Royalton CHIC Antigua: Excellent resort!

Room was a little rustic but the food, beach and staff were amazing. We woul definitely return! The drinks were great as well as the service. Fresh towels every day . You are allowed to eat at the alacarte 2 times during the week at the Pier restaurant . Food and service were good here. Plenty of chairs on the beach . Lots of kids in the pool so we stayed at the beach. We would return!

Ocean Point Resort and Spa: Peaceful Resort

This is a wonderful, small, quiet resort. There is one restaurant, with more than enough food selections to keep you full. The staff are friendly and quick to complete all requests, they even remember daily orders. (Thanks Laura for my double espresso shots every morning!) They had a professiona band one evening that was superior. Very enjoyable. There are two smaller and protected "u" shaped beaches. There is some seaweed, but you can swim past it to open water. There is no beach walking though. The pool is excellent. Smoking is allowed everywhere. However, I rarely smelled cigarette smoke. It is a breezy location which seemed to help. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quiet place to relax.

Ocean Point Resort and Spa: Lovely, Relaxing Resort

Ocean Point is a clean, relaxing, delightful resort. All of the employees are extremely polite and take pride in their service to their clients. The food was delicious. The chefs took care of my friends that have food allergies and sensitivities. Although small, the beaches were clean and very close to the rooms, restaurant and bar.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: If you are a beach person you will love this resort

For the price we paid to go to Antigua it was worth it - I have stayed in Antigua previously and paid more than double what we did to stay at Halcyon. The hotel in in need of updating - rooms were bare (place for mini fridge but no fridge, place for luggage stand but no stand, no phone or alarm clock) only one side table lamp worked - BUT when we asked for a coffee maker they came through with a kettle and instant coffee and was replenished every day, when we asked for extra pillows we receiv [... read more]ed them right away, when we asked for table and chairs on our porch they brought some right away..... the hotel was recently purchased by Starfish and it is in the pre-renovation stage which is why it was so cheap - so knowing that we knew what to expect. The rooms were CLEAN and the bed was comfy and isnt that all you need out of a room when the beach is so beautiful......... the resort is on the same bay as Sandals and I can tell you our beach was nicer and cleaner (they raked it every day) the Sandals beach had seaweed from the previous nights storm for that money I would be pissed ..... other than the seagulls coming for my hamburger at lunch and their noisy squawking when food was around the beach experience was great. Normally when resorts offer water sports (kayak, stand up board) they usually have snorkel gear - they should really think of adding it (Rex the previous owners had them in St Lucia and Grenada where we stayed recently) Food was limited but very flavorful - always a chicken and a fish dish with vegetarian options - my favorite was the west indies curry night !!!! I looks forward to seeing what Starfish does with the resort - although hearing how run down Starfish Jolly Beach is from people on our flight I am not sure ...... The people of Antigua re lovely and very accommodating and having a chance to go back and visit at the price we did - no regrets would do it again

Pineapple Beach Club: PBC - Antigua APR 20-28 2019

Pineapple Beach Club Antigua offers a very casual departure from the glitz and glam of the larger properties with the grand lobbies, marble etc. Much smaller and quaint resort with a true simplistic beach vibe. Intimate in fact. Small lobby bar comes alive a night! Great live bands in the evening! Karaoke one evening was off the chart hilarious. Pineapple Beach Club: Pineapple Beach Club. Amazing resort.

We were so pleased with this resort. First and foremost was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and dedicated to their task. No complaints whatsoever with staff, they all worked very hard to make our stay the best it could be. Even though the resort is older, it was very well kept, and staff worked hard to keep it clean. The main dining hall was open right onto the beach and with a gentle breeze blowing through most of the time, it was delightful. The little yellow birds flitting about could be a bit unnerving to some, but if you covered your drink glass with a napkin or plate while you were up getting food, no problem. The two a-la-carte restaurants were very good, although we only ate in there once each. The buffet was so amazing there was little incentive to dine out otherwise unless you were looking to be pampered a bit. The cooks do an amazing job with all the food. Very tasty and some local type foods available as well as all the regular fare you are used to. The 3 pools were well kept, but only open till 6pm, would have been nice to be able to have a late evening swim after dinner sometime, but I understand safety concerns as there are no lifeguards. Lots of off-site bookings/activities available, but you could not really walk to any of them other than "Devils Bridge" but that walk is a bit rough for anyone but those in decent physical shape. Just the gravel road in there is very rough. Water sports available on-site, SUP boards, one windsurfer, a couple kayaks, 3 hobie cats available all day everyday. Take the Catamaran Sunset cruise out St. James Club. The two skippers on the Catamaran will make sure you have a great time. Well worth the 80 bucks per person for that. Make sure you climb up to the top of the resort to have lunch at "The Outhouse". Quaint little shack of a place where they charcoal BBQ ribs and chicken and fish for lunch. Pour your own on-tap beer and soft drinks with some simple salads as well. The view is amazing from up here. So much to say, but I will sum it up by saying we would go back in a heartbeat.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: 3 star resort

Had issues with 1st room No working safe, no smoke alarm. Brown water in sink. Told them i wanted water bottles to brush my teeth. They actually wanted to charge me 3$ us. After received it for free. Told me if i wanted to change rooms it would cost 47$ per person per day.but my room would be fixed 2nd day. 2nd day no change asked to change room. They showed me another room which i agreed to,then went back to them and they asked me how i wanted to pay for upgrade. Sugar Ridge: Scenic and Relaxing

My husband and i were at the Sugar Ridge for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. It was very laid back and relaxing just what we like. We enjoyed the closeness to Jolly Harbor, restaurants, grocery store etc.a 10-15 min. walk takes you to the marina district where you will find a wide of good restaurants. We appreciated the free shuttle that was provided by the hotel to other beaches.(for the price of the hotel the beach chairs and umbrellas ($10.00 ) should have been complimentary.)We are walkers so [... read more] the resort been on a hill was no problem but if you have mobility issues this is not the place for you. The rooms were very comfortable and i loved having a dip in my own plunge pool when i returned from my morning walk. Coffee in the room was also good. We ate dinner one night at the Sugar Lounge which was very good with large portions. We were on the Breakfast plan which allowed us to order off the menu and it was always very good with a great selection. Dinner at the Carmichael's was to celebrate our 40th. We found the meal to be delicious but the service to be a little slow and for the price the food portions were very small, we did not leave full. I have already recommend this hotel to friends and family, and would seriously consider returning ourselves.Trip central website hotel details said that wine was included with the meal at Carmichaels and it was not.(it said nothing about been on a plan)i specifically asked at the resort when i booked a reservation and was told it was for the all-inclusive plan only.

Royalton CHIC Antigua: Beautiful beach! Wow!,,,

We booked this trip as a last minute deal. We got a great price for a weeks stay on a wonderful island with some of the most amazing beaches! The hotel is “rustic” and needs an update for sure, but we heard it’s coming! Some of the rooms we heard were great, with comfy beds, mini fridge, bathtubs and hair dryers. Opportunity to meet some great people without being overwhelmed with too many. The grounds were nicely kept ( some issues due to age again) and beautiful flower bushes everywhere in full bloom. Staff was friendly, and as typical when going anywhere a smile and a simple “good morning, how’s your day?” goes along way. English speaking people so no language barriers for us! The beach has some of the softest white sand. Didn’t get too hot to walk on barefoot. The ocean was soooo many colours of blue and turquoise you couldn’t even count them all. Not quite bath temp but still very refreshing in the hot sun. The entrance to the beach was tricky at first due to washed in rocks on a drop in the ocean floor, but we figured out the best spot to get in and out and we were set for the week. It did get better over the week. We didn’t go in the pool here for a couple reasons. 1) we went for the beach and beautiful beach we got. 2) we like a pool bar 3) typically all kids were in it and 4) it didn’t seem as the pump etc on the pool were working properly. Very murky ( sunscreen I hope) and just stuff floating around on the top of it. We were perfectly happy to spend all our time at the beach 🏝tho. There were locals on the beach selling tours and trips for all around the island. They’re pretty fair for what they’re selling you. We chose a historic tour with one of the taxi guys in front of the lobby. 5 hour tour was $140 US for up to 4 people. There was one buffet restaurant with a bright blue view of the ocean while you enjoy some wonderful food. No real complaints about any or the food. Flavour, variety and caters to most diets. Only complaint was that it wasn’t restocked according to the flow of guests at times. There was also one al a carte restaurant, but due to the yumminess of the buffet meals we didn’t even go to it. Lunch was always at the beach. Standard burgers, hot dogs fries and fish daily accompanied by a variety of sides. Salads, rice, pasta, veggies. Always something. Cherise is a trouper making your breakfast omelettes and lunch burgers as well. Heleen, Ken and Douffrin at the beach bar were always ready with a cold drink! Maid service left a bit to be desired, but I don’t have a maid at home so it was fine. The overall resort was good. Yes it is dated and needs some work but we didn’t need expect to get a 5 star luxury hotel when we booked a 3 star. We didn’t let the small things bother us and in that we made our last minute beach vacation a 5 star trip! Looking forward to going back again ASAP!

Jolly Beach Antigua: Starfish jolly beach resort

We stayed for a 7 night vacation, we found the staff so friendly and very accommodating. The Verandah Antigua: Great Time

The Veranda resort was a fun resort to stay and play. Two private beaches to explore including water sports. Also tennis, 18 hole mini putt, outdoor pool table, shuffle board, ping pong and fuze ball, 2 pools, one an adults only pool. We were 4 adults and had access to the Pineapple club an adults only sister resort. Nightly entertainment at both resorts and daily activity menu. The service at the restaurants was slow so plan to eat before you are too hungry and remember it's a holiday, relax and respect that your on island time.

Sugar Ridge: Magical Vacation

I highly recommend Sugar Ridge Resort, and only have good things to say about it. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and eager to chat with you. The grounds are stunning given its location set into the mountain, lending itself well to fantastic views of the mountains on one side, and the Caribbean and Jolly Harbour to the other. It is within an easy walking distance to Jolly Harbour and the shops, marina, restaurants and beaches that it has to offer. There are frequent shuttles to area beaches as well to get to you and from the beach with ease. The rooms are a good size for two people with amazing views from each unit. They are clean and airy with air conditioning which is a plus in the heat of Antigua. The resort would be difficult to navigate if you have any mobility struggles. The two restaurants on the resort have very good food at reasonable prices, and both have great views as well. This resort would be appealing to someone who is looking for a little piece of heaven on Earth- it is calm with plenty of wildlife and vegetation, only 60 rooms, and with awe inspiring views. Had an absolutely terrific vacation at Sugar Ridge, and will remember it fondly.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Things Have Started to Slip

Excellent location and amazing beach. It stops there. I have been to this resort several times and have kept going back as everything about it had been great. This trip, we discovered the resort had been sold, and no one really knows who manages it. Most things are left in disrepair, the food is now just palatable, and front desk staff are not empowered to assist with any kinds of issues that may arise. Jolly Beach Antigua: No frills resort

The beach is outstanding. Food is simple. Food choice is limited. Coffee is awful. Actually, the worst coffee ever experienced. Staff is friendly, but not properly trained. Sunwing stuff is excessively talkative. Rooms are clean. Transfers from and to airport are well-organized.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Awesome place!

This resort is exactly what we expected and more. Yes the rooms and resort is outdated and needs to be renovated but we knew that going here. Like they said 3 Star resort with 5 Star service. The beach is amazing and beautiful and so are the people. We really enjoyed our stay at Jolly Beach and will be returning very soon.

St James Club and Villas: Beautiful place, amazing staff and non-stop sun.

I visited SJC with my girlfriend after a long search for potential places to go for a week long vacation and we were thrilled with the decision. The Club is located in a beautiful and peaceful area with options to look towards the ocean or into the bay. We opted for the ocean, as it provided a nice (but not crazy) breeze, which was very appreciated with the hot weather, and was calmer and quieter compared to the bay side. The staff at the SJC were top tier and lovely across the board. Perfect place if you're looking for a relaxing place to hangout. Rooms were a bit dated but perfectly appointed and served the purpose with great views for most. Ocean Point Resort and Spa: A hidden jem

For those wishing for a quiet week vacation on the beach, away from kids and noise, this is the resort for you! Small and very proper, has only 3 stars because you have only one restaurant, but such a nice Italian one! There is also a bar on the beach, a nice Olympic size pool, many lounge chairs and parasols, waiting for you. I loved doing snorkeling from the beach! To my shame, on the first days I forgot that fish need lure, so only on the forth day I remembered to take a banana and give s [... read more]mall morsels to the tropical fish that appeared from under the rocks. And one other nice surprise: the flowers, lots of tropical ones covering the grounds as well as the walls. The rooms have really a magnificent ocean view and are very clean, bathroom a bit small. The Wi-Fi was working but with some interruptions at the beach level. I also tried the massage at the small spa on the premises. Unfortunately, the lady does not understand English too well, so instead of a relaxing session I received a very strong Swedish massage. Une thing for those going to Antigua: bring US$ not Canadian. You need not more then 100US$ for small purchases and tips. Otherwise the credit cards are charged on Caribbean Dollars (EC$) after the US$ price is converted to EC$. Very strange procedure! 1US$=2EC$ or this should be! Trip from/to airport: 10 min! Waiting for a taxi: 30min! And yes, if the price will be the same and not increase too much we will return next years.

Ocean Point Resort and Spa: It was amazing scenery

Omg, Antigua was one of the most picturesque places I have been too. Ocean point was a pretty good hotel, very hospitable and attentive to their guests. Definite return 😁 They have 365 different beaches so that’s a A beach day for one year and I am not complaining by that at all especially since I am such a water person and love the beach love snorkelling love fish and just anything tropical

Jolly Beach Antigua: Great resort!!

This hotel is great. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the air conditioning was not cold enough, it was preset at 16c and you couldn't lower it. Rooms are basic but clean. No complaints with the food, or drinks. Beach is amazing. Would definitely return to this resort.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Nice stay.. Best beach!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Starfish jolly beach. The hotel for sure was a 3.5 star at best ..our room was falling apart but we didn't bother complaining about it as I believe the rooms were all in this state (old but mostly functioning fan/AC,s etc). We had a nice beach view from our balcony which was lovely. The staff at the resort were extremely friendly and the food was delicious!! We only ate at the buffet and were always satisfied. Would go back to Antigua and Jolly harbour Beach but likely would stay at a private villa or a different resort. Thanks for the stay! Note: we didn't do any excursions but we took the local bus down to the city which was nice (the bus looks like a minivan sized shuttle not a typical bus which would have been helpful to know beforehand). They take ECD not USD but we were able to get ECD from the lobby
