Starfish Varadero: Starfish Varadero Paradise

The hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The staff are amazing throughout. From being greeted at checkin by Ismaray Dominguez, to having luggage transported by the witty Yasser (he said drinks are on him all week), it was a great start after a short shuttle from the airport. The bungalow was clean, a little dated, and the A/C issue was quickly rectified, but, the room is the place we spend the least amount of time and the bed was comfortable. Maria Esther Valdez Alfonso for the land sports activities was very sweet, and loved to chat. Alfredo Rodriguez, concierge, chatted with us by the pool for nearly 30 minutes sharing a bit about life in Cuba. What a character. The beach and the clear blue waters were stunning. Windy certain days, as usual in Cuba, but, spent much time sitting beneath a parapa soaking up the sun with a cold beverage in hand. The restaurants were decent. Always found something to eat at each meal. Not great, but, good enough. Never go with expectations and you are never disappointed. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the food. Heard a lot of resorts did not have bacon or eggs, we had eggs everyday, and bacon most days and plenty of choice for dinners. A-la-carte dinner at Spoons was the best, the salmon was a hit. Missed having french fries to snack on, but, not the end of the world. The shows and activities around the pool were entertaining. I wish I could remember all the names, because all the staff were amazing. I can't say enough about them. Overall I give the Starfish a 5 star review and we look forward to returning in 2025.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: It’s Cuba

Stayed a week, end Jan into Feb. We enjoyed our stay, room was nice AC worked, good shower. Beach is amazing, go early in the morning to put your towels on a chair to make sure you get one. Make sure to put Teatree oil in all your body wash, shampoo conditioner and make a spray bottle with vodka and tea tree oil to spray from your kneecaps down every morning and night. We always found something to eat and drink. There was a coffee bar that served amazing hot and cold coffees.. I always bring a bottle of Baileys, and I really didn’t need it this trip. I would return, but would paid the extra to book to /privilege. I tried to upgrade once we arrived, the cost was $60 US a night and they didn’t have anything available when we arrived so we didn’t bother. With the status you have your own pool bar and apparently they have better selection and a Restaurant that people said had better selection.

Valentin Cayo Cruz: Great resort and a great deal

We found the resort was well maintained. Our rooms were spacious and clean. The pools were great. The beach was beautiful, and the workers were good to rake up any seaweed that may have come ashore on the windier days. The food was often the same every day, but you could always find something to eat. We knew to expect this in Cuba, especially with the supply shortages. We were going for the sun and water, not the food . The entertainment was good and staff were very friendly.

Blau Varadero: Great resort!

Stayed in the Oceanview select room on the 8th floor. The room was beautiful spacious and clean. Maid service was phenomenal! Designs on my bed daily, the room was always immaculate when she left. Food was very good! A bit of wait in the buffet because there are a lot of people at the resort but only 2 a la carte resturants. Beach is a beautiful area with lots of room. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Loved all of it ??

My experience at the Rio De Oro was amazing! Although there were a few things not available the people and the atmosphere made up for all of it. The grounds at the resort were beautiful, well kept and there was lots of little places to find some tranquility if needed. I can’t express enough how much I enjoyed the staff. They were so friendly an accommodating. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you ?

Melia Cayo Coco: Exclusive, Enchanting Destination !

After numerous visits to Melia Cayo Coco, it has become a very special place in our lives. The service is outstanding, the Resort itself has exquisite grounds that are carefully maintained. Starfish Varadero: 5th trip to Starfish Varadero

We always enjoy our stay at Starfish Varadero. Stayed Jan 18th to Feb 1st. We like to spend our days at the beach but this year spent more time at the pools. Very windy , cool and strong waves at the beach for 7 out of 14 days. We enjoyed the entertainment especially the orange/foam party at the main pool as well as relaxing on the beds at the quiet pool. The gardeners do a fantastic job of keeping the grounds groomed and are always friendly. The food in buffet is usually cold and lacking i [... read more]n variety. Always pork, rice,pumpkin (squash in Canada),usually chicken&hamburgers, overcooked pasta, baked beans. Always delicious ice cream for dessert. Considering the situation in Cuba the past 2 years the resorts get what they can. We never left the buffet hungry. The a la cartes were always very good. We had a lovely salmon dinner at both Spoons and Milans. Overall for a 3.5 star and the price we paid for a 2 week vacation , we feel Starfish was a good choice.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: A bit tired.

Nice facility, staff great. Everything needs a coat of paint but that's ok, this is Cuba. Room was nice. They need to get toilet seats to fit the big, square toilets!. Buffet at Sanctuary was small in comparison to Grand Memories, but staying at Sanctuary we had access to both. No bacon or eggs most days, burgers were non-existent. Not many veggies of the type we are used to. The fish was mainly basa and tilapia. We won't touch either after watching W5. More carts are needed around resorts. At [... read more] check-in times they were not available, a problem if you're handicapped. The female entertainment director at Sanctuary was a rude, pushy person, not a credit to the resort. I will elaborate if the resort contacts me. Both of us were sick. Many others also. Not worth the reasonable price if you can't trust the food! No water at the market. How do the restaurant staff wash their hands and dishes? In a bucket !

Starfish Cayo Largo: Beautiful Beach

If you are looking for a variety of drinks and food this is not the place. Shortage of many items starting with the first day with no toilet paper available. Resort is old and tired and in need of many renovations. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to accommodate the guest the best they can with what is available to them. Sunwing and Blue Diamond should be ashamed of themselves that they are not living up to the contract they have with the island of Cayo Largo.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Great Value

As always the staff were happy to see us again. The food and beverage selection was pretty good (Cuba) Unfortunately the alacart was not available. Room was clean and comfortable, but Please paint the rooms.

Memories Cayo Largo: Great resort

The resort itself was very nice. It was clean and well maintained. Not too big and not too busy either. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beach was beautiful especially on the calm days. The water was the most beautiful color of blue and the sand was soft powdery white. The food was basic, which we were prepared for, but also good. We were always able to find something and never went hungry. The staff really take this resort to the next level. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Home away from home

Grounds & Puplic areas are well looked after & clean Room is made up every day & cleaned Main buffet restaurant and 2 ala cart food is good but you can’t be choosy. You eat what is available It is still a nice hotel for that price.

Starfish Cayo Largo: Another amazing week in paradise

This was my 5th time since January 2023. I’m already looking forward to returning in the next month or so. The grounds are very clean. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is a good variety of food choices. The weather was wonderful. The pool is beautiful and the beaches are breathtaking. I highly recommend this resort. It’s the perfect place to relax and soak in the rays.

Roc Barlovento: Fantastic budget hotel

I've stayed at plenty of wonderful resorts over the years in cuba, and for the price point of this hotel people should very happy. Go to cuba for the beaches, the people. Bread is pretty fantastic as well!

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Amazing Resort

Coral Level was by far one of the best in Cuba, the rooms, pool, beach and restaurants were extremley clean. The staff were unbeleivable with thier kindness!! The food was THE BEST we have ever eaten in Cuba, Gormet rest and japinese were both delish. The coral rest was on top of everything We will definately return!! Thank you Trip Central!!

Hotel Rancho Luna: Many great upgrades!

This was our 25 th trip to Rancho Luna. Shannon at Tripcentral gave us a lot of helpful tips before leaving. Our room had two new queen beds, new air conditioner, great view. The entertainment was not as loud as previous years, so got good sleep. All staff were friendly and helpful. We have 10 hours free wifi per person per week which was a nice surprise. Hair dryer in the bathroom was a first. Hot showers, every evening.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Wow… Never coming back to Cuba

Cockroaches, seriously overrun with flies and mosquitoes! Resort in serious need of paint, thorough room cleaning and repair updates! Even the cushions of chairs are deteriorated! Lack of toilet paper, bacon, pop, no eggs, worst burger ever at the Diamond snack bar… might as well be beef jerky… breakfast was the low point but lunches and dinners were adequate! Occidental Arenas Blancas: It`s Cuba Baby

This was our 4th time to this resort and our first post covid. Things are not the same things run short including the Rum on TWO (2) different days. Everything was OK but as another couple said it Needs a Refresh and We agree a couple of huge windows in the lounge area were missing but on our last day they were working on one so. The Coffee bar was yum the entertainment was fine especially the 2 pcs string group in the coffee bar they are awesome. the BEACH was incredible as ever . None of our group went Hungry or Dry but don`t expect Pina Colada`s anymore and think of basic Drinks as the Coconut Liquor and others are not available anywhere even at the tourist shops or the Duty Free. In talking to other people all the resorts seem to be short something for us no Pasta or French fries.. For others no maid service for 2 or more days one resort was short of Toilet Paper.every resort had something short or an issue like no elevators. So No pasta and running the bar s out of Rum was on the whole we did OK. PS the sailing and snorkeling trip had french fries and pasta that fixed that craving oh and Lots of RUM.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Cuba

The Melia Cayo Santa Maria is a beautiful Resort, the rooms are well kept and very high end for Cuba. There are plenty of activities going on throughout the day and the staff is very welcoming and thoughtful. The Cubans are a very proud and industrial people and we did see plenty of evidence of their hard work. The grounds of the Resort are very clean and the evening entertainment staff put on some awesome shows. The tennis courts (six) are in excellent condition which was a nice surprise. It all depends on your reasons for making Cuba your vacation destination. We go for the beach and the weather, we do not go for the food or alcohol. The conditions for import are not good in Cuba therefore the food and the alcohol suffer the consequences. However, the beer was ice cold and delicious, the weather was beautiful and the beach was fantastic.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Total disappointment

Stayed here from Jan.25th to Feb.1st. Good size room and the maid did a good job cleaning it, except for the AC that was extremely cold (unable to adjust temperature). Pool and grounds looked very clean. Stuff are very friendly..reason why we keep going back to Cuba. Food and drinks are not our primary reason to go to Cuba, but after around 20 visits, this was BY far the worst. No bread the first 3 days, no eggs all week, no wine all week, except for the specialty restaurants,(not Italian). Ver [... read more]y small buffet for the amount of guests, extremely poor selection of fruit, salads and main course meals. Sanctuary buffet only had very few limited items, you would have to grab the rest from from other buffet. Employes seemed overworked and tired, and most of the time only one waiter working at Sanctuary bar. I was recommended by Tripalcenter to read the warnings about Cuba shortages, but this was way to much. Sanctuary Grand Memories Holguin please don't rate yourselves 5 star.
