Can't Wait To Go Back!!

First time in Mexico and the Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda really proved to me that I want to go back. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the rooms, restaurants and even public bathrooms were outstanding - always someone going around picking things up or clearing the table. The grounds of the hotel were so well kept that you never saw garbage laying around and a night the paths were well lit so that you could take a stroll from the B&W bar to the beach and feel safe. My on [... read more]ly caution is that if you get an adjoining room and you don't know the people in that room - change rooms. You truly could hear everything and I mean everything. There were times at 5:30 AM that our neighbor would return with friends and I swore they were in bed with me.

Great resort!

I stayed at this resort with my husband and 2 other couples. We found it very easy to find our way around, the buffet options were great and the staff was amazing!!! We would definitely stay at this location again and would recommend it to friends and family!

Expectations were exceeded!

My expectations for this resort were not that high after reading a lot of reviews. After spending 10 days there I can certainly recommend that you not listen to a bad word about it. The staff was amazing, the food was plentiful and very tasty - lots of Mexican dishes at every meal. The a la Cartes were wonderful. We did not spend a lot of time on the beach, so the seaweed problem didn't affect our enjoyment of the resort. The smaller pool could use some maintenance - loose / missing tiles, and s [... read more]eemed to be an issue with the water circulating through the pool. The far end near the towel hut seemed to always have a sunscreen slick floating on top. The rooms were kept very clean, and supplies were always replenished. The resort transportation - "Bus" was a welcome feature wen we were tired. It makes a loop of the resort, so you can hop on and off where you need to go. Drinks were terrific! you just tell them exactly how you want it, and that's the way you get it! Pina Colada with Malibu - no problem! Buffet staff was the best - Fernando and Santiago were our servers for 8 of our 10 days - they remembered all of our preferences after the first day!

Great Vacation at Mexico

Our 2017 vacation start from booking with TripCentral at Square One Sopping Centre. Thanks to Bill Gentry for helping us book on this hotel that I choose from their book. This is our first time in Mexico, and it was a great vacation I would say. We stayed at Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda. Mexican, and Steak house is my fav. At a buffet they have different theme every night. Service are good and staff very helpful and very accommodating to all the tourist. Even if you do not give them tips every time you have your meal. At the end you will have no choice to give them some $ as their service is really great. The weather is great too even if it was raining for two days before we left. I though it was still great as there was time to just relax in your room. Lots of sleep. Room was just nice size, it is being clean everyday and most of all linens smell fresh everyday. Unlike the last hotel we visit in DR. Linens are smelling mouldy and sweat. Pool area is spectacular, activities are also great. If you love to swim on the beach though this is not the place for you. Beach is smaller and feels muddy under water. Mean sleepery, the water is brown sometimes. Some other day, it is okay. Still great in general. Thanks again to Juan, Miriam, ( staff that wait by the beach buffet). Great Resort

This was our second visit to Blue Bay and we were happy with our stay there. The staff are great, the food is great and although we didn't’ have as much choice in the food this time, we still had plenty to eat. We think this may have been due to the pool snack bar being closed for repair. This is a nice clean resort if you’re not fussy on going in the ocean. The beach is nice lots of chairs available but the ocean is rocky and weedy and full of black silt. Even with water shoes, we found it  [... read more]difficult to go in the water because it was so murky. There is a huge pool steps away from the beach with lots of activities throughout the day. There is also a quieter adult pool a little farther back which we enjoyed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and will likely go back.

Amazing Resort

Food was delicious, friendly staff, clean resort. The Beach was okay, did not go in the ocean as it was not clean could be dirty due to Hurricane Irma and Maria going through. But we did sit at the bar on the beach and it was great. All the pools were clean and big lots of room to swim or walk in. Great idea with the beer/beverage cart and Popsicle/ice cream cart around the pool.

Very good

excellent food. many options for vegetarian and non vegetarian which i was happy about it. very close to many places such as playa del carmen. the hotel offer a taxi service for $5 to playa del carmen and they pick you up as well .

Ok

Dinning really wasn't what we expect As Mexican and being in our country we expected a lot of flavour the service at the swimming pool was really poor not enough waitress and the bartenders didn't have good attitude

Good food!

This is a decent hotel. You will be acknowledged by staff and the bartenders are friendly and the wait staff will remember who you are and give you excellent service. Where it is lacking is the beach. There are a lot of rocks and a lot of debris and seaweed. The beach is quite narrow and hard to go for a relaxing swim when you have to cross a lot of big rocks to get to a sandy part. It was okay

The resort was okay. It was not my favourite considering the service was not that good. Our room got flooded and concierge nor management called to offer us an alternate room. This created alot if dissatisfaction for us as we attempted to followup with front desk more than 3 times. We finally got a new room after 4 attempts and negotation.

The Best Holiday We've Had

We loved the staff and their cheerful, respectful, and accommodating relationship with guests. The food was absolutely amazing! The only thing regarding food that we weren't too happy with was that men had to wear long pants should they want to go to one of the specialized restaurants. We find that the climate does not allow for such thing since it's too hot. The pools were constantly clean and great activities were being held by staff all the time, including food and snacks! Sadly the beach has rocks as you walk into the ocean and wasn't clean from weeds, but the sand was really nice and there were always enough chairs. Our room was constantly clean and we had all the towels and supplies that we needed. All in all it was an amazing experience and would 100% recommend it!

3 starts resort

This resort requires preventive maintenance, pool and hallways in the building are deteriorated. Lack of maintenance in the pool even sometimes low recirculation of the water in the pool created grease spots

Blue Bay exceeded all expectations

Arrived with my my wife and 2 kids and could not have been more pleased from drop off to pickup! Rooms were fantastic between a split 2 rooms with 2 showers for the 4 of us I have no complaints. Rooms were always turned down to perfection and hotel maids always asked if anything additional was required (water...beer etc...) All the buffets which we leaned towards always had something for the fussiest in our clan and all left with tummies full with great desserts. We are a very active family and were impressed by all the poolside activities along with nightly activities after dinner. The beech volleyball court was played on continuously and we always seemed to get great 6 on 6 matches going.... FANTASTIC resort that we will visit again in the near future !

Great Vacation!

The hotel was a great spot for a week vacay. Very clean and well-kept, food was great and the staff were beyond amazing. Beach is small but very beautiful and pools were amazing too! Would definitely return!

Nice stay

My favourite thing about the BlueBay was the beverage choice, endless choices and unlike other places down south they offered many kinds that we have at home too. There was plenty of room in the pool considering it was so big. The smaller pooler was nice because it wasn't less crowded. Food was ok but service was great. Night entertainment was always interesting. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would go back !

An awesome Resort!

We love staying at the Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda because the food and service is impeccable! This is our 5 time here and we keep coming back every year. The layout is perfect and the staff are friendly as well as the rooms. Clean and everything works. And if you leave a few pesos the cleaning staff leaves you a nice treat! We'll be back!

Great resort

Food and rooms were great.The only drawback was that there was no don't feed the animals signs by the pool near building #6. The animals that are similar to racoons have tripled in population since our trip last year. These animals were harassing us for food by the pool. Other than that , service was great except for the servers by the pool restaurant. the servers had a bit of an attitude.

Absolutely one of the most beautiful resorts!

Our room was always clean, as well every room was always clean and presentable. The food was tasty and always plentiful. I would go back in a heart beat, and would recommend very highly to friends and family.

Fun resort!!

The resort was awesome but would have been better if it had a swim-up bar! Staff was very friendly there was no disco at night however the swing bar/ black and white bar and they have a beach party were all great additions instead that keeps it different. :)

Beautiful, relaxing resort.

The hotel was beautiful. I have stayed at other all-inclusive resorts and have not been up to the same level as this hotel. The staff were very friendly. It was nice to have cart service throughout the resort. The pool was clean. There were many chairs so there was never a problem to find an area to sit and relax poolside and as well on the beach.
