Great Vacation!

My son and I had very nice stay at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum, wanted to be close to beach. Our room was a little dated but kept very clean and fridge stocked daily. The grounds were beautiful and enjoyed the beach most days, did have to get chairs before 10 am thou. The staff were very friendly. We ate all of our meals at buffet, as my son is very big eater, we were never disappointed, but we're not expecting any more. The shows we attended were ok, have seen much better. Our travel arrangements went off perfectly, no issues with Air Canada Vacations. Would consider returning

Excellent

Overall a very good resort. Something for everyone. Very clean.friendly staff.Entertainment in the evening was something to look forward to. Spa service was excellent. Try and use hotel tours. Was better and cheaper.

Not As good as bahia Punta cana !

The beach was not really good, too many rocks.. Overall, service was lacking,,and we tip very well,,,,but it didn't seemto matter. Our room was not cleaned well at all. Food was somewhat disappointing. I wouldn't go back .

Really good, large

We enjoyed our stay had some issues with showers, but liked the beach and pool areas , food was good , the mixed drinks could be better more consistence with the ratio of booze to mix . I think I refer a smaller resort but this was fun and staff friendly

Amazing stay but terrible beds

Staff were great, food was amazing, loved the drinks. But... The beds were terrible. Like sleeping on just the box spring. Rooms were clean and mini bar was stocked daily. Beaches were nice and clean and the resort was not over crowded. Found the vip sales people a bit pushy but that's just the way it is for that stuff.

A great hotel overall

overall had an amazing time at the Tulum , we have been to the grand Bahia principe four times , previously at the coba , so decided to try the Tulum, everything was great, hotel, food and service (staff) outstandaing. We wi9ll def be back

Great resort

the grand bahia tulum is a nice clean resort we had a great view of the water from our balcony.food was good,went for long walks on the beach which we loved.have been to two other resorts near by and liked the Barcelo better.

Sevice Staff go out of their way for you!

The Bahia is a 90 minute drive from the Cancun airport. The demographic of the guests at the Tulum was about 90% from the UK - and almost all of the staff spoke some English. The hotel complex is made up of 3 hotels, the Tulum (we stayed here), the Coba and the Akumel. Tulum is the oldest of the 3 complexes and is starting to need refreshing which has been started. The property is very well maintained and extremely clean. The rooms are in need of updating - they smell a bit musty due to the high [... read more] humidity and ours flooded during a heavy rain. The hotel did everything they could to put things right as soon as we reported it. The villas have started being renovated when we were there. The food in the buffet had a lot of variety and there was something for every taste. The dining room was very hot though as it is not air-conditioned and the fans are sometimes not enough. The restaurants were nice enough and the food was good - not gourmet - but extremely adequate. No one in our party suffered any stomach problems. The water was fine to drink and bottled water was provided in all the rooms. The bars served primarily domestic liquor, a very good local beer, and a very standard house wine - but you could buy premium wines from their wine list. The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome - very friendly and very efficient. The beaches the week we were there were very rough in front of Tulum. The beaches in front of the Coba had man made break walls that broke the surf and you could swim in the sea - these were about a 10 minute walk down the beach for us. The pools were always full and the water was warm - almost too warm! The animation staff at the Hacienda Pool were not very motivated and almost aloof - not very friendly at all and not in keeping with the rest of the hotel staff - very strange. They could have done more. I would like to recognize some of the hard working staff that we had the pleasure to have met whose service was exceptional. These folks exemplify the face of the Bahia brand that the hotel is trying to have its staff achieve. They are genuine in their efforts in what can be a thankless job. Iberato - bartender at the Hacienda Pool - very busy location and he did a wonderful job of serving quickly and accurately- very efficient, pleasant and extremely professional and tactful. Alberto, Jose, Delfina - wait staff at the Tequila Restaurant - always made you feel welcome and were extremely diligent about filling your cups, remembering your order and keeping the dining room spotless Alfredo in the buffet dining room - extremely busy place and he never stopped always keeping his tables served, clean and cleared. Always made you feel welcome and appreciated. Eduardo at the Hacienda front desk - Professional, helpful, accurate and a wonderful ambassador for the Bahia brand. Dealt with any issue in a courteous manner ensuring things were with explained to your satisfaction or rectified. Glenys - Manager Customer service - went out of her way to help us when the room flooded. I am sure she had many issues to deal with on that day - but she made us feel valued and heard. Efrain - our housekeeper - amazing young man who made our room spotless daily. Cleaned up after the little flood and went out of his way to put precautions in place until the source of the leak could be found. Extremely hard working and pleasant. I would return to the property.

Great vacation

We bought an all-inclusive package, and I was a little skeptical at first. But generally we had a great experience. Rooms are standard, if you put 2-5pesos on the bed, the cleaners are happier and you can tell from the way they arrange the room. Food was plenty, but don't wake up too late as the buffet closes before 11 I think. There's still small cafes for coffee and croissants. Didn't get a chance to try any excursions as we had a 2 year old with us, but I bet they are fun. Very relaxing, good [... read more] customer service, and worth it!

Great Value and experience

Great beaches, friendly service, clean property and good food. The drinks were mostly just premixed slushy style which was a bit of a let down compared to a genuine pina colada with fresh pineapple blended together but for an all inclusive it was decent. The entertainment was only ok at night and they could use a beach service but we were very happy with our stay overall.

Fabulous resort!!!

We have been to this resort for three years in a row and plan on going back this year again :) The resort and staff are awesome and you can walk forever on the beach. We have always gone here mid-March and have enjoyed mainly hot weather!

Amazing Home Away from Home

Fantastic resort, great value, friendly staff, good food and drinks. All around great resort. My wife and I going back again in October for our 9'th visit. Have been going there on average every 8 months for number of years now. have tried a couple of other resorts but keep coming back here. They always make us feel like we are at home and we and to us this is our cottage. It is a larger resort composed of 3 larger resorts basically rolled into one. There is a good shuttle system to get you arou [... read more]nd, though a little walking would not hurt given the extra food consumed. The buffets are very good as are the a la cartes. Would highly recommend.

Amazing Resort!!!

The resort is wonderful!! We've been there twice and plan on going back. The grounds are beautiful and impeccably clean as are the beach and pools. The food will please everyone especially the a la carte restaurants. Don Pablo and Mikado are our favourites.

Great Resort!

Big resort with plenty of space to wander and take in the sights. If you don't feel like walking...there are trolleys every few minutes, never a long wait. Lots of different restaurants with friendly service. Buffet was huge, stations for Mexican, Italian, Sushi, Vegetarian...you name it...something for everyone! Inexpensive excursions will add to your vacation. Try swimming with the sea turtles, visiting cenotes and the Tulum ruins. We would definitely return!

A great time

We really enjoyed our vacation at Tulum Grounds are immaculate, food excellent with lots of variety, room slightly dated but spread out buildings are a benefit. Wish there was a better beach but overall a very nice place.

Lots of choice at this resort!

My two sisters and I traveled here for some quality catch up time. Loved the variety of restaurants, cleanliness of the room and enjoyed our private pool area upgrade. Surprised to have to deal with a key for the safe and that only two room keys were provided for three paying guests!
