Riu Palace Costa Rica: Costa Rica Hospitality at its Best !

For the first time visiting Costa Rica - this was a great introduction to Costa Rica and the Riu Palace is nicely located to take advantage of the many attractions.The Guanacaste province has one of the most beautiful beach areas in the world. The ocean is a bit rougher than the Caribbean side - so you need to be careful with children in the ocean. Most people seemed to stay at the pools. (Didn't see a lot of children there?) If you want to visit the volcanoes and rain forest - you will have to  [... read more]drive about 3.5 hours or take a tour - but it's worth it to see the diversity of the landscape. The hotel did advertise $1240 USD in Resort Credits for a 7 night stay - but this was a bit of a sham - the credits are only $10-$20-etc discount coupons to attractions - car rentals- etc. rather than a full amount that can be credited towards what you want - this was a bit disappointing. We did request to get moved to a better room with a better view and were accommodated by Max at the front desk - thanks for the friendly service Max. The food was the best I've had in any of the Caribbean resorts we've stayed at. The peddlers on the beach are non intrusive + very friendly. The entertainment was very good with professional dancers + local music bands. We would definitely come back.

Riu Emerald Bay: Wonderful Vacation at Riu Emerald Bay Mazatlan.

We just got back from a week's stay at the Riu Emerald Bay. Check in was fast and easy, our room was great on the 12th floor. Every room is Ocean View and the views really are spectacular. The main buffet was amazing, one of the best buffets we have come across in an all inclusive. The Asian Restaurant was also very good. We did not like the Mexican Restaurant and were very disappointed in it but we did give it a try. The lunch buffet was very repetitive but we certainly didn't starve. The b [... read more]each was kept very clean and you could walk for miles on it, we were fortunate to be there when all the sea turtles were hatching. The pools were nice but a little on the cool side, wish they had been heated. The staff were great and very eager to get you anything you needed. High five to Pedro our fantastic waiter who always went above and beyond. We took a cab to Walmart to buy our Duty Free, much cheaper there than at the Airport. Then continued on into town to look around the flea market, cathedral and the cliff divers. Spent a great afternoon checking everything out. We would highly recommend this hotel and would return ourselves.

Riu Guanacaste: Great trip

Nice staff all around. Loved our view of the jungle and the morning sounds we woke up to. This was awesome, and unique compared to our previous trips as we could hear / see Howler monkeys. Our room was a good size, clean, well kept and no issues with it. We had a great time at the pool while relaxing in the loungers or enjoying the atmosphere while in the pool. Drinks were good and service at the swim up bar was quick. Swim up bar area is 18yrs and over. Pool has several built in water loungers, [... read more] jet tub areas and a hot tub. Beach was nice (dark sand, not caribbean sand due to volcanic rock). Pacific side so no crystal clear waters off the beach. We did a boat tour and snorkeled elsewhere no problem. The food was fine, you wont go hungry. My best meals were at the Italian restaurant. Some elevators were down our whole 1 week stay.

Riu Palace Las Americas: Perfect 10!

This was one of the finest resorts I have ever stayed at. The staff were friendly, never missing a "hola" as I walked passed, the food was amazing with great selection and presentation, the property cleaned to perfection.

Riu Emerald Bay: lots of locals

riu emerald bay is a great resort good food friendly staff the food and drinks change with the amount of local which in any case is a wild bunch of untraind children people complain about the elevators these people have never been in one and think they are at the c n e also very untrained parents food all over the place then complain about the bird crap on their towels there should be two seasons nov. to apr. canadians rest of the year the locals .

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: AMAZING RESORT

There was literally NOTHING bad we could say about this resort! Food was AMAZING, rooms were always clean and fridge was always stocked, people were so kind and caring. Pools and bathrooms were always clean. Beach was absolutely beautiful. This was a great experience!

Riu Palace Macao: Will Be Back- But Only If It Gets An Update!

We visited two years ago and just loved it so much we decided to travel there again. We spent one week at the Hotel Riu Macao from Dec 1st to 8th, 2017. 1. This hotel is looking tired. Even though there were some upgrades last year (new pool, two new buildings closer to the water, new eating terrace adjacent to the main buffet) the building as a whole is beginning to show it's age. 2. Our Room: The sliding doors to the balcony in our room were not working properly as the sensor on the [... read more] doors were responsible for the air conditioning. If the sensors did not meet the air would not come on. Housekeeping was great, our linens and towels changed regularly but in general the room looked a bit unkept. eg. The garbage can was unclean, the floors under the bed and dressers were not cleaned well. The room was t and if you caught the "drink guy" on his rounds to refill your fridge you were good to go. The mattress in our room was very hard and uncomfortable. We found that the average couple by age to be older than my husband and I and I'm sure if there were more mattresses as ours there would be some very unhappy travellers trying to have a relaxing and comfortable night's sleep. 3. Service: In general the service was great but there were a few servers (particularly around the pool) that felt they were "entitled to a tip" otherwise they would bee line it away from you the rest of the day. The servers on the beach side were fabulous and had quite a trek to fetch your drinks. They were always there with a smile and never missed a drive by without asking if you needed something. The lunch and dinner services at the buffet and the restaurants, again in general, were also excellent! I have to also mention new this year, no reservations were required! Show up and if they are full they will send you away with a beeper to let you know when your table is ready! psst- the lamb at the Italian restaurant and fillet at the Steakhouse were Ah-mazing! The omelettes at the breakfast buffet and awesome selection of lunch salads, cheeses and other goodies.... the hamburger at the fusion restaurant Krystal is to die for at lunch. 4. This property is so beautiful and once they have done a major overhaul it will really be amazing. It is small and intimate and we will return one day once they have made these changes. Riu Republica: Great new and modern facility

Found the staff extremely helpful and accommodating. Only draw back is that beach is vast but water extremely rough. Apparently because it is on the Atlantic side the waves are always strong...great if you surfboard etc., but for average swimmer under currents are too strong. Entertainment at night so so....and loud until around 11 pm, especially if you have a Court Yard room. Buffet was best deal for choice and quality..forget the fine dining restaurant but the best was the Steak House. Wild [... read more] dune buggy excursion fun as was zip lining. Quite a number of pools to choose from so you could be where there was a lot going on or others that were quiet and serene. All in all my whole family enjoyed the Riu Republic, and we have a lot of fond memories. Highly recommend accommodation.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Paradise on Paradise Island

From walking in the front lobby to walking out to the pool this hotel is just stunning! The staff are outstanding and so friendly. The food is amazing as well. Cannot wait to return to Paradise Island

Riu Republica: Riu Republica Punta Cana. Great Resort.

Grounds were clean and well kept. The beach was very nice. Large waves (a matter of preference - I like this) We booked an oceanview room and we were very happy with the view, the quality the size and the cleanliness of the room.

Riu Palace Las Americas: Absoultely Amazing!

The resort is impeccable, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean, the service is unmatched. Food quality and service was a definite 10. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Very good resort

The hotel is very good. The service is amazing!!! We had an ocean view room and enjoyed every day sunrise. Every staff member we encountered was kind, friendly and helpful. The food was good. We liked the lounge room that worked 24 hours - good coffee machine, some snacks and if you'd like champagne, beer, vine. The beach is amazing , however, it's not possible to swim in the ocean at all due to strong under current and how fast it drops off.

Riu Flamingos: Excellent vacation

Everything was good to excellent from the food to the service provided. Not one bad thing to say about our 7 day stay at this fantastic resort. Great value for the money. Lots of activities for the kids to keep busy, nice layout easy to get around the resort, large property but easy to get anywhere relatively quick.

Riu Republica: Great Resort

I read through the many reviews of this hotel as I usually do before leaving for my vacation to pick up tips about any essentials I need to pack. Most of the reviews were negative, complaining about the food, the beach, the air conditioning, etc., none of which I experienced at this great hotel. I have traveled to many all inclusive resorts and this one is my absolute favourite for entertainment. With so many pools and swim-up bars to choose from, each with a different vibe, you could always  [... read more]find just the right spot. There were chairs galore on the beach and at the pools and unlike most resorts, they didn't seem to be saved with unused towels all day by others who never showed up. There were exercise programs and games all day long scattered throughout this large resort. The entertainment staff were so friendly, always smiling and engaging, but not too pushy. The water slides were crazy fun and well managed. With 2 separate stages for entertainment in the evening and the disco afterwards for the late nighters, there was something for everyone. I loved the smaller stage that closed around 11pm each night as it was more interactive with the audience and there was lots of dancing. The larger stage actually had more professional acts than other resorts I've been to. This adults only resort does not have a Spring Break vibe, there were visitors young and old mixing together with no segregated areas where you felt out of place. If you are tired of the tired entertainment at other resorts, you gotta check it out!

Riu Palace Antillas: Fabulous resort

The hotel was amazing, clean and very friendly staff. The manager greeted us on our first day, he welcomed us and asked if everything was to our satisfaction. The staff at the reception/main lobby was also very helpful. Bartenders and servers all very helpful, the whole resort was very clean. Excellent place to vacation, we'd definitely be back.

Riu Palace Aruba: Paradise

Our stay was absolutely amazing. Check in was a breeze, we received our envelope and within 20 minutes, we were all settled by the pool. Our room was clean, spacious, and the best part was the ocean view from the window AND the balcony... Simply stunning. The cleaning lady did an amazing job every day and our fridge was always filled. A very special thank you to the gentleman who took care of us at the buffet every night, and set up a surprise table for my boyfriend on his birthday. They sang him happy birthday and brought a cake out for him with candles. The food.. The steakhouse was awesome! The Italian restaurant was great too, the buffet has so many options and a different theme every night, food was delicious. The beach area is beautiful and very well taken care of, always clean. It's also a great location, we went for walks every day, on the beach and outside of our resort. Our stay was perfect, from beginning to end. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Riu Republica: Riu Republica punta cana dominican republic

I stayed at this resort dec 1-8. I have been to many resorts in cuba and mexico but this is the best resort I have ever been to. What stands out the most is how clean everything and every place in the resort was. Workers were so friendly. Nobody was trying to sell you a timeshare. The drinks were amazing. The food was excellent. Presentation of the food was unbelievable and every day on the buffet was different and such a huge selection. The beach was beautiful. Riu Palace Paradise Island: The New Riu

Very modern decor that seems the trend in the Caribbean. Nice, compact, rooms. Beds are firm but comfy for us. Staff are very friendly, particularly Lyndon, a waiter. We arrived over 4hours early and our room was ready!! The steak house and Crystal restaurants were nice and the buffet was great - we particularly liked the salad bar! Proximity [... read more] to Atlantis was a few steps away and a great place to tour including a monster aquarium free if you arrive after 6pm or before 9am. Weather was a bit windy since hotel faced north but it was comfortable on beach all day. Coffee was great - cream was even available! The flight home to Toronto was a little over 2 hours.

Riu Republica: Great resort

Great modern rooms , different restaurant every night, no reservation , awesome pools and swim up bars, friendly staff and service , beautiful long beach, entertainment and Riu fit ... all did at a great price !
