Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Resort

The Ambar has something for everyone. The recent renovations have improved on what was already a great vacation spot. The new Sports Bar and Gym are Excellent facilities. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There are a variety of food options to satisfy any taste. The newly renovated rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The pool area is terrific and you are very close to the beach. Looking forward to my next vacation at the Ambar.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Absolutely Stunning!

Loved the hotel grounds. So beautiful! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Majority speak English, there are some throughout the resort that don’t, however they can understand you and you get by. My boyfriend and I stayed for a week and we definitely enjoyed our stay at Tulum and we would definitely go back but I think we would stay for at least 10 days. Resort is very big so be prepared to walk a lot and shares it’s amenities with Coba. We chose tulum because it’s very close to the b [... read more]each and I found more couples / younger crowds here. I would say choose Coba if you are going with family. Beach was gorgeous, lots of fish so bring snorkeling gear! Pool was so fun, very entertaining always something going on. Even my boyfriend enjoyed his stay and he is very picky! Again, I would definitely go again but this time for longer !!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great Resort

Well designed and managed resort. Landscaping is excellent. Ease of movement within the resort grounds is great. Great food and very fresh fruits. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The beach is great and very clean.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: reasonable resort - good for the value

Hotel room was lovely & clean. The alarm clock was broken, had to reset anytime we wanted to see the time. Otherwise, good location, good beach. Food was nice in all the restaurants, wide variety. However, often had problems at the main buffet, where the tables were not being set with enough cutlery, water glasses, napkins etc. Had to remind staff to bring supplies several times. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Paradise

Hotel grounds is very large, but everything is spread out enough that it didn’t seem too busy. A la cartes were hard to book as they were always full, however the two we got in at were delicious! Beautiful beach areas and lovely staff!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great vacation at the Aquamarine!

We stayed at the Aquamarine from 06Jan-13Jan (group of 4). Check in was relatively easy and our room was ready right away. I was a bit nervous after reading a few bad recent reviews but we were so happy with our vacation. The grounds are very clean. Our room was close to the pool and we were easily able to get chairs beside the pool each day. The activities at the pool were great, especially the foam party on the Monday. The animation staff really get the crowd involved. The main pool is a b [... read more]it louder but the two side pools were quiet. The bartenders at the pool bar were great (I think Carlos was our main bartender all week!) The food at the buffet was very good and the service was amazing (shout out to Maria!). For the A La Cartes, we ate at M.E.A.T., Mexican, Italian and Japanese (Maiko). They were all very good but the Japanese was amazing!!! I'd recommend all of them. We also enjoyed going to the Sports Bar. It was a fun thing to do in the evening before dinner (get the mozza sticks!). The hotel is located a bit further from the beach, but there is a shuttle or it is a nice walk. We only went down to the beach a few times so this wasn't an issue for us. The only downside - we booked an excursion on the beach and it was a TERRIBLE experience. It's an attempt to get you to spend more money at the location and we were left without a shuttle back to our hotel. I'd recommend not booking excursions on the beach and only booking through the hotel. It will cost a bit more but will be worth it! Special thanks to Heilen at the main office for being so accommodating with us. The adults only aspect of the Aquamarine is worth the cost! I would highly recommend this resort to others and we very much enjoyed our stay!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Wonderful vacation

Absolutely loved our stay at Aquamarine! From the moment we landed in Punta Cana, everything went smoothly and transportation to the resort was very organized. Our room was sportless and roomy. We were in close proximity to the pool which was a bonus. The food at the buffet was so fresh and flavourful! The waiting staff were all so kind and the service was relatively quick. The beach is busy, so going early to reserve chairs is almost a must. We would definitely return to this resort!! So happy with our stay.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Amazing resort and fantastic vacation!

From the airport, the bus takes you to the front of the Bahia Principe La Romana resort and then you are taken to the Bouganville side (adults only section) by golf cart. Check-in is done at the Bouganville reception and it was easy and quick. We were greeted by friendly staff with a welcome drink and our luggage was taken up to our room almost immediately. We were the lucky ones to get the best room in the resort - room 51201. We were the 3rd floor corner room facing the pool and ocean - we [... read more] had amazing sunsets every night! Our balcony was so large that we had 2 loungers and a table and 2 chairs with room to spare. Our butler Isaury greeted us shortly after and made sure we had everything we needed and answered any questions we had. During the week, he made sure we had a bucket of beer on ice delivered to our room every day at 4pm and he even had a bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub lined with red rose petals waiting for us after our pool time. Isaury went the extra mile to make sure our vacation was great. The Animation Team (Cappuccino, Caramel, Nicky, Mr. Wow, King Kong) ran events around the pools and lobby and got those who wanted to participate in activities, moving and having fun. We ate at 4 a la carte restaurants - Italian, Asian, Gourmet and Mediterranean - all were very good but our favourite was the Gourmet Don Pablo - we ordered surf and turf. The buffet had a different theme every day for dinner, so there was always a variety. Breakfast was pretty much the same every day, but there was a great variety so you could change it up. The restaurant by the beach is an a la carte from 10:30am - noon (order from a menu) and then at noon it switches to a buffet until 4pm - no complaints here either. Even though this resort is not new, it is very well maintained - gardens and grounds are beautiful and staff are constantly and discretely gardening, cleaning, painting, etc. Our room was very clean and comfortable - the only downfall is lack of electrical outlets for charging phones, tablets, etc. The beach is beautiful but the water is not clear. We were told that it is due to the river up the cost and that it stirs up the bottom causing it to look foggy. That being said, we have been to Punta Cana and Costa Rica and we did not have clear waters there due to waves stirring up the bottom, so not really much different. This was our 8th all inclusive vacation and it was our best! We heard that review ratings were down so we are not sure if we went at a time when staff were trying extra hard to increase their ratings or if it is like this all the time - we have no complaints. If we could change anything about this vacation, it would be that a direct bus transfer to/from the airport would be preferred - we stopped at 4 other resorts each way so our total trip time each way was 1.5 hrs. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Second time and will come back again!

This was our second time visiting the Luxury Bahia Princepe Akumal. The staff are amazing and so very friendly. The buffet's are actually GOOD and the a la carte's are a great experience. The beach is very well kept and it's great to be able to access the other resorts. We visited with our 2 year old and he loved it! We'll be back.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort

Extremely clean mini suites and hallways. Grounds beautifully manicured. Pool large and pleasant to spend time in with morning and afternoon events scheduled; bar accessible both from inside and outside water. Beach well tended with plenty of chairs and umbrellas.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Loved the staff the most

The staff was the best part of this resort for sure. They were all so incredible. The resort itself was average and the beach was disappointing. My family and I are the type that like waves and unfortunately this beach did not cut it. And the beach itself wasn't very nice.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing resort

Grand Bahai Principe Coba is a beautiful resort. The food was excellent and the service was, as a whole great. The resort is pretty far from the airport, though. Be prepared for a 1 1/2 - 2 hr ride. Playa de Carmen is about a 30-40 min drive from the resort. Not really worth the drive. Stay on the resort, free food and drinks! I would definitely return. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Excellent place to rest.

The weather was variable but enjoyable in general. However, a little too much harassment from local vendors of handcraft items nearby the hotel beach limits. In the buffet service, some times not enough staff to cook omelet for example. The replacement of food dishes takes too long. Room service is very good. Carts shuttle to and from the main lobby is annoying for residents who prefer walking. Too much cars smoke entering the lobby area due to buses and cars parked right at upw [... read more]ind location of the lobby. Smoking area is located near the swimming pool and right next to the walkway to the buffet. Very uncomfortable for non smokers.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Wonderful Resort

This hotel was excellent. The staff were always friendly and helpful, the food was great (ton's of fresh fruits and veggies) with lot's of variety, the beach was a bit of a walk from our room, but was beautiful!!! There were ton's of drinks for us to try, lots of activities. We had an amazing time!! I would definitely recommend this resort to my friends and family!!

Very well maintained,clean,staff friendly and helpful.Lots of shade to get out of the sun in the heat of the day.Food was good and buffet had lots of variety.I had three al le carts the only one I did not enjoy was French,food was okay but service was only fair very slow.The Italian one was fabulous.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort - With some issues

We had a super vacation, once we got past the rooming issues. First of all Ill start with the positive and truly if you are in the right place of mind, the positives did end up outweighing the negatives. The beach was amazing, the food was great and there was always something to do. We played tons of beach volleyball, water aerobics and spend some time touring the other facilities. We were never bored! The only negative was the 4 room changes in 4 days. First room had a leak in the bathr [... read more]oom ceiling. Second room had no air conditioning. Third room only had single beds, and lastly the 4th room was perfect! The front desk was not very helpful or sympathetic to the fact that each morning we were packing and moving, which made it totally frustrating. We chose to move past the annoyances and enjoy the weather and beach!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great new resort

Been to punta Cana over 10 times. Been to Bahia principe 5 times. Never the Fantasia. It was amazing. Resort was beautiful. Kids loved all the @ctivities and slides and pools etc. Beach was beautiful. Sufficient chairs at beach. Rooms were comfy. Bed was firm. mini bar refilled every day. Food was better then usual although still not up to our standards. Would recommend in a heart beat.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Well staffed, family-friendly resort

The room was spacious and immaculately cleaned every day, There were staff everywhere to carry out all of the various jobs to keep the resort clean and well-stocked. We only ate at the Italian a la carte restaurant, which was very good. Options were fairly limited for times at the a la carte restaurants for the Air Canada vacations customers, they probably save the good time slots for Bahia Principe customers. The beach seemed to be cleaned almost hourly, there would be someone coming around with a rake and wheelbarrow to pick up the reeds washed ashore. I've never seen anything like it. In terms of souvenirs we found the beach vendors to be much easier to deal with, and willing to negotiate. The local shops at Las Terrenas would not negotiate and were pricier.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great as usual

There were just a couple things a bit disappointing but overall great as usual. This was my 7th time to the resort, joining me were 2 guests I introduced to the facility last year. There is always as much or a little as you choose to do which is one of the best features. Drives and snorkeling right from site was a plus for my brother who joined me this year. Food was great! Alacart never disappoint. Our room was 3901. I had requested 2 beds but room had a king. The check in desk had no desire to change our room. I should have asked when at main lobby getting our keys to work. The room was not ready when we checked in at 7pm. Instead of changing the room for us they brought on a small twin bed. My 6' tall brother was a good sport and stayed on it for our 9 days. This room was very noisy with services at back door to Tequila restaurant, early in morning and not a great view. I know the resort well enough now to request a better room, especially when it is not busy. Good value, good guests, good staff. I'm sure I will return.
