Great resort.Nice location.i enjoyed our stay food was very good. You can do lots of walking. Walking to the store. Saw dolphins swimming and playing with the ball. Very secure place.High quality public transportation comfortable and safe.
The resort grounds were very very clean and there were always workers cleaning and picking things up. The biggest plus of this resort is the staff! The friendliest and helpful workers overall of any all inclusive we’ve been to. The drinks were great with lots of choices. À la Carte restaurants Ma Maison and Rio were very comparable to decent Canadian cuisine. The gelato bar and cafe are delicious. The pools are busy. And the chair game is real! If you’re not up and reserving a chair before 7am y[... read more]ou’re not getting one by the pool! It is a family resort and we have kids but we were not ready for the amount of toddlers and babies. It’s probably had the most amount of children running wild. The lazy river is amazing and we spent so much time in it!
Rooms are fairly comfortable & cleaned well. We had a private cabana with pool one day and it was well worth the price and our best day at the resort. Overall it’s a nice resort for a decent price. We were almost scared out of coming to this resort because of complaints of sickness and food, but, no one in our group was ill. We couldnt use the beach because the sargassum was so bad the week we were there.
The only complaint would be a little updating the waterpark slides and updating the beds and pillows (the beds/pillows and bedding were quite hard and not comfortable). And even though it’s a family resort we were a bit annoyed by the sheer volume of whining kids. We would return to this resort for sure but as Diamond Club to get a break from the busy family side.

Bahia Principe Escape Tequila: Perfect resort for a restful vacation.
The Grand Tequila is located in the perfect spot with easy access to the other hotels in this area. The rooms are spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. The only suggestion I have is that there could be a waiter from the bar coming around in the quiet pool offering cocktails.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing resort
This was our first visit to the resort and we thought it was beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained. Although it’s a large resort, it never felt crowded. The beach is lovely, but we spent most of our time by the pool. We played pickleball, and the kids especially loved the mini golf and escape room. The buffet food was delicious, and we enjoyed having ice cream every day. We would definitely love to visit this resort again.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great resort
We had a couple of complaints. The registration and a la carte booking process doesn't work. We were unable to pre registration so therefore could not make a la carte reservations. We do not eat dinner after 8pm and the only reservation anyone in our group of 9 got were after 8. We therefore ate from the buffet for 10 days and it was getting very hard by day 7. Not enough gets changed up from day to day. The dishes were not properly labeled which made it more difficult.
The 2nd negative but [... read more]not a deal breaker was, we were in 7824 and it had a very musty smell. I could see you were updating the rooms, this building really needs it. Lastly, your booze seems to be watered down or just really cheap. You did not have to worry about getting tipsy on the alcohol. The wine or beer was the only way you felt like you had had some drinks.
The positive side is the staff are amazing!! Your customer service is excellent. We were treated very well.

The Fives Oceanfront Puerto Morelos: Very Nice Resort
This is a lovely, relaxed resort, with a few recommendations and improvements that could be made. Firstly, the resort is not adult only, but the rooftop pool and area is adult-only - this was a nice surprise as this wasn't reflected online or in any review my boyfriend and I read.
The rooms at the resort are nice. My partner and I got upgraded to a partial Oceanview junior suite which was so kind of the resort! The bed and sheets were very comfy, but the bathroom, you could tell it needed a f[... read more]ew upgrades. For example, the shower door was malfunctioning, such that with every shower, water pooled on the bathroom floor a lot. But honestly, that was only a minor issue.
The resort is overall very clean and lovely. The pools are gorgeous, and the beach is nice. Yes, there is seaweed, but honestly it's everywhere - down the entire beach, and in other areas of Mexico. The beach was not rocky, and white sand; very enjoyable.
Activities and events were minimal, but fun. We enjoyed a bike tour through town, yoga, and bracelet making. They even had live bands on the beach Saturday and Sunday afternoons which was a fun vibe. No evening entertainment really; a few live music nights, but it's a pretty quiet resort in the evening. My boyfriend and I didn't mind though, as we weren't looking for such a party vibe.
The food was hit and miss. The breakfast and lunch were really good - lots of variety. Fish tacos, chicken burger, fries, fruit were really good. The dinner options were limited. We were surprised to find out that 3/6 nights, only 2 restaurants out of 3 were open. The beach restaurant never served their dinner menu (at least to our knowledge) - which was disappointing. Thus, we were left with only the rooftop menu which was basically all fish, and the Italian menu. The fish/rooftop menu was disappointing. The beef fillet was good, but the sushi, octopus tostadas, and a few other items on that menu were not good. The Italian menu was pretty good; the mushroom risotto and pesto ravioli were delicious. Overall, wouldn't say food was amazing, but it was pretty good.
The staff and service were overall excellent. Everyone was very kind, and willing to help. Thank you to the amazing staff!

Dreams Natura Resort and Spa: Just an O-K resort.
Food was pretty good which was the highlight. Staff were nice enough, but the staff to guest ratio was off. Long bar lineups and slow pool service compared to other resorts we've stayed at - despite tipping every round. Ie. Drinks were sometimes melted by the time they got there. Hyatt seems to be intensely cost cutting, even that seemed a reason to keep drink rounds slow or self serve. Bars closed much earlier than posted hours (by 10 instead of 1030 or 11 or the disco supposedly open till 1 ?)[... read more] and we were told sorry you can get a can of beer if you want by a grumpy bartender. Seemed like staff wanted to gtfo come 930. No bar drink menus posted, no mint for mojitos a lot of the time, bar wouldn't make shots "its a family resort" which we certainly weren't going crazy by any means. Usually if you asked for a drink from their online menu they couldnt make it, only very basic recipes. Or inconsistent, some people got garnish some didnt, some got a completely different drink despite ordering the same thing. Now onto the rooms and grounds and hotel: our first room reeked of mold and had staining like it had flooded, door was all warped. I know Mexico is humid but this was insane. We asked to be moved and it was better, our families other room (swim up) had no smell and was much better. Between the 2 rooms, they had inconsistent amenities. One slippers one without, one had a soap dish, one didnt lol. We borrowed an ihome charger alarm clock that was in my sisters room because the rooms had barely any working outlets and when we returned it to her room on the last day, they called me to accuse me i stole the alarm clock when our room never had one to begin with ?.
The resort itself is in o-k condition, but if it is only 5 years old that shocks me as there were signs of disrepair. Grounds are well kept but other resorts we've stayed are nicer. The pool chair game is annoying but we were able to get a spot at the preferred pool (some days better than others like some days no umbrella available and sat there burning) without going out at 6am like the other freaks. Could never get any chairs at any of the other pools. Beach and sand are nice but water murky and sargassam but if you manage expectations that way it was fine. Waterslides and zip line good, lazy river and activities and entertainment were meh. Another weird thing is they use carbon paper slips to take your order...no ipads or at nice places they do it by memory just seemed weird for a huge hotel chain, like what year is it! Charging an add on like a special bottle of wine, or spa treatments etc to your room was a whole ordeal where you were made to sign your life away in 3 highlighted spots on a carbon receipt book and handwrite 'i accept these charges' ? it was so outdated. Staff seemed legitimately scared if they didnt follow every protocol to a T. There were just a lot of cost cutting penny pincher vibes overall. For $8k for the 2 adults and a kid on this trip, I would not stay here again. Its just on the higher cusp of mid tier, and would have paid a couple more grand to have those smaller details looked after that I notice.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Beautiful resort
The resort offers so many activities. Most of the experience was fantastic. Front desk staff was less than helpful. Horrible experience checking in. Had sent a email request for the two rooms to be close in proximity and they were as far apart as you can imagine. They refused to try and change rooms for us we were a party of 3 women and would have felt safer if the request would have been met. The dinners were amazing and all the other staff went above and beyond to make our experience amaz[... read more]ing.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Excellent Resort
A very large beautiful resort. Lots of pools and beautiful grounds. Very nice staff. Excellent food, lots of options. It's a nice touch to have access to the other 4 resorts. Beach was nice but rather rocky. The evening theater shows could use some work. Just like most resorts lounge chair reserving by the pool was an issue, you had to work around. Overall I would return.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Amazing Resort
We dealt with Jennifer Brown of Tripcentral. As usual, she's amazing. Thank you. To say this resort is large is an understatement. The grounds are amazing and extremely well kept. They do have trolleys. The buffet has lots to choose from. The restaurant dishes were amazing. I can't begin to tell you how great this place was. Stayed there 12 days and that wasnt enough.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Truly an amazing stay!
We recently stayed at the Grand Oasis Riviera resort. We had a fabulous week stay. We loved how clean and friendly staff were. The food was very good and lots of options to enjoy. We particularly loved how quiet the resort was. Always somewhere to sit and enjoy a beverage. Our room was on the first floor and our building was very close to the main pool. However just outside the patio doors of our room was a 3.5 foot deep pool and lounge chairs. So most of our time was spent here reading and [... read more]enjoying the sunshine. We took advantage of the sports bar cafe and enjoyed coffee and snacks from here each day. We have stayed in other resorts in Mexico and found this resort to be by far our favorite. Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great Week
The grounds were beautiful, pools were beauftiful, staff was amazing and drinks were good. That being said, rooms are very dated, but were clean. We were on the second level in section 8.
The big concern was lack of loungers at pools and beach. There are only 6 palapas at the beach (unless you are a Circle One member). No shade. That was a BIG disappointment.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Would not recommend
Rooms smelled too musty
Service was not very good
À la carte restaurants took over an hour to be served not enough staff to look after all the guests
Definitely not enough loungers at the pool and beach area too many people complaining that they don’t have enough loungers and there were even altercations due to not enough loungers
I will not be returning to that resort

Barcelo Maya Colonial: 2 words...horrible service
Our stay had a few good moments, but overall the experience was defined by ongoing service frustrations that became impossible to ignore.
Across most of the resort, proactive service simply doesn’t exist. Getting a drink, finding help, or having someone check in on guests usually meant going on a bit of a scavenger hunt. After a few days of this routine we started jokingly referring to the place as “Bar-celo” instead of Barcelo, because actually getting a drink often felt like a small achieveme[... read more]nt worth celebrating.
To be fair, when you did manage to find a staff member, they were generally friendly and helpful. The issue wasn’t attitude. The issue was that there rarely seemed to be enough people around to actually provide service. Guests were left doing a lot of the work themselves.
One bright spot was the service team at the Maya Beach buffet. The servers there were attentive, present, and genuinely seemed to care about the guest experience. It was noticeable, and honestly a bit surprising, because that level of service wasn’t something we saw consistently in other parts of the resort.
Breakfast highlighted another operational challenge. Having one cook managing the entire morning buffet creates a predictable bottleneck. During busy periods the line grows quickly and the wait becomes frustrating. It feels like a very fixable problem that simply hasn’t been addressed.
A couple tips for first-time visitors. The resort layout is confusing and not particularly intuitive. Download a map ahead of time or you’ll likely spend the first day wandering around wondering where things actually are. Luggage assistance is technically available at check-in, but don’t be shocked if you end up hauling it yourself while trying to decode the property layout.
The beaches themselves are beautiful and well maintained, which is a credit to the grounds crew. Unfortunately, the overall experience is dragged down by inconsistent service and noticeable staffing gaps. When guests spend more time tracking down drinks, chairs, or help than relaxing, something clearly isn’t working.
This resort has the bones of a great experience. Right now it just feels like the operations haven’t caught up with the expectations.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Ok resort
The food was good, friendly staff. This resort requires more maintenance upkeep. There were not enough pool loungers and people were fighting over them because of this problem. There were no chairs or umbrellas around the pool areas, had to carry own chairs from our room to these areas. Not enough shaded areas around pools. Main check-in, not enough staff present to handle the arriving guests and the process took way too long.

Occidental at Xcaret Destination: Amazing place
We found the resort grounds beautiful, the jungle feel is wonderful, with lots of animals around to watch the Iguanas, monkeys coati deer were so fun to watch. The staff were amazing, always had waiters at the pools and beach. The food was good and always lots to choose from. The xcaret park attached is well worth the extra cost. All and all a great vacation.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Good resort
We arrived early but waited 2 1/2hrs to get our luggage, absolutely ridiculous. I know this has nothing to do with the resort itself.
The resort is close to the airport which is good. It sits back off the road a piece in the trees. It is a very nice resort for the most part very small in all. Our room was fine, quite damp. We had a lovely view of a pool (which we couldn't use) and we could see the ocean. Rooms are very spacious with a separate shower and toilet room. We always had lots of towe[... read more]ls and fridge was filled with water and beverages everyday. Beds were quite comfy.
The buffet was quite small for being a 5 star resort and only 1. The food was good but repetitive. The al a cartes were wonderful, we went to 5. The Rue de Ravoli was probably the best. Th Ki was very accommodating for our large group of 23.
The grounds are nice but we found they didn't clean the pool deck area. They put new hooks on the umbrellas and left the metal shards laying around, we had asked the concierge to have some one come to clean it but that never happened.
They had a garden party one night but neglected to let everyone know that the buffet would be closed and couldn't accommodate everyone, so left us scrambling to find a place to eat.
Bar service 2as good.
They have a lovely coffee bar with treats and ice cream, that was a favorite ? of our group.
There is no beach at this resort and really no way to walk anywhere.
They have a fun spot for kids with water slides and play area. The only issue is there is little to no shade there. 2 of the pools were not in working order so the main pool was very busy. There definitely is a shortage of loungers, if you weren't out to save a chair by 6am good luck. They have beach beds but you had to rent them, I believe they were $65-$75 a day. I feel if they got rid of those they could put a bunch more chairs in.
Check in and check out were fairly fast.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Experience at barcelo maya beach resort
The only thing I liked about this resort is the cleanliness of the room . The people who are working at the resort are friendly and helpful.
But it is a mixed of , adult and family with children little bit too crowded at the swimming pool and and at beach area. Also I am not much impressed about food. The alcohol drinks are the cheapest grade so I couldn’t drink at all.
