The Ocean el Faro is a beautiful, modern 5 star resort. We absolutely loved everything about it! The restaurants, pools, rooms, grounds, lazy river and the entertainment crew were outstanding!!! We will definitely come back

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Won't be back to the Bahia Principe Punta Cana

No covid changes to any process from what I observed. First room had a lot of mold and with the first rain water came in from the ceiling down the wall. Took a day to get into a new room which at least didn't have mold all over the tub area. The beach was full of seaweed therefore the pool was jammed packed. Resort was full. Buffet food was not the best, lots of overcooked meat in soupy unappealing gravy. Same as the reservation restaurants, totally average to poor. Buffet was packed with [... read more] people which operated just the same as it was before covid which was surprising. Wifi was bad even the premium which I supposedly had. Once you got to Client services the people did do their best to help you but being in line for over an hour each time takes it toll especially when they tell you to come back in a few hours only to be told to come back again. Room card keys are constantly not working. Apparently do not put those near your cell phone or a credit card or it wipes out the coding on it. Several people were always at the front desk about it. Its annoying when its 11pm and you cannot get into you room and you have to walk all the way back. The trolly's were inconsistent and often did not stop for you. If you have trouble walking or getting around this resort is not for you.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Beautiful resort, crappy beach

Our room and swim up pool were excellent. I’m not sure I would have enjoyed staying here without a swim up room, but would definitely come back with my kids to the family side. The lobby is incredibly beautiful. Buffet food was pretty good - it’s not Mexico, and it’s a step above Cuba. Our a la carte dinner was disappointing (steakhouse). Gift shop is incredibly overpriced - I paid $6 USD for me today (I needed candy bc of a dry cough).

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful Reaort

The resort was spectacular. My friends and I had a wonderful time filled with lots of fun activities. My boyfriend who has many food allergies/sensitivities had no problems finding things to eat at both the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. There was sanitizer available throughout the resort, which was really the only COVID protection that was noticeable. There was no air circulation in many of the a la carte restaurants either. Riu Republica: Beautiful resort but sunwing is awful

Housekeeping was trash. bathroom had no ventilation. Our flight got delayed multiple times and they never informed us each time. ended up dumping us at the airport at 1am for 9hrs with no food,water or AC. Food/party staff were amazing tho. Don’t fly with sunwing

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

The Melia Caribe Beach resort is beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained. Rooms are clean and very spacious, balconies are large and comfortable. It is a large resort, but everything is walkable. There is a 'train' available that seemed to run consistently around the resort all day long with not much wait time. Lots of shade available at all of the pools and at the beach. Friendly staff at the pool side bar, drinks were freshly made. The buffets had enough variety for a week long [... read more] stay, and the food was good. Outdoor seating available at both, or indoors with AC at the main buffet. The Mexican restaurant was very good, but also very slow. We travelled with 2 teenage boys and they found enough to do during the day, and they had a lot of fun on the inflatable water park in the ocean. They enjoyed hanging out in the lobby at night, The evening shows were just OK, and there was not much activity around the pools during the day. There seemed to be A LOT of activities for younger children though! Booking restaurants was a challenge. Reservations could only be made the same day, and the line at 8:30AM could be very long with only one person making all reservations for a short period of time. I was told that if there was availability restaurants would take walk-ins, but we did not try this. The major disappointment was the reception staff. We requested 2 adjoining rooms months in advance, and when we arrived, were given 2 rooms in different buildings. We were told to come back to reception at 6pm the following day to be assigned new rooms. When we arrived the next evening, we had to wait almost an hour in line, only to be told there were no rooms. After much frustration, 2 adjacent rooms were eventually found and we were able to move. However, had we not been so insistent, I believe they would not have moved us.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great resort!

The hotel and the grounds were beautiful. The pools were clean, and the service was fantastic. Housekeeping was immaculate, and the personnel were helpful and responsive. I would definitely stay here again if we visit at another time. The beach was lovely but there was a lot of seaweed and high winds so the flags were either yellow or red and not many individuals swam in the ocean.

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: Dreams Macao Beach Resort and Spa

The hotel is very new so all the hardware is good. Service in general is good, especially the reception and restaurants. There are 6 restaurants which offer different cuisines, ie. French, Italian, Seafood, Mexican and a buffet restaurant, but you have to go early to make sure you get a table. My girls love the coffee shop very much and they will stop by it to have ice-cream before/after meals. The waterslide is also a lot of fun and you can spend a whole morning/afternoon there. Every night there is different event/performance in the open square, and the atmosphere being a part of it is very great. The swimming pools are also lovely and all of us really enjoy hanging out there for hours. I have to say that we have a fantastic holiday at this resort hotel and our 6 days 5 night stay is really a bit short

Riu Republica: Riu Republic - Crappy Resort

My first vacation in 25 years, I was really looking forward to this trip, what a disappointment. The resort staff was not that friendly, the service was poor, the food was mediocre and the overall quality for what we paid was not worth it. Our room was without water for over 16 hours, we were told to use the bathroom down at the beach club if we had to use the facility.......totally unacceptable.... our mini bar was not restocked daily as it should be, we had to continuosly ask for service.  [... read more] The nightly entertainment was very bad, no interaction with the guests , just lame shows. The daytime activities also were lacking quality, more like a 2 star resort. I would never recommend this resort to anyone

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Avoid it

It is old dated property and when i google it it say it is built in 2016. Thats not true is old property and rooms are very old they jst changwd the name and built castle and new swimming pool when u google it u think it is new but it is not. Plus if u have kids be aware bcz my daughter got hand foot and mouth infection. Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: STARTED OFF A BIT ROUGH BUT THE HOTEL RESPONDED TERRIFIC!

I have to be honest, the stay started off rough with us not getting our room cleaned and a couple of other issues. I submitted a review on trip advisor while I was there and the hotel management tracked me down. That was so important to our family and made the positive difference for the rest of the trip as they asked us what they could do to change our minds and make us happy. If you are a beach lov [... read more]er then you should consider another hotel as this beach is very busy with party boats docking, going in and out from right in front of the resort. Previous reviews mentioned this and I have to say it is true. These large boats and constant movement really muddies the water even more. I guess Bavaro beach is having a major sea weed problem as we couldn’t swim in the ocean for one day of our trip. The resort itself is beautiful, rooms are beautiful, I would recommend a pool bar as you have to constantly get out of the pool to get a drink. The restaurant’s are all excellent, food was awesome! The gym is phenomenal and is a professional gym. Theatre for shows is phenomenal as well. The most valuable part of this resort is the staff we met there. They treated us like family, it was emotional leaving them. We upgraded to the unique option which was worth it as you get extra restaurants, bars and a personal liaison rep who takes care of everything you need. In the end, I am a very fussy person and I would go back tomorrow. Here are some very special people. Jose or liaison/butler as a part of the unique Alejandro Cedeno from the unique restaurant is phenomenal and treated me like his brother. He has the heart of truth and genuine kindness you seldomly find. Belkis Vilorio is the supervisor at the unique bar and she is another jem! Treated all of us like her family! Winnie or better know as Winnie the Pooh from the unique bar was another beautiful person who always took care of us and treated us with a smile! If you treat the staff with respect you will definitely gain some long term friends and memories! I know all of these people mentioned above are forever in our hearts. Thank you

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Incredible experience

The stay at Melia has been incredible, best value for money, food was great, all the servers were professional and kind, resort was beautiful, room was nice as well. Resort always upkept. Great place.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Not worth the price

The resort is okay but was expecting more for the price. The food is fine and the water park is great for the kids. For the price that we paid I was expecting a higher standard of customer service. First, we only had one king size bed and a weird pull out bed that was on the floor. We were not able to use the pull out bed as it had a wooden bar going across that dug into my back. I called room service six times requesting for a roll out bed and they simply did not care. They never sent the [... read more] roll out bed. I ended up sleeping on the balcony for two nights. Needles to say, I spent my entire vacation sleep deprived. For a vacation that costed over $7000 dollars this was simply unacceptable!!!! Forget about swimming in the Ocean. It was riddled with seaweed. We ended up paying over $200 to go to a public beach which did not have seaweed. The nightly entertainment shows were okay. Some staff looked beyond miserable. I would not go back to this resort and would Most definitely not recommend to anyone!

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: AMAZING Resort!

Everything at this resort was impeccable! From the rooms, to the pools, to the service in the restaurants and poolside - we couldn’t have chosen a better resort. Everyone was super friendly and the entertainment was fun by the pool during the day and at night at the lounge. The grounds are super lush and luxurious, and everything was super clean. We are looking forward to our next visit, we will definitely be back!

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Awesome vacation

The resort was beautiful. The food was great. The hotel and the rooms was always clean, but the only thing I was not happy that the safe was included with the room to protect your personal items. The people there was very helpful and friendly.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Simply wow!!!

This place is nust amazing for family fun. It's well organized, service is fast and impeccable, the staff is kind and hard working and the food was great, with a good variety and fresh. The Nickelodeon park was so much fun.. even for the 40 year olds in us. Finally got to experience the 'slime' I watched on TV as a kid. Will definetly be back!

Riu Republica: Our 1st All-inclusive exceeded our expectations!

This was our 1st all-inclusive experience and the resort went beyond our expectations. Our room was great with an amazing view and the connections we made with a number of staff was awesome.... Everything worked out well and look forward to considering a return trip in the near future. Overall experience was great.....

Breathless Punta Cana Resort: Good time but "Adults Only" Misleading

We had a good time. Food was decent, rooms were clean, service was okay. However, when it comes to adults only, this is misleading. The Breathless is connected to the Dreams resort next door which is not an adults only result. We were told that Breathless guests could go to Dreams however, only adults were allowed on the Breathless resort. This was not the case. Multiple times where teenagers were getting quite drunk on the Breathless resort at various pools. A few instances where they almost s [... read more]tarted a fight. No one working on Breathless seemed to do anything to either a) prevent non-adults from coming on the resort or b) getting them off when they were on the resort and causing problems. My wife and I were young once and we get that teenagers are going to try and sneak a few drinks in when they have the opportunity. But when you are getting hammered and getting close to starting fights on a resort where you aren't suppose to be and disrupting guests who paid to be on an adults only resort, that crosses a line for us.

Ocean Blue and Sand: It was good

The resort has a nice layout and interesting and fun things to do. The staff in the restaurants and bars were efficient and very friendly. We had issue with our door keys but they were fairly quick to rectify. The luggage took a while to get to our room even though the recetion/check-in area was not. We received face cloths on only 1 day and the last day we had zero towels, zero. The rest of our issues were with Sunwing.

THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL... 3 stars at best. Building 91 at the Bahia Principe "Luxury Esmeralda" was the worst 5 star hotel I have ever been to. We were a group of 9 people (with 5 rooms, 4 that were in building 91) and we all have a bad taste in our mouth & were ecstatic the leave on our last day. ( Which is never the case , even when I couldn't afford 5 star hotels in my younger days ) I was at the Royalton Punta Cana in Jan 2022.. That is a true 5 star hotel!!! We walked into our ro [... read more]oms, they all smelled like mold. Some worse than others... In our room, there was dust & hair EVERYWHERE. We spoke to our Air Canada Rep the next morning & he called for a "deep cleaning" which never got done. I complained a second time once we took our first shower the 2nd evening & the shower head was completely rusted as water was dripping. Already the pressure wasn't great after the shower head was changed. We further wiped down around the toilet bowl & found dust & hair that had accumulated for MONTHS... I complained a second time, now to the front desk & the head butler came to the room after I showed the tissue we used to clean around the toilet which was full of dust and hair. They ordered a 2nd "deep cleaning" which never got done. DISGUSTING and what a waste of my time & money. I would have to ask the maid EVERYDAY for something that was missing in the room after they would clean & I would still leave more tip than my other friends did in another building and we got horrible service. I think towels, water and toilet paper should never need asking for. Furthermore, service from the waiters at all the restaurants was unorganized. We would order WATER and beverages & EVERYDAY at least once per day the beverages would never arrive or arrive once we were finished eating. I'm sorry but water should be served instantaneously... I never complain but this hotel in rundown and was left to rot. And the service was unorganized in the buildings as well as the restaurants. THIS IS NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL... 3 stars at best.
