This was a great resort. We felt welcome as soon as we arrived. Check-in was quick and smooth. The room was awesome...fun decor, comfortable bed, lots of storage and very clean. The restaurants and bars were friendly and very efficient. The lounge chairs were very comfortable and there were always plenty of towels. The pool area was fun with many great activities and the beach was second to none! The lazy river was also a favourite. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Beautiful resort

Beautiful Resort. Everything was great. We loved the food, activities and entertainment. Kids Club was amazing. Lots of activities. They get kids involved in shows. The Teens Club was also great. Our whole family loved the resort. We celebrated our daughter's birthday... they made a cake and sang for her. The Restaurants were amazing. We enjoyed the service and the food. Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Rustic Charm

Upon stepping into the hotel lobby one glance to our right revealed a lovely oasis with a pool. The restaurant overlooked this area and provided a nice shady area to eat. The staff were responsive and attentive and happy to assist. The hotel is older and from a different era, that was part of its charm. There was easy access a half a block away to the buses that ran frequently to the Center and Malecón. It was a quick five minute walk to the beach. Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Good but needs change.

The Barcelo resort itself is beautiful. This was our 10th time there over the last 15 years. The trouble is that some rooms are showing their age - Furniture coming apart, plumbing issues... We booked the Beach (updated) but were bumped to the Tropical. The service has gone down in the buffets, especially the beach restaurants and selection diminished. While unfortunate, if you can get a good deal it is still worth going to the resort.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Beautiful grounds; rocky beach

The grounds of the hotel complex are beautiful and very well maintained. The lobby is very spacious and clean. The swimming pools were clean. The sports facilities including the paddleball and tennis/pickleball courts were in good condition. The swimming area in the ocean was quite rocky, although there were a couple of areas where one could attempt to thread one's way through back to shore. The room had two telephones, neither of which functioned upon arrival. These were finally repaired on the second day. The toilet was constantly flushing and then stopped working altogether. It took two days and three repair people to eventually repair this, with the toilet ultimate repaired at midnight on the second day (I was asked if the repair could wait until the morning of the third day, which I declined). A hot shower was non-existent during my entire stay. I was told to let the water run. After doing so for 15 minutes each time, the water temperature never even reached lukewarm. One day out of seven I once managed to get warm water in the sink. The luxury did not extend to the shower. Housekeeping made the beds and changed the towels, but the floor was certainly never cleaned. The main buffet offered a wide variety of options and food temperatures were usually quite good. Service was good on two mornings (when Daniel took care of our table), however the rest of the time, service was barely minimal. When we were forced to go to the Tropical buffet on two occasions, we received no service whatsoever. The à la carte dining experience was better, with the exception of the Italian restaurant at the Tropical. The Kyoto teppanyaki was excellent, as was the Brasserie restaurant at the Palace.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Absolutely Amazing Resort!!

The grounds are beautiful!!! The rooms are very comfortable, clean and has everything you need. All restaurants are amazing! This is my 4th time to this resort and it won't be my last ! Can't wait until next time !

Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres: Not so Majestic anymore

Elegance Club check-in took over 90 minutes. We were asked to wait in the lounge where snacks and drinks are available. This area did not provide anything close to an Elegance experience. We ended up checking in at the Front Desk in the lobby. Day three we had to switch rooms due to flooding from room above us. Guest services seem more interested in handling less complicated matters. The concierge was more than kind though and tried very hard to help us. We received a complimentary relaxation m [... read more]assage for our inconvenience which upon check-out were asked to pay $400.00 USD. Thankfully another employee stepped in and provided us with a credit. Vacation time is precious to all of us and we should not have to be put through unnecessary stress. Management? seems non- existent. This was my third stay here and will be my last.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun: A great resort!

We had a wonderful time at the resort and loved the boutique-like feel. We found it super clean everywhere. The staff were all amazing, friendly and went out of their way to help you. The beach was really nice, though breezy every day. They were cleaning sea weed on the beach twice daily when we were there but you could easily avoid it in the water. All the food we had was great and the drinks too! We really didn’t like the chair hogs, however that comes at every resort. And the locals th [... read more]at came in twice through the week to sell their wares we found to be extremely rude and pushy when trying to look at their stuff.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Nice hotel, terrible service

The hotel itself was lovely. The grounds were well kept, the wildlife in the resort is amazing and the rooms are very nice and clean (we had the family suite) Unfortunately, that is where it ends, the hotel is very understaffed. You wait hours in line for any buffet, if you want to book an A La carte, that is almost impossible as their app barely works, or you have to line up at 6:30am (Mon & Thurs only) to try and get a reservation. The beach is nice, but you definitely need water shoes if you want to go in the ocean due to all of the rocks.

Kore Tulum Retreat Wellness Resort: Not worth the money.

- Breakfast food was okay - same food for 6 days no change whatsoever. - food the first day was buffet and cold. - Second day - Asian and the sauce was very salty - we didn't finish the food - Third day was Italian - food was okay but all their dessert from menu were not available and you only find out when you ask. No info in advance. They also don't know how to explain why there is no desert. Im fluent in Spanish btw. - Fourth day: Creme Brûlée was a pudim and when i went to talk to t [... read more]he waiter I was told that was Mexican style. It was again Italian night. Same food as previous day. The "Greek Salad" was tasty but again it was not Greek. - Red wine is always chilled - Cheesecake was a simple cale as per picture. - 2 nights steak back to back. Recreation: - Non existent. Other than music there were zero activity. - Not enough chairs for the guests to seat by the pool. Spa The ladies were wonderful. No complains. The steam room was cold. The service was great 10:10 Room: - Internet didn't work 70% of the time for a simple phone call. - Shower water didnt have pressure and we spent 1 full day without water to shower or brush teeth and no communication on why this happened. When we asked them, they told us that something had broken. - We didnt have hot water for 2 days. - The phone in the room didn't work, the other couple the tv didn't work. - It took 5 hours to fill the jacuzzi and it supposed to be 40 minutes according to them. - Housekeeping arrives to clean at 8:30-9am knocking and waking you up. - No warm water or hot water in the room for 4 days. - No water 1 day in the whole resort. - No communication about the shortcomings - Phone didnt work the entire trip. We asked the reception to fix numerous time. Staff: - Freddy and George were the highlight. They should train the other employees. Most of them were friendly. - One staff was argumentative over the creme brule not being creme brule and he just shrub me off. The bike: You can take the bike which is nice but no process for guests. When you go get the bike they send you back to the reception to get a paper to fill out. Tulum National Park- I couldn't get because there was police with heavy artillery looking inside cars for water bottles. After you pass that there were guards charging 60 pesos to enter and no cards or dollar. - no where written down about the process.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Generally amazing, subject to some minor irritations

We were extremely pleased with this resort. It was very clean, safe and comfortable. We found the buffet had the best food overall. My wife is celiac and the manager Mario was extremely conscientious about making sure her dietary needs were accommodated. It was really nice to be able to dine out and not have to stress about gluten. I would say that the food handling overall was excellent. The water where we were wasn’t really suitable for swimming because of jagged rocks under the sand - but we were happy to sit back and enjoy the beautiful view. We had a swim up room which was delightful. It was spacious and well laid out. The furniture in the room was - how to put this delicately? - well used. The mattress sagged and was soft and the bed sheets were non breathable, meaning we kept waking up because we were too hot or too cold. We still managed to sleep, but couldn’t keep our bodies at a comfortable temperature. The deck furniture was made of molded plastic. It wasn’t terrible but it seemed better suited for bus shelter than a premium resort. I don’t want these minor complaints to overshadow what was generally an excellent experience. The staff were delightful, the food was high quality and physical space was impressive.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: In need of updating

The complex and grounds were well maintained but dated. The rooms would benefit from upgrades such as coffee makers and refrigerators. Door security is questionable in that both the entry door and patio doors are loose and rattle with the wind.. The beach was beautiful, the staff were accommodating and very friendly. The buffets were adequate but underwhelming.

Grand Oasis Palm: Great resort!

We had an awesome time at this resort! The rooms were very clean, the food was delicious (lots of variety) and the staff were fantastic! Would be great if there was umbrellas around the pool loungers as that sun is intense. We would definitely return to grand oasis palm!

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort all the way

It’s what we needed to relax and enjoy everyday to the fullest. The staff was so caring and attentive to our needs. The food was so delicious and plentiful. The room was 100% excellent. We will definitely recommend this resort to all of our friends.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: A paradise of dreams come true

From the moment we arrived, our stay was 100% amazing. The entire staff a big 2 thumbs up. Would recommend this oasis to all our friends. The service top notch and the rooms very elegant and modern. A resort to visit.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Enjoyed our stay

The blue bay is beautiful. It seems like and wcoresort with its " jungles" and waterways everywhere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They enhance your stay. They are quick to accommodate you and ever pleasant. The food is easily the best we've ever experienced on resorts. They do not run short and there is a good variety. We so enjoyed the buffet that we didn't even try the a la Cartes. Also, they mix great drinks! The downfall is the beach; it is nice, but the water off of it  [... read more]is not pleasant. It's very dirty, presumably from the sand bunkers they have off shore to minimize debris. The beaches on either side are nice and not a long walk.

So we had left the restro without eating food and didn't celebrate birthday there. 3). Beach there can not be used. Means you can not go into the water as water is not clean & reef keeps coming on to the shore. You can walk on the beach but can't sit and enjoy as there is stink in the water. Their pool is right along side the beach so you can enjoy the oceanside view but can't be in the beach water.. If you are looking for a beach to relax in, this isn't the resort for you

In general it was a good stay - I could be convinced to go back to this hotel, but there are some problems that need to be addressed. The theme of this experience is friendly but ineffective. I come from Canada and was not able to sleep with it. So hot. Staff The staff were friendlier and more accommodating than I am used to in other hotels. I really felt that they were going out of their way to help make my holiday a good one. My issue with the staff was only that they tended to overserve alcohol and on more than one occasion I saw people having to be dragged unconscious from the swimming pool. There was no attempt to control people smoking which happen frequently in non-smoking areas, including snack bar despite signage. In three separate incidents things were stolen from my room, some toiletries, a hat stand and a small amount of money. The hotel did nothing to compensate me for this. Some friends also had toiletries stolen from their room with the same result. Food The food in the coba and Tulum resorts was average. I was surprised that the buffet was a little better than I am used to in hotels in this price range, and also surprised that the à la carte restaurants were a little less good. I. Particular Le gourmet stood out as being no better than the buffet, though the service and ambiance was excellent.

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Not a 4 star hotel

Grounds were well kept clean there were people out daily cleaning. Pool area has a lot of tiles that need replaced. Food was pretty good for the most part (Al a carte mediocre). Rooms were clean but need updating they had double beds (and we had 3 adults) and bunk beds with no blankets. Had one very rude staff member when calling to the desk but the rest of staff was nice. Our sliding door did not lock so it had to be repaired but still had a gap (it was the person I talked to about this who [... read more] was very rude) Entire hotel needs upgrades!

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Decent Resort

Grounds clean Specialty Restaurants difficult to book and food is mediocre. Buffet - lots of options but nothing special. Rooms - Great - keep an eye on your personal items everyday Entertainment - daily - okay, Night - usual AI parties, I enjoyed the silent party Beach - some seaweed, Windy most of the time, Water rough most of the time.
