Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing resort

I am going back.Its my second time, celebrating my birthday feb 14.I was sooo happy.Very safe.Wonderful people.Cannot wait to go back.Great entertainment.Wonderful weather.Delicous food.Very clean.Happy energy.

Hotel Atlantico: Great beach & staff

We’ve stayed here before. They’re upgrading the rooms, we really found nothing wrong. Air conditioning great, hot water, T.V., only a few channels. I didn’t care for the lock on the rooms, you had to slam them to lock. Also $3.00 weekly to rent safe. The biggest complaint I heard was the nonstop loud music playing by the pool and beach. We asked them to turn it down, did for a while then turned it up again saying the Cubans like it loud. I can see why the Cubans talk loud !

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great resort, service needs some improvement.

the hotel itself was amazing, new, and clean, lots of pools, and the beaches were what you would expect in Cuba. I think they lack staff to accommodate the volume of guests or it's maybe because it's still fairly new that the staff are still learning their new jobs. not enough towels on a daily basis, not enough room keys, you never know if they will run out of beer or food that you like, one day they have it, the next day it's gone.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Nice resort, staff and food just ok

The hotel itself and the rooms are nice. Hotel was overbooked. Not enough chairs at the beach or pool someday for everyone. Pizza,fries and hot dog lines were over an hour long. I’m not fussy at all with Cuba and their food but this place takes the cake as the worse it’s been for food. I’ve been to Cuba 5 times. Staff seems upset even know we tipped plentifully. Will not return.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Where do we start???????

We are not ones to complain. In fact we've never written a negative review on any of our vacations though I know some deserved it. In this case we feel we have to. We chose Cuba fully aware of the pitfalls. Limited food and shortages in supply. So when we arrived and found no toilette paper in our room or in the public bathrooms anywhere on the resort we accepted that. When we ordered our first drink, a rum and coke we were told there is no mix, no coke, no sprite, gingerale, no soda of any kin [... read more]d. We accepted that. No eggs! No problem! No coffee!! No problem!! Wine only in a la carte restaurants, no problem. No beer!!!!!! Ok that was a problem but it was only for a short period of time, so just a little problem. We weren't there for the food, even the drink. We were there for the beautiful beach, warm weather, and hopefully a clean comfortable room. The beach was beautiful. The weather was warm though windy at times but no complaints. Our room was dated but clean.................until the flood! Well before the flood there was the backed up plumbing from the shower and toilet. That led to a flood in our room, raw sewage throughout. Luckily we had everything off the floor, and thanks to a staff member who leant me their rubber boots we evacuated without any issues or damage to our belongings. The room we were put in smelled heavily of mold and mildew. Intolerable!!! My wife slept with the bedsheet wrapped around her face. I hardly slept at all. Thank goodness it was our last night. We couldn't wait to get home. We know we were not the only ones experiencing this. There were several units in our building flooded from a leaking pipe from the second floor. As hard as it was for us, I also felt bad for the staff. I could see many were upset, and apologized to us several times. It's not their fault. Who owns these places? I'm pretty sure these have a Canadian ownership connection with the Cuban government. It's a disgrace!!! We will not be returning to Cuba any time soon and will not recommend this destination to any of our friends

Selectum Family Resort Varadero: Beautiful resort

Extremely clean, grounds well maintained, design of hotel very unique with greenery in a courtyard off the rooms. Buffet food was good however long wait for grilled meat. Staff friendly and great entertainment. Only issue is lacked outside bathroom necessities.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Amazing resort!

We went to this resort end of January 2024, first time here, 8th time to Cayo Coco. Loved loved loved this resort! They were amazing with the kids, from the entertainment staff, to the bar staff who let them get their own juice to the lobby desk guy who played with them with the bell and made my son (6 years old) super cool paper airplanes. They have lots of entertainment for the kids and sports to do. The food was plentiful, service was amazing everywhere, including the gardeners! The room was clean, yes a bit outdated but super cozy and no issues at all with it ( we had a oceanview room) Beach is amazing, pools were nice ( we go for the beach though!) You never have to worry about finding a spot on the beach or by the pool, always chairs available. Resort was very clean. Drinks were always available no matter what you drank even wine! No complaints for our week staying. Will definitely go back!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beach was great

While I understand Cuba is in dire straits and always has shortages of something, this hotel could have done more to be welcoming. Most staff, while not rude, did not go out of their way to even smile at guests. Even paying for upgraded service did little to secure basic needs, like a toilet we didn't have to continually fix. The beach on the other hand cannot be beat!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Moved after 3 days!

This resort was the worst I have ever been too! After no hot water for showers and flooding of the entire room we had enough!! We moved to the Meliá International! The Paradisus Del Mar was the worst of the worst I have ever stayed in Cuba. After 30 years of travelling to Cuba all I can say is “ We Are Done “ I refuse to spend anymore more of our hard earned money here! Roc Barlovento: Absolutely Amazing

The Roc Barlovento was fantastic from the great service we received when we arrived throughout our whole stay. The bartenders, waiters, employees on the beaches were all fantastic. The resort was clean, we always had bottles of water and clean towels every day and the food was great. We will definately be going back to this resort - it is conveniently located close enough to the City to walk or take a horse and buggie whatever you want. Playa Pesquero: Very nice resort. Clean

Clean rooms, public areas. Pool nice but needs more cleaning. Many shortages of food items, no fresh eggs, no butter, no jams, no syrups. Wines and liquor were hit and miss from day to day. Staff friendly

Starfish Cayo Largo: Shortages very noticeable this time around

Weather and ocean were fabulous - the beach has eroded but plenty of sand and umbrellas to take in the sun and ocean breezes. On windy days when the ocean is choppy Playa Serena and Playa Paradiso are good options. The rooms are dated but clean - some buildings are under renovation. Even though we come prepared, the shortages were very noticeable this year; no cheese (so pizza snack bar was closed all week), some days no eggs, no ham, no vegetables, fruit, pop, beer, toilet paper, hot wat [... read more]er…. We along with other guests got food poisoning from something we ate and it wasn’t fun - we resorted to bread and butter for a few days. Staff were friendly and accommodating and try their best despite all the limitations. Our butler Daviel was fabulous. The fuel in Cayo Largo was contaminated so we had to stop in Varadero to refuel on our way home. We’ve been to Cayo Largo many times and this by far was one of our worst experiences BUT we love the island and its special charm and I’m sure we’ll be back again and will pack more snacks and toilet paper just in case.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Grand Aston Varadero

The reviews weren’t great but we took a chance. It’s a brand new hotel and the rooms, beach and hotel are beautiful. It took almost 6 hrs to get a room and front staff seemed very confused with multiple vacationers coming in. There were a lot of issues with food supplies running out daily like coffee certain liquor as well they always ran out of wine. Housekeeping not great we didn’t get clean towels, floors not swept and bathroom not cleaned daily. elevator, hallways and stairwell very dirty a [... read more]nd rarely done. Less than half the staff spoke English and didn’t understand what was asked most of the time but staff always had smiles and were polite. So to sum it up if you are going for some sun great please understand you will not starve or not have booze just not what you want a lot of times price is good so you choose

Club Kawama: Kawama

Just got back from Cuba The resort is beautiful a very quiet, one which I enjoyed. Staff was wonderful and very polite. No need to say anything about the food because it is Cuba but we brought things and went out for pizza and spaghetti and had a great time. Will return there.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Relaxing vacation at Grand Aston!

We had a great vacation at Grand Aston! The hotel is very nice and we enjoyed lounging by the pool. It is true that you must be up early to reserve a chair but it was worth it! The beach was not as nice as other places in Cuba and not a beach suitable for long walks but still lovely to be by the ocean. Animation team was good and we appreciated their efforts trying to get guests engaged, we enjoyed the nightly shows with the synchronized swimming being our favourite! We did the hop-on-hop-off bus to Varadero from the hotel, I wouldn’t waste a sunny day for this but it was a good way to spend a cloudy afternoon. The food was good, we always found something we enjoyed however it is repetitive. We did not get good service at the buffet, rarely would even get served water but I think this is due to a lack of staff. We did not have issue booking al-a cartes and enjoyed the Cuban and Japanese restaurants. Sports bar was great! It might not be “exceptional” however it provided us a relaxing and enjoyable vacation!

Hotel Playa Coco: Nice Resort

We had a great room on the 2nd floor with Oceanview. The pool area was lovely. We spent all our time around the pool. It was a windy week, so it was quite chilly by the ocean and the water was very rough, so we opted to stay around the pool. We did go on a lot of beach walks, which were lovely. The food was not so great. It seems things have really changed in Cuba since Covid. We are by no means picky eaters, or complainers when it comes to the food in Cuba, but I have to say that I w [... read more]as pretty bored with it after a couple of days. It just seemed the same things everyday. I do understand that things are difficult for them to get, so I do get it. We have been to Memories before, which is right next door to Playa Coco. It didn't seem like they had any shortages of food, from what I saw. We did go away just to relax and we did do that, so that was the main thing. Cuba does have the most beautiful beaches and that's what keeps bringing us back there.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great vacation overall

The beach, pools and the hotel area is probably the best thing to enjoy at this resort! The food is okay, service as well, but overall a great experience! Always nice to get away even for 4 days this was great

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Top Notch Resort

This resort is outstanding in every way. Beautiful grounds, outstanding service, rooms are lovely and the food was really good. They have 4 Ala carte restaurants all of which are really good. We upgraded to Royal side and that takes everything to another level! The beach was amazing!

Hotel Atlantico: Very neat place.

People expecting a 5 star resort should save up and and go to one. if you're like me and want a beautifull beach front resort and 20 minutes to havana You might just like this place. The staff are really helpfull. You won't starve, if you need a change of diet there are great affordable restaurants. nearby and in Havana. I guess its just a question of what you are lookin for. Return bussfare tickets to Havana are just 5 bucks,

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Beautiful resort but lacking a lot

I have stayed in Cuba numerous times and this was the first time I was staying at Cayo Coco/Cayo Cruz. The resort was beautiful as it was fairly new, the beach great but the lack of food and lack of customer service was definitely a disappointment. I know Cuba has its shortcomings due to their situation, but I had never been this disappointed. Tips were expected with not much service given. I will wait several years before going back to Cuba.
