Bahia Principe Explore Turquesa: Couldn’t wait to get home.

The hotel is very beautiful. Having said that, there were a number of significant issues that put a major damper on our trip. We had 8 people travelling with three room. Two of us got sick with breathing issues, one had to be hospitalized for over half the trip. We believe this was either due to the very strong chemical smell from the pool and cleaning, or the musty smell from the room (we found mold in one of the rooms). I also got electrocuted from an exposed wire in my room. The mus [... read more]ic was way too loud anywhere near the main pools or dining area, and was pretty much constant. It was overwhelming and difficult to have conversations. There were other things that were beyond the control of the hotel so I won’t outline them here, but I was not impressed.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great resort

We loved the adults only side of the resort. The food has a variety and the rooms were super clean. Would highly recommend. I’m not sure the beach was the best but looked nice. I prefer the pool area anyway. The quiet pool was lovely and the main pool was a lot of fun. Nice resort, bartenders at quiet pool were amazing. Staff on the a la carte were great.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Friendly staff, beautiful grounds

I liked this hotel, the staff were friendly activities were decent. Cons would be that there really can be a huge language barrier since some staff either barely speaks English or don’t understand it at all. Despite that they were all great spirits and mostly smiled. Some will try to help before you ask for help. Booked the basic room and they upgraded us which was amazing. I had a really bad runny stomach and diarrhea on day 2 which lasted most of the evening onto the next day, but was good by  [... read more]night of day 3. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very good resort

The hotel in general was ok. The grounds were really good, the room was also in good shape but the walls were in need of a paint job, the staff were really professionals and very helpful, the entertainment during the day by the main pool was great as for the food buffet last January it was a lot better than this time (November 2025) as for A La Carte restaurants they were very good.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Great time

Resort was well kept. Rooms where large and very clean. Fridge was stocked everyday and cleaned. Rooms where quiet and comfy. Restaurants including buffet where excellent. Food had lots of flavor and never left a meal hungry. Portofino the Italian restaurant was great with a nice atmosphere great service and quality food. Big pool was clean and had nothing but fun and relaxing days . Drinks where well made and tasty. Lobby was clean bar service was excellent and nightly entertainment was fun. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Fantastic Hotel

We loved the hotel. The room and grounds were immaculate. Both the pool and beach exceeded our expectations. As well the service and food at all the ala cartes was outstanding. We preferred the buffet at the beach to the main buffet. The only downside to our experience was the bar service at the pool. In one week we were never approached or asked if we would like anything. While we do not mind getting our own drinks and we are good tippers this was very disappointing.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Solo Vaycay! ☀️

Wanted to start this off by saying this is my third time returning to this resort, first time solo! The grounds, room and the beach were beautiful the new renovations at the renovations at the Esmerelda were beautiful! Always felt safe as a female solo traveler. Food would rate an overall 5/10 - was no variety even at the al la cartes, half the dishes were missing items that were supposed to be included per the menu unfortunately so if that matters to you, this isn’t the resort for you. Some staff were friendly but most just left me alone since I was solo. Overall would say it was a good experience.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great hotel, just missing smiles.

This is my second trip to Bahia Principe. Last winter we stayed at the Esmeralda luxury and this October we stayed at the Ambar adults only. Service was great. Food was great. The grounds were beautiful and clean. The only hiccough I have to say about this Hotel was the staff half of them or even more than half or not very friendly or smiling. The few that were very smiling. I took the time to tell them in Spanish that they were doing a great job and smiling and being happy it goes a long way. [... read more] I’m sorry I can’t remember the names of the few that were smiling, but I do think they need to work on that point. The beach was nice.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing Resort

We stayed at Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica from October 8-15th traveling with Air Canada. We had a great experience overall. The resort is beautiful, well-maintained, and has a lot to offer, especially for families. There are two sides to the resort — the Luxury side, which is adults-only, and the Grand side, which is more family-friendly. We stayed on the Grand side with our kids and really enjoyed it. Every worker we interacted with was kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming — they really made our stay even more enjoyable. The food was a standout — by far the best meals we’ve had in any Island we went too. Everything was full of flavor (not spicy tho) and there are plenty of options with buffets and à la carte restaurants. Daily daytime and evening entertainment added a nice touch to our stay. The beach is on the smaller side and gets deep quickly, so we didn’t spend as much time there, but our kids absolutely loved the pool — that’s where they spent most of their time! There’s a small shopping village attached to the resort, which is perfect for grabbing souvenirs, toiletries, or snacks. We found some delicious beef patties there! Just a tip: the stores in the lobby are more expensive than the ones in the village, so it’s worth walking over. The rooms themselves could use some TLC, but we found out the resort will be closing for a full year starting this December for major renovations. It was recently purchased by Hyatt, and with that, many of the Spanish staff will be heading back to their home country

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Worst Jamacia experience!

I feel like this resort caters to Caucasian people in terms of food and hospitality. For me I’m expecting a true Jamaican experience and this was not it. The hotel is advised as a family friendly hotel and it’s the total opposite. We were a big family and had to make reservations to the restaurants at 9pm as that was all that was available. Imagine being in the sun with kids all day and then have to wait till 9 to get decent food, or less you’re going to the buffet and it’s yucky! The worst part of the trip was going to the bar and being treated like a dog by not so good looking older bar tenders who were miserable. I would never go to this hotel again.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Loved it

Food was wonderful and there were a decent amount of vegetarian options. Rooms and bathrooms were clean always, which was really nice. Downside was there wasn’t drink service at the beach or pool, so we just had to make extra steps when we wanted drinks. Also, there was a constant stream of people trying to sell you things on the beach. Overall, it was a wonderful trip

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Excellent price for service you get.

Food is good as is room service. Spa excellent but expensive. They would get more people if they would decrease the price by 30%. Trolley service to the beach is awful!! 2 will come 5 mins apart and then none for 20 mins. During the afternoon beach rush around 4:30 they put a small 8 person trolley and at 7pm they put a 16 person trolley, it should be the other way around. Night shows are pretty well the same ones for the last 3-4 years, time to change? Rock and crooner good and women mariachi band excellent, circus ok and the rest hit and miss. Lobster night is a joke. Only the upper part of the lobster which is emptied, seasoned and refilled into the shell, no lobster tail available. Good choice of deserts, chesses, fruits, cold cuts, sushi, and bread. Front desk staff very professional, ready to help you with your problems if any. Penthouse was nice and clean upon our arrival. When it rained hard water would come through the window and go underneath the bed and the shower would have a hard time to drain properly, so your feet would be in dirty water. Told the floor manger Mr. Vasquez about this and I have no doubt be the time You read this review it will be fixed.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Bahia Principa Grand Jamaica My Husband and eight others just vacation there for two weeks Our first couple of days were so so But by the third day things started to change in the right direction The Hitel is sliding in Dec gir about a year but when the renovation are complete the Bahia will be even better!!

Resort is shutting down in the new year for upgrade.great staff at bars and dinning areas not the nicest beaches ,pools are nice and large. Locals came in on weekends and created lineups and were rude by skipping lines.

Definitely not a 5 star. This was a long-awaited family vacation. Since I was traveling with my adult son, I specifically requested a room with two beds. Upon arrival, we were given a room facing a brick wall, with a single king bed. The room was in noticeable need of renovation, as were many others we saw at the resort. The door was covered in dirty fingerprints, suggesting it hadn’t been cleaned properly. Additionally, the room had no electricity because there was no key card in the slot — me [... read more]aning no lights or functioning air conditioning, even though it was 36°C outside. I immediately raised these concerns with the front desk. I was told there were no other rooms available, but I could move to the Ambar section for 50% off — an offer I declined. I reiterated that I had made a request for two beds well in advance. While I understand that special requests aren’t guaranteed, I didn’t feel I was asking for much. The front desk agent simply shrugged and said there was nothing he could do. I asked to speak with a manager, and was told the manager had left for the day. However, after explaining my situation further, someone — possibly the manager after all — was able to move us to a nicer pool-view room with two beds. While the rooms are spacious, the housekeeping left much to be desired. Since the water isn’t safe to drink, we had to keep requesting bottled water. There always seemed to be something missing: towels, face cloths, coffee creamers, coffee machine was never emptied and washed, etc. It’s understandable if something is forgotten once, but when you have to repeatedly ask throughout the week, it becomes frustrating. The resort itself is very large, and shuttles are necessary to get around. Unfortunately, they don’t come as often as advertised, and when they do, they’re often full. It takes patience to catch one you can actually board. The beach is beautiful but can be seaweedy at times. That said, the staff does an excellent job keeping it clean. However, the constant interruptions from beach vendors become tiring. While I respect that they are trying to earn a living, it gets irritating when asked repeatedly to purchase something after already declining. Particularly bothersome were the people with parrots who, without consent, place birds on you while trying to relax. That level of intrusion is simply unacceptable. Service at the Sports Bar is as nil. We asked to watch the Montreal Canadiens game and after 5 minutes it switched to the Toronto game. I guess their guests from Montreal are not worthy of watching their team. We asked them to switch it multiple times and it never was. The head bartender could not care less about servicing his guests. Spanish soaking guests received preferential treatment. The restaurants were average — nothing particularly memorable. The pool areas were clean, and the entertainment staff did a great job. In contrast, the staff at the beach towel hut seemed uninterested in helping and rarely smiled. It always seemed like we were interrupting his chit chat with another employee. Overall, most of the staff were kind, helpful, and pleasant — and their efforts were appreciated.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Absolutely love this resort!

This is my fourth or fifth time coming to this resort, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about it. From the rooms to the actual hotel itself, is amazing. All of the staff were super friendly and very helpful, Including staff in the background. such as groundskeepers and maids, Every morning they’d say good morning or hello, even if they were in the middle of something. The rooms and hotel area were always kept in immaculate condition, Never dirty always clean! Tables in the buffet were always clean and staff were very attentive. Both check-in and checkout were super easy, no fuss no muss and we were able to get settled in our room within half an hour of being at the resort. The pool area was always clean and well supervised, the entertainment Staff were amazing. This resort has so many things for you to do with your family or as a solo person. Whether it be around the pool or in the theater, if you have kids, they will never get bored. I have nothing but amazing things to say and I recommend this resort 100%.

There was some positives and not so postives. The grounds were well kept, our room (corner swim up) was spacious and clean. We enjoyed our afternoon swims. We are not foodies, but precooked our food ahead of time, with the dinner slots that fit our needs. We really enjoyed M.E.A.T and Limbo..the other ones were good, but those two were our favourites. Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Wonderful Week

Hotel was good. But massive! Alot of walking. If you want beach access...you wont have here. The Beach is opposite side of luxury...and can take trolly to. Buffet food was cold. Lots of options but not warm. Staff amazing!..Room was great. Safe did not work. And heard from others we met had same issue. All pools were open. It was a great week away, but I can say I will not return to this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Awesome Resort

The Lobby is so spacious and open, bar tenders at the lobby bar were fast and super friendly, everyone was always happy and smiling. The buffet is really big with so much variety of food, Radaisy and her crew were so awesome and helpful with our 2 birthday celebrations. This report was amazing, beautiful beach, friendly staff. They are kind and welcoming.staff did their best to make your needs be met.I celebrated my Mom 65th birthday and they staff made a a memorable time especially Radaisy she was so helpful.
