Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort with lots to do!

The Royalton Riviera Cancun is a beautiful resort with lots of things to do. The staff are very kind and the grounds are well maintained. The basic rooms are comfortable, but don’t expect too many frills. The Al La carte restaurants book up, so you need to book them the moment you arrive and get on wifi, otherwise you won’t get in to any.

Barcelo Maya Riviera: Great adults-only resort to unwind and enjoy the sun!

Easy shuttle process organized by the airline to the Barcelo resort (around 1hr 15 mins from Cancun airport). The overall property is quite big with six different resorts, with the hotel on the south end being the adults-only resort. It is a modern-looking hotel compared to the rest of the property and had great amenities (large pools, good access to the beach, lots of options for sports/fitness activities, and lots of variety of restaurants in the adults-only resort and across the property).  [... read more] The beach is pretty rocky by the adults-only section, but you can walk about a hundred yards to the left and the seabed is a lot smoother and easier to access. Restaurants have good variety and are pretty good across the respective cuisines. Buffet is also a good option for a variety of dishes, especially the desserts and fresh fruit. We got a premium swim-up room which was nice to enjoy a quick dip if you didn't walk to go all the way to the main pool area. The towel game is very much in play in the mornings with most chairs snagged by around 8-9am. The late night shows are great with several options across the various resorts, the ones at the adults-only hotel isn't quite as strong as the others, but you can take the shuttle to attend the other events such as Broadway musical hits, circus, salsa performance etc. All in all, very good resort and great value to enjoy in Riviera Maya.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Great Stay

We were here for only for four nights. The hotel was fantastic, the food was great and overall experience met all expectations for a five star hotel. The buffet and staff there was the stand out as well as the coffee shop in second place. Things that were annoying: the water pressure wasn’t amazing and the hot water had a slight sulphur smell, but maybe that’s a Cancun thing. The lights in the room needed a PhD to figure out. The bar tenders seemed overworked and a bit grumpy

AVA Resort Cancun: Not as good as expected

We took a family vacation here, early April 2026. I have to say overall it was a disappointment. We’ve been to several Mexican all inclusives and while this one shows nicely, the actual experience is lacking. The staff were the biggest disappointment. They seemed very disinterested and almost resentful to serve you. I wouldn’t go as far as saying rude, but at times close to it. In the hotel there are lots of activities, but take lots of money as they all come at an additional cost in US dollars. [... read more] Another thing we didn’t like was the constant approaches by the sales people to try and sell you their time share membership. They position themselves in the main walking areas and are always there. Then speaking of timeshare membership, there are certain areas, pool, patio loungers etc where you can only go if you’re a member. I personally found this frustrating considering the cost of the trip. I could go on and say that this resort is sub par in housekeeping, restaurant service and availability, pool service, pool lounger availability.. If you like the beach, don’t expect anything at this resort. I would not recommend going here.

El Cid Resort Castilla: Amazing resort

The resort was absolutely amazing!!!! 2nd time here and they have certainly leveled up since the first time!! Staff is amazing, grounds, rooms and all buildings are clean and beautiful. Beaches are beautiful!

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Awesome time

We had a great time at the Krystal Grand. The week went by way too fast. Everything was excellent from the time we arrived till the time we left. Room, swim up, beach, pools were all great. We would definitely go back.

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Wonderful vacation

The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept on at an all inclusive. While some of the areas may seem dated compared to newer modern hotels, it’s in great condition and so well maintained. Food was fantastic and service was hospitable and friendly. The pools were great as the two by the beach had excellent views of the beach and were practically on the beach. My preference was the infinity pool that was not heated. It was fresh and cool! The oth [... read more]er pool was heated and perfect when that was needed. The beach is stunning! The teams work diligently to remove seaweed and we were able to swim in the ocean. There is little to no night life at this hotel but this was perfect for us. Overall, I’d stay again and would recommend!

Iberostar Selection Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort

This resort is beautiful. The rooms are very nice & the beds & pillows are super comfortable. The food was great, especially the daily BBQ near the pool. The staff at the restaurant were awesome always took care of you, and very very nice. The hamburgers were so good. The pizza hut was just ok pizza. Many pools which was great, but only things I disliked was no stairs in the pool, only ladders to get in and out of the pools. The coffee shop had great cappuccino. The front desk people were sup [... read more]er nice, but the only downfall was after you are checked in the send a rep to talk to you about the resort and the get you to be involved in a 90 min meeting about selling their resort to you in a similar of timeshare. Some become very aggressive, not all! The rep i had did! if you repeated say NO! This was the biggest downfall for me I come to relax and not have to deal with Reps repeatly coming and talking to you about buying into their packages to return to cut out the middle person basically ( airlines/ travel sites) this was a big turn off & why I wouldn't recommend or return to this resort. My opinion this is situation is making people not wanting to return after dealing with this. I had talked to other guest also that didn't like this, & said they wouldn't return either because of it. The entertainment was great. The lobby bar wasn't open 24 hrs and open later which was kinda off has you would have to find another place to get a beer or drink until they did. They should have at least 1 bar open 24 hrs. The beach is non existent, very very small. We knew this but it was kinda a big downfall also. Their was 3 designated smoking areas with seats to sit but they ready should have some shade around them has it is full sun at all. Overall the staff was awesome, but not the Reps selling, this didn't sell me to return unfortunately. It was a nice vacation but not the resort for me. I wished I had a better experience for my 1st time in Mexico, it was just OK for this resort~ just my opinion.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Great vacation spot

The resort staff where excellent, food was great, all pools were clean and lifeguards very attentive, rooms were clean and lots of hot water for showering. The beach was free of garbage and you could walk into the water on fine smooth sand. We walked to the two other Decameron resorts nearby and refreshed our thirst while there. Secrets Aura Cozumel: Great location

The hotel is showing signs of being tired and in need of a refresh. The location is amazing, beautiful beach and great pools. The food is great in the restaurants. The buffet was great for breakfast but not a great variety at supper. As soon as we checked in and throughout our stay they tried to sell us the Hyatt vacation club. It got annoying!

Barcelo Karmina: Disappointed

This hotel was probably great at one time, but it definitely needs a refresher. The bathroom especially needs attention, mold is an issue. There was a problem with bugs coming up through the drain. The grounds are beautifully kept. The service was not great, understanding English was an issue. Only one area for adults only which is very small and overcrowded. The food was adequate. I would not recommend this resort to anyone.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: I couldn’t ask for anything more!

I have just returned from 8 days at the beautiful Hyatt Vivid and it was fantastic. The hotel made sure that everything was done to make our stay a wonderful experience. Firstly, the staff. They work so hard. The hotel and rooms are spotless. The service in the bars and restaurants are efficient and friendly. The front desk staff are very welcoming and available to answer any questions that we had. There is always a staff member around and available for any questions. The hotel is spotle [... read more]ss and very well cared for. It is beautifully laid out and easy to get around. We loved our room. Very spacious, and the bed was so comfortable. There is a great variety of food, all of it delicious and made from delightfully fresh ingredients. We did not ever go hungry or thirsty! Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres: Recent visit to Oceans Allure Costa Mujeres

This resort is fairly new so maybe some kinks are still being worked out, however my biggest disappointment were the restaurants. Firstly the buffet was not available for dinner. The a la carte restaurants were very busy, causing wait times no matter what time you went there.Once inside the servers were run off their feet, to the point where they were unable to provide proper service to their customers. This made for an unenjoyable dining experience.Another point I want to make about the food is [... read more] the quality of the various dishes is very poor and the size of the portions is very small particularly the Tappenaki Restaurant, the was ridiculously small. Aside from that the grounds of the resort were tidy, however near the pool areas there were not enough washrooms.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Luxury

Our 3rd visit and was still a gorgeous resort, food is top notch! Don’t care too much for the entertainment as once you’ve seen these shows it’s the same every time. Service is top notch and worth purchasing the prive package with the perks.

The resort was beautiful. A+++. It, in many cases, exceeded expectations. The grounds were beautiful, very earthy, full of wildlife and private, which is exactly what I like. The options for pools, the large fun pool, another pool for laps or just hanging out while still able to hear the music from the large pool was great, and then of course the golden pool, which is like a lazy river, was wonderful because it also had access to snacks and drinks and a really laid back vibe. The live music before and after the show was current and felt perfect for the vibe of the resort. The live shows were good, and with updates to the venue would improve their appeal. The service everywhere was abundant, and everyone made you fee truly special. Having access to quick room service (45 minutes) was awesome. The variety of food as well as its flavors was excellent, and the service wonderful. Wish the waves were not so abundant the week we were there, but the beach was also very beautiful. El Cid Resort Castilla: Good resort

The hotel was very nice.Lacking in nite. Entertainment.2 nites out of 14 had live music.Then karaoke. Very glad we bought elite gives u so much more to use.Especilly the adult quiet pool..Would never travel at Easter again.To many local with children come. Riu Emerald Bay: Excellent resot

Extremely friendly staff. Clean Excellent entertainment location was great not to far from the airport I really can't find anything negative to say. Yes the elevators were slow but really who is in such a rush on Holiday's. I would gladly return to this resorts.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great for kids

The kids pool are was amazing. The boys wouldn't stay out of it. We had a swim out right in front of the water park. Highly recommend so you dont have to fight for lounges.. Pool chairs and umbrellas are gone early in the morning. People are up at 5:30 to put towels on chairs. They dont enforce rules to stop hoarding lounges. The food was resort food, good but not great. Restaurants are hard to book. The trucks had amazing fresh fish fingers. The property is beautiful but unfortunately the be [... read more]aches were covered with the sawgrass. Ocean swimming was not enjoyable.
