Not my ideal vacation very disappointing

The staff at the hotel was good helpful and friendly, however we had issues with the room, and the beach was a mess the whole time we were there, the first room was in disrepair, shower door off it's hinges and TV not working, also balcony was beside a very loud air conditioner. No handles on the outside of the sliding doors, so you needed to keep them open in order to get back in. This allowed the insects into the room at night. Second room over looked the service road and traffic started aro [... read more]und 5:00 am. TV also did not work, and took four attempts at services calls to correct , we arrived on the Friday and finally had some resolutions by Wednesday, we left on the Friday to come home. Would not recommend this resort to friends.

AMAZING RESORT

The whole experience at Luxury Grand Bahia Principe Ambar Blue was fantastic. The people working there were all very friendly. The entertainment was great but it should have been until a later time. The food was amazing. The pool and beach were beautiful! Transportation to and from different resorts were very quick. I would definitely go back again.

Ambar Blue is an Amazing Resort

I decided to spend my vacation this year again at the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue. Last year O stayed at the Ambar Green the sister resort to this one. It is a great Resort as well but farther from the beach. In 2016, I stayed at the Ambar Blue and it was great then. This resort did not disappoint me this year as it is still an excellent resort. The bar service is excellent with all top shelf liquor. The grounds are kept immaculate by the grounds staff. I should also mention the the beach staff kept the beach cleaned of sea weed every day. The staff in the lobby are excellent and very good at their jobs and I I found all staff are very helpful, friendly and always a smile on their faces. The guest services staff booked all my a la carte restaurants quickly and efficiently with the a la Cartes that I requested. I love seafood and they made sure that I knew Tuesday nights were the Gala food nights at the Palymera Buffet restaurant with all the seafood and meat dishes that you would ever want. The bar tenders are very quick and efficient at their jobs. The room cleaning person that I had, Sandra is excellent and very good at her job. My room was cleaned very well and early every day with the exception of one day. I understand on that day a lot of guests left the resort to fly home at the end of their vacations. This put her a bit behind schedule. I did not consider this a big issue. She made sure that I had lots of towels, toliteries and the room cleaned excellent every day. The supervisor Watson ensured that any issues no matter how small were taken care of immediately. I left a good tip every day for room cleaning staff and other staff. I will stay at this resort again in the future. Just a side note. I booked my vacation thru Melissa Alexander and Trip Central and will continue to book my future vacations with this company. Amazing resort

Excellent service, food, drinks, rooms very clean, and the beach is to die for (their staff always keeps it clean and safe). Exceptional room buttler and maid service. They exceeded our expectations on all our requests. Main buffet restaurant staff in general not so friendly as in Cuba. I would recommend this as an opportunity for improvement in this area. The French restaurant has the best personnel as far as meeting and/or exceeding customer satisfaction. Everythig was great, would go back for sure, everyone was so nice, things were so clean, pool and beach was perfect, food was fantastic, wish i coyld have stayed for two weeks, next time we just might.

Most Amazing trip we've ever had!

It was a trip that will be etched in our minds forever. Feeling like a king and queen with butler service if so desired. Even a pillow selection was offered and every night chocolates on our pillows. An absolutely beautiful resort close to the beach. Service was impeccable. Rooms were spacious and very clean. The food was amazing in every restaurant. Even the buffet was extraordinary! We've only been home 3 days and can't wait to go back!

Great Resort 7 days in paradise !

We had a great time ! The food , service , entertainment second to none ..The beach was amazing and clean . Favorite al la carts - Don Pablo,Mikado,and Ridizio You cant go wrong dinning at either of these ! Cant forget to thank DanielleS for booking and answering all our questions about this trip

Large but beautiful resort

This was a large resort. Stayed at the Ambar blue. Couldn't ask for anything nicer, easy access to the pool and right on the ocean. Although, we never got a chance to eat at the al la carte restaurants we never felt that we missed out on anything as we ate at the 3 buffets they have. Different theme night every night and the food was amazing could never go hungry. The entertainment was amazing during the day as well as the evening. The pool staff, the restaurant staff and the maids were terrific never had to ask twice for anything. The rooms were a little outdated but very comfortable. Had no problem sleeping after a hard day of sunbathing.

Great Resort

The resort was well laid out, everything was convenient Lots of shade and loungers at the beach, only the early risers could get near the water or the pool The food was amazing, great night life The rooms were very large and clean

A Great Stay Yet Again At Ambar Blue

This the 2nd year in row we stayed at the Ambar Blue in Punta Cana. Took my sister and her better-half on this trip and we had an excellent time. Staff is always accommodating and even booked events for us prior to our arrival. Aritza on Butler Services is the best! She went out of her way to make sure all of our hotel requests were met, a friendly and professional staff member. Weather was beautiful! Good resort

Great beach. Excellent food. The rooms were nice. The ala carte restaurants were excellent and the service at those restaurants were fabulous. Room service was good. Staff service and guest service was poor. Guest service employees were unprofessional and booking ala cartes was stressful, staff were rude and did not book us for any of the ala cartes that they said we were booked for. If it were not for the great beach, excellent food and otherwise friendly staff, our trip would have been r [... read more]emembered as a stressful encounter with rude employees. Also this resort has the feel of an annoying telemarketer, as you are solicited by the resorts staff in every build to book trips only through them and not travel agents. Mia you like talking to telemarketers during dinner time then go to this resort.

Great Resort - Horrible Guests

The resort is very beautiful, lush and enormous. I would not go back to this resort for two main reasons: 1) we were placed in an adjoining room with a door which happened to be paper thin. The people next door would arrive drunk in the morning around 3:00 a.m. and make lots of noise with their laughter and talking and banging things around until 5:30 in the morning. They kept us up for a few nights until we asked to be moved. After that, we had better sleep. 2) we would get up early and go t [... read more]o the beach around 7:30 a.m. About 99% of the palapas were taken, mostly the ones closest to the beach, despite numerous signs on them saying " do not reserve". You could tell that people strategically placed books, towels, shoes, etc. on the chairs but people were not to be seen for hours! Now they sell these clips so you can clip your towel onto the chairs so the wind will not blow away your towel if left unattended for hours. We were told that many people get up early, put their towels on the chairs and then go back to bed. The same thing happened at the pools. Sometimes the "towel police" would come by and remove towels from the vacant chairs and then fights would break out. We feel that more needs to be done to prohibit these selfish people from reserving chairs and palapas. The beach is too small for the number of people on the resort. The Amber Blue is only one of 7 resorts on the property, so you have thousands of people fighting for space on a little bit of beach. Furthermore, it is very difficult to book the a la carte restaurants. We were often told that the ones we wanted were booked and we were swayed to take very early or very late reservations. If we wanted to book a reaonable time, we were asked to visit the restaurant ahead of time and ask if it would be ok to dine at a particular time. However, every time we had dinner we noticed that the restaurant was only half full. Perhaps they were keeping them half empty to accommodate the”Priveleged Club”? If you like a lot of noise, rude, selfish guests, waiting in lines and slow service, then this hotel is for you!

Returning Guests to an Amazing Resort

This is our 7h time staying at Grand Bahia, 3rd at Ambar Blue. Although Grand Bahia is a huge resort, Blue is an isolated area close to the beach for adults only and although you have access to all amenities throughout the resort, If you are there just to relax, Blue has enough restaurants and bars that there is really no need to go beyond. Hotel rooms, beach and restaurants are all amazing. Food selection is good with plenty of choices. Bar Service can be slow at times. If you want a cabana nea [... read more]r the beach, you have to get up pretty early, before 7, to stake one out with your towels. VERY friendly staff. Although we are beach people, the pool is great with plenty of loungers. Despite any shortcomings referred to above, we will definitely return.

Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue

This hotel was really a five start resort. It was more than we expected, the grounds were imacculate, the rooms were nice and comfortable. We were one minute from the pool and 3 minutes from the beach which was very cleaned. The beach was very nice and we could walk as far as we wanted. The choice of A la Carte restaurants was excellent and there was so many choices of food to choose from at the buffets also. Love this place

This hotel has the most beautiful grounds,every day they have gardeners cutting, planting,watering everything is lush and green lots of palm trees and plants on the beach The rooms are cleaned 2x a day morning and evening bar fridge is stocked daily room service is excellent for (food,pillows,room scents) This Ambar blue section has a beautiful beach thick soft sand and plenty of beach chairs ,palapas and a beach bar with Caribbean music playing The buffet is a different theme every day [... read more] for dinner (Asian ,American ,Dominican ,Mexico ,seafood night) best buffet I have had at any resort Many a la cartes to choose from

Stay at one place, play at more!

My experience, awesome! There is so much to do. If you want to lay low, hang out by the beach, catch a show and turn in, you can or if you prefer to catch a couple of shows and go dance at yhe disco, you can. You have more than a few pools to choose from and you have many a la carte restaurants to choose from. Buffet also has different theme nights if you prefer not to make a reservation. The reservation part can be a little irritating if wifi doesn't kick in fast enough or if you are set on e [... read more]ating at a specific time. You can always make your way to the lobby during the day to make dinner reservations if you dont want to use the hotel webbapp. Food is great at the a la carte restaurants. Staff is friendly. Rooms are nice and big, could use a bit of fixing ie chipped tile here and there (if you want to be super picky) but we didnt care too much about that. the beach and main lobby are all in walking distance. Entertainment is great. You get a great selection of premium alcohol all included, black label, jack daniels, bombay gin, frangelico to name a few. Overall I highly recommend this resort.

Amazing resort

This was an amazing resort. We have been here before but stayed in a different area. The grounds are well kept, our room was great, we had very good service, food was just too much and the food was excellent, everyone was very polite. We would definitely recommend this resort to everyone.

Beautiful

Very nice, good food ,friendly staff..disappointed the 3rd bed wasn't ready when we checked in...they only had stuff for 2 people and we were 3 in the room and we never saw our butler that was assigned to room
