Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: was an amazing resort and cubans nice people

no problems except for the bacon was not very good but rest was beautiful. pools were nice and grounds were gorgeous also people very very friendly too. lots people on the beaches and around the swim up bars were nice too.

Playa Pesquero: Wonderful family resort!

This resort was beautifully laid out and had so many neat areas to discover. My kids (3 and 5) had a blast, so much for them to do and see! Lots of walking but if you're tired you can catch a trolly back to your room. The beach was lovely and the pools were the best I've seen for young kids. The staff were so friendly and the food was pretty good, we especially liked the grill stations in the buffets and mojito bar for lunch (delicious chicken!). We would go back for sure!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Huge Resort

Resort is starting to show its age.If you are a smoker than this is the resort for you.No consideration at all for those that don't.Lobby and lobby bar were like a seedy smoke filled tavern.Pools were large.Most of the staff were very pleasant but like everywhere,there were the share of Sour Pickles.Went to a show at the theatre one evening and had to leave due to the amount of smoke.Took three days to get the plug in bathroom fixed.Only 110 volt plug in room.Asked for king size bed,was given tw [... read more]o singles.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Relaxing Holiday

This resort was perfect for us. The rooms were clean, food was best we have ever had in Cuba. Lots of shade to enjoy the beautiful weather and the pool was beautiful. Highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a quiet getaway!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Quality

Excellent resort. Been to many resorts in Cuba and this is by far the nicest. Great food, yes... I said great food, very personable and friendly staff, clean, well stocked.... Lots of walking. It would be a difficult stay for someone with disabilities due to the amount of stairs. very little nightlife and somewhat isolated for those looking to leave the resort. Great for families but if you are looking for a party resort this isn't it. Overall I was very satisfied and enjoyed my stay.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: A very nice resort

The grounds were beautiful, the food was excellent except for the bacon. It was only ever 1/4 cooked. The rooms were super clean. Very friendly staff. The pools were very nice. It was too hot to spend time on the beach since it was hard to find a spot in the shade so we spent our days at the swim up bar where we found shade.

Playa Costa Verde: I wouldn't return.

the hotel was clean and the grounds were lovely. Everything is just so far away that a lot of walking is certainly the order of the day. We were in the last row of buildings closest to the beach and it was still a 10 minute walk to get there. And then if you needed to use the bathroom you had to come all the way back as there were no bathrooms on the beach. As for food, the buffet was large but not much variety and many times the food was cold. The alacartes were absolutely AWESOME. The staff there were much more friendly than in the buffet but then again they were just dealing with a certain area of the restaurant.. I have been to Cuba many times before and this is the first time that I would say that I was not impressed with the food in the buffet and the first time that I would not return to the resort. The pool although quite large only had 2 step areas to get in and out and they were not spread out at all. So unless you can hop out the side of the pool again you could be faced with a hike back to your chair (not that I use the pool much).

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing Resort

The resort was absolutely amazing. Food was fantastic, service incredible, resort was stunning - very well laid out and spacious. They even have a small reef to snorkel at (we saw many different fish including barracuda, stingrays, lionfish etc). We did not do Royal Service but heard it was amazing as well. The adults only resort is excellent and very relaxing. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation, everything was spectacular.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great Resort - Great Staff

We had a blast at this resort. It's not perfect and if you are looking for reasons to complain you will find them. While the beach has rocks/coral there are plenty of large sandy areas easy to get to. While the buffet food maybe isn't the best it is still good and there are plenty of options. While you may find some surly or less friendly we found several very friendly fun staff at all the different bars as well as at the buffet. I would definitely go back here and recommend going if you are looking for a budget <$1000 vacation.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Perfect Spot to Chill

The beauty of this spot is that everything comes together to form a perfect vacation spot. Huge percentage of guests are repeaters - that should tell you something - some folks were there for the 15-20th time. Guest population is a little older - people under 40 seem to stand out. Lots of opportunity to party if so inclined, but lots of opportunity to chill, relax and recharge. All elements of the offering, from food, to rooms to facilities and services are excellent.

Playa Pesquero: Great Family resort

We had one of the rooms further from the pool, and the walk was a little far for the kids at times. Food was great, and the staff were all very helpful. Huge resort with a lot of different people. We swam with dolphins and took a horse and buggy ride to town and had a lot of fun.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Simply Beautiful!

The online pictures of Club Amigo do not do the resort justice. I was so wonderfully surprised by the beauty and location on the most wonderful beach, clear water and sandy bottom, awesome snorkeling steps from our room. We had no idea, arriving at midnight that there was actually two reception areas. Book the lower priced room online, and upgrade at the main reception for 3.00 a day. Well worth the upgrade. Be sure to see the aqua show, rent a taxi for the day and go into to Holguin, buy your cigars there, for a 1/3 the price of the cigar shops. I

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Amazing Beach

The hotel itself need a good upgrade , however the beach and the staff are amazing. We did not like the location on our first room (which was just above the main lobby and bar) because of the noise level. The staff were friendly and had no problems finding us a quieter room away from the noise. The beach has lots of shade trees and is so large it never feels over crowded. My husband and I had a nice relaxing week.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Fabulous Resort and Beach!

The beach offers a variety of activities - swimming area, catamaran, pedal boats, kayaks, and a reef for snorkelling. The resort was great, two pools, 24 hour food and alcohol, clean rooms and great staff!

Very nice beach there are. Send and water are amazing. Friendly, not annoy staff. Food is monotone, but good enough. Fish and seafood present on a menu what been surprise for Cuban resort. Rooms for 3 stars hotel.

Playa Costa Verde: Wonderful time at Playa Coste Verde

Many trips to Cuba but this was my first time in Holguin. This resort is older (as are most in this area) but clean and well kept. Perfectly situated in the middle of Playa Perquero beach between the Playa Perquero resort and the Blau Coste Verde, it is a short walk over a little lagoon to a beautiful calm beach with lots of sand, trees and palapas. There is a beach bar on the sand which also served hot dogs for a quick lunch/snack. Great snorkeling off the beach just to the left side closer to  [... read more]the Blau. The pools and surrounding areas were clean and well kept, we observed the umbrella bases being painted on this trip. The staff at the swim up bar were great, so welcoming, cheerful and efficient that you hardly notice how hard they are working...a real art. The food was good. I always use the grill stations and then add if needed from the trays. There was bacon every day and one night we had grilled lobster at the buffet. A la cartes were good as well, the Japanese our favorite.

We were so pleased with our resort , the food was good ! The beach was amazing ! The Cuban people are the best ! The resort was clean , and well presented ! We went to three of the restaurants and enjoy them all but the Japanese was our favourite ! We will diffentlu be returning

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great value for the money.

My wife and I have been to the Guardalavaca area 20 times but this is the first time at Brisas and we were not disappointed, we've always stayed at the resort next door. Everything was better, food, room with coffee maker, Ironing board, bed, beach the staff and the elevators worked all the time especially when you're on the top floor! We did two al-a carte restaurants and was very satisfied with the food quality and the service Next time we would not get a sea-view room as the entertainment is  [... read more]on that side and doesn't stop until 11 pm, so if you retire early it can be very noisy. Aside from that we had a great time and hope to go back next year.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Excellent place ...very friendly staff

Seemed to be doing a lot of painting and repairs ..keeping the place clean and up to date. Since it was coming to the end of their season ..less people so no lineups ... Rooms clean and fresh ... Ran out of water in room but was quickly fixed. Ran Terry Fox there :-)
