Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: beautiful resort.

Hotel. and rom spacy,Clean and with fantastic service.This resort has four swimming pools with Aqua fitness everyday and all the time.We loved the games that we enjoyed during the day.People were very friendly with the smile all the time.Our battler was taking very nice care of us. Thank you for sugesting this płace for us and l wish to go there one more time.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful resort

Grounds and staff awesome Best thing was the constant entertainment - we were out and about the resort every night lots of people enjoying the various bars and great music . The resort spends on local entertainment - bands and musicians !!! So more lively then the usual . The food was poor - result of the political situation ??? Nice beach great pools not a boring place

Very nice facilities and staff. Excellent stretch of beach. Close enough to the commercial area to walk easily and check out some touristy shopping and dining spots. Food at the buffet was reasonably good quality but preparation is lacking I.e. often overcooked or undercooked (potato and fish particularly most of the time). Al la cart dining was not a good experience, both times too salty to eat and the meal didn’t match the menu description very well. Mojitos made with lemon lime soda instead of real lime a couple of times, should be illegal in this country lol. Still most likely one of the best places to stay in Varadero.

Barcelo Solymar: Good value for price

Public areas of the hotel were very clean. Staff were always cleaning floors and sweeping outside areas. Maids did a good job of making up the room daily. Maintenance responded quickly when we reported an issue with our balcony door.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Just Okay

It is a nice looking resort, and they treat you quite well in the Sanctuary section. We were upgraded to a ground floor suite at no cost which was a nice surprise. The Sanctuary section is a nice oasis in the much larger Grand Memories resort, and we enjoyed having our own amenities (especially the pool and lounge bar). While service overall was good, the food itself was very hit and miss - one a la carte (Oriental) had really good food, others were okay or not very good. If you're looking for a cheap getaway, and really don't care about the food, it's a pretty good value.

Barcelo Solymar: Great Resort

We enjoyed everything about our vacation. We stayed in a bungalow superior. The room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping staff were efficient and pleasant. Pool towels were provided in room which we had no problem exchanging when required. We could always find something enjoyable at the buffet. Our only complaint would be that other than food served off the grill it was not very hot. The staff in the restaurants and throughout the resort were friendly and courteous to everyone. We enjoyed the location of the hotel which allows for easy walking throughout the town. We are repeat guests and will definitely be planning a return visit.

Club Kawama: Club Kawama

Loved my visit here. Beautiful beach. Amazing array of food, prepared with a lot of care. Walking distance to many interesting places. Staff friendly, as long as you tip periodically. This is a three star resort and is what you can expect for this rating. The beach is easily a five star!

Melia Las Americas: Resort is good but not good entertainment

Buffet is good but dont have much variations. Agent cannot be reached. Room is great cleaned and new. Not enough pool. The other pool at the Level are under renovations but the agent from Hola sun didnt inform us. Unexpected situation.

Roc Barlovento: Great little Gem

We have been repeaters to this resort for approximately 8 years and generally go twice a year. We love the location. The beach is great and is walking distance to the market and downtown. Rooms are moderate and clean.

Melia Marina Varadero: Melia Marina Varadero

The room is very large, clean, beautiful and great view. The beach is good and most of chairs are broken, few of them is very bad should throw away. Many sea weeds on the beach on windy days but no one clean up (probably clean up next day). The food is OK but some very bad such as finger claim was smelly and uneatable. Kidney beans and hot dogs were sour probably from left over from previous day. It is OK to serve the left over foods if they are still good to eat (the chef should taste them firs [... read more]t). The services are good in most areas but the receptionists are not very helpful. WIFI only available in the main lobby and very slow and hard to login. It is not a good place for people want to have a working vacation (using your PC). The swimming pool is not well organize, many chairs are taken for entire day but see no one using then for 4-5 hours, therefore not enough chairs for others. Coffee in buffet restaurant is not very good compare to others in Cuba with same stars.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Nice resort

The hotel was nice, food was decent for a Cuban resort... there were always a few basic things missing like lemon for the fish or ketchup for fries but not a big deal. The staff made our trip, everyone was always happy and wanting to do their best to help. Thank you Tammy for booking our last minute trip

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Worst resort in Varadero

We have been to Varadero almost 10 times, and stayed at several different resorts, and this one was horrible. The service was the worst; we paid over $400 on the 3rd day to switch. Best decision we made.

Los Delfines: Location best about hotel

This hotel is absolutely the best down town Varadaro location, however, you have to be willing to eat out at the locale restaurants as what we have done our last three stays here. Unfortunately this last stay here in Jan. 2020 the food was ever less appealing that our two previous stays. (Two mornings no bread or eggs) So even a light breakfast was not possible. We didn't even try lunch or dinner in the buffet restaurant. On two occasions the pool bar was out of beer??? Lots of staff, how [... read more]ever, most are not trained very well or supervised as they can be loud and disruptive in public areas. Lots of small maintenance jobs to be done such as no water in the kids pool, cracked or missing tiles galore. Most of the common area bathrooms were working this time. The beach is great, but lots of smokers who seem to think it is alright to drop their butts in the sand. I saw one staff picking up butts one day only and he only did a small area. We will be looking at different properties next year.

Melia Las Antillas: Very friendly and patient staff!

Staff :quick at answering our requests more water bottles and towels and fixing water leak near door..Room is spacious enough. Beds/mattresses comfy..Quiet, good for sleeping in..Bathroom clean. Eating areas very close and convenient. Food :ok, a bit monotonous, but not inedible. For me, best items on the menu were some tropical fruts guavas and papayas. My roommate preferred the deserts (multiple choices of cakes!) Weather was great, but we were very very lucky.

Playa Vista Azul: Amazing Resort/ Best Time Ever

First off, my friends and I have been to Cuba at least twice a year. This was hands down the best resort we have ever stayed at in Cuba - and we’ve been to MANY. Privilege section was more than worth the money! We had an incredible room with a view of the privledge pool and ocean. We had a living room, wrap around deck, walk-in closet, room service, private bar with the best pina coladas - the total works! Mikel was the best bartender we could ask for. We never encountered a single employee who was anything but helpful and truly pleasant to deal with. the Sunsets at the infinity pool were out of this world! Absolutely must take the time to see them. Food overall was the best we’ve ever had in Cuba — lobster, shrimp, chicken, all great! The only thing worth mentioning was that the beach was a little small and there were not enough umbrellas to accommodate everyone.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Disgusting Resort

We booked an Air Canada vacation package with you for Cuba , Varadero from January 13, 2020 to Jan. 20, 2020 at Paradisus Princesa Del Mar. When we reached the hotel and checked in, the room was so un welcoming that there was insufficient light, TV was not working, washroom was not equipped with soap and water in tap was at very low pressure. We called the customer service several times as they kept on hanging on us. We went for dinner and to our surprise there was not much food left in the  [... read more]serving trays, no one refilled them. What ever Food was left the Quality was very poor and cold. That night we had to sleep hungry. Next morning we went and met our Air Canada Rep Ahmed and explained him the whole situation. He understood our concerns and immediately arranged to find us alternate hotel at Melia Internacional at an extra price of CAD $382 and transfer of CAD$ 20 a total of $402.00 Just before leaving Princesa Del Mar, the service manager and supervisor came to our room to enquire about our concerns and upon checking they found we were right. They were so upset that they when they called customer service, they were hung up on them. They checked the TV was not working and also when they checked the washroom, there was no soap and water pressure was low. Now our question is when you advertise this facility as 5 star, you don't expect this type of service. One day of our trip was wasted in moving. We need the extra expense to be refunded and compensate the inconvenience and loss of one day of vacation. Air Canada Rep. Ahmed told us that he was sending a complete report of our experience to Air Canada customer service. We would appreciate an early response on our experience with Air Canada vacation and do the needful.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Nice resort

We enjoyed our stay at Iberostar Laguna Azul. Beach is beautiful and so are the pools. Daily entertainment last about 1 hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. They do all the different activities during this hour and after that there is nothing. Food was ok we always found something to eat. We saw the change in food and room cleaning and daily activities as they worked for the survey. For example no towel art and on day of survey we got one. No fresh veggies and on survey day there [... read more] was brocoli and coliflour and lobster. On survey day they had more games to entertain people. We wish that hotels would always have same service and entertainment and quality of food on a regular basis and not only on survey week. Because people pay to go on vacation and expect the same quality weather its survey week or not. This is for every hotels and every country not just this one. We see the difference in every department when they are expecting the survey. And they get it every 2 weeks. So hopefully you are there on survey week. One last thing is that it is smokers paradise. So if you are non smokers you might not like to be in smoke everywhere you sit. The only place was in restaurants where no smoking is aloud. Also there is no free wifi and it's only available in the lobby or theatre. We met nice people and specially our waitress Elizabeth at the buffet restaurant who was always very welcoming and provided the best service.

Memories Jibacoa: Cut above, snorkelling Cuban dream near Havana.

This resort provides great meals, a bountiful buffet and great location for those who love snorkelling. Rooms a well maintained and have great views. Staff are courteous and helpful. The beach has an amazing coral reef starting close to shore. Recommend “Diamond Club” package.

Melia Internacional: Gorgeous, modern, well appointed resort!

I've travelled to several resorts across Cuba the last decade, often returning multiple times to one that raised the bar and offered a superior experices to past resorts. Melia Internacional was by far the best experience to-date! Spacious, clean, modern, with professional staff, great food, and plenty of space for all to dine, relax by the pool or beach, and enjoy some lounge time in one of the multiple lounges the hotel offers. The facility had multiple elevators making getting around v [... read more]ery easy for anyone with mobility restrictions, and all the restaurants were within the building, no walking long distances for any ammenities. The staff were courteous, friendly without being imposing, and helpful. Meals were great. The quality of the food was the best I've had yet (in Cuba). During and after my stay I commented that I didn't have a single thing to complain about...only postive remarks about a wonderful stay. Sadly that's rare when visiting Cuba, as different cultures have different expectations and something often isn't as expected, whether it's cleanliness of public washrooms, or supplying toiletries in the hotel rooms, sometimes its a small thing that can dampen an otherwise great epxerience. I'm happy to say that there was none of that on this past trip, unlike the other families I overheard complaining about their resorts at the airport...thank goodness we didn't stay where they did! All the positive things were wonderful and I offer this as some opportunities for further improvement: Promptness of check-in (30 minute wait was unnecessary, and sadly the longest I've experienced of any hotels in Cuba, yet this was a beautiful stay so that 30 minute wait was quickly forgotten); Limiting a la carte restaurants to a few times per week (unfortunate policy that IMHO take this resort from a solid 5 star (Cuban) to a 4.5 alone); Limited group exercise (acquafit, yoga, etc.). Didn't see much of that, which was fine but it's also a nice way to start your day in an active way. Again, wonderful vacation at a wonderful resort. Much appreicated and I look forward to returing in the near future.

This hotel is rated a 5 star. The weather and beach are 5 stars the rest not so much. The grounds are well kept with lots of digging on the property. The public areas are clean and well kept.
