Riu Guanacaste: Amazing and excellent country and resort, very good and relaxed people

Resort in very good shape, with good installations and good rooms, swimming pool is big and great, maybe need a few renovations, but it is not bad. Good service and good food and everybody speak English. Wonderful beaches and excursions.

JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: No disappointments

This is a lovely resort, clean and very well maintained. I enjoyed the way everything was geared toward the visitor, from the friendly, accommodating staff, to the ease of getting what you needed to make your time there pleasurable. Fabulous beach with weak undertow and pools everywhere you looked.

Tamarindo Diria: Starting to feel like home away from home

This was our 4th time staying at the Diria and we love it! The staff is great, the food is great, the pools are great. It's just all around great! It is a quick stroll to anywhere. Nicest hotel on the beach. It is on the main drag and can be noisy but that's the only thing I can complain about.

Riu Guanacaste: RUI GUANACASTE

Fabulous Resort, highly recommended! Employees extremely kind, the best food ever. Loved the ocean and plus plus could hear it from our lovely room at night. Love the fact all species are protected. I am definitely coming back asap, see you then!

Occidental Papagayo: Deluxe Bayview Room

Our deluxe bayview room overlooking the water watching the boats go by was amazing! Room was clean, food was good, drinks were cold and the weather was very hot. The resort is built on a hill so be prepared to walk up and down constantly unless you want to wait for the shuttle. I don't mind walking but for someone with mobility issues it may not be the best resort to visit. This is the second time we visited and would definitely recommend.

Riu Guanacaste: Excellent Resort

Amazing beach, pools and waterpark- three great options which our family loved. The resort is clean and safe. The staff is friendly and kind. Rooms are good not great. The food is pretty good, plenty of options and selection. Breakfast was the best!

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Great resort

Rooms and grounds were amazing. our room was perfect(other than the electric outlets that continue to be a pain to use) the restaurants were great except for the Italian where the food was overcooked and bland. 6 of us went to the steak house and they only got one order right, i am not sure what was wrong but all of our steaks were raw, when asked for medium. it would almost seem that you didn't want us to be there or go more than once in the week that we were there. Riu Palace Costa Rica: Mediocre

At first entrance to the room we where hit with a strong mold smell. The sink leaked creating a puddle the exhaust fan did not work there were broken glass cubes in the shower . The worst was how far it was to the washroom form the pool area letting everybody know people are so peeing in the pools. However most of the staff was amazing very friendly and always willing to help.

Hotel…. What can we say. GREAT, GREAT and GREAT again. Clean to perfection. They are working 24/7 to make us comfortable as much as possible. Stuff very friendly and helpful . Food very good. Grounds are amazing. Definitely recommended to go there. I would like to mention a few names: HERIBERTO taking care about everything, and many, many more.. Nela from Star Bar, Isabella from Star Caffe, Romely, Pamela from SPA and many, many more.

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Amazing resort

The Riu Palace is one of the best resorts we have stayed in. We staying in this Riu for a couple of weeks. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. Staff were constantly grooming the grounds, thus it was always clean. The pools were spacious and warm. There was always water activities going on. Best was the Suds pool party on Wednesdays. The staff were great and very amicable. Food was excellent, especially the buffets. I have never seen buffets this large with a selection to meet all tas [... read more]tes. The nightly stage shows were among the best we have seen at resorts. The performers are not the staff working during the day at other activities. They are professionals only doing the nightly shows.

Tamarindo Diria: Fabulous

Diria Tamarindo is a great resort. All employees are so friendly and helpful. The resort itself is very clean. The pools are great. Unfortunately the Tropicana Pool was being renovated and it has been our favourite in the past.

Secrets Papagayo Resort: Outstanding Resort

Only 30 minutes from the airport to the resort. We have been to many all-inclusive resorts, this resort was the best ever. No shortages here and a very clean resort. The service was top-notch everywhere they could not do enough for you. The food was very good in all the restaurants, with no reservations required with the exception of the Asian Teppanyaki table. The entertainment team had activities during the day no pressure to join in and great shows at night. Most of the rooms are on hillside [... read more]s we were on the second level, we walked going to the restaurants etc and took the shuttle going up sometimes there is maybe a 5 or 10-minute wait if it is after the shows at night. Beautiful views everywhere you look. Highly recommend this resort.

Punta Leona Beach Club and Nature Resort: Great vacation!

After a long day of planes followed by a 90-minute van ride, Bryon at Reception greeted us with a smile. He had taken the initiative to get the food service to leave a bag lunch in our minifridge. He also ensured there was someone to drive us with our bags to our room despite the late arrival. It was a great way to begin our vacation despite the heavy rain. It was amusing to watch. We walked about a kilometer to reception to double check some information. We continued past to check out the pools, restaurant and beach. The resort area was well staffed, clean, and had the regular entertainment items. The beach was through a security gate. There were no chairs. It turns out it is a public beach. To return to the pool area we had to show our bracelets. After lunch, we took the shuttle to the other beach (Playa Blanca is about 2.5km away from our room). It was nice. The water looked clearer. You could get chairs and an umbrella for $15usd. Overall, the resort was fine. It's difficult to describe how sprawled everything is but the distances stated give you an idea. The staff were nice. At Playa Blanca, Patricia, Stephany and a man whose name I've forgotten remembered our drink orders and were super friendly. The food at that restaurant was delicious and we made a point of eating lunch there for most of our 2 weeks. The staff at the buffet near Selvamar (the rooms) were hit and miss. Some were exceptional and got us our drinks. Others were never seen the whole dinner unless I approached them to get a glass of wine. You could serve yourself water, pop, juice, coffee and tea so it wasn't a big deal. The buffet is Covid careful, with the staff behind plexiglass and dishing up your food for you. The evening supervisor recognized us and she greeted us with a big smile (again, name forgotten.) We never went to the 'bar' so we have no opinion on it. The room was a regular room. It had wifi and a room safe. The mini fridge had a pitcher of water and that was it. At night you often could find a movie in English. The area in Costa Rica is so full of nature, the resort doesn't need much beyond clean facilities and friendly staff, which it has. There were all kinds of birds, lizards, monkeys, coatimundis and few insects. There is a butterfly shelter and a hydroponics garden. We found we could walk all the way to Playa Blanca and enjoy the life around us. The macaws, lovebirds, buzzards and toucans (to name a few) kept the skies alive. The green and red iguanas could be found on the ground and high up in trees. The monkeys and raccoons were entertainers. It is a fantastic area to enjoy nature. With all the rain and a few storms thrown in, the water clarity was not good for snorkeling. Apparently they are beginning to make an underwater museum with statues and coral friendly structures. Perhaps we'll return someday and be able to see them in clear water.

Occidental Papagayo: Very nice resort

Very clean resort! Lacks the “wow” factor but was comfortable. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Food at buffet could be improved as far as variety. Beach chairs need improvement and lights at night on beach are greatly needed.

JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort and Spa: Perfect way to recharge your batteries

Candice from tripcentral helped book our perfect getaway to Dreams Las Mareas in Costa Rica. Occidental Papagayo: Nice resort

Grounds were very nice. Food on the other hand was ok...but you cannot live off rice and beans every meal. Not much selection. We didnt get the room we booked (double) but the view we got was beautiful (#1903). Rooms need updated and fixing as sink and shower would not drain and there was no door on shower. Swimming in the gulf was my highlight...loved it. No soliciting on the beach which was nice. People doing massages would ask once and if you said no would leave you alone.

The grounds very clean the staff and the food was great the beach was great the rooms were clean and a great view and I would recommend this hotel to any body the guilds were great for tour and the pools were very clean and a lot of action around the pools

Riu Guanacaste: Great resort

The grounds on the resort are well kept and rooms are quite comfortable. Restaurants have enough choices. My only complaint there are too many kids and its quite noisy around the pool especially on the weekend. The beach is adequate and you can walk for quite a while safely. Enjoyed the holiday but probably would book next time at the Riu Palace next door.

The Westin Reserva Conchal Golf Resort & Spa: Great Resort!

The staff, grounds and restaurants were all fantastic. Our rooms were very clean and close to the beach. I would definitely recommend this resort especially for families with small children….the staff at the Kids Club were amazing!

Riu Guanacaste: Average Resort

Other than the pool, this hotel was a disappointing experience. Service could be better, both at the reception and at the bars. The so called 24 hour bar, never had any stocked food, always empty. I always had to ask to stock the fridge and for toilet paper. Best to spend a bit more money and stay at the Riu Palace. Not worth the money.
