Great resort

Everyone and thing was great other than the sand fleas. Get rid of them and i would definately return. The employees of the resort were very friendly and helpful. I have never met such nice people. There service was excellent and the constant smiles made the trip. I wich i could have taken them all home. The food was great even though we were told it was not that good. The menu was great. The shows they had were great and the team of dancers was amazing. Working all day and entertaining at night [... read more]. My hats off to them. I would definately let my friends and family know what a great time we had.

Simple but nice

Very enjoyable place to stay, grounds are well kept, workers are very friendly and the rooms are simple but nice. Some construction was taking place while we were there but it was by no means a large inconvenience

Not as good as other resorts we've been to

We liked the grounds of the hotel. Small resort, with all the amenities close by. The beach was being worked on, as they are sand dumping from the ocean to enlarge the beach area. That made the water murky, with a bad smell and lots of seaweeds. This will definitely get better over time. The food was bad. Hardly any selection and very few meat options.

Had a good time

Food was good not amaxing choices but quality was good and presentation at Mexican a la carte decent. Rooms nice but could have used more water pressure and faster to get warm. Older resort so grown up w trees more than picture and very nice beach and beautiful shallow water. Snack bar deep fried and salad and fruit. Nice staff. Decent options for drinks. Not overly impressed

The food was ok not great but you didnt starve. Not much variety Had to keep close eye on bartenders as they would put alcohol in minors drinks and I am referring to 7 and 8 yr olds. The drinks were not consistent. Every bartender had their own version. Entertainment staff not very friendly unless you were 20 years old in a bikini Not overly impressed

First time at Daiquiri

We've been to Cuba about 30 times now, we found this resort to be a very good buy for your travel dollar. We opted for the Superior room (#3149) which is located in the Camaquay Villa section which is located close to the buffet and the beach. It was very modern and kept very clean by the cleaning staff. The beds aren't great but It came with a free room safe, flat screen tv and we always had hot water. There is a snack shack close to the beach but we didn't use that as we usually prefer a buffet. I went in and it appeared to be a mini version of the buffet. The food was excellent with fish, beef and pork cooked to your specifications on open grills. Lots of great veggies and tons of fruit. Bring your appetite as the desserts are wonderful but the table wines we found were harsh. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very good. Don't forget to try the fried yucca with butter. We went during the rainy season in September and expectantly we had some rain which passed by quickly allowing us to enjoy each day at the beach...no idea about the pools as we didn't go there. Our only complaint was the mosquitos, they were relentless little buggers even though the resort fogged twice a day. It may have something to do with the rainy season but more likely to the swampy areas of the entire area. Take some repellant with you and enjoy this place.

Wonderful resort

Very big resort with a gorgeous beach. Lots of friendly staff and and amazing service! I love this resort especially because there are a lot of activities available so you will never be bored. Definitely considered this a 5 star hotel if the food was better. Only con was the food but the a la carte was not so bad. Recommend this hotel forsure!

It was a nice relaxing time away.

This was my daughter's first all-inclusive experience and she enjoyed it. The hotel is clean and the beach is beautiful. The wait staff is friendly and help to make you time away even more enjoyable. Our room was clean and adequate. A good time away for those hoping to enjoy the sand and sun.

Iberostar Daiquiri

The hotel is by no means a 4 star even at Cuban standards. The quote "updated rooms" are by no means 4 star but they suffice. the beach and grounds themselves excellent and worthy of 4 star rating for sure. We are not pool people but we did venture in a few times and ever though the pool is small it was not crowded even during the foam party which was a lot of fun. There was an issue the first 3 days we were there with beach towels. It finally took a visit to the ola sun rep Juan and a trip t [... read more]o customer service to get our first beach towels, After that there were towels every day no problem. They explained that all laundry is done off site on the mainland and that there was an issue with the company doing the laundry. The general hygiene of the the buffet is poor however. we were welcomed with dirty table clothes that continued to be there for the week without being changed. As per the beach towel issue above the laundry is done off site, however this is not an excuse. The chairs are due for a replacement but the tables as actually OK. They would be much better of removing the cloths completely. They use the black mesh things on the table put your plate on however these harbour germs and bacteria and the waiters and waitresses don't seem to be provided with any cleaning products to wipe them down after each use. This is just general hygiene that needs to be addressed and is letting the hotel slip in standards. Most of the reviews I have read said that the food was good. I don't know if my standards are different but it was not good. It was better than 12 years ago but the smell of burnt food was the first thing that hit you as you walked into the buffet area. Most times the pasta was edible and the burgers were hit or miss but stay away from the beef. There were 2 toasters and i learned after the 2nd day to place bread in the 2nd one 4 times alternating sides each pass and it toasts. The 2nd did not even warm bread and neither had working controls. there was burnt pork chop, burnt beef and chicken all cooking on the same grill so I was very concerned over cross contamination. There was a separate fish grill which always had cat fish. the salad bar was made up of cucumber, sometimes tomato and purple cabbage.We did not see any form of lettuce for the week. We ate at the Mexican which was a bit of a joke but cleaner than the buffet at the front of the house anyway. The Italian was no better as we ended up at the buffet after eating there and we were told by other guests not to go the the Cuban. At the pool snack bar during the day they did cook some very good food. The burgers were not burnt and they cooked "chicken parts" which were pieces of chicken cut up into small wing type bites which were coated and deep fried. They were excellent. Enough with the bad. We went for beach and relaxing and did not expect top notch food and that's exactly what we got.The shows and the entertainment team are top notch and although the venue for shows is small and the AC does not seem to work well they put on some pretty fun entertainment.

A bit disapointed

We stayed at Iberostar Daiquiri from July 22 to July 29 (4 adults and 2 children). When we arrived we were impressed with the place. We tough we made a good choice given the fact that we spent a lot of time in looking for a place that would be ideal for us traveling with small children. The rooms were ok (not the cleanest but we did not go for the rooms). Food for the first 2 days was ok - quality and quantity. After the 2nd day the hotel was invaded with Cuban families - either family or acquai [... read more]ntances of employees. The quality of food and quantity took a sharp decline and the service too (at this point most employees did not care about foreign tourists they were catering for their own families - it was so obvious - as an example: one morning we were looking for some yogurt for our children but they said they only have it every other day. Ok no problem. We waited another two days still no yogurt. When we left the buffet, on the hall, one employee was giving yogurts from a bag to another lady, supposedly her family member...). The only consistently positive thing about the place is its beach. I would recommend this hotel from October to May when only tourist are allowed to stay.

Cuba 2016

Smaller hotel that is right on the beach and has a lovely swim up bar pool. The food is decent and has lots of selection. For the rooms you will want to request an remodeled room. The snack bar does not exist anymore it is in the hotel lobby bar where you have a selection of sandwiches after 11pm.

Cozy family oriented resort

3rd time to this resort. Love the beach,the grounds, the sacr that everything is close. The renovations are great and love the lively paint colours of the buildings! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food which normally is good, really wasn't good this time. The AC in the room wasn't good either. It was unseasonably hot. I love the resort because it's familiar but I'm not sure it will be on my list of places to go next time.

Nice resort

the resort is small and nice.Th e food was good and the drinks. staff very nice. Rooms were nice and very clean . pool was good. The beach is awesome. overall is a great resort. we will return we liked because of the size not too big and the staff were awesome

Small, cozy and really nice reasort ! Relaxing

$5 minutes from the airport. Love the fact that it was a small resort. Everything was not to far. Renovated with ocean view room were beautiful, clean and comfortable. The people were amazing. The beach was shallow and really beautiful. Kite boarding (surfing) spot ! (But not too windy to be on the beach and relax...) Food was really good for a Cuban resort, we were impressed. We went to Pilar beach, it was an amazing beach (take a 5 pesos bus, 15 minutes ride) and worth the ride.

Amazing value for Cuba

We loved this resort and would return! Beach awesome, pool bar, entertainment ! Food even better! Pleasantly surprised !!you have worries going to Cuba but not here, service wonderful, clean , rooms extra clean, no worries for towels or loungers !!!

Awesome Resort

Everything about this resort is perfect. The service, the lobby is amazing, the beach is so good after going to Pilar beach one day, i decided Iberostar Daiquiri's beach was just as good. The Air Canada Rep was very helpful at the resort, the trip to and from the hotel were great with knowledgeable staff.

Well Worth the Money

I have traveled quite often over the past 10 years and this resort was ideal for many reasons. Although this resort was small, it was very compact and everything was close to each other. The hotel was very clean, the food was decent and the wait staff everywhere on the resort was exceptional. Also, the cost was very reasonable. This was the cheapest that I have ever paid for a trip in 10 years and this resort was well worth every penny I spent.

Restful Week

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Will return again. Night show at the Disco needs more space and chairs. Other than that everything was beautiful. Loved the beach. The food was really good. Nice renovated rooms

5 star beach and a relaxing atomospher

The staff was excellent and the food for the month of April was overall good and the Cuban and Mexican meal was excellent ..the fruit was off season so missed out on mangos. The grounds was easy to get around for walking distance of 5mins. We disliked our outdated room and had it changed to a newly renovated room. This is a 17year old resort and they need to spend money to update the washrooms the internet room. We enjoyed our massage onsite and our snorkling excurtion. we enjoyed the relaxed at [... read more]mosphere here.

Not as good as last year

The hotel and location was awesome. The hotel staff was great. The food was no where near as good as last year. And I ended up with over 70 sand flee bight on my body. My wife only had a few but this is the second year and the second and our last trip to Cuba.
