3 star resort

Hotel was clean, buffet wasn't very good, long lines for reservations for the al a carts. The grounds are well kept, rooms are nice and clean. Location is really handy to shopping, banking and restaurants. Would only go when the price is low.

Colourful Resort

The Royal Decameron Complex was very warm and inviting with temps soaring to the 30's (Celsius) in early November. We enjoyed our stay. We found the service top notch, rooms and building bathrooms kept very clean. We were in room 1101 - don't book this room, It is directly beside the busiest/nosiest activities area. After one night we requested a room change, and the front office staff were able to get us moved over to complex 5, which was much more quiet. The food at the specialty restaurants i [... read more]s amazing, but the line up (sometimes as early as 5:30 am) was a challenge to be able to book into the restaurants for the evenings. It looks like this hotel is a favourite of many visiting locals, which meant more of the buffet food was catering to Mexican cuisine. Not bad if you like the food, but a bit of a challenge if you have trouble with spicy/ethnic food. The many pools were lovely, but as the week progressed, a couple became more and more dirty. Access to the beach is easy, and the bars are great with awesome service. Everyone worked hard to make our stay enjoyable.

Royal Decameron complex PV

It was an amazing trip, from booking to when we landed back in Toronto after the 7 days it was perfect! The best thing about this resort is the amount of people who go back year after year each stay longer! I will be returning next year for 10 days!! Thank you to the staff and the people at this resort for making it one of the best vacations my husband and i have ever been on! Thank you, Brysen and Seneca Goodsman

Had a Great Time as Usual

We have visited this resort over 15 times. Still great value. Management has been listening to requests. Most notably, drink glasses are much larger. Talked to management, and soon wifi will be available throughout the resort instead of just designated areas. The buffets have a bit too much Mexican cuisine, yet understandable as there are many Mexican guests at the resort. Booking a-la-cart restaurants is still an issue. Amazing experience

The staff did an amazing job to keep the grounds neat and tidy, they went out of their way to please the people. The rooms get cleaned everyday and clean towels put in the bathroom. The beach🏖🏄‍♂️🏊‍♂️ was fantasic. The food is fabulous🍍🍌🍆🍦🥂🍹

Good 3 Star Resort

We went down as a group and chose this resort because of the location and price. Very easy to walk around town and great beach. The rooms are clean, don’t expect anything fancy. The food is ok but with many top notch restaurants and bars in town we chose to eat out most nights. Great staff is the highlight of this resort. I would only suggest you choose this resort if you can get a package with flights under 1000 Canadian dollars.

Perfect for a solo Vacation or with Others

My first impression is that this hotel is crazy colorful. It’s a massive resort with I believe 5 different areas. I came here for a relaxing solo vacation and that’s exactly what I got. I happened to have a room right by the adult only pool which was amazing. It’s not even a 10 minute walk to the beach. They have a variety of restaurants that you can make a reservation at but you have to wake up very early and I just couldn’t be bothered. So I only ate at the buffet, nothing too impressi [... read more]ve there. But I also have a very restricted diet so chances are it’s just the stuff I could eat that was bland, so who knows. All of the staff were very nice, some remembered me at the buffet which was nice. I got stung by a wasp and right away they brought me ice and was worried whether I was allergic or not even when I said I was fine. Over all it was a lovely experience, I’ll definitely come back.

Hugely Disapointed

ive been a loyal customer of the royal decameron complex for 23 yrs going twice a yr and everything was always fantastic , until this last trip oct 7th to oct 21st 2017 ,,,,,,,,ive always reffered my freinds and family there ,,,,, but this yr , things have changed horribly ,,,,,,,they always had a great variety of canadian and mexicain foods on the buffets but this yr ,,,, there was not ,,, everything in the buffets looked the same it was all mush over cooked and way over spiced , and it was c [... read more]lear they were reheating foods and reserving them the following day ,,, and very clear was alot of cross contamination of foods as 90% of the people we spoke to durring our 2 weeks were all very ill from the food ,,,, including all 5 of us ,,,,,,and the food service has also gone down the toilet along with everything we ate ,,, i sat at a table in the buffet for nearly 25 mins waiting for cutlury and water before getting my food to the point i got up and went to the service counter and got my own and poured my own water ,,,, bar tenders were fantastic house keeping was fantastic and maintainence was also great , but if the food is not good ,, no one has a good time ,,, extremely disapointing ,, and after 23 yrs ill now be looking for a new resort to go to in puerto vallarta

Not bad

Grounds were nice and clean but we didn't quite like the layout of the hotel. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The restaurants were pretty good for all inclusive - buffets...could be better. The rooms were clean and they left a free bottle of water every day in the room. Safes cost extra money if you needed it. There were no mini fridges in the rooms :( they did have adults only swimming pools for those that wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the families with kids.

Great Family Resort

Great facilities, very friendly staff and good food. Relaxing atmosphere allows for a great holiday. Tripcentral ensured all our travel was done in ease, and everything went very smoothly. You can't go wrong with this group or this resort.

Amazing resort

Amazing resort! Very clean! Staff were excellent! Activities were numerous! Food was always good! Best observation: no stress/everything is easygoing as a vacation should be! Beaches were stellar! Shows were Mexican style - good to live the culture! Pools were plentiful/clean! Plenty of bars! A la carte restaurants were high quality! Beautiful Colourful Resort that needs major improvements

None of the rooms to my knowledge have access to WiFi, WiFi is only accessible from the reception areas and the lounge which makes it quite inconvenient if all you want to do is check emails rather than be able to do so from the comfort of my air conditioned room, i have to go all the way to an area with WiFi. The rooms are fine, spacious good beds but the water pressure in my shower would come and go and while i notified staff and was told it would be looked into nothing happened. When booking  [... read more]for this trip we were lead to believe that the resort was based in Puerto Vallarta while in fact it is in the state of Nayarit by it self while this has its merits, it was quite expensive to go back and forth to Puerto Vallarta by taxi perhaps be clear as to its location.

Great cost effective Vacation!

The hotel was very well kept, and the employees worked tirelessly to keep it so. The rooms were clean and bug free, the A/C worked great, and showers had plenty of hot water. The only bad thing is you have to pay to use the safe which was odd that it wasn't included. The food was very good, we did not get sick at all. Only downside is that sometimes there was a lack of variety between buffets, and it was very frustrating to have to get up at 0730 to make reservations for a la carte meals. Pools were very nice they did sometimes have plants and other debris in the pools, however we did have multiple thunder storms when we stayed. The adult pool was mostly very quiet and relaxing save for the odd group of roudy 18/19 year olds. The events on site were enough to keep us busy with activities when we wanted to be, and the nightly shows were lots of fun even though they were mostly in Spanish. We never used the onsite spa as it was 550 pesos for a massage, and you could get one along the beach for 200. Lots of amenities close by outside the resort: an OXXO and Chedraui just up the hill had everything you could ever want. Also the flea market in Bucerias is only a 25min walk along the beach, and a lot of fun if your looking for souvenirs. Overall this trip was great value and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Not what we were expecting

We booked a ocean front room The advertising said a king size bed or 2 double beds. We were not even asked what kind of room we wanted. The room we were given had a queen bed in it . We went down to ask for two double beds and was given a room with 2 beds. The air conditioning was not that strong . The shower even though just had cold water on still came out warm. Resort was clean and the staff worked hard. Nice resort

Overall the resort was great ! The rooms were well laid out and the cleaning staff were fantastic. The food on the other hand was a bit to be desired,poor quality .you might want to think of eating off the resort . The staff were great and helpful but had a low English vocabulary. The pools were clean and lots of seating .only one adult pool a distance from the beach the other pools were full of screaming children .no swim up bars .

I wouldn't stay again!

Rooms are not sound proof so you hear all noises of the night life. Air conditioning is poor. Pools close at 7 or 8. Unless you want to get up at 7 AM to make restaurant reservations your only option is buffet food. Found dead cockroaches outside our door 3 times. Staff are very friendly and helpful in buffets, bars, during check in and out as well as the conceirge services. Beach is clean and easily accessible. There are no elevators in most blocks so be prepared for the possibility of w [... read more]alking 3 flights of stairs in the heat. Night shows were great. Can book excursions onsite however staff were not always there when they were supposed to be open (over hour and a half late one day). Cost of one week all inclusive was reasonable.

Such a wonderful place

Honestly perfect place to go to relax. Food was delicious and staff was friendly would stay here again. They had 6 different pools to choose from and the shows were really entertaining. You could go bike riding or play tennis or just relax on the beach with a drink.

Look Elsehwere! Trust me.

Average hotel at best. Far from a 4 star rating. Food was underwhelming; both bad in terms of selection and quality. Rooms were very uncomfortable, dated, and the washrooms in particular were very ghetto. No safe unless you pay $3 USD per day. No fridge/bar in the room. Lots of mold and bugs in the rooms. Pools were dirty. Locals conquered the resort. Security is questionable since anybody can enter the resort without question. Shows and entertainment were putrid. Beach is filled with [... read more] little rocks and its very uncomfortable unlike the rest of the beach at the other resorts. Overall, this is a very bad resort unless you get an insane deal and budget is your issue. I strongly recommend to look elsewhere. I spoke to many tourists on the resort and everyone felt the exact same way.

Would not go back

I was at the royal decameron 2 years ago and had an amazing time this time was horrible.. the ceiling leaked from the upstairs toilet.. the complained several times asked for another room nothing was done.. the toilet back up.. nothing was done .. asked for water and towel took over 1 hour to get .. service sucked.. not impressed for price I paid

Good Time

Beautiful grounds. We requested a main floor room near the adults only pool and in general the staff did a really good job in keeping kids out. Part of our entertainment for the day was sitting on our little patio watching kids jumping into the pool as soon as the lifeguard's back was turned. Weather in June is around 32 and muggy, great for swimming in the ocean.Room was clean.A\C worked well.
