Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: So so Resort

This hotel needs a major update. The location is great. Close to some amazing restaurants. The pool and chairs need to be cleaner and updated. Please update your entertainment programs.The sound system is incredibly loud and play the same music over and over😩

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Very good family resort

We loved this resort for snorkeling right on the beach. There was not a lot of night life and partying so we really liked that as we have a 4 and 6 year old. We also rented a car and drove the island one day which was fairly easy with maps.me to navigate us. The excursions were quite pricey with a family of 4 so that is why we rented the car. We highly recommend the aquarium in Willemstad it was so cool. The food was okay but very repetitive and we were very disappointed that there was no seafood in the buffet. When you come to an island you expect some seafood in the buffet. You can purchase a lobster dinner for 2 for $160 which I believe is the reason they don't put it in the buffet so that people will purchase it.. Overall a good resort and would recommend it but we would try a different resort if we went back to Curacao.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Amazing Resort

Stayed from Dec. 30-January 6-20, went to celebrate New Years with the family, we were a group of 24 adults with 2 children under 12. The Hotel is clean is immaculately clean, from the lobby, bathrooms and grounds, the rooms have been updated they are spacious and clean. The mattress are comfortable as well. The check-in went smoothly so did the check-out. The food is okay at the buffet I think their breakfast buffet was the one I was not that keen on. Juan de Jesus & Jairo from the entertainment team are just amazing they made our stay a very enjoyable one. A big shout out to the girls in the café coco truly friendly ladies. We did 2 excursions they were fun and well organized. The massage offered in the beach are well worth the money. I really can't say anything bad of this resort. This was our second time in Dominican but our first time at this resort. Would definitely consider going back.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Beautiful Beach

If you are looking for a small & quiet resort with a beautiful beach - Sunscape Curaçao is for you! Pros: Beach, crystal clear water, relaxing, quiet, and friendly staff/service. Cons: Not enough beach loungers for the number of guests, & some issues with the hot water/toilet in our room. Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: First time in the sun!

Staff were AMAZING. The grounds were NICE. The rooms were OK. Only OK because the dresser is very old and we had to ask for it to be fixed cause one of the drawers wouldn't open. Geared to families with children. There were fun activities but a heads up there is NO adult swim bar. Most excursions are close BUT cab fare is not reasonable. Sunscape Puerto Plata: Well worth the money!

Overall, this resort was great. Highlights were the beach (beautiful sand, beautiful blue water, no seaweed, and very safe the kids - 8 and 12 - to play on the sand and in the water), the staff, the layout (we loved that it's a small resort and that everything is so easily accessible), the cleanliness, and the grounds (beautiful and so well maintained). The Asian restaurant was amazing, make sure to ask for the chicken wings at the restaurant above the pool (to die for), don't miss out on the wood-fired pizza on the rooftop (couldn't get enough of it), and the beach grill had great and yummy lunch options. Also, a stop at Coco's Cafe is a MUST...the best caramel coffee and pastries! It's an older resort, so some of the buildings need to have things replaced but I think they're working on that. Ground floor level rooms are ideal - we had a third floor room the first night (but knew upon check in that we were changing rooms the next day). It was clean, spacious and nicely renovated, but with the vaulted ceilings...we were awoken during the night with chirping and scratching sounds in the roof. Didn't get any sleep that night. Our next room was ground level, clean, quiet, pool side, near the beach and nicely renovated - couldn't have asked for better! It's worth the upgrade to the Sunclub - you can have a more privated breakfast at the Sunclub area, premium booze, wait service at the beach and at the pool - it was great. We had such an amazing time at this resort, had plenty of food options for us to all eat really, really well (kids as well as adults), LOVED the beach, has a blast at the pool...Overall, I would recommend this resort - for the price point compared to other resorts, it was well worth it.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Some challenges

Beautiful hotel. Aged, but charming. The water treatment was really quite smelly but that is life, can't be helped. Our rooms were late to move into, that was disappointing but then again, it happens. Very disappointed to not get the rooms that we requested which were the partition walls in each room. We travelled as a family of twelve, so were thrilled that the kids with children got large rooms with the tubs on the balcony. This however didn't make up for the fact that the grandparents couldn' [... read more]t babysit the kids in their room because there were no partitions. The children got kids tv channels, we requested to have our tv fixed but it didn't happen. First room we had the air conditioner was extremely loud, I couldn't sleep. We were able to move the next day but still not the room we requested. They said at the desk that we requested a room with two double beds, no way is that true. Our travel agent said that we would get the same rooms, with the partitioned doors, so why the miscommunication? upsetting, but this did not ruin our vacation. Food was good. We had a lovely family time together.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great trip!

My husband and I were traveling with two 7 month old twin girls as well as two other couples. This resort was very quaint compared to others we have stayed at, and we enjoyed every minute. The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we were having a lovely time. The rooms could use some updating however they were very clean. The beach has a break wall which made swimming with the babies safe and easy. Snorkeling was amazing too. There really was no night life on the reso [... read more]rt with the exception of the casino however, you could easily find nightlife outside of the resort as the island was easy to Navigate. One area that left much to be desired was the lack of chairs on the beach. For such a small resort, they really should have more chairs available. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and would go back again!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: quiet retreat

beach and swimming area great, facilities were a bit dated. staff was friendly, food was good, but not 5 star. safe was able to travel around island by rental car, took city bus into downtown. if you are looking for action, this is not the place. want to kick back for a week, you may just love it

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Has gone down hill!

It was my 9th time on the island of Curacao. I normally visit curaçao or Aruba every winter. It was my 3rd time at sunscape property and I must say it was very disappointing and will probably never return. Where do I start... 1.The Room was large and clean however the shower wouldn’t drain and most importantly we had NO hot water till the last day. Washing long hair in freezing cold water was a nightmare!! 2. The alcohol was super low budget!! Brands I had never seen or heard of!! Best place all week was the Japanese restaurant. Honestly, I’m normally not to picky but if I had to compare this vacation I would compare this to Cuba standards!!! If I wanted cuba standards, I would have paid Cuba prices and received Cuba quality. 4. Some staff were super helpful and kind but most, treated you as if they were doing you a favour. 5.entertainment was good and the staff worked very hard 6. I had a daily alarm set for 6am to ensure we had a beach hut and shade. Although, that was annoying the Beach was nice, no complaints Doesn’t this all sound like a relaxing vacation?! Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Great family friendly resort

This resort was very lovely! The staff was amazing and very friendly! The beach was well maintained, and I loved that there was a safe swimming area available. The pool was great and we absolutely loved the swim up bar. We had one night with some very noisy neighbours and the staff was very understanding and supportive of our issues as we had a baby with us. Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Sunscape PV review

The hotel is very close to the airport; transfers were included. Courteous, accommodating and professional staff - from the airport transfer to housekeeping. As always some items are overlooked but quickly rectified, such as coffee refills, missing towels or stocking the mini fridge with water. Entertainment staff are extremely energetic and engaging. Lots of activities at this resort and the location is convenient. No bracelets issued so always being asked for my room number. Only one poo [... read more]l and it's a bit cold but it wasn't crowded. If you want a lounge chair with shade get there early! The beach is okay but this resort is on "hotel alley" which means many interruptions from vendors. The hotel itself is dated - the bathroom lighting was very poor but the beds were comfortable. Toilet worked very well. WiFi is not included outside the lobby area and is expensive to purchase. The food was good and as expected; you can eat anywhere as long as it's open (no reservations or limitations) however all restaurants are not open every day and when one is closed for dinner, you better line up early at the others. Lots of good restaurants in the area outside the resort within easy walking distance if preferred. I appreciated the daily activity sheet which outlined the restaurants that were open with times, entertainment schedule, temperature, etc. including a daily drink special! For our purposes (we were 3 adults in a room) double beds were a challenge (queen size would have been nice) but we weren't willing to upgrade for the cost. Other detractors include the dark bathroom (makes it hard to get ready; had to use a flashlight), broken toilet seat (which was replaced proactively on day 5) and musty smell (ocean view room). I was a bit disappointed at the price point compared to other resorts we've stayed at however we've always been a 45 minute bus ride from the airport so assuming location is the reason for the higher cost? It was nice to try one right in PV where a quick cab ride let us experience the Malecon. We felt very safe here, inside and outside the resort. Everyone was friendly and welcoming - an overall good experience. Would I recommend to a friend? That depends. It's a smaller resort with still lots to offer and great service but it is dated and about 20% more than previous vacations. I have no other experience within city limits to compare it to so not comfortable referring at this time.

The Sens Riviera: Great Resort

Grounds well maintained. Rooms were nice, staff super helpful and friendly. Food was nice. Should have kept lobby bar open after 11pm. Could use more entertainment. Beach was nice and clean for swimming with young children.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: soso

was not a 4 star For what we paid it was not that great. Beds were OK Wait for just so-so food was too long. Wait was hours if you ordered off a menu but the food was much better. Drinks were good. Beach was only Ok because of the nearby river.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Would not go back

Have to say we were not overly impressed with the resort. The food was average unless you ordered off a menu in which case you needed to put aside hours. If you had the patience the food was very good. The staff - some were OK some did not care. The pool was nice but the beach was only OK because of the river. Would stay further north next time. My cousin was moving out of an upgraded room (and had not moved out yet) so they could be closer to their kids so we asked to be moved to their room (we were moving regardless) and they said no was impossible as they had already assigned the room to someone else. Not impressed with the front desk staff at all!

The Sens Riviera: Great Beaches

Great beaches super close to the resort. Lots of cabanas available. Pools were cold but the ocean was warm. Just to the left of the beach is tied pools with tons of beautiful fossilized coral. Buffet and restaurants were good. Wait times vary depending on time you go. Buffet was okay but was a bit repetitive after 4 or 5 days. Resort is 1.5 hours from the airport. Rooms were nice but no privacy between bathroom and bedroom- separate by a non locking clear glass door. Staff worked long shifts an [... read more]d weren't overly friendly but service was okay. They do need to have more high chairs and cribs available.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Wasn’t amazing but wasn’t terrible

The grounds were very well kept. Our rooms were cleaned beautifully everyday. Unfortunately our room shower leaked all over the bathroom floor leading into the room and soaked our luggage’s. 3 other people in our group had the same problem. Staff all looked overly miserable. Food was okay, we ate more burgers and fries then we did the buffet food. We noticed there was more locals at the resort then when I’ve travelled other places. Also the resort does not give out wrist band [... read more]s, literally anyone can walk into the resort from the beach. The night light was pretty boring. Although I know this is not the resorts issue, the beach is CROWDED with sellers. Every few minutes someone would walk up to us asking to sell something, it got quite annoying. I’ve never experienced this much annoyance on vacation before.

The Sens Riviera: Great family vacation

We recently returned from a one week vacation at Sunscape Akumal Beach Resort. While the resort was advertised as new when we booked, it is actually an older resort that was taken over by Sunscape. The food was good, although the buffet did get a bit monotonous by the end of the week, but that is generally the case with most all inclusives. We quite enjoyed the pizzeria and the Italian restaurant. We had booked an oceanfront room and were disappointed that there was no balcony and alth [... read more]ough the view is spectacular, the windows don't open, so no fresh air and nowhere to hang your clothes to dry. I would say that oceanfront is kind of a waste of money, unless you got a ground floor room which had a terrace that you could walk right out to the beach. What made the trip for us was the staff. Everyone was very pleasant, but as special shout out to Noeli at the Coco Cafe who made excellent specialty drinks and was extremely sweet to everyone. As well, Gerardo C. at the buffet also made the trip special by making an effort to learn our names and remember our drinks and also pay extra attention to our 9 and 11 year old kids. He always had a friendly smile when we came in. All in all, a great family vacation. We would definitely return.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Wonderful Resort

The resort is so nice and wonderful....the room is spacious, clean....restaurants and bars offer a good variety of food and beverages The beach and pools are kept in a very good condition. The staff is nice and friendly. The team of Sunwing and tripcentral were so helpful......

Sunscape Cove: Okay resort

Fairly nice resort, but could use some tlc in the rooms. The bathroom doesn't have much of a vanity, and no hooks to hang anything. The beds are pretty firm, and the pillows are not bad. We enjoyed the food in the two restaurants at the cove, and the Italian at the splash. We didn't care for the Asian, and found the buffet at the splash to be average for a 3 star. The staff were all wonderful, good at their jobs and very friendly. The beach had a lot of small rocks, which you had to step o [... read more]n to get in the water, and once you're in the water, there is very little area that is sand. A lot of the area is grass, which can have sea urchins. If you have water shoes you might want to bring them. You can also snorkel, although it's not the best. We snorkeled around the rocks, where fish like to hang out. The kids we saw loved the pool with the pirate ship and waterslides.
