Punta Cana Princess: Good adult only resort

The landscaping and beach/pool were well maintained and beautiful. The lounge chairs and shaded huts on the beach were plentiful. The bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive. The buffet was very good with a variety of options. The Steak and Italian restaurants were excellent, the seafood restaurant was closed a couple of days during the week so we didn't get to try it. The room we stayed in had a beautiful view from the balcony. The bed was a king and comfortable but the room l [... read more]acked a dresser and the bathroom had no door (there was a seperate glass door for the shower and toilet areas), which I'm told is European style, but small and no privacy. I think overall the rooms could be updated. The seaweed on the beach this time of year was a bit of an eyesore, though not something that can be controlled by the resort and the resort made an exceptional effort to have staff specifically dedicated to clearing it daily so tourists can access the ocean easily. We had a wonderful stay partly because of the group of people we travelled with but also the staff were the most attentive I've had the pleasure of experiencing and we appreciated their smiling service. The animation staff have lots of activities to get people involved volleyball soccer stretching on the beach games water aerobics and same staff entertained in the evening with interactive shows.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Fantastic Time

We had an amazing vacation at Dreams Punta Cana. The resort is really beautiful, with a winding pool and lush gardens. The rooms are nothing special but were very clean. The entire facility is clean, well cared for and beautiful. The food was delicious and varied. We enjoyed the buffet and the specialty restaurants. The staff is the standout at the resort. They are so friendly and helpful…servers, cooks, bar staff, cleaners, concierge and entertainment staff. Everyone we encountered was ni [... read more]ce. They really helped make our stay special. Shout out to Benjamin Franklin who popped by poolside to say hello everyday. I would definitely recommend the resort!

Excellence Punta Cana: Return to Excellence Punta Cana

This was our third visit to the Excellence Punta Cana but our first time back since Covid. Staff were awesome- would go out of their way to may your dining and beach experience memorable. Food was very good- especially Chez Isabel restaurant and breakfast at the Magna. We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary while there and asked our agent to reserve the fr [... read more]ee anniversary package they offer for us when booking, as well, we mentioned it during check in but we’re very disappointed when the only thing they did was make a heart on our table at dinner- we did not receive anything advertised in their Excellence Club Anniversary Package. Quite the disappointment after spending the money and risking travel during Covid to celebrate such a milestone in our marriage on such a beautiful resort!! We had celebrated our 30th anniversary at the Excellence El Carmen(without the upgrade to Excellence Club) and they had gone out of their way to make it extra special. Covid protocols were great- my husband has some health issues and we were concerned at first about travelling but we felt very safe at the resort and felt comfortable to move about freely without masks. Our luggage was sanitized upon arrival, hand sanitizing everywhere you turn, our room was sanitized and had a seal across the door upon arrival, our room had a convenience kit with face masks and bottle of sanitizer and ‘health stations’ were throughout the resort to replenish if needed. The biggest comfort was knowing the resort had a courtesy suite to isolate in if we did come down with Covid while there and it was free of charge! The buffet had taken some extra measures to reduce guest handling of foods and kept things behind glass where they would serve you and tables were spaced, as well as with Theatre seating for evening entertainment. Happy to report we are home, had a great trip and remain Covid free! Great resort but not true to what they advertise in their anniversary package.

Princess Family Club Bavaro: nice resort

The hotel grounds and amenities were beautiful. We stayed in the family club and the kids loved it. The food was disappointing especially the Italian and the Indian restaurants. The Japanese was the best. We went twice. Buffet was ok. Staff were very nice and accomodating.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Nice Resort

The resort is beautiful, lots to enjoy. The service was not impressive at all. The dining room was terrible service, you can ask for tea, water or wine and get it the same time you finish eating. I think they could do a better job with organizing the dining room area. I found it very difficult that the workers didn't know the basic English, and that led them to ignore our request. Be Live Collection Punta Cana Adults Only: Very good resort. People and food very good.

Adults only side was excellent. Service at buffet was very good. Pool is good. Beach was full of sea weed and dark water. Check in was very smooth. No one help with luggage. We had to take our own luggage to the room.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Disappointed

This was a 50th anniversary family trip with disappointment from the start with poor conditioned rooms with the air conditioning not working broken Windows our room was to be a poolside deluxe but ended up a second floor backside two Queen bed’s the dress code for La cart was ignored saving pool chairs was acceptable rules were just too loose for a large resort they need more people moving transportation after night show was just chaos if you promote yourself a 5 star then be one..

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: would not go back (but clean)

This hotel was listed a a 3.5 star but it felt like a 1.5 star it was very small which we expected but it i did not enjoy it here i found my self wanting to go home the beach was great expect for the sea weed which was due to climate change so i understand that has nothing to due with the resort the pools were great as well and the staff was nice the beach chairs and pool chairs were very uncomfortable it felt like they had not been replaced since the resort opened The food was OK it there was t [... read more]hree restaurants but i did have this issue were i kept finding hair in my food my significant other did not have this problem. the bathroom in the room was nice and clean the only Issue I had in the bathroom was that after one - two minutes there was no more hot water or even warm water. The tv in a room did not work the screen was just grey we didn't even bother to complain as we weren't gonna use it the bed was very very bad when u layed down the whole middle sunk it was so hard to sleep on we woke up multiple times a night the pillows we had as well were very very hard it felt like they were made out of cement. the air was very cold so that was nice. are biggest issue beside the chairs and bed was a trip central representative never showed up we were told he would meet us at four the second day after arrival and he would talk pick up time and offer us excursions we messaged him and he sent us the pick up time but he never showed up or explain any excursions options so we had to go online and book our excursions online through a third party which was disappointing as a trip central traveller. over all i would not go back

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: Great stay

Dreams palm beach was fantastic , lots of food options , restaurants did not need reservations for al la carte, food was good , plenty of options , a la carte dining portions were a bit small but you could always ask for more , check in was done within minutes , we were in the preferred section , 4 pools to swim in , always servers at the beach and pool taking drink orders even on the beach , resort was very clean and spotless , hand sanitizer was at every entrance to the restaurants , staff wer [... read more]e friendly and always had a smile and answer any questions , , lots of say activities at the main pool and beach and evening show every night and also live music , rooms are cleaned daily and no abortifacients towels or room Items , fridge stocked daily and alway bottled water was available , we had a great time and enjoyed this resort

Ocean El Faro: Loved Ocean el Faro

The Ocean el Faro is a beautiful, modern 5 star resort. We absolutely loved everything about it! The restaurants, pools, rooms, grounds, lazy river and the entertainment crew were outstanding!!! We will definitely come back

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Won't be back to the Bahia Principe Punta Cana

No covid changes to any process from what I observed. First room had a lot of mold and with the first rain water came in from the ceiling down the wall. Took a day to get into a new room which at least didn't have mold all over the tub area. The beach was full of seaweed therefore the pool was jammed packed. Resort was full. Buffet food was not the best, lots of overcooked meat in soupy unappealing gravy. Same as the reservation restaurants, totally average to poor. Buffet was packed with [... read more] people which operated just the same as it was before covid which was surprising. Wifi was bad even the premium which I supposedly had. Once you got to Client services the people did do their best to help you but being in line for over an hour each time takes it toll especially when they tell you to come back in a few hours only to be told to come back again. Room card keys are constantly not working. Apparently do not put those near your cell phone or a credit card or it wipes out the coding on it. Several people were always at the front desk about it. Its annoying when its 11pm and you cannot get into you room and you have to walk all the way back. The trolly's were inconsistent and often did not stop for you. If you have trouble walking or getting around this resort is not for you.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Beautiful resort, crappy beach

Our room and swim up pool were excellent. I’m not sure I would have enjoyed staying here without a swim up room, but would definitely come back with my kids to the family side. The lobby is incredibly beautiful. Buffet food was pretty good - it’s not Mexico, and it’s a step above Cuba. Our a la carte dinner was disappointing (steakhouse). Gift shop is incredibly overpriced - I paid $6 USD for me today (I needed candy bc of a dry cough).

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful Reaort

The resort was spectacular. My friends and I had a wonderful time filled with lots of fun activities. My boyfriend who has many food allergies/sensitivities had no problems finding things to eat at both the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. There was sanitizer available throughout the resort, which was really the only COVID protection that was noticeable. There was no air circulation in many of the a la carte restaurants either. Riu Republica: Beautiful resort but sunwing is awful

Housekeeping was trash. bathroom had no ventilation. Our flight got delayed multiple times and they never informed us each time. ended up dumping us at the airport at 1am for 9hrs with no food,water or AC. Food/party staff were amazing tho. Don’t fly with sunwing

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

The Melia Caribe Beach resort is beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained. Rooms are clean and very spacious, balconies are large and comfortable. It is a large resort, but everything is walkable. There is a 'train' available that seemed to run consistently around the resort all day long with not much wait time. Lots of shade available at all of the pools and at the beach. Friendly staff at the pool side bar, drinks were freshly made. The buffets had enough variety for a week long [... read more] stay, and the food was good. Outdoor seating available at both, or indoors with AC at the main buffet. The Mexican restaurant was very good, but also very slow. We travelled with 2 teenage boys and they found enough to do during the day, and they had a lot of fun on the inflatable water park in the ocean. They enjoyed hanging out in the lobby at night, The evening shows were just OK, and there was not much activity around the pools during the day. There seemed to be A LOT of activities for younger children though! Booking restaurants was a challenge. Reservations could only be made the same day, and the line at 8:30AM could be very long with only one person making all reservations for a short period of time. I was told that if there was availability restaurants would take walk-ins, but we did not try this. The major disappointment was the reception staff. We requested 2 adjoining rooms months in advance, and when we arrived, were given 2 rooms in different buildings. We were told to come back to reception at 6pm the following day to be assigned new rooms. When we arrived the next evening, we had to wait almost an hour in line, only to be told there were no rooms. After much frustration, 2 adjacent rooms were eventually found and we were able to move. However, had we not been so insistent, I believe they would not have moved us.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great resort!

The hotel and the grounds were beautiful. The pools were clean, and the service was fantastic. Housekeeping was immaculate, and the personnel were helpful and responsive. I would definitely stay here again if we visit at another time. The beach was lovely but there was a lot of seaweed and high winds so the flags were either yellow or red and not many individuals swam in the ocean.

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: Dreams Macao Beach Resort and Spa

The hotel is very new so all the hardware is good. Service in general is good, especially the reception and restaurants. There are 6 restaurants which offer different cuisines, ie. French, Italian, Seafood, Mexican and a buffet restaurant, but you have to go early to make sure you get a table. My girls love the coffee shop very much and they will stop by it to have ice-cream before/after meals. The waterslide is also a lot of fun and you can spend a whole morning/afternoon there. Every night there is different event/performance in the open square, and the atmosphere being a part of it is very great. I have to say that we have a fantastic holiday at this resort hotel and our 6 days 5 night stay is really a bit short

Riu Republica: Riu Republic - Crappy Resort

My first vacation in 25 years, I was really looking forward to this trip, what a disappointment. The resort staff was not that friendly, the service was poor, the food was mediocre and the overall quality for what we paid was not worth it. Our room was without water for over 16 hours, we were told to use the bathroom down at the beach club if we had to use the facility.......totally unacceptable.... our mini bar was not restocked daily as it should be, we had to continuosly ask for service.  [... read more] The nightly entertainment was very bad, no interaction with the guests , just lame shows. Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Avoid it

It is old dated property and when i google it it say it is built in 2016. Thats not true is old property and rooms are very old they jst changwd the name and built castle and new swimming pool when u google it u think it is new but it is not. Plus if u have kids be aware bcz my daughter got hand foot and mouth infection. Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort Spa and Casino: STARTED OFF A BIT ROUGH BUT THE HOTEL RESPONDED TERRIFIC!

I have to be honest, the stay started off rough with us not getting our room cleaned and a couple of other issues. I submitted a review on trip advisor while I was there and the hotel management tracked me down. That was so important to our family and made the positive difference for the rest of the trip as they asked us what they could do to change our minds and make us happy. If you are a beach lov [... read more]er then you should consider another hotel as this beach is very busy with party boats docking, going in and out from right in front of the resort. Previous reviews mentioned this and I have to say it is true. These large boats and constant movement really muddies the water even more. I guess Bavaro beach is having a major sea weed problem as we couldn’t swim in the ocean for one day of our trip. The resort itself is beautiful, rooms are beautiful, I would recommend a pool bar as you have to constantly get out of the pool to get a drink. The restaurant’s are all excellent, food was awesome! The gym is phenomenal and is a professional gym. Theatre for shows is phenomenal as well. The most valuable part of this resort is the staff we met there. They treated us like family, it was emotional leaving them. We upgraded to the unique option which was worth it as you get extra restaurants, bars and a personal liaison rep who takes care of everything you need. In the end, I am a very fussy person and I would go back tomorrow. Here are some very special people. Jose or liaison/butler as a part of the unique Alejandro Cedeno from the unique restaurant is phenomenal and treated me like his brother. He has the heart of truth and genuine kindness you seldomly find. Belkis Vilorio is the supervisor at the unique bar and she is another jem! Treated all of us like her family! Winnie or better know as Winnie the Pooh from the unique bar was another beautiful person who always took care of us and treated us with a smile! If you treat the staff with respect you will definitely gain some long term friends and memories! I know all of these people mentioned above are forever in our hearts. Thank you
