Sandals Royal Curacao: Really lovely resort

Friendly staff and lovely resort. Not a large pool area. Some minor room issues -very musty in ours. My parents room had broken safe and a/c not connected to their key card. Those things were promptly fixed. Toilet clogs Very easily but fixed by staff promptly as well. Food was amazing and portions are crazy big so it’s actually good value. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Sunscape Curacao

Curacao is a beautiful island! Sunscape hotel was fantastic overall. Excellent service, staff very helpful. Entertainment staff has boundless energy! Hotel and grounds very clean. Lots of activities and abundant beach area. Only issue was the food. Need more variety with the lunch and dinner menus, especially the buffets. At the buffets, the same menu was used for lunch and dinner for the entire week. And yes--the restaurants for dinner have different selections. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great Resort

The rooms were very clean. They were cleaned daily and our fridge was stocked. Loved our oceanfront room. The staff was friendly and the entertainment staff was A lot of fun. My only complaint was the food. It lacked variety. The buffet was always the same and the restaurant meals could use revamping. I loved the coffee cafe. And the evening snacks that was provided. The drinks were strong.

Sonesta Maho Beach: one of the best!

Initially, I was worried about this resort as the reviews were very mixed. I am not sure why I worried because it was really great experience! Friendly staff! Clean ground and hotel! highly recommended.

Acoya Curacao Resort Villas and Spa: Relaxing Retreat

The Acoya is a well maintained property that's boasts a wonderful common area with tons to do. The dining experience is a bit on the salty and fried side and could use a bit more variation and seafood offerings.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Wonderful staff, nice beach

Used to be a very enjoyable resort. This year, cold food, one bar only had Bacardi which they would regularly tun out of, renovations etc. We were told about the renovations approx 12 hours before departure. Prices went way up but Resort has become a 2*. Will not go back!!! Absolutely no fun, a lot of very unhappy people.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Nice enough resort, still recovering from hurricane.

Rooms were ok, air conditioning unit didn’t work well. Public areas could have been cleaner. Pool area in poor condition, food was just fare. Staff was great and very attentive. Sunwing Airlines just horrible, We were bumped from our seats that we purchased over three months prior, our flight was changed to stop in Montreal and then Saaint Martens. I was more less called a liar at check in Toronto, I tried to have the lady look at my paperwork to show her my purchase of Elite seats she more l [... read more]ess told me to shut up, finally after 20 minutes of yapping on the phone in front of me she looked at my phone with the receipt with the row numbers we had purchased. Once we arrived in Montreal there were other people that they sold the same seats to. Of course on the way home when we were in the Elite line we were tossed out of this line and told we were in general boarding. We had a regular seat, and there was kids sitting in the Elite Seats. It is not that we think that we are better than anybody, it’s that my husband and I both have health concerns, he is a bigger guy and needs more room. It was our 35th wedding anniversary, All the people stayed at Maho and there was A lot of animosity, my husband didn’t what to leave his room. Will never ever purchase a Sunwing Vacation again Everybody beware of this Airline,on the other hand if you want a middle line family vacation this resort would be fine.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Good for the price

The service at the resort (for the most part) is horrible. Don’t let that ruin your vacation. My advice - don’t tip until you find a bartender slash server who deserves it (a couple do). Those employees will take care of you. The beach is beautiful and the rooms are very nice and updated. I’d recommend renting a car and checking out the entire island. If you go to Philipsburg to shop, you will find cheaper prices in the actual stores versus the outdoor market areas. Most employees are not happy to be there and are just going through the motions during their shift. I blasted one bartender who served someone who walked up to the bar. I had been standing there for over 15 minutes. This seemed to be a primary French speaking resort (vacationers). Lots of old people, couples and families. If you are young, go in a group. My friend and I didn’t make many friends, lots of snobby people. Night life on the resort is brutal, but you can shop or hit the casino(s) or club across the street.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Amazing place!

Had a great time at this hotel. They did a great job at rebuilding it since the hurricane! The hotel was clean however lots of straws on the beach! Luckily they just began phasing them out. Would be nice to see more efforts like that in reducing plastic consumption

Sonesta Maho Beach: Disappointing Anniversary Getaway

My husband and I decided to go to this resort to celebrate our Anniversary on August 18th. When we got there, we were amazed with how fully renovated the building is. However, we believe that the most important thing a vacation can offer you and their service and how it makes you feel. Not a single welcome package was given to us. Most resorts would give out a gift basket for anniversary celebrations, even decorate a romantic room - no questions ask. We didn't want to ruin our first few days, so [... read more] we let it go and decided to just book a romantic dinner at the resort ($200 cad) - this was expensive for us but we wanted to feel the celebration a bit more since the resort lacked that touch - we decided to just pay for it. We booked with the agent and she was ecstatic to find out that we were celebrating our anniversary. She even promised that she'll have our gift baskets and have our room ready for a romantic night on that day... (i was excited) We were booked for dinner at 7 pm at the ocean point for their private romantic candle lit dinner, the hostess just pointed us go to the rooftop and just told us the directions....there were no lights, no one at the top... it was empty and we had no idea where to sit or if anyone will be aware that we will be there... she couldn't have seated us... and I have a video footage of the whole thing since we were expecting that it would look romantic and delightful (we have been to other romantic dinners offered by other all incl. resorts and we indeed enjoyed them!) to our surprise, it was sketchy and we felt abandoned. We waited for about 10 mins.. and finally saw a staff, who was cleaning up not sure if putting away/cleaning stuff and just putting them back on.... it certainly did not feel like they were prepared for our reservations... we had no one to talk to, no server, no manager, no hostess around, no light on the rooftop, no candle light, no menus, no food. It was very disappointing. we left the area and had informed the front desk that we will have to arrange another dinner reservations as the one we booked was clearly a fail. We had to go outside of the resort, and went to Jax;s for steak dinner instead, which gave us a phenomenal service. After dinner, i was hoping at least one thing that the booking staff promised us would come true,.. I was hoping to have our room at least to be filled with balloons/petals as promised by the staff... added to our disappointments, this was not successfully done either... The next day, we bumped into an HR manager and had informed her of what happened, the name of the staff that arranged the reservations and her promises to give us a gift in our room and decorate it. I had given her my information and room number then she assured me that she will look into it and that she will prepare something for us to compensate for the inconvenience. Waited for days, and NOTHING. Sonesta Maho failed to give us even just a satisfactory vacation experience... Many people i know that had gone on the trip also had the same sentiments and we know that we will definitely not be back.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Horrible resort!

If you love beaches and airplane watching, you might consider this resort. Otherwise dont bother. The services, the quality and quantity of the food are very bad. You would be left hungry if not knowing when go to eat. The pools are very small and crowed.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: fantastic family resort - lovely beaches

Extremely well managed resort- staff are genuinely kind to all guests and one another! The food varies and it is never difficult to get a table for dinners. The beach and pool areas are well kept. The resort is perfect for families

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Excellent family resort

This report is perfect for families with young and teen children. The beach is amazing and the hotel is small enough to feel safe for youngsters to wander around, but big enough to offer enough variety of services.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Do your homework

The hotel is not ready to be an all inclusive. The rooms are great, clean, modern and new. The pool and beach are great. The drinks are good, beer from a can not draft. The food is terrible. The resort cannot accommodate the number of guests and the food options and limited and not good. Reservations were impossible to get at the restaurants. We ate off site and that made a huge difference.

Sandals Royal Curacao: Lots of fun

The resort was really nice, the staff was nice as well. The only problem with this resort is that, it’s really far from the hotel and going into town can be costly as well. The shuttle busses from the hotel to town don’t run everyday. Going in and out of town will cost you about 80$ a day. The trip from airport to hotel about 70$.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Beautiful resort but disappointed with the service

The hotel is very beautiful property and clean and well kept. However, a couple of things could be improved. Speed of the elevator was extremely slow while checking in. My suggestion have bell boys that take the luggages to the rooms through the service elevator and avoid the massive line-ups that takes an hour to grab an elevator. As well, have more bartenders at the bars. More selections of food and be staffed properly to handle the amounts of guest you have at the hotel. Have more or do something about people that reserve chairs and leaves for hours. There are a lot little things that management could do to improve everyone’s stay at the Sonesta.

Room was very nice, spacious&clean. The options for dining were good. The pool was very nice! Beach area beautiful! Lots of chairs and umbrellas for guests.Area was very clean.Latin night band playing at night was awesome!Staff was friendly! kidsfun room

Acoya Curacao Resort Villas and Spa: Clean and quiet resort

We stayed at the Acoya in June 2019. The hotel had a nice open lobby connecting to the pool/dining area with rooms surrounding it. We had a family room which was made up of 2 separate bedrooms joined by a washrooms in the middle. Having the 2 rooms was nice for our family of 4 but these rooms do not open into the pool area. If we had an opted for the apartment, there was a door in our family room that would have opened up to a living/kitchen area and master bedroom that all had a pool view.  [... read more] This would have been a good option and we would consider for future visits. Rooms were clean and comfortable but lacking a balcony for drying swimsuits. Front desk staff were helpful. They provided us the needed adapters for our devices, helped us make restaurant reservations, and toured us around the facility so that we could see what else we could book next time. We mainly used the hotel as home base as we went out to westpunt most days in the morning, return later in the afternoon to clean up and then go out to dinner in Punda. The hotel was far enough away from the beach/downtown that it was not walk-able (nor advisable as the some of the areas were not that nice). We hoped that shuttle would be sufficient but the timing did not suit our schedule as it meant spending 6 hours either at Mambo beach or downtown. Driving from here was easy though with good access to Punda (7 minute car ride) and parking at hotel is plentiful as well. We ate at the restaurant once and it was good but pricey. There are many great restaurants nearby and we wanted the variety. There was entertainment most evenings which we enjoyed. The hotel had a quiet clientele which we appreciated. The Acoya was not overly staffed – in other countries/resorts we have visited, staff would always be around the pool area in particular, cleaning, tidying, asking if you needed anything. This was not the case here but it was low season so perhaps that is why.

Beautiful grounds, Extremely professional staff, the entire resort is spotless, We enjoyed hiking, cycling, golfing, beach and pools, also loved the hanging out in the hammocks, the great room provides stunning Ocean views, within a relaxed casual atmosphere
