Excellence Riviera Cancun: EXCELLENT RESORT!

My boyfriend and I just got back from our trip at Excellence Riviera Maya. This resort is truly amazing! All the staff at Excellence Riviera Maya are super friendly, kind and courteous. Our first night we were upgraded to the two-story rooftop terrace suite free of charge for the night as our junior swim-up room was not ready. The rooms and grounds are very well kept. Every morning the staff were cleaning the pools and seaweed from the beach. Our rooms were cleaned twice a day and our mini f [... read more]ridge was stocked daily. The food was AMAZING!! We loved the French restaurant, the Italian Restaurant, and The Grill. The room service food was also very good. The only restaurant we did not enjoy as much was the Mexican restaurant as we felt it was too 'authentic' for our tastebuds. The drinks are also delicious... definitely not chintzy with the alcohol! Since the resort was adult-only it was very laid-back, quiet and relaxing. We never had to worry about finding chairs at the beach. The pool chairs seemed to fill up a bit quicker but we could always find a spot somewhere along the lazy river if need be. We loved every second of our trip and we will definitely return!!

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Beautiful Resort!!!

Great vacation over New Years!! Excellent food and service!!! A big thank you to the ladies at the buffet that seated us and knew us by name and all the servers in the restaurant that took excellent care of us and my daughters who were vegans and catered to their likes!! I'd go back for sure and am looking forward to it!!

Excellence El Carmen: Pleasantly surprised

We weren't sure what to expect with this one - mixed reviews and a new place - but we were pleasantly surprised. Great service, good food and an all around relaxing time. Also loved the modern gym for mornings after a lot of well worth it indulgences. :)

Excellence El Carmen: Go here! So Goood!

There is not one thing to not like about this place. I am telling the truth. Perfect 10! I have been to 12 other all-inclusives. This is a REAL 5 star! Swim out room was perfect for me and my lady. Romantic. Many food options; restaurants; the buffet has it all. I will go back here, for sure.

Excellence El Carmen: Excellence El Carmen is Excellente'

Everything at this hotel is new and is well worth the stay! Staff are amazing and more than willing to please! Grounds, beaches, pools, hot tubs, restaurants are all top notch! French Cuisine was my favorite, the food and Staff were out of this world .

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Excellence Riviera Cancun is a Beautiful Resort

This hotel offers the best service we have ever experienced and we travel allot. We stayed in a swim up beachfront room in the Excellence Club and it was wonderful. The food in every restaurant is very good including the buffet for breakfast and lunch. There is a huge variety to choose from and no reservations are necessary. We did not have any problems getting into any restaurant during our 7 night stay. We especially liked the Indian restaurant "Basmati" The food was amazing. The staff in the Excellence club were so accommodating and friendly they made our vacation. We will be going back to this resort and may try the new one in Punta Cana later this year. Excellence Riviera Cancun: Great Resort

This was a great resort! - The layout is very well done. Everything is close by, but it doesn't feel like one big building - Great restaurant variety. Excellence Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

We visited the Excellence a long time ago , 17 years ago ,when it was associated with Secrets . We loved it then and we were not disappointed years later. The Excellence brand is a favourite . The club service makes the vacation special.

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Perfect place to go !!!

Everything, everywhere, everyone were perfect!!! All staff were trying to do the best what they could do for you. All rooms, floors and restaurants are amazingly clean and a perfect conditions. I really recommend this resort for everyone who want to get away. Thank you very much for wonderful service during our staying.

Excellence El Carmen: Staff were amazing

As a visually impaired guest, Staff went out of their way to make this a great experience. Room was impeccable, service was amazing and food/drinks were scrumptious - although the odd time I found a hair in my food from the main buffet (it's a good thing I'm not picky! Haha.) Overall I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing all inclusive vacation.

Excellence El Carmen definitely exceeded my expectations!Loved every minute of it. The room was beautiful, with our own hot tub, great balcony as you could sit out on it even if it rained which thankfully we did not get too much of. Excellence El Carmen: Excellenté!

Our 7 days at El Carmen were truly luxuriously relaxing. The pool view suite was comfortable, large and the balcony allowed us to sit out there during some rain and just enjoy it without getting wet. The staff were all extremely friendly amd as helpful as they could be while we both tried to close the language barrier gap. The only issue we experienced was with room service that was horrible one day/night (2 hour wait for a wrong order and then another 2 times of day old luke warm coffee being [... read more] delivered) but as the resort staff grows, and they get more famimilar with English tourists.. it's an issue that should resolve. The grounds are well maintained, the pools clean and the bars are stocked. The food was quite good, including the Buffet. Only "Oregano" was a big disappointment. We couldnt finish our dinner because it was not good. Overall... our experience was "Excellenté!"

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Fantastic Resort

We opted for The Excellence Club, worth every penny. Wonderful room with view of the pool, beach and sea. Never saw a staff member who wasn't smiling and helpful. Food was very good and it was nice that reservations weren't needed. Bars were plentiful and well stocked. The grounds were spotless and in spite of an 85% occupancy, we never felt crowded. They also provide food at a small buffet in the lounge. It was very good and tasty. Nightly entertainment was quite good and there are plenty of activities to keep you occupied if that is your choice. Pools and beach were very clean and we had no problem getting space at the beach. It wasn't necessary to get up and reserve a place at 7:00 AM. A wonderful week at The Excellence.

Excellence El Carmen: Relaxing

The resort was clean, and the staff were very welcoming. Unfortunately I got quite ill mid-trip, but thankfully we were able to return to the hotel after our "adventure" to the hospital. We definitely enjoyed the relaxation thereafter.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Amazing Resort - Amazing Staff

This resort has found the best people to work here. Always smiling, making you feel special. We were spoiled with attention! Have never been to a resort where I would remember staffs name. Edgar & Carlos at the Excellence pool were friendly and amazing. Sandra, Daniel & Thomas in the Excellence lounge made you feel like part of the family. Best vacation ever. This is a many return resort...can't wait!

Excellence El Carmen: Totally amazing resort

I am absolutely in love with Excellence El Carmen. I loved the room and the food and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. I would recommend this resort to any one I know and would visit at any time. I have nothing but 5 star rating for the service and staff there.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: There's Filet Mignon and Hamburger

Third time at this resort and it only gets better or should I say Excellent! Only one word to explain this place "WOW". If you want to fall in love, stay in love don't miss out on this one. Excellence El Carmen: Just WOW!!

Johanna, Spaghetti, Kassandra, Jissel, JC, 50-Cent, Yahaira, Santos, Pigel (security), Elizabeth, Gil & Chaquira (our Peach Martini gurus at the martini bar) , Ana, Willie, Wanderer, Vanessa, Dioney, Pedro, Johnson, Jose Miguel (room fridge head), Jesus, Miguel at the front desk, Building 10 Concierge Female & Male, bar staff & restaurant staff EVERYWHERE, friendly grounds crew………..deep breath so I can remember all the people who made this trip so fantastic but I'm having a hard time remem [... read more]bering all their names. SO many FANTASTIC PEOPLE HERE. We started off at a 5-star for our first encounter with a resort vacation, and apparently we'll never be able to go down again - ever. Other than a few minor encounters with push/pull doors (be very aware of this to save your knuckles), and a huge broken piece of concrete, this resort is top notch and beautiful. We were second floor in building 10. To-Dos: Bingo at 3:30 & crazy games in the pool at 4 (all well liquored up of course!), you can be as busy or as lazy as you want. Spanish lessons at 10 were a must the first day! Mamajuana is the Dominican Buckleys mixture a few shots will cure everything you have. The beach area was safe and clean at all hours of the day. Towel areas all over the place, clean bathrooms all over the resort. Eating: So many restaurants to chose from. Oregano's for lunch - the lasagna was to DIE for! but our encounter at Agave one dinner was less than expected but it was a plated meal, so hit and miss. The Grill was great, Chez Isabelle was small but tasty, so we ate wings, cheese sticks and chicken "fingers" at The Sports bar a couple hours later. Breakfast at the Kitchen Table was friendly and what you'd expect. The White Dinner was fantastic with live sax & dancers. The Lobster House we only did for breakfast once as I have a seafood allergy and didn't want to risk it. Drinking: all the bars were well staffed & the Martini bar makes an addictive Peach Martini. Bewares: the tiles in the bathrooms are REALLY slippery when wet. As are the concrete steps to the top of The Lobster House. Push/pull doors going "the wrong way" everywhere. The black marble staircase in the main building has rails, use them if in heels. Avoid the "hour long shopping excursion" to a cigar factory/rum factory/chocolate factory, we did it and they brought us to a one long room store where "they saw us coming" with no negotiation. Must do: the lasagna at Oregano for lunch or the wood fired pizza there. If anyone offers you a Mamajuana shot - go for it. The drink never mentioned but popular is a Sammy Sosa.

Excellence El Carmen: Great resort

We had an amazing time at Excellence El Carmen. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The staff was amazing, friendly and helpful, especially the entertainment team (Johana, Spaghetti, Cassandra, Alexis, JC and many more that I am missing). The rooms and grounds were well maintained and clean. The beach is perfect. It is a new resort, and some areas still need a bit of work and organization. Excellence El Carmen: Excellence El Carmen is truly Excellent!

We just got back from a week at Excellence El Carmen and it was absolutely fantastic! I can not say enough great things about it! The resort is stunning and well maintained. The rooms are extravagant and spotless. Food was first class enjoyed some exceptional meals with terrific flavors. I can not stress enough how amazing and welcoming all staff on the resort were. I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone and would love to make a return trip!
