Allegro Cozumel: Another Great Vacation at the Allegro

We have been to the Allegro before and we're excited to go back again. The recent renovations were lovely and gave the resort a much needed freshening up. The food has also improved and the buffet and a la cartes are all excellent. What makes this resort is the staff. They are friendly, attentive and work very hard to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. The rooms are beautiful and the new beds very comfortable. Love the new bathrooms. This is a very family friendly resort. My only critique wo [... read more]uld be that the resort needs to have an adult area that is enforced so those of us vacationing without children can do so without kids all over the place. We love the Allegro and will definitely return.

Occidental Caribe: A wonderful, amazing resort

I thought the resort had much to offer, there was a party area when I wanted to be entertained and then there was a quiet pool area were I could relax and enjoy myself. I thought the resort was big enough that you could walk around and enjoy the sites and the building and the pools areas and beach, the beach bar was close enough to get to.. Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great resort

The resort is very clean and the staff is very helpful. The buffets are huge and the la a carts were just amazing. The beach is just gorgeous. There is so many pools to choose from for your days activities ..

Barcelo Karmina: Good

One minus no beach!!! and please make sure you advise people who come to visit that resort that leaving towel in the morning (meaning that is your chair and you coming back) do not touch, many people do not know this.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: This resort was absolutley beautiful!

the Barcelo maya Colonial resort in Maya Riviera Mexico was amazing. the service, the food , the weather could not have been better! The tours are spectacular too. We went ziplining and went to the Tulum ruins. It was a great day. We had a traditional mayan lunch and saw some beautiful greenscape. I would really recommend this resort to anyone wanting to go to Mexico. We stayed at the Barcelo Maya Beach resort the last time we went which was equally as nice but on a smaller scale. The ala cartes [... read more] were delicious with a wide variety of restaurants including Japenese.

Occidental Cozumel: Beautiful resort

The Hotel resort was impeccable. The food was very good. Restaurants a la carte not very interesting. The $500 dollars savings at the Resort as offered was not as described, it was only discounts. People are very nice.

Occidental Punta Cana: Amazing resort

This was our fourth year coming to this resort. It has new owners and the rooms and bathrooms have been completely transformed. Everything is very modern and I loved the shower. It had a big shower head like a rain shower and a hand held. Plumbing is great and lots of hot water. We missed the old style rooms but most younger people I'm sure would prefer them. We were disappointed that the new rule for the alacarts is the men have to have long pants and closed shoes. We thought that was not very fair since women can wear shorts and sandles. The steakhouse alacart was awesome. The service was good in all restaurants but again we always tip. One dollar is really appreciated. We noticed this year that very few people tipped. These servers are very poor and need that little bit!!! The grounds are kept very clean and the workers are constantly busy. We miss the flowered hedges. They took them out for some reason. Allegro Cozumel: Beautiful Resort Don't Go For the Food!!

We stayed at this resort from Jan 16-23rd. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the weather was fantastic. All the staff were always working very hard everywhere you looked. Fantastic service from Darwin at the Pool bar and keeping us always topped up with fresh drinks. As well Alejandro at the buffet and snack bar, always keeping us smiling and laughing. The only real complai [... read more]nt we had was that the hotel was not at full capacity but there was ALWAYS a line up at the buffet. The food in the buffet was not up to par for a supposed 4 star resort. I have had better food in Cuba. The A La Carte restaurants that we went to, Italian and Mexican again were not up to par. I left after 1 week thankful to not have to eat anymore food from the buffet. We took our son to swim with the dolphins at Chakanaba and it was fantastic! The park was beautiful and the food that was included at the restaurant with our pass was the best we had all week. The rooms were clean but walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbours easily. We would not return simply because of the buffet, more because every time you went in there were tons of empty tables but always a huge line up. And Food quality was poor.

Occidental Caribe: Great value for the money

this hotel has the best beach front in Punta Cana lots of areas to sit in the sun and shade with plenty of lounges. Pool had a goof vibe and kept everyone happy involved as many as possible. Bubble day was great. Restaurants were fine not spectacular, buffet was good some repeats. Had a great vacatin

Barcelo Solymar: Barcelo Solymar

Beautiful resort with lots of activities and live entertainment. Food is terrible, and the bathroom are in very rough shape. Would recommend this resort for anyone in there 20s that wants to party. Take some antibiotics before your travel to avoid getting sick. It's not fun when it happens

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Can't beat the beach and pool area!

Our family (kids aged 6 & 7) travelled to Barceló Maya Colonial between Jan. 13-20, 2017. Overall, we loved the resort and would highly recommend it. First the positives, the beach and pool area were phenomenal. Beautiful white sand and expansive beach since you can walk the length of the 4 Barceló hotels which are side by side. Bring water shoes though if you want to go in the ocean since it can be a rocky entry. There are countless pools so they never feel crowded. The property is kept immac [... read more]ulately clean. Lots of wild life (giant grasshoppers, iguanas) and dolphins on the property, which the kids loved. Our boys also love Pokémon Go and there were a ton of Pokestops and gyms on the property. The kids waterpark was amazing - the one on the Colonial property had fantastic slides and was good for toddlers up to pre-teens. We used the kids club several times and the boys enjoyed going there. Nothing fancy - we wished that they would vary the schedule a bit. We really enjoyed the buffets and a la carte restaurants and thought the food was excellent. Although this is a huge resort and was booked to capacity, we never had trouble getting loungers at the pool or beach, even late morning. Restaurants seemed half empty and service was always very prompt and, for the most part, friendly. Our only complaint was that the room seemed musty and the beds weren't the firmest. We had a garden view, which looked upon some trees, shrubs and other buildings. There are no oceanfront rooms at Colonial. You can get these at Barcelo Palace next door. We tried to upgrade to Club Prime, which we hoped would get us a pool view and better beds but they were sold out. We had a great time travelling with Air Transat - if you have kids make sure you join the Kids Club prior to your trip. There is a dedicated check-in desk, plus your baggage gets tagged so it is removed from the plane first. Overall, a wonderful experience at the Barceló Maya Colonial.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: nice resort.

really good value. rooms were clean . food was satisfactory . we felt safe to travel through town at all times. the beach was beautiful. the grounds of the resort were well maintained. we had been to a 4.5 star resort last year in the Dominican Republic and I found that although, the resort and food weren't as nice, the overall experience at barcelo arenas blancas was better for about $700 less per person.

Barcelo Karmina: Absolutely Amazing!

We stayed at the Barcelò Karmina from January 13th to the 20th. My parents had previously stayed there and highly recommended it. We will forever be grateful that they did. The property is absolutely STUNNING, and it is kept in pristine condition. Our room was so spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. If you go, DO NOT MISS this incredible experience! We also really enjoyed the beach bar every day, which was consistently overflowing with delicious treats. The pool area was our favourite of any resort we have visited. Again, it is so beautifully maintained and designed. The beach at Karmina is very small, which might be a deterrent for those who love an expansive stretch of sand and surf. We really loved it, however, as the water was warm and perfect for snorkelling. We really enjoyed the nightly entertainment, and the performers were so charismatic and engaging. The dancers were superb, and the male singer featured on most nights was SUPERB - what a talent! Our 16-year-old son loved playing beach soccer and volleyball each day, and we all enjoyed kayaking around the bay. Our very favourite thing about the Barcelò Karmina was the staff. Every single employee was friendly, hardworking, kind, generous, patient, and professional. I think we fell in love with every single one of them. They worked tirelessly and genuinely appeared to love and value their jobs. We will forever treasure them for making our holiday so perfect. Thank you, Barcelò Karmina! WE LOVE YOU AND CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN!!! P.S. There is no free wifi, which seemed to upset some people. I work exclusively online and was beyond grateful to disconnect for a week, so it didn't bother me.

Grounds, food and rooms excellent, in need of hand rails at ALL steps in rooms and grounds as few accidents while there, saw only one wheel chair ramp to pools, beach very clean, staff very helpful at all locations especially buffet. Had great wèek

Occidental Papagayo: Excellent resort in a beautiful country!

Everything was fantastic! Food was great at all areas! Selection at buffet wasn't great but all good! The grounds were well kept up! Nice to see monkeys iguanas and birds of all kinds! When tide was low the beach was great to walk and explore! The staff in all areas were great! There were language barriers. The entertainment they had was good! More would have been great! Occidental Caribe: Nice hotel

Very nice/clean/friendly! Food was good. Drinks good (however they don't have o.j. just tang??) so hope you don't want a screwdriver. Evening shows were sub par. Confusion with the staff getting us there. They took us to the wrong hotel and didn't know where our's was. Found out that it also happened to several other people. Overall I would give it an 8/10 for value.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Fine hotel and beach

Very clean and orderly. Adults only environment so party hardy is not outrageous, but good clean fun. Food very good. Alcohol includes popular brands such as Johnny walker, etc. Staff very polite and helpful. Beach well kept, and no harassment by beach vendors.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Fantastic resort!

Very clean and well kept resort. Staff is very friendly and all are ready to help. Food was fantastic and we were there for a wedding and everything went smooth. The only complaint was the check in/out was very slow.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: beautiful resort, but....

The first night we were locked out of our room because of "faulty card keys". At bedtime I was left standing in the hall for a good ten minutes while my son returned to the lobby yet again so we could gain access to our room. The next day we were locked out again in the morning and again in the afternoon. The mini fridge had only pop and beer no alcohol. The shower was horrendous, that huge shower head fell off every time we showered, hitting me and also my son on the top of the foot [... read more]. We decided to use one of the drawers and found two syringes inside!!!!! One day instead of being taken by the "train" directly to our room we were chauffeured around the grounds and I must say I was stunned. The grounds etc were absolutely beautiful. The kids area with the swimming pool and large water animals looked great. I was amazed at how large and gorgeous the property actually was. We were compensated with two half bottles of Barcelo Bavaro rum and a plate of chocolate which were very nice and totally not expected. So yes, I would recommend Barcelo on the given that all the above problems were resolved.
