Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Beautiful vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at this resort. The staff are very friendly and helpful.The resort is very well maintained and the grounds are beautiful! We have two suggestions, one is to update the guest rooms as far as decor. They are vey clean! The other is to have more signs for the quiet area of the pool and to put one at the bar in that area. Too many loud abnoxious people would come to that area and wreck it for those trying to enjoy some quiet time.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Recommend this resort to everyone.

This was my first visit to Cuba. We were very delighted with our choice. The grounds, lobby, beach, rooms and buffet were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The employees were the most friendly and very accommodating. The buffet had a varied menu for everyone's taste. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys a quiet and friendly resort.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Good Value

This resort is good value. They hotel is still recuperating from the hurricane. The food is very good and the staff are friendly and helpful. The lobby bar is open 24/7 for coffee, tea and alcoholic drinks.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great resort

Nice pools, nice service, nice beach, nice food. Great pool entertainment team and lots of activities to do. For the price I paid it was quite a good resort. The pool stretches about 200 meters which is was nice. There was a diverse food selection. Would recommend the steakhouse.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great First Experience!

Resort: Beautiful and steps away from the nice sandy beach. Has a nice big main pool and 2 side (quiet) pools on each side of the resort. Lots of activities and performances every night. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Food: Snack Bar open 24 hours. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Buffets as well. There are 3 À la carte restaurants available for dinner with prior reservation with the following options: Japanese, Romantica, and Italian. It is very bland and not much flavor as we are used to but I guess that's just how it is there. Excursions: We did the Catamaran Cruise with the group which is about 7-8 hours including transfers. There are 2 options for this - with or without the dolphin experience. We did the Dolphin experience and loved it as you get to stand on a platform and have the dolphins swim by you and interact with you. This dolphinarium is built in the middle of the ocean which was pretty cool too. We were also able to snorkel and visit Cayo Blanco and have lunch there and swim on the beautiful island as a part of this excursion. We also went into the main city of Havana but we didn't do it with the group and opted to do it with a private tour guide with a classic car instead so we had more control of it and could enjoy it at our pace. This was a full day event as we left at about 9 AM and came back around 7 PM. The hotel staff can usually help you book a private tour guide. There were also sail boats on the beach that took you out to snorkel with lots of fish. This wasn't advertised but was probably my favorite part of the trip so be sure to inquire about this through the Transgaviota agents that run it on the beach. They take you to a nice spot and give you bread to feed the fish and there are hundreds of them so it was quite the experience. Notes / Things to keep in mind: As mentioned earlier, be ready for the food as it's not the best. Also, the ice and water at the hotel is spring water so you'll be okay there. Just be careful not to have ice or water out of the resort as you can get really sick. If you plan to buy Cigars when you do the trip to Havana, be careful as there are many fakes and we fell for this. Only buy them from the Airport Duty Free shop as even some of the factories sell fake cigars. My mom got pretty sick on the last day when we were scheduled to fly back home and our hotel checkout was at 12 PM but we needed the room for longer as she was really not feeling well. We had to pay 10 CUC / hour for the room until our flight at 6 PM. This was our only drawback from an otherwise amazing experience. Cuba is a very safe place otherwise so not much to worry about - enjoy your trip. Hope this review helps you with your planning.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Beautiful resort but smokey rooms and food poisoning an issue

Beach was nice. Snorkeling off the dock was the highlight. Food was good until I got food poisoning the 2nd to last day. Killed the rest of the trip. Beats pill was stolen form my bag at Mexico airport. Room smelt like smoke.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Run Down

It was our second time at the Iberostar Cozumel. I must and foremost praise the staff which was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the composting and sour smell was overwhelming. The area of the main lobby and main restaurant as well as the show theatre smelled so bad it was terrible. I was renting two rooms and room 2612 smelled like shit, pretty much like the composting site, which is not acceptable. The steak house was very good while the Mexican restaurant was disappointing. The beach  [... read more]area is non existant and requires shoes as there is no sand, just coral and rocks. The snorkelling is good having seen Moray eel, barracuda, octopus, and plenty of fish. The Christmas diner (buffet) was ordinary. Unfortunately I will not be returning

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great Resort

Clean resort, good food and activities for most ages. Service was good. Pharmacy never had basic things we needed and ordering over the counter meds from next town was very pricey. Was concerned about too much algae at the beach based in reviews. This was not an issue for us in mid-December.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great family vacation

We had a wonderful time with our family of 5. Our children are young adults and enjoyed the resort as much as we did. There were many activities for them and the food was excellent, many choices at the buffet, so it never got boring. Only improvement suggestions: Better labeling of the food, so you know what you are eating/ wish to try. And please get some real butter, not ultra pasteurized. My husband was very late for dinner that day, and was not accommodated by the restaurant. It was a little disappointing, because the restaurants very never packed. It would not have taken much to fry up a steak. So he had to eat appetizers and dessert. We have nothing to compare our stay to, because this was our first time in Mexico and our first time at a resort. Rooms were clean and comfortable, grounds were kept meticulously and had some native wildlife, which was quite magical. Did not see any bugs the whole week.I loved the open air concept of the lobby, and restaurants, and it was always comfortable, never needed a sweater. I am not sure how hot it would get in the summer, though. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed it every day. I loved that there was shade provided at the beach. It was sometimes hard to get a chair, because people reserve chairs for the whole day, which is not allowed. The hotel could do a better job encouraging people not to be chair hoggers. The pool was big and kids enjoyed it, but extremely slippery tiles around the pool, and everywhere (if the floors get wet through rain). The whole resort seemed a bit big, but my kids said that way there were more people to get activities going. One thing I did not enjoy was the pushy way time share meetings were marketed to us right away, before we even got our room. Scrap that! I can do without that as a welcome! The shopping centre is for the most part totally overpriced. No idea who goes shopping there, but I guess if you forgot something it is handy to have. It is a nice place to have coffee or enjoy a taco, and see the Mayan cultural performance. We had to visit the clinic twice and got good service both times. Overall we had an amazing time and would love to go back!

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Iberostar Lindo - Great Resort

Iberostar Lindo is an excellent resort. Grounds are well maintained, staff are friendly and helpful, a choice of pools, entertainment and restaurants. Management and staff go out of their way to ensure guests have an excellent vacation. This was our 6th trip to the Lindo and will likely go again. Our only complaint was the return shuttle from the hotel to Cancun airport was organized by Sunquest. The shuttle van was too small for the number of people being transported and I felt the travel [... read more] conditions were not safe. Other than this one small drawback the holiday was perfect.

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Amazing Resort

We were very impressed with the resort. It was very clean & well maintained. The grounds were beautiful & the beaches clean. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. We are considering returning to the same location.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great pre-Christmas vacation

The resort was very well laid out...beautiful resort with everything easily accessible. The pools were all great, as was the beach. Our bedroom was nice and big, although the bed was very uncomfortable and not good for my back. The food was very average, but the staff was excellent.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: Ok Resort

Hotel grounds were nice. Only complaint was that the ventilation system was on a motion sensor so that when you left the room the a/c turned off. This would result in your clothes and your bedding became damp because of the humidity. Food was ok.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Excellent Time!

The staff were friendly and very attentive. Grounds were well kept, and cleanliness was excellent! Food was good not amazing, it would be nice to see bottled water being used at all times, I didn't notice it in use at the buffet as they were filling jugs from the water in the soda machine. Beach would be a little small for the resort at full capacity. I would definitely go back again.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Highly recommend!!

From the General manager to the cleaning staff everyone was helpful and courteous. Maid service was supreme. Excellent food at all venues and the bar service was one of the best I have experienced in my travels. The grounds were kept clean and the beach area raked of seaweed. If you are planning to take a family vacation I would highly recommend this resort. Brad Davidson

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Loved it!

I was very impressed with this hotel. The hotel foyer was very open and had very comfortable and clean furniture. The grounds were well kept, and the beach is very close to the hotel The dining was excellent, with a main buffet area, three themed restaurants, and a 24 hour snack bar. The bars are well situated and well stocked. All hotel staff were very friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and stylish.

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Nice resort

We stayed at Iberostar Play Mita for 10 days in December. The resort was all decorated for Christmas which was nice because you kind of forget it is that time of year when you are enjoying the sun and sand. We found the resort to be very easy to get around it is not a big resort at all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and nice. I would rate this resort as a 4 star. Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Simply Amazing!

In December 5 of us girlfriends went to Iberostar Paraiso Beach and all of us were amazed at the service we received!! Everyone was happy to help us out and we felt so welcomed. The entertainment was AWESOME, from shows every night to activities on the beach and at the pool. We had SO much fun :) Would highly recommend this to anyone!

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Lovely resort

Overall, I thought this hotel was such great value for the cost. The checkin was quick and very friendly, we were upgraded, I presume, based on some hotel vacancy. Our room was so spacious, open and airy, had all the room amenities and comforts, better than I expected. We also had a good view of the ocean and resort grounds. The resort had much foliage even after the hurricane, you didn’t see any damage or much loss. The food was better than expected, it was a bit repetitive and limited but at least we had the a la carte dinner options. We had many delicious drinks and cocktails options including prosecco, Spanish coffee was delicious! The main highlights of the resort were friendly service and positive, welcoming attitude of the Cubans/staff, nicest people! And the other highlight was the entertainment; the horror and pool shows were amazing-5star entertainment!! I would return and recommend this hotel to anyone.
