Riu Reggae: The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
This was my second trip to Jamaica and the RUI hotel chain. The good: the food was excellent, delicious with many healthy choices, and good variety. The air conditioning system was excellent and beds were comfortable, even the pull-out couch which I slept on, my daughter and hubby took the beds. The service was excellent, pleasant friendly staff that went the extra mile. The beach was quite nice and calm waters for swimming or hanging out in the bay. The Bad: The bathroom was poorly designe [... read more]
Riu Palace Paradise Island: nice short trip vacation location
We stayed at the Hotel Riu on Paradise island,Bahamas Dec 31-Jan 4. 3 hour flight time, weather was great. Hotel itself was okay, food was good, the buffet was excellent. For dinner no limit on the a la carte restaurants, but would prefer the reservation process rather than the walk up and wait process. Service was excellent to just okay. Different people, had different attitudes. But no one was bad, and no one was pushy for tips. The hotel room view of the ocean was excellent from our r [... read more]
Riu Santa Fe: Great resort
The grounds were beautiful and very clean. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, although the bathrooms need an upgrade. The food was very good, but they need to replace their heating lamps as the food was always just warm, never hot. The New Year's Eve dinner was amazing.
Riu Santa Fe: Amazing Resort
We thought that this Resort was outstanding. The grounds are immaculate and there are plenty of pools whether you want quite or loud. We are in our sixties but prefer watching the young ones having a Great time and listening to the great music being played and reminiscing about the times when we were that young. Entertainment was great as well and the Entertainment staff were the most hard working people. Our room was in a perfect location thanks to Kevin Dupuis request and we couldn't ask for an [... read more]
Riu Guanacaste: Going back!
We stayed at the Riu Guanacaste resort from December 25, 2017 - January 1, 2018 and can't say enough about the resort, the staff and the food. The night shows were impressive, the beach party new years was fun and the excursions were perfect for my 3 boys and myself. The have a variety of excursions to please all from young to old. It was our first time to Costa Rica and loved the atmosphere and culture there. I will definitely be going back and trying to work on a plan to get back there on a re [... read more]
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Good and not so good. Overall: had a good time!
The grounds were very nice, the entertainment was good, the rooms comfortable except for the showers and the beds. The pool area very nice, the food amazing, the beach not so much, people should be advised to bring swimming shoes as there are a lot of rocks.
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Happy New Year
The grounds were beautiful. The weather was amazing. Puerto Plata is a rocky region so the ocean has a rock shelf about 40m from the shore to watch out for. The staff were amazingly friendly and made New Year’s Eve incredibly fun.
Riu Palace Costa Rica: Close to perfect!
We absolutely loved this resort! The food, the room and the staff were great. It's the first time I think I want to go back and I want to stay longer. Like anything, there are a couple of things that could be better but pretty close to perfect.
Riu Palace Costa Rica: HORRIBLE, BED BUGS, HORRIBLE ENTERTAINMENT,
There are a lot of horrible hotels all around the world, but only a few of them can be described as the worst. As far as travel and leisure goes, we are always looking for the best options that money can buy. However, a big price tag with horrible accommodations No entertainment, no music, they started playing music one day before Christmas, they had no music playing any where In hotel, Costa Rica has a lot to see and hotel like the Riu misrepresents the country’s true atmosphere. They have [... read more]
Riu Republica: Resort
The property was very nice & well maintained. There was always a wait to access the specialty restaurants. The Steakhouse was always in demand, but it seemed understaffed. Room service would have made the stay much better.
Riu Palace Pacifico: Amazing resort
EVERYTHING about this hotel and resort was supereme quality, the best customer service and we had the very best time. Very impressed, we are planning next trip back. Stuff was very amicable and welcomed
Riu Palace Antillas: service was on the poor side
The resort was well maintained. Food selection was awesome. Bartenders and wait staff in specialty restaurants were fabolous. However staff in main dining area and front desk were definitely not friendly at all.
Riu Palace Paradise Island: Gorgeous Renovated Resort
Spent 3 nights at this amazing place. Loved every second. One thing need to be changed. Riu needs an app to book dinner reservations ahead instead of lining up for ala cart restaurants. Otherwise a great resort. This is my second time to Riu Paradise Island and won't be my last.
Riu Palace Aruba: Everything was great..I liked the beach, pools and the food quality.
Service was friendly but not over the top. The only negative comment that I have for this hotel is the LOBBY!! It is very outdated and since we get our first impression when we enter the facility through the lobby, I almost regretted picking this place. But once you exit the lobby, all was great. I also liked the proximity of this hotel to the little local strip of shops and restaurants.
Riu Caribe Cancun: Very good experience
We had an excellent time in this hotel, the only thing missing is that we didn’t know we need to book seat for Christmas dinner. It was a long time waiting and we even didn’t get to go to the restaurant we wanted
Riu Merengue: Very good vacations in a nice resort
The resort is a large open resort right next to the beach. The different pools are accessible, clean and you have a choice between a busy and noisy one or a very quiet one a bit further. You have bars everywhere so you won't be thirsty. Kids club was good for the kids even though it could have been a bit more organized to be honest. Food is honestly very decent. The only problem is the reservation system for the "a la carte" restaurant that doesn't make any sense. Rooms were clean, but a bit t [... read more]

Absolutely stunning resort! Everything you would want or need on a vacation was within reach or walking distance! Food was fabulous and the staff in every position was so kind and really cared that you enjoyed your stay!
Riu Palace Paradise Island: A true 5 star
Amazing, accomadating atmosphere. Spotless hotel. Every amenity needed. Beautiful view from room, pool, lounge, and resturaunts. Peaceful environment and enjoyable bars. Close to Atlantis, downtown paradise island, airport, ect.
Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Resort
Absolutely amazing place !!! Will definitely go back. Clean, tidy. Good and drinks selection was great. Right on the beach - great location. Nassau is a quick ferry ride. People are really friendly.
