Melia Internacional: Best Resort in Varadero

My family and I had a great time at this resort. The grounds and facilities were well maintained and always clean. The staff were helpful and kind. The beach was breath taking!!! We will return again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: What a wonderful resort

We were open-minded but skeptical about going back to Cuba after 2 years of reading about shortages, power outages, etc, but read some good things about the PPDM. Not only were the great reviews accurate, but understated, as this vacation in April was one of the best we have had in any Caribbean resort in the past 15 years! The beach is the best of anywhere we have been to, and tops the DR, and Mexico with it's white sand, huge walkable miles of sand, and great ocean swimming or floating! The [... read more] food at the PPDM was outstanding, with beef, chicken, pork and seafood freshly grilled for lunch and dinner. The Royal side is quiet, which is perfect for us seniors, but offers a few daily activities like yoga. Travelling on Air Transat was perfect, and our Trip Central rep helped out before leaving with all the details needed. I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat, which says a lot as in the past 28 Caribbean vacations, we always try a different resort. Our room was a 5-star, the staff went out of their way to assist. What a wonderful place to spend your vacation!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Favorite in Cayo coco

Just got back from 7 days at this resort. This is a fantastic resort my family has been to 3 x now. There as so many positives about this resort. The workers are great, friendly, and go out of their way to do anything to make your day great. The entertainment team is the best in any resort I have ever been to. They always have something to do between , stretching , Zumba or dancing at the party pool and games as well as more dancing after the shows in the evening. We did 2 a la cartes and the service at oriental was so amazing. Rodrigo was so fantastic with his service and friendliness but the whole team was as well. Getting coffee or cappuccino in morning is always the highlight of my morning with friendly service from the girls. Both the beach bar and bar and party pool were so great with friendly faces always. Joel at beach bar and Yesi and team at pool bar are the best around. The pizza lunch is so great with very tasty pizza everyday. Arrive early as it does fill up and can run out quickly. Cons(but doesn't change my positive love for this resort) - buffet doesn't always have great service depending on who is serving and lobby bar can be busy and hit and miss with service as well. Entertainment does have many songs on repeat daily and it would be nice to have more options or requesting of other songs available. Beach is quite rocky in front of resort but you can walk to right 5-10 min and it is clear and sandy for swimming. The view is still beautiful with or without rocks. Bring your water shoes and you will be okay. Clear blue water. Bugs can be bad in Cayo coco. Bring big repellant with deet and maybe a polysporin after bite. Some people have more reactions so a benadryl is needed as well. If you take a day trip to Pilar beach you will not regret it, it is a beautiful beach and a great lunch for $35. Overall he absolutely love this resort and will be back again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful ❤️

Hotel was nice! Very clean , ac worked all A+ Food was good! No complaints. The animations were awesome. Gerrie, Victor, jemelli, Ricky and our Dj Salvatore. Definitely heading back next year. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Enjoyed our stay very much!

The Paradisus Princesa Del Mar is a wonderful resort, perhaps among the best (in my opinion) in Cuba. The beach is stunning. The grounds are well maintained and lovely. The pools are great with ample seating on the deck. And, we were very pleased with the food at this resort. The main buffet has lots of choice with fresh fish and meat available to be cooked in front of you. There are also four restaurants to book during your stay (included in the price). But be sure to reserve a space since they [... read more] are serious about only those listed to be seated! We personally enjoyed the French restaurant and thought the beef brisket was fantastic. (We wern't that impressed with the Italian restaurant). Service is great but remember to bring cash for tips, either American or Canadian works. (Google suggusts American dollars are not well received, but that is not the case at all). We enjoyed the $5 hop on/hop off bus into Varadero. While there, we enjoyed a $20 horse and buggy ride for an hour (great price!), with the driver stopping for us along the way wherever we wanted to shop or take pictures. All told, this is a great resort choice in Cuba.

Everything was what i was hoping,entertainment food grounds and people,the beaches were at top of list of most beautiful,i felt very safe and welcomed ,will be back next year,food was very plentifull,the drive fro. Airport to hotel was short and fun

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Wonderful Vacation

First off, we received a free upgrade to a suite on the Royal side which was a pleasant surprise after a long day of travel. The resort looks large, but it was only a 7 minute walk from our room near the beach to the front desk. The grounds were beautiful; the gardeners were out every morning cleaning and caring for the plants and grass. Food was good; the Royal buffet was our favourite for breakfast and lunch. The beach was nice, seats were plentiful although it’s a bit of a walk to the washroom on the Royal side from the beach. You do however pass 2 bars on the way so it was an eventful trip when you had to go. The staff was helpful and always pleasant especially the gardeners who always said good morning and offered my wife a freshly cut flower.

Voici notre honnête avis sur le Paradisus Varadero. Nous connaissons bien Cuba — il s’agit de notre troisième voyage en deux ans — et malheureusement, cet hôtel nous a plutôt déçus. Les points positifs : La plage est tout simplement magnifique. C’est le vrai point fort de notre séjour. Il y avait amplement de chaises longues et de palapas, donc aucune nécessité de se lever tôt pour réserver sa place. Un vrai plus! Mais pour le reste… - Pas d’eau chaude pour se doucher pendant plusieurs j [... read more]ours. - Aucune bouteille d’eau dans la chambre, même après plusieurs demandes. Le frigo est resté vide. - Nos amis ont reçu deux bières à leur arrivée, mais après le ménage, il n’en restait qu’une. - Au snack bar, l’unique option disponible pendant longtemps était un sandwich jambon-fromage… car le grill manquait de gaz pour la cuisson de d’autre chose. - Le buffet principal était fermé jusqu’au 4 avril. L’unique buffet accessible pour tout le resort était très petit et avec très peu de choix. Côté chambre : Nous n’avions pas d’air climatisé, et on nous a dit qu’aucune chambre n’en avait, ce qui est difficile à croire vu le faible taux d’occupation. Heureusement, grâce à l’aide remarquable d’Idelys, nous avons été relogés dans la section « Réserve » où les chambres étaient climatisées, avec eau chaude et bien mieux équipées. L’ouverture du grand buffet à la mi-séjour a permis un peu plus de variété alimentaire (nous avons vu du poulet et du bœuf pour la première fois!). Cela dit, la nourriture reste très limitée et souvent froide, même en tenant compte des défis d’approvisionnement à Cuba. Départ : Notre vol étant en soirée, nous avions demandé une chambre de courtoisie pour nous rafraîchir. Malheureusement, il n’y avait aucune eau qui coulait – ni pour la douche, ni au robinet – même après une heure d’attente. Nous avons dû partir à l’aéroport sans pouvoir nous laver. Conclusion : Malgré la beauté naturelle du site, cet hôtel ne correspond pas du tout aux standards d’un 5 étoiles. Certaines équipes sur place font de leur mieux (merci encore à Idelys!), mais le manque de services de base nuit énormément à l’expérience. Nous ne reviendrons malheureusement pas.

Sol Cayo Coco: Absolutely no negative remarks about this resort. Three visits and going again.

Staff without a doubt the best anywhere. They treat you like family. Have made lasting friendships with staff and wish I could see them more often. Will be returning next year if all goes well! Thank you all at the SOL.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: A hidden gem

I recently came back from one week vocation in Holguín Cuba at Paradisus Rio di Oro. By far this was the best resort in Cuba not only for the beautiful surroundings and the beach but especially for the excellent service and the amazing people who made every single moment memorable. Thank you for making this trip unique and unforgettable. I can’t thank you enough and looking forward to come back soon.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful resort

My sixth time staying at this resort and it still is beautiful. Check in was easy and our room was just right for what we needed. Food was ok and the a la carte restaurants were just right and offered a better choice than the buffet. All in all you won't starve but you can't expect what you get at home as there is limited supply of food choices. Beach has seen better days as it was wiped out a bit by the last hurricane I was told in October. You can still swim in the water but be prepar [... read more]ed for coral and have water shoes. If you want a bit to the left there is a more clearer path to get into the water. Overall it is still beautiful and the turquoise water is amazing to look at. Drinks were also a hit and miss at one bar they had some drinks while others they ran out. Coffee was the best at the new outdoor coffee bar by the hotel entrance. Workers at the resort were always smiling and friiendly. Lady at the coffee bar Lobby was an amazing barista, Albertadino accomodated us for the Thursday night party at Hemingway Plaza, Johhny in entertainment was a blast and the list goes on for staff that went out of the way for guests. My only negative is that the sand flies or noseeums ate me alive and I was bombarded by bug bites on my legs and arms.

This resort is beautiful and they keep the grounds, pools, etc spotless. The beach is incredible and always lots of palapas and chairs. The pools are gorgeous too, with many loungers. The staff is attentive and friendly. They appreciate anything you do for them as well.

Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing resort

Very clean resort from the rooms , public restrooms, grounds,lots of food choices. Italian restaurant was awesome. Entertainment staff amazing along with saxophone playing by the pool. Beautiful clean beach, beach restaurant always entertaining. We had a 5 out of 5 experience again as it was our 3rd time and coming back next year.

Melia Internacional: DONT PAY FOR LEVEL

I paid for the level thinking I was going to be in adults only. This did not happen. I was in the family level instead. I am not the only person that felt the advertising was misleading for this. Being on the Level means you have access to a 24/7 concierge. This means you can order room service and have it delivered to you free of charge. My phone did not work all week so I never did receive room service. I also did not have one drop of hot water the entire week. Every single day I went and repo [... read more]rted it to. “Jonathan”. And every single day Jonathan said he would get it fixed. This never happened. No one came to my room to fix anything, this is extremely frustrating as I was there by myself, my patio doors never locked. The first night I got there was at 10:00 PM. Nobody explained where the food courts were, where I could eat, nothing. So I did not eat until the next day when I found it on my own. My patio door did not lock. The first night I got there I went through four different rooms to try and find a phone that worked and a patio door that locked. Finally after 11:30 at night I said just put me in a room and I will take care of this tomorrow. No one ever contacted me to follow up. I figured out on my own where the eating restaurants were, but I still don’t understand why.” the level.” is so special. I paid for room service and I paid for hot water and I paid for my safety. None of these things were met the whole week. I was there no matter how many times I complained about it. In fact, I was given dirty looks as they saw me coming up the hall. I don’t think it’s too much to ask, if they cared, to follow up, as I was extremely concerned and upset at the condition of my room. Also, you’re supposed to have a person serving drinks at the beach, I was at the beach almost every day, and not one person ever offered me a drink. That also is included in. “ the level.” I will never stay at this resort again. I don’t know why Jonathan is paid to work there as he is doing a terrible job. There is an infinity pool that you are allowed to go for one hour, once per week. They explained this was absolutely a stunning experience offered with “ the level”. I went to this amazing experience and took 30 seconds to look in this infinity pool and all I saw was murky water and sand and filth. You could not even look out the glass barrier as it was so dirty. I know this sounds like I am coming down hard on this hotel, but all I want it was what I was promised. I don’t think, asking for a locked patio door, a working telephone, and I would even settle for warm water instead of hot; but I did not even receive that. My two daughters were supposed to go on a sisters trip to the same hotel on 17 April, but I told them to cancel and go somewhere else. I haven’t even heard back from the hotel as I put in a complaint. FALSE. ADVERTISING.!!!! Don’t waste your money. they have not heard the last from me.

Was very happy with everything about the vacation from the on-time flights to the gorgeous resort and the amazing, friendly staff. Mother nature helped out by giving us a week of great weather. Would definitely go back.

Melia Las Americas: Great resort

We've been to Cuba probably 100 times in the last twenty five years and stayed at several different hotels. The bottom line is "you get what you pay for". This is probably a four star hotel and it has now become our favorite in Cuba. Feels like home.
