Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

The Melia Caribe Beach resort is beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained. Rooms are clean and very spacious, balconies are large and comfortable. It is a large resort, but everything is walkable. There is a 'train' available that seemed to run consistently around the resort all day long with not much wait time. The Mexican restaurant was very good, but also very slow. We travelled with 2 teenage boys and they found enough to do during the day, and they had a lot of fun on the inflatable water park in the ocean. They enjoyed hanging out in the lobby at night, The evening shows were just OK, and there was not much activity around the pools during the day. There seemed to be A LOT of activities for younger children though! Booking restaurants was a challenge. Reservations could only be made the same day, and the line at 8:30AM could be very long with only one person making all reservations for a short period of time. I was told that if there was availability restaurants would take walk-ins, but we did not try this. The major disappointment was the reception staff. We requested 2 adjoining rooms months in advance, and when we arrived, were given 2 rooms in different buildings. We were told to come back to reception at 6pm the following day to be assigned new rooms. When we arrived the next evening, we had to wait almost an hour in line, only to be told there were no rooms. After much frustration, 2 adjacent rooms were eventually found and we were able to move. However, had we not been so insistent, I believe they would not have moved us.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Waste of my money!!

Honestly I went in with high hopes and came back highly disappointed. Keep in mind I’m in my late twenties so I was expecting more people in my age group and it felt like a retirement home. Food is a 5/10. One buffet for lunch and breakfast. Dinner has more options but everything closes at 11 and one “bar/club” that closed that 1 am. No nightlife or entertainment really at the resort. Drinks taste watered down. One main pool to hangout at and the beach is absolutely disgusting at this time [... read more] of the year (I went July 13-18) this year. Left the resort a few times which make this trip worth it for me but never again…

Melia Costa Del Sol: As advertised!!!

The hotel is conveniently located in Torrmeolinis. It's a "conference" style hotel; spread out over 2 towers, large, sterile lobby, very efficient. There's basically only 1 restaurant besides the beach bar and it's a buffet and you feel like you are in a cafeteria.. If you are a pool person, you may struggle to find a place. The rooms are small but the ocean view compensates. ABSOLUTELY must get a "LEVEL" room, their "club " floor. Certain rooms are designated LEVEL and they have upgraded  [... read more]bedding. There's a private "LEVEL" lounge self serving snacks and cocktails along with breakfast and small but lovely swimming pool. And best of all, Level concierge. Eva and Jazmen were incredible resources... The LEVEL was the highlight of the hotel. The 2 beach chairs and umbrella were cheap at 14 euros for the whole day. And Senor JORGE did an amazing job managing this area.

The stay at Melia has been incredible, best value for money, food was great, all the servers were professional and kind, resort was beautiful, room was nice as well. Resort always upkept. Great place.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Do Not Have PRE Covid Expectations!

Let me start off with the Staff were Excellent!! Management were not up to par and already to provide Lip Service. 3 rooms were booked together or adjoining for all of us to assist with a special needs individual. We we told to wait for our rooms as we need to be upgraded (no mention of additional charges). Once we went back for our rooms after 5 pm we were told an extra $1050 USD to get the rooms we booked??? By 7pm and two room changes later we were able to settle for 3 rooms sub standard. 3 r [... read more]ooms with safes not working for 3 days, 2 rooms with no WI FI for 7 days, and one room with out a properly working toilet (be prepared for plumbing skills) and a room that did not lock from ground level patio doors for 7 days. Grounds were beautiful. As for the advertised 7 restaurants there is no such thing! Only one Buffet available for Dinner and a la Cartes are only booked on Sunday. Beach buffet closes for LEVEL service at dinner. Beach was full of seaweed and smelly. If you wanted to lay on a beach bed, be prepared to pay $37 USD per day and only use of one beach bar if not upgraded to LEVEL. I don't know if this is because of Post Covid Travel..but if this is the case I will consider staying home or visiting Florida. Just to mention be prepared for the for the A La Cartes and they can only except reservations on Sunday. Japanese and Steak house $$$ extra to book. Steak $49.00 USD. I don't understand the Melia?? I have been to Punta Can 6 times and even stayed at the Paradisus that I would highly recommend Pre Covid. Very disappointed with this trip. Mary Lynne

Gorgeous grounds, beautiful white sandy beach, Fabulous pools with lots of cots to choose from at all times Many good restaurants, The Level is definitely worth it. Quimera a-la-carte restaurant is excellent. Great choices in restaurants. Good entertainment in the Lobby Bar. Excellent spa pool. Rooms are modern, spacious, and perfect. Bar fridge topped-up daily. Excellent service, butler very eager to please. We look forward to returning.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Melia Punta Cana - Resort has changed since last year

This resort is beautiful, food is great and the workers are amazing. I have been here before and had an amazing time. This time I was disappointed. It has been converted to a serenity spa wellness centre. No music at the pool or beach. Very quiet and boring. At the beach buffet you are totured listening to rain drops keeps falling on my head and somewhere over the rainbow!!! Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: beautiful resort

The grounds are well landscaped. Pools are large and clean. Beautiful architecture. Restaurants were good. Beach needed to have seaweed removal. I would have preferred to have staff serve snacks to us on the beach when we are on lounge chairs. Not enough beach staff.

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Fabulous resort!!

The service in this hotel was seamless from the moment we arrived till when we left, we were treated like VIP’s. The Covid protocols were fairly strict-all hotel staff wore masks. Masks were required in the buffet restaurants except while eating. All the public areas were meticulously cleaned and sanitized. Our suite was spacious and all mechanics functioned perfectly. Housekeeping was meticulous in cleaning and sanitizing our room. The food choices were excellent-buffet,seafood,steak and up [... read more]scale if you so desired. The food was tasty and well served and the wine choices were broad. The beach and water was overgrown with seaweed due to climate changes but the hotel cleaned it everyday throughout the day making beach walking a good experience. The pools were excellent-spotless and you could always get a spot by the pool.

Had a wonderful vacation at Melia Caribe Beach resort, grounds are beautiful, rooms are nice and very clean and of course the beach is second to none, if anything was a let down it was the food at the buffet, we prefer not to book the other eateries because we do not like to be locked in to a specific time to eat, the first few days the buffet was served in chafing warmers, was a little shocked no grill for breakfast or dinner but then after 3 days voila the grill was there and pasta offered at  [... read more]dinner so that was good, all in all out of 10 it was a high 9, great place for kids really enjoyed watching the little ones play and be sweet.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Paradisus Playa del Carmen

This facility is very clean, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. There are your typical restaurants such as Italian, Oriental and Steak house. The main buffet restaurant is by far the smallest buffet I've seen. This is my 7th facility and by far the lowest rating. The food was for the most part warm at best. The selection is limited and would repeat frequently. For what it cost I would have expected better.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing resort

The Melia caribe is an awsome resort. This was our first trip south and probably not our last. The staff on the resort are so friendly and happy. Its a very clean place. We felt comfortable there with the covid situation. You had to wear a mask while going threw the buffet until you were seated at your table. The staff always had a mask on whether they were inside or out driving you on the golf cart. They were very helpful with the covid testing at the resort. The food at the buffet was awsome [... read more]. A big selection and always something different to try. You can smoke on your patio at your room and there were ashtrays outside in places also. The store on the resort had alot of different options as far a souvenirs. The cleaning staff came every day to clean the room and put fresh towels. Our fridge was filled daily by Marcos Aponte. He was a really nice guy and very helpful. The beach was amazing and had showers to rinse the sand off. The beach was very clean. I would recommend this place. Rachel was awsome in getting our trip planned and I would definitely Rachel as a travel agent.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Lovely but disappointed

Beautiful, clean resort and beach, but 4 times could not get into our room as door not working. Did not have it near the phone or credit cards and they said they would have it checked but not until the 4th time did someone come and "activate" the door and then the cards worked immediately so it was definitely the door. Quite a distance to have to walk and get reset. Also, had trouble getting through on the number to reserve for restaurants...busy and then no answer. Heard a few other peopl [... read more]e had trouble with this as well. Really just poor management as a lovely resort, but 4 times??

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Mediocre

The hotel grounds and beach were beautiful. Some of the neighbouring resorts had sea weed removal trucks, which made for a cleaner beach. Melia caribe had two men cleaning the beach with tools every morning. There was a lot of confusion and miscommunication around restaurant bookings and we had a few hiccups there. Service was also extremely slow. The rooms were pretty clean and beds were very comfortable. The buffet was basic compared to other resorts we’ve been to. They were out of food  [... read more]a lot and you had to ask for bananas and anything not frequently being replenished. Staff seemed agitated most of the time. The events were fun and overall layout of the hotel was very functional.

Paradisus Cancun: Cancun 2022

Beach - Lovely sand & great for walking/ ocean for swimming. Red Flags for strong under current/rip tide. National guard and police patrolled the beach on ATVs. Very safe. Resort- 5 pyramids connected through passageways. You can stay inside or walk outside to arrive at your destination ( spa, restaurant, hospitality suite). We stayed in the Reserve. It was worth the added expense (reservations for dinner, Bali beds, etc).The resort is now at 90% capacity. The atrium decor has tropical foliage, [... read more] koi fish, ponds. Excellent Nespresso coffee stand and snack bar. COVID- staff prefers you mask indoors. However, the staff indicated that it depends on your country of origin if you mask indoors. Our group of 6 masked indoors consistently. We all had covid within the last 90 days and have been vaccinated. Majority of people did not mask indoors as it was not enforced. Although to enter restaurants you were required to wear a mask until seated ( similar to Canadian protocols). We booked (upon arrival) our return antigen test for 430pm on our last day (Friday). We received 5/6 test results (NEG) promptly. No records were found for my 15 year old until 20 min before our airport shuttle departure (Sat). Plan B was to obtain a test at the airport. Staff- service was excellent. Thank you Moises, Jose, Maximus, Galdino & many more. Hardworking and very pleasant.  They were extremely accommodating. We connected with our Reserve concierge through WhatsApp. We could text at any time to make plans or ask for drinks/snacks for our room bar fridge.  One of our rooms was in a party zone so they were moved to a different floor after banging and knocking on doors occurred after “quiet” hours. Gym- this would be less than ideal for the amount of people at the resort. Not enough gear or free weights. In pre covid times, I assume classes would occur in 2 of the fitness rooms ( spin, yoga?). Again, we masked to attend then removed the mask when exercising in a spot ( similar to Canadian rules). Food & beverage-Lots of margaritas. Buffet had many selections.We had great meals. Of course the 2 Mexican restaurants were our favorites. Beautiful resort. I would highly recommend a vacation to The Paradisus for families, couples, and groups. Please improve weight room.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Great stay at Paradisus Palma Real!

My adult daughter and I had a really nice time. The room was perfect with a nice sitting area and lots of room. We split our time between the beautiful beach and the pool. The hotel made the Covid testing easy and stress free.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Fantastic Family Resort

Overall we had a great family vacation ( travelling with 2 small children) at the Paradisus and we would recommend the resort to family /friends The pros: 1. Fantastic staff! Everyone was so friendly and worked so hard to make everyone’s trip a great one. 2. Upgrade to reserve. Very happy we did this option! Having Rossana as a concierge was very helpful. She helped book all of our reservations for dinner and handled any requests we had super quickly. She also brought little surprises  [... read more]to our daughter throughout the week which she loved. In addition we loved having access to the additional restaurant Olio and reserve pool 3. Layout of the hotel. Very well designed making it easy to get to all of the different areas quickly 4. The food. Restaurant options ( other than the buffet) were awesome and better than other resorts we have been to in Mexico 5. I had heard some complaints about seaweed prior to coming but when we were here the beach was super clean and warm with plenty of spots to sit! The cons : 1. Swimout and pool temperature. We upgraded to a swimout but wouldn’t do it again. Our sun beds were in the shade and the pool temperature was really too cold to make a lot of use of. In addition we found the pool temperature at all pools to be a little cold ( including the “ heated” reserve pool) 2. Towels- multiple times there were no towels available at the pool All in all despite the few cons the resort is fantastic with such amazing staff! We would come back again!

Zel Cozumel: Great place to relax!

Resort had lots of helpful and friendly staff. Both Al a carte restaurants were good and buffet had lots to choose from. Beach was great but when the wind is high lots of seaweed makes the water murky but still swimmable. Beware of large rocks in water. If you walk a small distance on the beach passed the break walls the water is chrystal clear. The resort was very clean and the COVID protocol was in order. Also, the bank machines on Cozumel charge a fee as well as a percentage of $$ you withdraw. Beware!! Bring cash and use credit cards for activities. Did some excursions outside of hotel and rented a car for sightseeing. Island seemed very safe. Bring bug spray!! At dusk the mosquitoes are plentiful. All in all was a good get away. Antigen testing was easy for our departure. You just have to book with hotel and was $36 US. Our trip was Feb.22 to Mar 1/22

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful beach

The hotel has an amazing beachfront with lots of space. We always found a great spot at the beach or pool even if we were a little late going down. Staff was very friendly and had great service, especially the bartenders at the pool and lobby bar - they could make anything you can imagine! Staff followed covid protocols (masking, cleaning between guests) well, and there was hand sanitizer available at entrances to buffets, however we brought our own sanitizer for the table which made us more com [... read more]fortable. The air transat representative at the hotel was helpful in booking us our covid test to return to Canada, and he sent a nurse to our room to complete the test so we didn’t need to wait in line. Alternatively there was testing in the conference room in the lobby. The al la carte restaurants had delicious food, particularly the Mediterranean and Italian! The room was nice, bed was very comfortable, however our hair dryer didn’t work (which was ok for us, and we didn’t ask them to fix it). Overall a great trip, would definitely go back. Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Beautiful Resort!!

This was one of my best vacation as far as resorts go. The grounds are immaculate! All the workers where friendly, happy and always there when we needed them. The rooms where beautiful and large, the maids always made our room fresh and clean and made sure we had full fridges and coffee supplies, never had to ask for anything. The beach was beautiful and always clean. Just an all round great vacation for my husband and I.
