Hotel Camino del Mar: Good resort
This is a smaller resort 40 min. from airport. They have done an incredible job of bringing it back to its splendor after the Sept. hurricane. The gardeners are constantly working keeping it manicured. What impressed me the most was the staff. Everday with smiles and a constant commitment to your needs. I met with serval vacationers who were repeat customers. Their selection of food at the buffett was excellent. 2 Omelet stations, freshly made juice plenty of breads, croissant, pastri [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Not as expected for 1900$ for 5 days
There was a very negative vibe on this property. Most of the people I talked to on this resort said they would never be back. The old area was no more than 3 star. That is where i was out. I was single and paid the single supplement and was very disappointed. The property was depressing as everyhing was brown The curtain in my room was half on and half off the rod on which they were hanging. The bed was clean and comfortable and the maid was lovely. The food was ok at times. The alchohol was [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Not 5 star resort

Sol Varadero Beach: Great Time ! Beautiful Beach
We recently got back from a 4 night stay here. Me and my husband had a great time , The staff were nice, the pool was great and the beach is stunning . We always found something we enjoyed in the buffet and the snack bar always had yummy fries and burgers, chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. It is definitely a very kid friendly resort. The Hotel is Clean however keep in mind it is older and could use a little paint job here and there but that did not set us back any.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: A Wonderful Vacation
This was my first visit to this resort. I actually did not want to go back to Cuba but Theresa and Mark had been there 2 years ago and they liked it. I was very happy with the huge Jr suites and the beds were amazing, and great pillows. We tried every a la carte, and I actually having lobster trail twice. The staff was very friendly and the gardeners were out every morning cleaning the property. The only complaint (s). 1. There is no Free Wifi at all on the property. 2. The bathrobes that are [... read more]
Paradisus Varadero: Exceptional view of the beach
This was our 5th resort in Cuba and by far the best views of the beach from the resort . No dunes or brush just palm trees. Grounds crew were visible everyday neatening up the resort and the cleaning, wait and bar staff were very friendly although in my opinion a little understaffed . The food was ok but you’ll always find something you like an as they say “ you don’t go to cube for the food “ We will definitely look at going back to the resort.
Melia Jardines del Rey: beautiful beach
you come to this resort for the beach and the low price , the beach is long , sandy and very calm . It does have a couple of nice coral and grass sections to offer great waist deep snorkling, the price is right and its only a 15 min drive from the airport . the hotel itself is a typical Cuban hotel it has it problems and shortages if you are looking to find things wrong you will find them and ruin your vacation but with a positive attitude everthing is here to give you a great vacation
Hotel Camino del Mar: Love this resort
Love this resort mostly because it's small easy to get around ,301 rooms .very nice staff, very nice view from the room pool and beach view , I would definitely go again one of my best in Cuba so far ,food was excellent especially the buffet , calamari and shrimp which I love , the fish is awesome , pasta and more . A la carte awesome especially the international restaurant. The couple things I would say that's missing is no champagne for momosa in the morning and lack of entertainment. But if [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: A perfect sized friendly resort!
Although the grounds of this resort were beautiful, we wondered why the lagoons near the central/main bar were empty. The map we received when registering was confusing in such that the names of the services did not seem to match the indicators on the map. In time, we figured it out. Our room, although we requested to be on the top floor, was on the 1st floor - when after 2 hours of waiting for our room to be ready, it lacked the face and hand towels. There were 2 single/double beds close to [... read more]
Melia Varadero: Super Resort
First impressions upon entering lobby is wow – clean, open and spacious Hallways to rooms air conditioned and clean Our room 1118 was a corner unit, spacious and had an amazing L shaped balcony – approx 7 ft wide x 27 ft x 18 ft., two loungers, 2 chairs and a table. Dining room – buffet was large enough that you never had to wait for a seat – typical of most Cuban resorts except larger selection. Ala carte restaurants are amazing, great food and service. Piano bar had most of the hig [... read more]
Melia Varadero: Amazing Resort
This hotel (Melia Varadero) was so clean and very pretty. Our room was always spotless, the people so friendly, The food was good in the buffet but the A la Cartes were out of the world wonderful. The grounds were so pretty and well kept. The location is a little too far out of Varadero for us as we like to walk in town everyday and you have to take the double decker bus which stops running at 9pm or a taxi every time. The only complaint I would have would be where the beach is situate [... read more]
Hotel Camino del Mar: nice resort/nice beach
We had a wonderful time at the Melia Cayo Guillermo. Once the bar tenders and staff get to know you they are very accommodating. Our room was kept nice, fresh bottle of water every day, but, no restocking of the fridge. The beach was perfect. Awesome water and a great place for the sail boarders, even if you are just watching! The beach bar/restaurant was nice and the food was really good. We filled up at lunch and ate lighter at night as the buffet wasn't as good. All in all a grea [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Just OK
Had a great time but the resort isn’t one I’ll go back to any time soon. Food and service needs to improve. Perhaps more staff is needed, never any clean tables at the buffet in the morning. Even tipping the staff didn’t improve service.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful Beach
The rooms were nice but make sure you have toilet paper and towels. Some staff we're amazing while others frustrated you, for example you asked for a drink and a half hour later tell another server you were waiting for a drink and she comes back that they don't have it. Why couldn't the first server tell you this?
Hotel Camino del Mar: Another great vacation
Grounds are recovering nicely from hurricane. Staff as friendly and accommodating as ever. Issues with no see ums after rain still am issue. Take bug spray. Fishing seems to better than ever with lots of fish caught
Melia Buenavista: Three different Beaches
From April 5 to the 15 we stayed at this wonderful resort, small in size , just over a 100 rooms, 3/4 of them have ocean views, the others face a wondering pool. Three restaurant all enclosed so no problems with birds, good to great meals, far above the usual Cuban offerings. Larger rooms well cleaned twice a day, we had room 321 with a balcony that looks out over the west beach.Sandra our maid was wonderful. She was training another maid who also did a great job.The room comes with an outdoor [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Not a 5 star
Hotel was basic for a Paradisus 5 star resort - I've stayed in 4 and 4.5 star in Cuba and very comparable to this one. Resort needs lots of TLC, pool was in bad shape needs much work. Staff were pleasant, food was ok, buffet pretty much same everyday. Would not return for the price.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Love this resort
Very nice resort. Food was great. Second visit and we enjoyed it as much as we did the first time. Updated shower in our room which was good. Would be nice to have free Wi-Fi in the lobby. Will be returning.
Melia Las Dunas: Worth the Price - Best Price/Quality ratio in Cuba
I don't understand why people complain about the food. It's very good for Cuba`s standards, if people go in expecting a 5 star North American food service then of course they will be dissapointed. I like to compare apples to apples, Melia Las Dunas has great quality food compared to other resorts in the region.
Hotel Vigia: Stay away! Too many issues
I took my 3 year old son with me to this resort. First our flight was delayed almost 4 hours, they put the wrong luggage on. Then during our 7 day stay the entire resort ran out of water 3 different time (wait was about 3 hours for water, each time!) and hydro outage twice, keep in mind the resort wasn’t even at half capacity. They allow locals on the resort who are very rude and will get served before you with a larger quantity of food even if you ordered before them not to mention they are d [... read more]
