Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Not ideal

Group of 10, rooms scattered throughout this large property. Check in was unfortunately a long drawn out process, “come back in 10-15 mins” and after an hour or so of this we were getting tired and just wanted to shower from long day of travel. Showered and tub would not drain, called front desk and once again experienced “call back in 10 mins” after playing this game a second time, we’d had enough and packed up all our belongings and headed for one of our single occupancy room, to which we paid [... read more] inflated rate to have, forcing that friend into our other single occupancy room. Front desk would never return our call about bath tub until 3 days later. We went to our air Transat rep to which he was gonna try and upgrade our room for the inconvenience, only thing was guest services would not comply. The rep then said he would give us a discounted excursion, to which we would have taken him up on except I would fall illl and 3 others from our group with travellers diarrhea from the lack of cleanliness around resort and especially buffet.there was a lot vomiting observed at this resort. I was thoroughly disappointed in this trip as I booked as a 4 star for it to be downgraded a week before departure. I was not fond of DR, and will not return. Air Transat flight was great and would suggest dropping congress from itinerary

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Simply the best!

We absolutely enjoyed our 7 day stay at this amazing boutique! From our arrival to departure, we were impressed with the room, staff, food, private beach, pool, cabanas and water view!! Service by staff was always attentive and professional. We can’t wait to return ?

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Well managed and amazing resort

VH Gran Ventana Resort is well maintained and the public areas are always clean. The room I stayed in was well stocked with water, drinks, towels and kept clean every day by the maid. The food at the three restaurants and the buffet is fantastic. They serve you like you are royalty. The staff at the resort always great. They welcome you with a smile and greeting and some even recognized me from previous times I visited the resort. The resort has different daytime and evening entertainment. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: resort way to busy...not enough staff to handle cleaning of tables during breakfast and supper...mosquitoes in lobby very bad

rooms were very nice ...grounds and pool and beach area very nice...easy to walk on the beach...vendors were not pushy...should teach staff to comunicate and understand english...all in all not a bad experience., but could have been better

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Great resort, lovely staff

Getting a chair on the beach or at pool was impossible. Very frustrating…. Attention to detail in rooms was a challenge… empty shampoo bottles, I had to stir coffee in room with my toothbrush…. Bbbbbb b bbbbb bbbbbb bbb

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Nice resort!

The Dreams Onyx is a beautiful resort. It's extremely large and sprawling. The food was good. Few complaints were the bathrooms were not plentiful especially if you chose to relax on the beach, it's quite a walk to the washrooms. A bathroom should be available at the beach bar huts. Staff were mostly nice, few grumps in the bunch. Entertainment was lacking. The only entertainment at night was the theatre entertainment. Nothing in the lobby or other bar area. Elevator was iffy and we were  [... read more]on the third floor, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, so we took the stairs. Seemed to be a great plan for families. We were 4 seniors. We had a relaxing holiday.

Occidental Caribe: Would not recommend

I am not impressed with this resort at all the rooms are so bad that they have leaks and broken safe and fridge and television. The line ups everywhere are just ridiculous. It’s unfortunate that for the first few days there I saw the maintenance man more than the bartender that you have to wait 10-15 minutes for a drink that tastes like garbage. We had blood stains on our sheets When we asked for a new room they said there were none. Not impressed with my vacation at all, I always go to Cuba and someone recommended punta Cana which cost me near 500$ more per person!!! Looks like Cuba is my go to!!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful Grounds!

The hotel grounds are gorgeous, and the buffet food & beach are mediocre but a la cartes are good. Alcoholic beverages are just okay-too syrupy. A LOT of seniors at this resort and evening entertainment boring except for the Dominican Night. Rooms need a THOROUGH cleaning and upgrading! Water pressure in shower and TV options could be improved.

Playabachata Hotel: Won't be back

The service was awful. The first night the toilet was plugged and we called down several times and no one came. No beach chairs unless you get down to the ocean VERY early. Both my husband and I got sick there.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Good stay

Great trip overall. Friendly helpful staff. Wish we could have swam in the ocean which was impossible due to high waves and lots of moss. As well, wish there was better variety with the food. Would return back though !

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Great value for price!

First time in Punta Cana and it was a great time. Food was awesome, grounds were beautiful and overall it was fun. The rooms were a bit tired - but clean. I would recommend requesting to stay in building 3 or 4 on the club package. It's worth it and those seem to be best location. The beach was nice, waters were wavy and a bit deep- but the sand was cleaned daily!

Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort: Gorgeous Resort

Amazing resort! Stunning grounds, lush, beautiful landscaping. Resort layout, structure, pools etc. well thought out, modern rooms, gorgeous design. Excellent value for the money. Five star. Wonderful coffee. Service top notch.

Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Resort is Okay

The resort is Okay. Nothing really stands out in my opinion. The rooms was ok, the food is ok but not great. The only way I would book this resort again is if I got an amazing deal. The best part of the resort is the beach.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Good but need more work to return to recover state

I think that both hotel and other services (room especially) need improvement. We went here as we have been before but service is not yet at that level of pre Covid.Room was cleaned but a lot of mosquitoes inside, toilet holder broken, shampo holder didn’t work, tub with stains or damaged, tv hardly could see any program in English. Reception seems very slow and hardly helpt to get any information if needed. We booked with trip central and nexus tour was supposed to complete transfer from airpor [... read more]t to resort and back but they were unreachable no information was provided to us. In the resort was really hard to get coffe and drinks ( beer) because either coffe mascines were not ready or in very small number in restaurants. We had to ask waiters to bring water, coffe or beer and in some cases we hardly get it or got it at the end of meal. Pool was very crowded and hardly could find place to sit unless you wake up early. Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Nice to be home again

A bit of rain this trip but so nice to see all our friends who work at the resort. Grounds are kept impeccable . The grounds keepers are constantly making improvements. The entertainment crew go above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Thanks Skinny, Pollo, Monkey Black, Dora and Sky. In the buffet Nunez, Wanda and Juan Pablo made sure we were well looked after. Our morning "special" coffees were always perfect thanks to the girls in Legends. El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great resort

Was in the adult section with privelidge up grade. The resort has many areas of interest that will keep you busy ie bowling, sports bar, lazy river which was amazing, plus much more. No problem getting palapas on the beach or around the many pools. The rooms and balconies were a good size clean and tidy. The food was a mixed bag, but always something that would work. The areas that need improvement would to have a descent lounge for the priveledge guests. The adult section needs a bigger v [... read more]ariety of food at its snack bar ie fried chicken hamburgers hot dogs etc for lunches. Other then that I would recommend this resort 5 Star for families and 4 for adults.

Playabachata Hotel: Average resort

Grounds were beautiful, beach was nice. Most of the staff were very friendly. A la cartes were not great and the buffet food was good but it was the same thing every day. They could use a hostess as we often went to dinner and searched endlessly for a clean table. Rooms are dated but clean. No beer in the minibar

Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Great adult only resort

Hotel was excellent,beach was large and always easy to find space and chairs,staff were very attentive,secirity kept beach sellers to the outskirts of the beach area,rooms were good,food was good and very easy to find different items by switching locations. Overall great experience

Playabachata Hotel: Value for money

We stayed at the Playa Bachata for 9 days this time. Although this hotel is a little older, it is clean and well maintained. I love how easy it is to get around, the restaurant, bar, pool and beach are all close together. WIFI only available in lobby and pool/bar area, but not in rooms. The rooms are basic, but clean and come with a safe. All buildings are only 2 stories tall and there are nice big balconies on all the rooms. No alcohol in the rooms only water coke and 7-up (next time I will pic [... read more]k up something from duty free to have in the room). Loungers on the beach were a bit of an issue, people get up early and claim them, and we ended up having to do the same so we weren’t sitting on the sand. Beach is clean and lots of shade. We spent most of our time there rather than at the pool where they had all the games and fun. There is no swim up bar if you are a person who likes that. This resort connects to 2 others, you can use some of the amenities at all three. I loved Caribbean street where you can get gelato, good coffee and pizza if you need a snack in the afternoon. The buffet is available for all meals. Lots of options, and we were very happy with the food. Our plates were full every day with salads, pork, chicken, rice beans, plantain, avocado- I personally would not recommend the wine. There was also pasta, pizza and fries available. The shows at night were very popular, but we’d seen them before. A couple of nights they had a guy playing guitar in the courtyard, and he was great. This is also where the disco is at night. I love that the disco is not enclosed, I just wish they would update their playlist a bit. They tend to play the same music all the time. The DJ isn’t the best, but he took requests. Highly recommend the Saturday night beach party. The main bar is open 24 hours. Alcohol is not top shelf or even middle shelf, but the mojitos and beer were flowing. A great time for a week away!
