Paradisus Rio De Oro: Peace of Paridise
Loved this resort everyone was very friendly and helpful. Food was good, beach and pool area was clean. Wasn’t crazy about all the crabs everywhere and leaving the holiguin airport was a disaster. I would definitely return to this resort and would recommend it.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Nova Scotia Crew
The grounds were put back together nicely especially knowing they are only a few months after Irma. The rooms were always cleaned well and the staff in lobby; buffet and most of the bars were great. There were times the pool bar staff could have been a little more attentive to folks. One A La Carte - Oriental was fine, the only thing I found is Pad Tai should be served hot not cold, and I didn't see mention it was Shrimp in it, could be a problem if you had an alergy. We were celebrating a bir [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Amazing staff
This resort was beautiful. Although it is huge, everything was in walking distance. Grounds were very well taken care of. Beach was stunning. Great service at a the bars. Buffet was not great. No signage to tell you what the food was. The mexican restaurant and the 24 hour grill were our best options for food. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable. I wish the resort or travel rep would have told us about all of the free activities as we found out about them on the ride home from a fellow traveller [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Great vacation
It is a beautiful hotel. The lobby is very big and spacious. Grounds were very nice. Beach was amazing. Pools were beautiful and could always get a chair. They have adult and family pools. Had a few issues with the room but they were taken care of in a timely matter. Saw a few familiar faces from the last time we was there. Frank was in the Buffett . He is very friendly and attentive. One of the gardeners was also named Frank. He was a very friendly gentleman. Spoke to us everyday as he went abo [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Will return!
We loved this resort. We traveled as a couple and were impressed by the beach, activities and people. The beach is the most beautiful one I have been on. If you prefer the pool they offer 2, one quiet and one with music and activities. The grounds were spectacular, I loved how they had little signs for the plants letting you know what they are. The resort was very clean. The rooms are dated but clean, always had hot water and good water pressure. Once they have renovated the rooms this place wil [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: Las Antillas
We really liked the resort, although a little dated it was clean and bright. They continually maintained the grounds, cleaned the pools, fixing the elevator which was non functional all week. The food in the a la carte restaurants was amazing! The beach was fantastic. Great sunsets!! The people were friendly!
Paradisus Varadero: Not a 5 stars anymore...
Bad service at the lobby, particularly from this employee: Dayana Food mediocre at the buffet and restaurants. Beach wonderful Coffee only drinkable at the lobby bar It took over a week to get our room with a king size bed. Tennis courts surface has to be redone. 50% of the employees provide good service. The other half is not trained and doesn't have a clue about customer service.
Melia Marina Varadero: Relaxing Resort
The Melia Marina in Varadero was very nice compared to other hotels. The food was good with lots of choices at the buffet but the 24 hour pool restaurant was another story. Don't go there if your hungry because it takes a long time to get your order. Rooms weren't horrible. The beds are hard and the pillows are thin but they were clean. There wasn't really a whole lot to do there unless you were going out on excursions. Entertainment was good but didn't start till 9:30 at night and only la [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing Resort
Thus resort surpassed our expectations. The grounds are beautiful. The staff are extremely friendly. The food is good, the drinks are great. Our room on the royal service side was perfect. Loved the outdoor shower.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Second time and loving it!
It's our second time in this resort and everything is great as usual! There's a few things you need to understand about Cuba, of course. The food is never on the top-notch international level, the service is slower than other international "five star" resorts. Once you know and accept it however, you see all the pros in Cuba and this resort in particular: - people are exceptionally loving and friendly, - the beach is amazing, - beach volleyball every day with good net - great pools. Melia Marina Varadero: Melia Marina is a beautiful Resort
I stayed at this Melia Marina resort and Spa in Varadero Cuba. The resort is lovely, the food wasn't that bad. I was told in advance that the food at Cuban resorts isn't that good, so I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to finds things to eat for breakfast, Lunch and dinner. Most of the staff was friendly although there were a few stand out bad attitudes from the waiting staff in the buffet and Snack Bar. Overall I had a relaxing time. I probably won't go back to Cuba but I don't regret [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Wonderful resort
The hotel lobby and dining area were top notch. The bar in the lobby served the best coffee with steamed milk. The view of the Marina from the balcony was awesome! Our room was ok but dated. I did not like the flat pillows or the shower without a door. The pool people were excellent very friendly and fun! I enjoyed the evening entertainment as well especially the one that was done at poolside. We had wanted to book our room for the last day for an additional 10 hours as our flight left at [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Very disappointing
I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. Customer service is terrible, very poor management, rooms and grounds do not look like on posted pictures, food and drinks poor quality. The only decent food we had was in the a la carte restorants. It’s not even 3 star hotel level but they don’t care because they got your money already.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Great value for money
Just returned from a lovely, 6-day visit. There were certainly many less-than-ideal aspects of our stay; however, given that the price was so low, it was entirely as expected and we left very satisfied with our stay. PROS: - Incredible beach and great pool areas - We never had to get up early to claim a lounger - Really great nightly entertainment which was well set up in the lobby - Value-for-money was on point for the rooms and grounds: a bit shabby, but overall delightful in light of [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Melia Las Dunas
The resort was very large but very pretty. The beaches were wonderful with white powdery sand. Found the staff to be super friendly and very helpful especially a younger guy and an older guy at the lobby bar...failed to get their names though. Also at the adult pool the little barmaid Yarentsy was trying to find my drink of choice but it was not available. Our chambermaid , Yaritsy was great and made sure our needs were met every day. We had a couple favourite people in the Buffet M [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Wonderful vacation
I really liked the Melia resort. Great beach, great entertainment. Food was fine. If I had to be picky, I would have liked a sit down bar on the resort, which would have made it easier to meet people in the evenings. Also, the wifi is pretty weak in Cuba, but I wasn't there to spend my time on the internet. However it does make online check in a little more challenging. Overall, I would recommend this resort, but if I were to go back to Varadero, I would try to get an adults only resort.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Awful resort
Food awful Customer service awful Rooms awful dirty Resort needs alot of work they can not accommodate that many people awful Beach was amazing and weather was great Will never go back or refer this resort to anyone.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Wonderful Resort!!!
Resort was wonderful. Only issue was check-in 6 am flight from Toronto to Valadero Check in was supposed to be at 3 pm We did not get into our room until after 5:30 pm Exhausting first day!! Room was nice....however....floors seemed gritty constantly. Grounds were fabulous. Food has greatly improved. Would recommend
Melia Jardines del Rey: Cayo Coco melia hardiness del Ray
From the moment we booked our trip 2 weeks ago with Tammy at trip central to reaching home last week, our trip was amazing! The service throughout was great , hotel and entertainment was good and weather was fantastic! We were delayed one day due to the ice storm in Toronto and sunwing handled it all very well. Definatly recomending it to my friends and family! 2 are going in May with family one in June and 6 in November. It was that awesome! ðŸ˜ðŸ
Melia Marina Varadero: Lousy buffet and service
The resort lacked flowers in the gardens, very green, but tidy. Not impressed with the buffet, everyday the same food. On the weekend is crazy busy and you wait at The bars and buffet. A la cart was okay, nothing that impressed me. The beach was the best, spent most of my time there, activities were fun, evening entertainment was also good. A language problem could have resulted in me not getting that wake up call upon early departure! No coffee was left in my room for 3 days! Met some g [... read more]
