Hotel Mojito: Relaxing getaway
Just got back from an 11 day holiday at this resort on Feb 13,2019. Went there because of the positive reviews and was hopeful that it was a wise pick. Well must say that it was indeed a great place to stay. Beach is amazing and resort is just the right size. Food was repetitive but good each day. We stayed in the bungalows in block 22 and that was the right choice for s few extra dollars. Comfortable beds and alway nice hot water and privacy as well. This is not a party resort and it is very [... read more]civilized and laid back. Staff were good, obviously some more than others. Roberto at the beach bar was always friendly and gave a handshake everyday. Honestly for the value it was perfect, albeit the resort was a bit rough in places (such as concrete walkways) but everything else was fine and we really enjoyed this place. Built in 2001, so if your expecting perfection, go to a new resort but if you want value, a great beach and relaxation ... just book this resort and you won’t be disappointed. It exceeded our expectations in many ways and nothing to say in the negative.

Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful resort but prefer Melia
The Pullman Cayo Coco is newer and more modern than other resorts on the island. The rooms are pretty, the bathrooms are clean and not run down. As vegans, we found the food in the buffet pretty bad and really lacking in options. They managed to put ham in just about everything. There are multiple pools, but they're mostly wading pools. The beach is beautiful and they own a huge stretch of it. No problems finding chairs or palapas anytime of day. The evening shows were fantastic, especially the [... read more]band Dharma and the ballet company they brought in. If you aren't traveling with kids, though, I would recommend the adults-only Melia Cayo Coco next door. The amount of shrieking, crying, wailing kids at the Pullman was pretty annoying. Melia is also smaller and friendlier. I didn't find most of the staff particularly friendly at Pullman. At Melia, I made many friends among the staff and even walked next door from Pullman to visit them. I'll choose Melia again next time over Pullman.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Awesome Resort
Amazing resort, fantastic staff, stunning beach and pier! Carlos the manager of the resort goes out of his way to interact with each and every guest. He is always listening to any questions, comments and concerns about the resort. The buffet is fantastic and there is always something different each day. The lamb, pork and white fish were the best we had ever had. We had excellent servers at the buffet; Yaniris, Yasnery and our student waiter Terry. They were very attentive and their service was [... read more]impeccable! The International Al la Cate was absolutely fabulous! Special mention to Sally and Amel on the entertainment staff, they went out of their way for us! The room was fantastic, always clean and the fridge was well stocked. The beach is stunning, an abundance of palapas and chaise lounges awaits you. The water is turquoise, clear and full of beautiful aquatic life! There was a water main break during our stay. However Carlos worked very fast to resolve the issue. In approximately 4 hours we had water again. This type of situation can happen anywhere at anytime. Of course there will always be people that complain about a situation like this. We â¤ï¸ this resort and will most definitely return! 9/10
We found the Iberostar Colonial resort to be of a very distinct Spanish design and ambiance , quite different from the glass and metal buildings that you see in a lot of resort areas . The buildings are of old , classic , Spanish styles with stucco and woods and red tile ceramic roofs . This quality is maintained throughout the whole complex both inside and out . The interiors are of dark wood with cream coloured walls and black framed windows . The furniture is of dark stuffed leather variety [... read more]both in the common areas and the rooms and are very comfortable . The rooms are a good size with comfortable beds and good storage areas .
The buffet restaurant is more modern with white walls and a glass wall facing the lovely beach area . The first half is laid out for displaying the prepared foods which the back is setup for the cooking area .
There is a good assortment of foods but very similar from day to day . Cuban cuisine is not noted for being anything special . The service was very good by the waiters and most of the cooks behind the various grills were friendly and tried to serve what you liked .
The property is large with lots of old Spanish style Villas as mentioned earlier . The grounds are very well laid out with various trees and flower beds . The paths are cobbled with different stones instead of cement slabs and are nicely maintained .
The beach area is close and very well laid out . There area couple of areas dedicated to children .
We liked the resort and the staff but thought the food at the Buffet needs upgrading .

Hotel Mojito: Good vacation even with some of the minor problems
The beach was amazing, windy, blue chairs very dated, white chairs looked new. Spent very little time around the pool and did not swim in it, brand new chairs there. Rooms were dated but clean, toilet ran. The maid service was not up to par, our towels may have been changed once in our 7 days and sheets never. 1st day we returned from the beach at suppertime and no maid even came to make up our room. The next day we had to ask a few times, wasn't done until after 4 pm. Buffet was good, but food[... read more] is repetitive, staff were attentive especially in the mornings and lunch, not too busy either. A la cartes were really good, Gourmet and Cuban my favorite and excellent service. Was not impressed with the service at the lobby bar. I always tip but not when they ignore you, felt that way most times there. We noticed some of the Cubans receiving premium alcohol that had not upgraded to the premium, but when we asked were told it was not for us. The service and food in the snack bar was good, very busy. Bar tender was good there. We did enjoy ourselves at this resort and were stuffed after every meal, We have been to Cuba several times over the past 4 years and love this country. We will be back, but probably not to this one unless the price is really good. This is the 2nd Iberostar we have been to in the past 6 months and thought they offered a little more. I would rate this resort as a 3 - 3.5.

Fantastic beach windy, rooms dated towels and sheets changed maybe once don,t get room near pool very noisy all night from 24 hour snack bar bldg. 16 especially. alacartes surprisingly good gourmet and Cuban are the best, Italian so so, Bar service at main lounge so so some of the bartenders look right through as if you don,t even exist didn't seem to mind giving their cuban friends premium drinks even if they didn't have a premium bracelet seen more than one occasion wasn't the only one who not[... read more]iced so I tipped accordingly some were decent buffet was okay food good but very repetitive overall a clean 3.5 star resort

Melia Costa Rey: Great vacation!
Loved the resort, people, food! Nicest resort we have traveled to in all the years that we have vacationed in Cuba! We have previously traveled all over Cuba. Cayo Coco is the most beautiful beach on the island. It is extra pleasant t because there are few if any American tourists there

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Beautiful Beach
We booked Iberostar Daiquiri through Carol Mack at Tripcentral. We were very pleased with this resort and would definitely return. It is a smaller resort and therefore everything was close. The grounds were well kept and they spayed every morning so insects were not a problem. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were good but needed a fresh coat of paint on the doors and trims. The fridge did not keep the water, etc cold. The bathrooms, however, were modern and we always[... read more] had hot water for our showers. We recommend the Mexican restaurant. The Italian restaurant was good, except for the appetizers. We could always find food that we liked at the buffets. Go early when the food has been just put out.
Now to the beach....it was beautiful!!! The beach was very wide with soft white sand, the consistency of icing sugar. We loved it! There were lots of lounging chairs and lots of space. The ocean water was warm and a beautiful turquoise near the shore. There was a grassy area but you can swim over it. The pool area was also great, with nice wide stairs and a railing to enter the pool. This would be very helpful for anyone with mobility problems. Overall, we were very pleased. The friendly staff, the beautiful sandy beaches and the nice safe ocean to swim in made our stay one that we will look back on with very fond memories.

Sol Cayo Coco: Nice small resort.
Small older resort, conveniently located near the airport. Beautiful location and beach. Never a problem getting a beach chair. Rooms were always clean and staff was courteous.
Unfortunately food variety was poor. There was an inconsistant availability of buffett, al-la-carte and pool bar foods even for Cuban standards. No beer for 2 days and charged for bottled premium beer during this time.
Nice small resort community feel, great for evening socializing.
This resort is absolutely amazing my first time ever traveling and had my 4year old daughter with me. The people at the resort went out of there way to make sure my daughter and me where happy. I'm already planning my next trip here next year cant reccomend memories flamenco enough

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Ok. Not great.
The rooms were dated and run down as expected for Cuba. The food was not great. My wife got many spider bites in the hotel room which resulted in a trip to the doctor when we got home and a few prescriptions. The beach was beautiful and the staff were excellent and helpful, other than the resort doctor. Drinks were good. Lots for kids to do. The pool was nice. My opinion more like a 3* resort. Decent resort for Cuba.

Hotel Mojito: Great value
We enjoyed staying at this hotel. Nice rooms (rain shower head and good patio door locking system). Food was good - good selection of salad bar items, carving station at dinner, pasta bar, stir fry at dinner... Snacks were somewhat limited in choice between meals but pizza was tasty. Lobby area nice (would prefer non-smoking area but that's hard to come by in Cuba lol). Cigar lounge was enjoyable with Freddie the bartender looking after us well and a fun band. Activities staff kept us busy[... read more] playing games. Longer walk to beach (but we knew that when we booked). Excellent availability of chairs at pool and beach. Lots of palapas at beach, less shade options at the pool. Great staff overall.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Good resort
This was a good resort. A little big and can seem short staffed when the lobby fills up around the bar. The food was good and always something to eat at the 24hr restaurant. They ran out of bread there for about a day but I didn't find that such a big deal since they had tons of fries! The buffets are a little small for the amount of people they have to serve. They can seat everyone just fine though. They also have two buffets, one next to the other, exactly the same, but they only open one at 7[... read more]am and don't open the other until 9am. It confuses the guests and long lines start to form. Breakfast! They put out a lot of pre-cooked eggs (some not so cooked) but they do cook to order, however, you may have to wait in line a while if you go during prime times. The bacon, when they serve it, is a little under cooked and thick for a lot of people's liking and tastes a little different. And if you were lucky enough to be around when they were serving hash brown patties, you had to get them quick because they would run out fast! I brought my own gluten free bread because I knew I'd have a hard time getting food in the mornings and I can't tell you how many people asked me where I got my nice slices of bread. I'd also recommend bringing your own peanut butter since they don't have anything, except butter, to spread on the toasts. you could also bring your own ketchup or salsa for the buffets because they rarely had any. The 24hr restaurant seemed to have some most of the time though, and the catsup was pretty darn good! The grounds are kept daily and there's always a groundskeeper around, even if the job is done lol. Nice guys! The place has many cats, a rooster and a hen, and a seen 3 dogs one day. No little critters (lizards) from what I saw. The staff are very nice, always helpful, no complaints there. The public washrooms ran out of toilet paper a lot so either have some on you or ask the person in the stall next to you. The rooms are nice. Beds made everyday and washrooms cleaned. Our toilet ran constantly the whole stay but at least it worked. You get a mini fridge stocked daily with pop and beer, although we rarely got two beers restocked, even when we asked. You will be given a large water bottle daily, but its a little bulky to carry around with you all day, so make sure to bring a bubba or a smaller reusable cup to make it easier on yourself. The AC worked well in our room and didn't hear anyone say theirs didn't so that's good. We also had nice hot water and awesome water pressure in the showers daily. The beach is beautiful, always able to find a chair and the beach was kept clean. The pools are huge! So I can understand how hard it was to keep them clean. But you can always find a spot to sit there too! Usually people would get out early and claim all the chairs, but now here! Pool bar ran out of beer a few times so some guests didn't like that. The a la cartes had good food but small portions. If you get the steak, ask it to be cooked more than medium because everyone's steaks came out rare or blue rare when they asked for medium or medium rare. The wine was so much better here than anywhere else on the resort. They were also very empty, even if you got a reservation earlier in the evening. Barely anyone would be in the restaurant with you. Not sure if it was people not making it to their reservations or if they booked them that way. Seemed odd to be at an a la carte and have just a few tables with people. The lay out of the resort isn't too bad, but if you have a hard time walking long distances, you'll need to use the carts that come around to give people rides. Sometimes you may need to call for one to come to your bungalow, but you may have to wait a little for them to show up. We didn't need to use one to get around, but we did when it came to getting our luggage to the lobby on check-out day. Overall, this isn't that bad a resort. For the price, we just couldn't beat it!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beach was beautiful
Resort needs work. Out of the 7days, had hot water for 2, a trickle of hot water for 1 day and last day there was no water at all. Paid for up grade on room ( hot water not included). Thanks to a fellow guest found out there was a special promotion on a new hotel that just opened. So jumped on that. So the remainder of our holidays were great.
For memories Caribe, they are working on the well needed repairs. Food was decent, Do not expect gourmet. Service was good.
