Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Good resort and the price was right.

Have stayed in this hotel about 8 times, the last time was in 2020 where we had a three week stay booked but, as per advisory had to go home after two due to covid. The hotel is in a lovely location, the hotel itself is quite old and is starting to show its wear it generally needs some TLC. There are six different buildings in this complex most with their own pools and sits right on the beach. Every person on staff was very efficient and personable. Italian, Mexican,Thai, Chinese and a restaurant that services mostly meat. They were all great. The rooms were a good size and were cleaned daily by the housekeeping staff. Lots to do in and around this hotel, the evening theatre shows were really well done. We will be going back again

First visit since Covid Have been to this resort over 20 times, Beautiful gardens, quaint cottages, wonderful staff Disappointed in food selection for the first time in all our visits-- but then got an update on the kitchen staff-- the executive chef had given notice and left late fall and no replacement hired when we were vacationing. Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Amazing beach

There is nothing good to to say about the manager this hotel. I have been here 4 times and this was the worst. Not enough staff, no red stripe, local rum, bacon, bananas, room towels, beach chairs... Didn't talk to anyone who was happy with this resort.

Grand Decameron Panama: Equivalent to low budget Cuba resort

We booked at Royal Decameron Playa Blanca 4-star location, for a 10-night stay, at $1850 per person double occupancy. I will admit that I was really looking forward to this trip…!!!! We arrived to the hotel (only 7 minutes from airport) in the area of 4:15pm. Check-in was quick and easy. They give you an actual “key” tied to a shoestring, and only have 1 per room available …. CLERK: For your first night, go to the buffet dinner at 6:30 with the Canada group. Your room is here (a [... read more]s he circles on the map) and the restaurant is here (circles again). Call extension 8000 and we will send a transport to take you. ME: Can we not walk?? CLERK: Today you walk, tomorrow you will call me. We quickly found out why …. The complete resort is on a 30-ish degree slope, with very few stairs; the rest of the walkways are incline paths, with 8-10-inch culverts on both sides (for the rain to run down), some with exposed electrical wires sticking out of them as well as extremely loose insert covers where the culverts intersect the paths. The room refrigerator is empty, with a sign on it indicating that they DO NOT fill refrigerators, that it is available for whatever we decide to purchase and bring back to our rooms. Considering that Panama is “between 7 and 10 degrees north of the equator”, one would think that they would supply AT LEAST water in an “all-inclusive”! Walking to dinner and pool was all downhill, but coming back to the room almost killed this girl ( but I did it!! TWICE!! ) Note that we arrived for dinner as soon as buffet opened as neither one of us had eaten all day, and ALL dishes were cold …. Not warm, but COLD!! 😳 … same for breakfast the next morning. For both meals, we had to chase down waiters for water/drinks, which we received when we were finished eating. The room has 2 double beds and is extremely dated and could use major renos … no big deal at first sight…. The patio door and window next to door do not lock.. however, they have it plastered litterally everywhere that they are not responsible for lost/stolen items. Common practice, however, we noticed hard emphasis on this point.. much more than anywhere we've ever been, and we've both been to a "few" places. When the putrid odor of urine in the washroom was mentioned to the employee who asked how everything was so far, we were answered that often animals will urinate on the outside of the building and it will make its way inside…. There was no urine smell outside however, and we were on the 2nd floor. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We kept saying we would make the best of it…. We then noticed that the shower leaked from everywhere except from the shower HEAD, the shower door did not close properly, therefore leaving LOTS of water on the floor, no matter how hard you tried to avoid it. Only the low setting on the blow dryer worked … electrical short?? The air conditioning after running all night, managed to bring the temperature down to 26 degrees in the room. After 20 hours, I had my son get online booking us in at the RIU Playa Blanca just up the street, paying out of pocket for the stay, in the amount of $2720 for 9 nights. We were at their check-in counter 22 hours after arriving in Panama. Once unpacked and installed at the RIU ( where I must add, everything exceeded expectations), I went online and looked at photos of the Royal Decameron that prompted me to book there in the first place …. In my son’s words, it only cost $2700 for me to know how Photoshop works 😢😢

Grand Decameron Panama: Excellent resort

Customer service was amazing. The cleaning of the resort never stopped. The place was so clean from the beaches to the pools to the grounds and everything in between. The food was amazing. I do not have one complaint about this beautiful piece of paradise

We truely enjoy this resort! It is one of our favorite places. We have been here several times. The resort is beautiful and thecfood is great. We have never had an issue with the service either. There is a bit of an issue with it being an upper and lower area but we just booked an oceanview this time so we were on the level mostly where there is all the amenities and the pools and beach. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Disappointing

It's been 3 1/2 years since we had been to the Royal Decameron. Unfortunately, maintenance has not kept up. The grounds and the pools are great, but the rooms are dilapidated. The staff as always was amazing. The food was poor. We will not be returning.

Decameron La Marina: Decameron Le Marina, Guyabetos

We had been in Decameron Los cocos several tines. But this is a newer fecility. It is comparatively smaller than the previous one but newer. The view was amazing. Very clean rooms. The staff were fantastic and very courtious. We loved it.

Grand Decameron Panama: Enjoyable resort

This was our first time in Panama and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel was great. We loved the buffet food variety at breakfast lunch and dinner. The grounds were very well kept. The staff were attentive and worked hard. We had just a couple issues which we brought to their attention and they dealt with it professionally and promptly. I cannot give this hotel a bad review at all. We were both very pleased and would return again.

Although the resort shows signs of aging, the food, staff and cleanliness are at a high standard. A great place for families to unite and bask in the sun! The nearby village makes for a great walk and provides a look into the Mexican culture.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Relaxing vacation

Stayed at Cornwall Beach section of Royal Decameron. Montego Bay section next door appeared older. Comfortable mid sized hotel on the beach. All units overlook pool and beach. Comfortable spacious rooms; well maintained. Reception staff very helpful. Cafe bar on second floor has best coffee and pleasant staff. Open buffet restaurant with satisfactory variety of food. Recommend being up at 6:30 to get a reservation. Beach chairs are all taken at first light or earlier but always found chairs poolside, which is next to beach anyway. Large pool which isn’t used much. Fun activities for adults. Bar and restaurant staff were a bit inattentive. Overall we had an enjoyable 7 day stay - sun and surf in January. Most staff and patrons were unmasked but all tables in buffet restaurant were sanitized after use and marked as such after cleaning. Hand sanitizing for buffet restaurant was strongly enforced. Buffet utensils were commonly used.

Decameron Baru Beach Resort and Spa: Pleasant Vacation at the Decameron Baru in Colombia

We had oceanfront rooms and it was worth the extra expense. The beach, spa and decor was top notch. The food was average for a four star hotel. For English tourists there is a language problem. We did not expect everyone to speak our language but the hotel could solve miscommunication problems by having wi fi working in the a la carte restaurants allowing guests to use a translation program while ordering. We were allowed breakfast in the Italian restaurant and instead of having an omelette, I h [... read more]ad to come in with a picture (taken in my room) of a fried egg because the day before I couldn't get that communicated to my waitress. Some dinners were also a problem without access to a translation program. Our air transat rep was amazing and we booked a tour of Cartegena with a guide that was great. Again if you are an English speaker, it was tough to share a tour and lower the cost. There were more French speakers sharing tours - we paid more for a private tour. We did have the most amazing lobster dinner ever (and we have had a lot of those ) in Cartegena courtesy of our guide bringing us to one of his favourites and leaving us there for an hour. The hotel is about an hour from the city and airport. We signed up for a tour of an amazing aviary (this tour was cheaper because there was no guide and we shared the cost with about seven French speakers) Entering Colombia is a pain because of an immigration form you have to fill out on a poorly designed website. I figured it out after a few problems - but some people were paying $80 or higher to have a company do it for you. One huge gothca for me was not realizing you had to go through the same thing when leaving the country and I only found out when stopped before going through security. My phone was not allowing me access to the website and it was an unexpected hassle.

If you are looking for a great resort with a wonderful Mexican feeling, with all the comforts and amenities , you will enjoy your stay here. Does not take long to get into the vibe and feel at home. The premises are very well maintained and immaculate. And yes, plenty of hot water and great water pressure . The food is very good and there is variety. The beach is spectacular and immaculate. Easy to get beach chairs everywhere and never saw a broken one. A good sign! Service very good and friendly. Can get by well in English. They take entertainment seriously from nightly open air performances to the nightly disco. ENJOY.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Extremely badly managed resort

Booked this hotel because of previous Pre- Covid good reviews and liked the idea of a smaller and more intimate feel all inclusive resort . The most recent reviews are not to be taken lightly as they definitely reflect the true picture of what is going on at this resort ! Although for most part the staff do their best in what looks like difficult circumstances , entertainment team are fabulous ! There is a constant issue with basic requirements ie towels in your room are taken but ne [... read more]ver replaced ,towels are limited and run out quickly in pool and beach area , buffet has limited food supplies and staff seem stretched beyond limits so it’s hard to keep up with refilling ,and cleaning tables and seating families so queues are so long in the evenings . Staff were actually physically fighting in the buffet area ! I had spoken to what I thought to be a manager on a daily basis about the frustrating issues of never having towels in your rooms and not alone with this one , always angry customers in reception area yelling about the same issues , but the problem was never resolved , so my feel is this resort is badly managed !

We had room on the top floor, the AC didn't work and the ceiling fan sounded like it was falling out of the roof. Our railing on the balcony was the only one in the hotel that was missing a support bar on the outside of rail. We asked at 9 am to change rooms and were told we had to check out at 11 am. We were the first on the list to get a room and it would be ready for noon. I said I did not want to waste the day waiting around and asked if we could have one sooner. The girl then said we woul [... read more]d have to wait and check in at 3 pm. We left our luggage in our sisters room and went to the strip to do some shopping. When we got back there were several people in line getting rooms assigned. I asked for mine and was told check in was 3 pm. (It was 2). The ported (great guy) asked if I was ok and I told him my problem. He went to speak to her and she yelled and smacked her hand "3 PM CHECK IN FOR HER". I told him she was just being difficult and didn't like me. He went and told her to give me a room .. she literally reached behind the desk and threw keys on the counter. The porter took us to our room!!! She was horrible.... The new room had black mold on the inside of the curtains but I didn't dare ask to be moved again so we stayed away from the curtains!!!!

no shortage of food variety with 6 or 7 restaurants. pools weren't busy and there are adult only pools. Chairs are a bit hard so I recommend bringing an inflatable. Rooms were quiet and the visitors and staff are equally friendly.

The resort has not changed much over the years except for cutbacks in staff and services. No boats, roped off swim area, no lifeguards the first few days, fewer waiters and food staff and fewer food choices. Grounds Maintenance has decreased and grass noted up to 12 inches tall in places, finally mowed the week before Christmas. Buffets had variety but not as much as in the past. Specialty restaurants hard to book as online times are filled within the first half hour most days.and not all are o [... read more]pen every day so hard to plan ahead. Shows are still good and you could see the week at a glance. Activities for the day are not posted until about 10 am on a whiteboard so hard to plan your day. Bar service was excellent, beach and ocean are great. Beach chair saving always a problem when people claim them at 6am and don’t show up until 1pm. Overall rating a solid 3, not 4 star as advertised.

Everything was great; service, location,etc. Lots of signage and protocols in place for Covid however guests were not practicing safe distancing and I arrived home testing positive for Covid. My stay was two weeks and I remained on the resort.

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Won’t go back!

This was our 4th and final visit to Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach. Had no air conditioning for 8 days. The phone in our room never worked (really missed it as we were a group of 14). The fire alarms went off every night a few times. They ran out of white wine AND red stripe beer, serving Dominican beer as a substitute. Food was good, but presented poorly.
