice place at the beach.

Fantastic resort!

Just came back from a wonderful one week stay with my husband and two kids (7,9). This is our second time at this resort and it was just as good, if not better, then our first visit. The food is unbelievable! So many options both at the buffets and the ala cart restaurants. We made reservations for the restaurants via email before we arrived and I highly recommend this! The Esmeralda has an exclusive, smaller feel which we liked but we ventured to the bigger parts of Baha'i Príncipe a couple of nights (the Michael Jackson show is fantastic- the best impersonator I've ever seen!). This resort if gorgeous, the food is amazing, the pools and grounds are clean and beautiful. Pick this resort! You won't be disappointed!

Excellent beach!

We visited between Apr 2-9/16 as a pair of 40+ couples, with a toddler. The drive from the airport is only 20-30 minutes. The check-in and out were smooth. The resort is surprisingly small and you get to know the staff 'cause you see them again and again at different restaurants/bars. We only ever took a trolley to the kid's water park - everything else was an easy walk. The beach was awesome: white powdery sand for hundreds of feet inland, with ample shade and chairs at all hours of the day!  [... read more]There was only a hint of seaweed in some places and the resort was quick to address those when they happened. The ocean was clear and warm, often with medium sized waves. There's very little by way of wildlife off the beach, so there's no point snorkeling there. The pools didn't have shade over the water anywhere (wear a rash guard and hat if you intend to spend a lot of time there) but had some shade for chairs -- you had to be up very early to get any of those. All pools were loud and filled with activities. The food was typical DR all-inclusive quality: not great but quite livable. We only went to one a la carte (the Brazilian on the same resort) and enjoyed it very much, mostly because of the animated wait staff -- one guy had an excellent Turkey impression. The buffets had a different theme every night (Tuesday is gala night), which was great. My wife asked for straight vodka from the beach bar and it was definitely watered down but there was never any problem just asking for more of it. My tequila shots from the pool bar weren't watered, nor was the good rum or scotch from the lobby bar. Servers wandered the beach, taking orders or just dropping off some extra drinks they had on their trays.

Fantastic resort!

We really enjoyed this resort. It was clean, beautiful, service was great, beach was awesome, food was quite good, and we could stay in the Esmeralda area or expand our horizons and easily walk or trolly to the connected resorts to change it up without feeling like you were leaving the resort compound. All the employees were very friendly. Wish Wish could have stayed longer! Thanks to our TripCentral rep Teresa for a great recommendation!

Fantastic Holiday!

Last year we were at the Bahia Principe Punta Cana and this year we got a good deal to try out the Esmerelda portion of the same hotel. We enjoyed the entire trip: Food, Beach, Pool, Room and most of all, the Staff were excellent to us and our 10 year old son. Lots of food choice at the buffets, so we didn't try any theme restaurants. We also had no problem transferring to/from the hotel. My only suggestion would be to make sure you grab the air transat app on your smart device before you leave  [... read more]so you can be entertained while on their plane. We would definitely return to the same place, but two caveats: 1) The Bahia Principe is trying to sell you on their Privilige Club. That's fine - But you should not be put in a position while on your vacation to outlay so much money immediately. The selling process combines all the bad aspects of boiler room selling. Not good. If its that good they could email me before or after so I can make an informed financially prudent decision. 2) There is another resort they are building behind the Esmerelda. Concerned that there will be too many people crowding the beach (and chairs) in upcoming years.

Best Punta Cana vacation yet!

This was my third stay in Punta Cana and I have to say I have never been happier. Staying at the Grand Bahia Principe Esmeralda was an extreme pleasure. The grounds were immaculate, the food was fantastic and the service was incomparable to any of the other resorts I had stayed in in Dominican, along with Cancun and Cuba. This is by far my favourite resort and I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get away to Punta Cana. Perfect Winter Getaway!

The Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda was the perfect resort to go relax and be catered too. We had a great time. The rooms we had were just as we had requested, clean and comfortable. The resort was manicured beautifully and the staff were second to none. I would definitely recommend this resort and plan on a future visit!

Fantastic Week

Wonderful stay this past week at the Esmeralda. Accommodations, food, service and weather were all top notch. The resort was much quieter and more relaxing than the adjacent Bahia Principe resorts and was very much geared towards a family experience.

Excellent Resort!!

Ver clean resort right by the beach. This is a small resort so you are close to everything. It is part of 4 other resorts that you can access for those that like bigger resorts. Beach is awesome. Service is excellent. Food is fantastik. Must try the new Brazilian restaurant!! Would definitely return to this resort.

AMAZING RESORT

BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS, CLEAN POOLS , GREAT FOOD , FRIENDLY STAFF. Beds and pillows were too hard.Difficulty booking a la carte restaurants but buffet food was very good.Drinks were very good and bartenders were a eager to suggest a drink if you were unsure of what you would like .

Fantastic, Clean, Friendly Resort

Everything was great, just hope there were more pool organized activities for kids and adults alike. Otherwise it was perfect. Very clean beach, lots of sitting areas. Did not like the forced sales pitch at the resort.

Very good resort.

Rooms very, very clean. Food was very good. Staff was excellent. Would definitely stay there again. Had a very good time. Chairs around the pool were saved early in the morning, but, I can't say I ever had a difficult time finding a chair around the pool. Entertainment at night was fun. Good staff, good food, sunshine and great weather. What is there to complain about? Can't find anything!

Amazing resort

My boyfriend and I were at this resort in Feb.2016 and absolutely loved it. There was nothing you could not love about it. The rooms where clean and spacious. Although no fancy design with the towels... Food selection was endless Beach was clean, service was great and you could always find a beach lounge. Staff was friendly and helpful. we would certainly go back to this resort.

An Excellent Resort

The resort is very well maintained and the gardens are beautiful. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The public beach is excellent, very clean, albeit rough seas due to location. The food was excellent and many choices of places to eat. It would be nice to have known it is a good idea to book our restaurant reservations for the full week upon our arrival (i.e. for places outside of the buffet choices). The trolley services (transportation) around the resort are good, however it would be nice [... read more] to be able to go directly to some of the other resort properties without having to change at the Punta Cana Lobby. While there is signage in many places, beware of uneven curbs and the heights of stairs varies. If you are not used to going from a 4 inch step to a 12 inch step, you are in for a very nasty fall.

Beautiful Resort/Friendly Staff

The resort is part of a five property complex where you can visit other resorts via a quick tram ride. It felt like a little town and let us visit new places with our two small children without leaving the resort. Our kids loved the water park (so did we as the water if not deep and we could relax park side)! The beach is beautiful. The pools were great. Very well run, beautiful resort. Great family resort

Beautiful resort...close to beach...lots to do..nice rooms...especially the large bathrooms...good food...al carts okay...beach was clean..the staff were all great...they really love kids...both pools were nice...lots of great evening entertainment ...
