Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Not Luxury, Not 5 stars

The grounds are beautiful and the pools are nice (did not swim though, too cold) and the floor to ceiling windows in the buffet and Alux look nice. It ends there. We felt unwelcomed the entire stay. We stayed in the luxury superior penthouse with jacuzzi. The room is really dated and needs a good paint job and colorful art. It was so drabby. The AC is loud and there was a consistent screech every 20-30 seconds which we reported to the front desk but it didn't get looked after until 24 hr [... read more]s later by the butler! The jacuzzi is dated and kept draining away. Maintenance fixed it on the last night. Walls are thin, I'll leave that to your imagination what we heard. Beds were uncomfortable, but excruciating back and neck pain for days. Tons of food choices but average (despite Mexico's rep for great food). Trolley takes you to other resorts (BP Tulum, Akumal, Coba) - also beautiful grounds and lobby - beach at Tulum resort is full of weeds and there are bumps in the water to break the waves. Can't comment on other beach. Small casino with bar. Black Jack, poker, roulette and slot machines. 5 min taxi to Akumel is 270 pesos or 18$ USD. Akumel to Tulum 400 pesos.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Fantastic Time

The resort was fantastic. The hotel room was clean, and spacious for a family of 4. The common washrooms by the pool And beach were very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good with lots of options.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Wonderful Resort

The resort was wonderful, it was clean and staff very friendly, pools wonderful lots of lounge chairs, poolside massages amazing by Ruth I had 3 of them, food at the a la cartel restaurants fabulous. The only thing not impressed with was the housekeeping gave her over 5 hours to clean room and it still was not ready, did not do anything fancy on the bed with the towels like other resorts. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Absolutely amazing!

This was such an amazing experience. The little touches made all the difference. Super clean and the staff are top notch! Would highly recommend and will be back! The meal choices are plentiful. Our favourite was Mikado! Shoutout to some of our favourite staff: Francisco Florida and Nicaury! They are the best!

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Great Christmas idea for the family

This was our first time staying at a Grand Bahia Principe Resort and first time in La Romana. This hotel chain is well staffed with friendly people and beautiful accommodations for the price point. The grounds were immaculately appointed and maintained. Well worth it for families with great amenities, shops, pools and restaurants. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great Resort

This resort was perfect for a family! In general all the staff was friendly and helpful! The food was amazing and they went above and beyond at New Years! My only complaint would be the animation team at the end of the week was horrible.

Everything was amazing. A little disappointed about activities around the pool. we had 9 grandkids with us who loved the dancing. After the first 2 days the activity people were entertaining themselves. Some evenings there was nothing to do in the lounge.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: It Met Our Expectations with Some Exceptions

The Sian Ka'an was fine. There was a load mechanical banging sound that was very irritating in our suite. This would literally occur at all hours. It sounded like electrical relays...but of an industrial type. It would wake me. Not pleasant. The layout of this resort (maze) is not well marked. We were, as were others, pretty confused about directions back to our suite from the lobby. Many of the staff we met on the paths couldn't really help or didn't know where the suite was. You do, finally,  [... read more]get used to it. I did find the bar staff push alcohol a bit too much. We didn't find this in Cuba, for comparison. It wasn't all of them but a few. There was a big emphasis on this, even at breakfast. Again, by only a few. Who drinks tequila at breakfast? One last thing...we spoke to an American couple about the service at the resort and they found that some of the staff had a little edge as opposed to being eager and service-minded. I got a hint of that a couple of times but we found it dissipated with respect and kindness. My son had the misfortune of playing volleyball with a man who ended up having some sort of extremely serious medical episode (probably heart attack) on the beach. This man dropped right in front of our son's eyes. The response/ readiness of the staff to handle this emergency was pathetic and incompetent. And this cannot be overstated. This man probably died. We can't know if he did and we wouldn't believe what the staff said anyway. This is, needless to say, beyond unacceptable. The attitude among some of the staff was "Oh well, these things happen". This episode literally ruined our last full day at the resort. My son was very upset by what he saw. There is no way anyone could say that everything possible was done to help this man - because it wasn't. As travel advisors with the power to sway tourist traffic I believe it is part of your responsibility to lean on these resorts to ensure proper training of at least a few key people in various areas of the resort at all times or to warn your clients that things could get ugly fast in the event of a medical emergency....let alone the scams that go on with the hospitals, doctors and medical transport in Mexico. It's really unbelievable what goes on down there with most Canadians blissfully unaware of the potential for disaster. Do some online research first. And, thank God, most of us won't have to suffer any of this. But for those who do? The worst nightmare of their lives. This is real. We watched it. Although the physical amenities and food were fine it is this last issue which would cause me not to recommend this resort or, in fact, Mexico as a destination. We will be considering this more thoroughly but feel other destinations might be more suitable for us. We realize that there are issues throughout the Caribbean and that there is poverty and corruption throughout many of the Caribbean countries. It is not a perfect world.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Clean resort

Very Clean Resort Love the remodelling. The resort was due for a update and it is marvelous! Love the swim ups. Clean rooms. Close to the main lobby and beach front. Staff work really hard at making us happy. Thanks Carlos and Pablo for putting smiles on the faces of your staff. Happy staff equals happy experience.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Great Relaxing Enviroment

My wife and I stayed at this resort over the holidays and very much enjoyed our experience. The location takes a bit of time to travel to once you arrive, but is worth it for the exclusive location. You are on a private island that requires a short boat trip, but creates the exclusive and luxury experience. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Our room in particular had an ocean view which was spectacular given the oversized balcony with great patio furniture. The only downside to our r [... read more]oom was that there were ants in and around the toilet area. This got pretty bad the one day and when we called down to have the resort assist, there was some confusion given the language barrier. Regardless, a couple hours later the resort staff came into assist. The food and dinning experience at this resort was very good. The different restaurants provided excellent experiences. In addition, the breakfast and lunch buffets were delightful as well. The hotel/island grounds were beautiful and well kept. Could not have asked for a better private beach or cleaner pools. The only downside to this resort is the english language barrier. Some of the key staff who you would expect to have "good" proficiency with the language were very poor. THis being the front desk and guest services representatives. The only other advisory would be to check and plan your excursions carefully, if they end mid morning you are stuck waiting for the boat until noon as only a few go to and from the mainland. I was personally stuck after one from 9:30 am until 11:45 am as they would not send a boat over for 5 of us after the excursion. THis wasted half a day. Overall I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a true relaxing get away.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Perfect vacation

Hotel was very clean, staff were amazing and friendly. Food was very good with lots of variety and the presentation was great. Room was nice and clean. Five minute walk to town either by the road or the beach. Very easy to book restaurants and excursions.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Wonderful resort

a well groomed property perched on the perfect ocean beach. White sand, aquamarine blue water that was crystal clear. Water temperature was perfect! Lots of wonderful meals and staff could not do enough to make our stay the best.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent place!

The grounds were always in tip-top shape. Line ups to get drinks always moved quickly and smoothly. Restaurants were amazing + buffet had tonnes of different food. A lot of different pools, so you're bound to find at least 1 that suits your needs. Shuttle to the beach only takes around 5 to 10 minutes.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great time at the resort!

The grounds were beautifully kept. The staff were always smiling and able to assist us with whatever we needed. Our rooms were immaculate and well-cleaned. It was a wonderful relaxing stay. The espresso/cappuccino machine in the main lobby was self serve 24/7! Best idea ever! A special shout-out to Christina the girl at the towel booth. She was a wonderful asset to the resort. Smiling and kind.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Another Great Vacation!

Third time at Bahia Principe, first time at Fantasia. Once again, had a great vacation!! The service, accommodations, beach, entertainment and food was excellent. Fantasia is a great place for a family as well as for the grown ups. We spent mornings at beach and Punta Cana Pool/Bar, afternoon at the Fantasia water slides and finished the days at the Fantasia pools. People working at the resort very friendly. Resort is stunning. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Unbelievable service

We continue to return as the employees give exceptional service. Early morning breakfast at Cozumel with Kary & Andre is a great way to start the day. Suggestions for dining..leGourmet, Mashua (best salmon) Portofino (Italian, we however recommend the tuna). Rooms are clean & a request for a bed topper was handled promptly. The gardens are lovely, well maintained property. Best are the people, courteous,friendly & hard working.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Great vacation!

Overall, we had a great vacation at this resort. It certainly isn't overly luxurious but it's nice and clean and great value for the money! The pools are gorgeous and they make the best of the small beach that is available. We loved that it is so close to town and we ventured there a few times during our stay. The food is as good as any all inclusive I have been to.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: A Dream

Upon arrival it looked amazing although we had a problem from the start. I did inform you about my daughter's health issues our room was on the 3rd floor walkup, we had to wait in the lobby for over an hour to get a ground floor room. My daughter had to travel in a wheel chair and was on oxygen, it was an exhausting day. We were to see a Transat representative the next day but due to the first day we could not make it my daughter was tooo sick. When we went to see the rep. he was rude and very nasty told us to figure out ourselves any information about leaving etc. We tried to explain what happened he said he did not care. Only because of Lisa our butler did I have second thoughts.
