Good Resort

The room was very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful! I didn't have high expectations for Cuba but this resort definitely did prove me wrong. Would definitely visit again with family as it's very safe and clean!

Decent resort

The property is nice but dated, perfect size, not too big or small. Rooms are spacious but mattresses & pillows need replacing. Same food every day. No theme nights at buffet except "Cuban night" which was the exact same menu. Beach is gorgeous though!! Pool is good but we witnessed too many middle age skinny dippers at night and no maintenance during the day, so needless to say, we did not use it...

Very nice resort

This is our third time to the Breezes Varadero but our first time to Cuba in May. We love the size of the resort, not a lot of walking to the beach, bars and buffet. The service is excellent and we liked the fact that the resort is located close to town. The temperature with extreme high humidity at this time of year took some getting used to. Also the mosquitoes were bad after dark.

Breezes

I have heard bad things about Cuba-bad weather, bad food, dirty resorts but not Breezes. Very clean, friendly staff (Orestes was great), quite good food and plentiful, HUGE room (707), great pool and of course the famous white sandy beach! Coffee was best at the bar. Rum plentiful and bar staff very fast. Would go again!

Awesome trip

Beach was amazing, always loungers and palapas to be had. Can walk to varadero beach front which is nice too! I had no difficulty finding food. Usually when I go away I have a hard time eating but I was able to eat at every meal and have something so delicious. My boyfriend and I are in our mid 20's, we were definitely a minority there in terms of age But that alone had its perks. We were in c block and the room is bigger than our apartment at home. Great vacation

We had been to this resort in 98 and loved it then. We loved it all over again. Not too big, clean, friendly staff and good food and drinks. The beach is fabulous will go back. The only thing that would have made it better would have been better water pressure in the shower.

Beautiful Resort

This older resort with gorgeous mature vegetation had a comfortable feel the minute we arrived. The staff is friendly and helpful. I am not celiac but have to eat a gluten free diet. I had no problem finding food at the buffet and the restaurants had choices without gluten. I am not a pool person. I thoroughly enjoyed the amazing beach everyday for two weeks. Nice resort with a fantastic beach!

An overall nice place to stay. Could use some updates in the Junior Suites as they were older and carried a musty smell, more so than the other accommodations. A/C didn't work the best. The in room safe was not secure and would open with a simple jiggle of the handle but friends said theirs was secure in the other accommodation area. Stating they had a snack bar open 24 hours when in fact it was only open for a few hours in the mid afternoon and the towel shack was stated as being open at 7 but yet was not open until 9 and times varied. Really not sure exactly when it was open or closed! Drinks were free poured and different at each bar. Don't expect slushy drinks. Their machine didn't work and the blender was not used for each drink. not much of a drink menu but if you know anything about mixing up great drinks, they may have it there. I personally don't know what to order without some kind of menu. I did love the beach. It was great for swimming and lounging under a palapas. Very few pedalers. The one pool was all just 4' deep and during my stay, was overtaken by young drunk wild messy characters. I am sure it can be a great area without the hoodlums. Piano bar had a fantastic pianist and saxophone player. Entertainment was nice. Great value for the stay overall. Cuba has wonderful excursions and people.

Still as good as it was,maybe better.

The resort and people are very nice. Good selection and variety of food. Good value. Very little to no wait times at bar. Buffet is a nice open air concept with roof. Specialty dinners are better then before.

First trip

My experience was mixed. Although the beach and resort itself was beautiful the room left little to be desired. It was moldy and smelled like dirty feet. Also the food at the resort was not the best. I had heard before hand that Cuban food was a lot different from ours. I just did not expect it to be that different.

Excellent Overall Experience

We stayed at Breezes, Varadero, from April 5-12, 2015. We had a gorgeous oceanview suite with spectacular views. We loved the beautiful and very swimmable beach. The food was great with lots of variety. The staff were so polite and all round amazing. Loved how close Varadero was to resort. We felt very safe throughout our stay. The nighttime entertainment was the best we've seen. All in all a very great experience and although we don't tend to repeat vacation destinations, this one might break o [... read more]ur rule. We understand why the resort is full of repeats.

Amazing staff at Breezes Varadero!

21st visit back here! Had a wonderful 2 week stay! The staff here are so happy, gracious and kind! They go out of their way to make a person feel at home!! It's gets better everytime! Awesome.....

My husband and I love Super Breezes! The staff are amazing and so friendly. The food and entertainment were great. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the entertainers John Mcdermott, who told us of all the resorts he has stayed at Breezes Veradero was the best for it's surrondings, cleanliness, friendly staff a very secure place.Love the oceanview suite, but to the west of us......pounding music that never seemed to stop. Great small and friendly resort!

The resort itself has some cosmetic issues but overall I found it to be a great resort. It is small and not very busy which I really enjoyed! It was never a problem to find somewhere to lay in the sun or shade.

Just Okay

This was our first experience in Cuba. And based on what I had heard it pretty much met my expectations. As most say about Cuba the food is not great. We did not find any food that we really enjoyed. Eating was mostly out of necessity. The air conditioner on our room did not work very well and we found it difficult to sleep. It was also very humid and as a result very musty smelling. However friends of ours had rooms in the newer section and their ac was much better and the room less damp. We we [... read more]re also less then impressed with the cleaning service on our room. I don't think they swept the floor once. The service in the rest of the resort was about the same. Most of the bartenders and waitstaff seemed annoyed/standoffish/rude. Sometimes ignoring you all together while they carry on conversations amongst themselves. The waitstaff in the A La Carts however were for the most part pleasant. The beach was incredible! The nicest we've seen (been to Jamaica, DR, and Mexico). The grounds were also alway nicely kept. Over all it was nice to get away and see some sun and sand after the long winter here in NB. However the food and poor service were a deal breaker. Will not be returning.

Nice resort

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Breezes , Varadero on April 11-18th,2015. The hotel was clean and staff accomodating. The food was simple , but delicious and they tried to vary the meats each night The last night there was .even barbecued lobster . The weather was beautiful each day and the beach was well kept . The water was clear , blue and warm. We have been to Cuba many times and this was the best week ever , since the wind was calmer than any other time we have been there, probabl [... read more]y due to the 35C plus temperatures, which even the Cuban people found hot. The only downfall was the airport. It took 2 hours waiting in line to get checked in and we had previously paid and booked for our seats, then another half hour to pay for the airport tax and then another hour to get through customs and security. The good thing is that we did not have long to wait for our flight. The bad thing was that we could not hear the announced boarding and they were in final boarding when we realized the plane was boarding. The Air Transat Plane was also very tight in seating . We will book Club Class next time.

Very nice ,quiet, friendly staff, clean

Grounds are very nice, lots of trees.Food was good.Room was clean and very big.Quiet at night.Good air condition in room.Beach is excellent and has lots of shaded huts.Staff very friendly and fun.Night entertainment was good.

"Good value for money"

When booking the trip with a tripcentral agent, the direct quote from the agent was - "good value for money". I didn't really know what to think of that at the time, but looking back on the trip I would say it sums it up very well. The resort staff were great, the beach was amazing, but the hotel itself was dated and could use some upgrades. Our tour operator on site at the resort made us feel better after our first night there (we showed up in the middle of the night where the darkness made the [... read more] resort seem even more dated) by saying that you shouldn't compare your stay in Cuba to anything else you have ever done. All in all, it was a great trip. Food was good, drinks were good, beach was amazing. Many people at the resort had been going for years and years and kept going back (one lady it was her 24th year!). I don't think I will be one of those people but it was still a great vacation, especially for the price we paid.

Amazing Beach

In our opinion the beach and ocean are fantastic. The resort is showing its age. Lots of families with small children. Our bed was the worst bed we have ever tried to sleep on. Not 1 good nights sleep. Buffet food is fine.

Will Return

We were two 50 something women interested in golf and a trip to Havana. This being our second trip (first time stayed at the Bella Costa) we were familiar with the Breezes Varadero but had not been inside. The only reason I can not give it a five star is because I believe that is reserved for over the top. Our welcome on Saturday night was warm and efficient. The room we requested was available, quiet second floor with a welcome bottle of rum. It was large cool and clean. This resort is well cared for. Yes it is over 25 years old and some doors are warped, had a wasp one night, but for a Caribbean location it was not at all musty. The food, wow. We have stayed in many all inclusives. Had absolutely no complaints about the food. Yes on occasion a bird might try to make off with some food, but hey they were here first. The variety was enough so that you could eat a different meal at each seating. Yes some things I did not like, but that is the same at home. The wine was tasty and plentiful. Some nights it was Chilean, others it was Spanish. The beer was always cold and the Scotch strong. If you preferred a mixed drink, I would suggest the lobby Bar. A special coffee, there was a bar for that too. We played in the pool, always clean, many chairs and the ocean, great except for the ignorance of some guests. This is a mostly no-smoking resort so the odd butt in the sand was revolting. There is so much more to say. I loved the staff. I just wish I could remember and name them all. Yes we tipped and left some gifts. They were all much appreciated. Will we return. we are already planning next years trip. Oh and about the golf and Havana, we managed to find some time for that.
