Hotel Villa Cuba: Ok resort
Grounds were nice. First room 533? Broken safe, phone didn’t work. Second room 514 was ok, maid did a good job but on her day off relief forgot toilet paper. There was no handle on the outside of the patio door, l reported it but never put on. The light outside the entrance was out and I reported it several times. In the 14 days we were there the light worked on three days only. The food was good, except on the few days that there was bacon it was very uncooked. Ice cream was never hard always [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: Wonderful Hotel wonderful staff
Old but very clean Staff exceptional , I've stayed at this very hotel before and was very pleased with the service would recommend this hotel to my friends andfamily. The beach was close and the weather perfect
Roc Barlovento: A NICE RESORT
It is well maintained and nicely laid out . All of the various staff members are very pleasant and courteous . The property is close to a bus service and an easy walk to a big flea market . The Buffet was nicely organized and well kept . The foods were plentiful but almost the same things day after day . The hot foods were not always hot and the cold not always cold . On 5 of the 7 days we were there the ice cream was not as hard as it should be . We found the bath tubs to be high and hard to ge [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: November vaca
The hotel itself is really run down but with that said our room was clean and over in the quiet part of the resort! We loved that we had our own pool! The food was ok, it’s cuba so don’t think your going to have 5 star quality food but you won’t go hungry. The staff was for the most part very nice with exception of the girl bartender in the lobby! Never smiled and it seemed like we were bothering her when we needed a drink! Other then that we had an awesome trip! Weather was amazing for al [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: Great friendly resort
Located in walking distance from public market, restaurants, cafés. Grounds and pools always clean, no children, great staff, beautiful beach with lots of sun chairs. Food is average for Cuba but good and fresh. Pool activities in afternoon and daily night show. Been at this resort 3 times and will go back next winter.
Hotel Villa Cuba: Absolutely stunning!
Since this was my first vacation, I had the most amazing experience! Live music every night and activities during the day was outstanding! Everyone was so courteous and friendly and very helpful and patient considering the fact I speak a little bit of Spanish. Best time of my life so far! Would love to go again
Starfish Cayo Largo: Close to the beach
This was our first time visiting the Pelicano Hotel it was ok, with one good size pool although the liner was ripped in many spots and is in need of replacing. We would have enjoyed having music playing throughout the hotel grounds as it was quiet for large portion of the day including around the pool. The dining facility was disappointing they scaled back to approx 25% capacity with limited food selection. Regardless of the time of year selection should still be there for paying customers. Club Kawama: Satisfactory
Had a good room. Many guests we spoke to said otherwise. I would however spend the extra 100 or so for a better place. The servers were not as eager to please as other resorts I’ve been to. The food was the same in buffet , day to day. Beach was fine, but service was so lousy at all bars, that we went and bought our own booze to have..... Maid was most pleasant person working there.
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Horrible
My family and I have been to Cuba quite a few times. This was without a doubt the worst resort we've ever stayed at. Service, Food, Amenities, Beach were horrible. Save your money, go somewhere else in Cuba.
Roc Barlovento: Excellent resort
Although this is an older hotel, the grounds are very large, well kept and well laid out. There are 2 pools, one is for quiet relaxation, the other has loud Caribbean music. The beach is well catered to with lots of available water sports and a bar just steps away. there is nightly entertainment at 9:30 and a 24 hour lobby bar, for those, must have, 4 AM drinks. The food is well laid out although somewhat bland, but that is typical of the island. The servers are very attentive. There are 2, [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: We'd Go Back
We liked it very much. It was better than expected. Room was nice, clean, had hot water and pressure every time. The grounds were beautiful and clean, staff working constantly to maintain the cleanliness. Staff were polite and friendly. Food at the buffet restaurant was ok (It's Cuba!), found plenty of things to eat. Two restaurants were nicely decorated and food was good. The beach is glorious but there was some garbage here and there i.e. beer bottles, cans, syringes, plastic, on the bea [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Sercotel Club Cayo Guillermo is a sweet easy Paradise
I am reminded of the, "village the of small huts", where from very comfortable and clean accommodations the views of El Mar are breath taking and the sand & sea go on forever, Siempre! The linens & towels were plentiful and refreshed daily with the added touch of "towel art" with hibiscus! ensconced on the bed different every day...so creative. There is a lot of walking getting from here to there so mobility should be good. It feels like wilderness there but good for small children with the shal [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Paradise Home Away from Home.
I have been a regular visitor to this hotel for the past 9 years. The staff have become part of my family.... I am always treated as a VIP guest. Upgraded to beach front rooms /bungalows /suites. All personal needs met beyond expectations... In my opinion, this resort and rooms provide the best guest services and staff of all the hotels I have visited in Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. Lolita and other staff have become good friends.. I consider Lolita my little sister. I have had t [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Nice and quiet
I like this resort it is a 3 star and the price is great the people are friendly and the food is good it is quiet but there is lots too do I have been there 8 times in 6 years so for me it’s like going home
Club Kawama: Okay just ok.
Older hotel that needs work in all areas. Nice staff, ok food not great. Lousy drinks except beer and wine alright. Worn mattress and room could use a deep clean. Many faults but ok at the right place. Location is good and quite walkable.
Roc Barlovento: Friendly
This is the best kept secret in Varadero The buffet is delicious ....... really good food , I’ve been there 4 times and never disappointed The beach is absolutely stunning and well maintained I wouldn’t stay anywhere else
Club Kawama: Amazing resort
I have been to kawama many times but it seems to be losing its luster. The main pool was out.of.order.my whole trip ...food.wasn't.it's finest...room was flooded for.2.days because not.enough help to.clear water. But I still.will.return to kawama as.they try their hardest
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Nice beach
The beach was beautiful . The food on the other hand was unedible. I basically didn’t eat for a week. The resort had limited drinks as well . They didn’t even have tequila ... I would ask for a pina colada and half the time they didn’t have it. The bungalow was really nice except our ceiling was leaking brown fluid. Was glad the beach was nice because it definitely made up for the poor service and bad food.
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Low class hotel
No snack bar after 6 PM. No light in the hallway or front yard. Very hard to find room in the dark.. Soap not supplied whole week in the room. Lots of bed bugs...........................................
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Resort review
Hotel and grounds were ok, beach was beautiful food can always be better. No night life outside the resort - no where to go. Half day trip to nearest city of Moron is not worth it. I hate the fact that everything that you do, everywhere you go, there is an expectation to give tips. Even for going to public toilet. Bring another $200 just for tips
