Costa Morena: Great resort

Great staff. Wonderful snorkelling. Food good and healthy. Safe and able to go for great walks off resort. Only negative is on check put one if our group had left their water jug outside their room and were charged 6 cucs for it plus 1 cuc each for 2 plastic hangers that they said were cracked! Funny! Plus a suitcase of one of us did not arrive with us and hola sun did nothing about it. Was a huge hassle! As we left the airport on the way home we checked list and found and there it was!!

Carisol los Corales: If you want to live a real "Cuban" experience...

If you want to live a real "Cuban" experience that's the place to go. Staff are always pleasant and try to help you. Be ready to see different little problems every day... Electricity stops sometime, the toaster might be defective for few days, the resort might experience a shortage of fruit juice or the front destroy are running out of CUC money... But all these are part of your "real" experience. Brisas Sierra Mar: Unique resort

Very nice ground, mountains around, almost every room is ocean view. Food is Cuban. But beach is with dark sand and a lot of bags. Nice coral reefs are close to the beach around 100 meters to swim. Workers are nice. In winter time it's the warmest place in Cuba.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Very nice, as expected

We went for the 5th time to this resort in past 11 years. As expected, our stay was relaxing, good food (very tasty), nice people (local and tourists). We liked the most the fact there is no motor sport activity. One can enjoy the "raw Cuba" and Caribbean Sea, as God created them. Slow paced of everything, makes me forget about stress and take it easy, relax. Scuba diving is very good, experienced dive masters which take no risks. With a little bit of persuasion and few extra pesos, we convinced the Cuban divemasters to take us to 2 famous shipwreck (more like 1 hour drive from resort, but bad road condition) sunk in late 1800's during the Spanish-American war. Full of artifacts, and 100-150 feet visibility.... it was mind blowing.

Carisol los Corales: Fantastic vacation!

A lovely resort, small but quaint with staff that go above and beyond to meet your needs. The snorkeling available at your fingertips made this one of our best vacations we've taken in Cuba. When not in the water, the view alone made it worth it. Our room, and the resort itself were spotless and very functional.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Beautiful Resort !

Great resort,, nice weather friendly staff the beach was very nice. The service was great by each and every staff we came across on our vacation eapecially Rene the gardener who took the time to talk and showed us the grounds. The maid service was excellent ( Marisa) she was wonderful made sure our room was replenish every day! Thanks guy keep up the great work! Hopefully we will be visiting soon again!

Carisol los Corales: Great Value For Your Money

Resort is small and quaint! The beach is beautiful; however, quite rocky so don't forget to bring your water shoes. The resort has two complexes where you can swim and eat. Buffets are small due to size of resort and so is the selection of food. Helpful hint...eat dinner as soon as the buffet opens. Both al a cart restaurants where great and service was excellent. Minor issues....hotel only gives you one key per room and both the pools and hotel rooms are a bit dated. Overall, the accommodations, food options and age of the resort truely reflect 3 star rating that the resort has.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Beautiful views from just about every where/

Food was OK. Service is very good. Rooms clean. Nice beach with dark sand, water still clear and you can see the ground below. I recomend this place, 30 degrees in January. Great.We plan a return rip sonn fo sure.

Only 3 stars but have found my annual winter getaway. Love the place despite: - Horrible service from airline. They lost my girlfriend's luggage for 3 days with others. Not the hotel's fault and am grateful to the hotel manager for going out of his way to deliver the luggage. - Elevator service was spotty. Not a problem for me as I enjoyed the 160 approx steps from the beach level to the buffet and main lobby areas. I traveled with seniors however who feared going to the beach as they could not  [... read more]climb the stairs. They really have to fix their elevator and get a backup unit. There was 2 elevators but later learned 1 has not worked for years. Not good. - Wifi service was horrible. I bought 4 passes of 1 hour each @ 2 CUCs per pass to log in and connect. Wifi rarely worked despite connecting to the router successfully. Worse yet, when I could connect, it would last for a few seconds and then disconnect. Of course, the service was still "logged in" meaning my pass expired in 1 hour unless I logged back in and "signed off". No support or advice at the hotel. This has to be frustrating as I brought a laptop along to keep up with emails and activity I did not want to share on a public kiosk PC there. Now what I liked. - Breathtaking scenery. I loved walking the beach and the surrounding resort. - The water was great at the beach and took advantage frequently. - They have a small plot of land by the beach and grow food for the hotel. This showed up in the flavour of some of the produce there. Excellent. - Although in need of some repair, the hotel is a delight to stay there and loved the layout. Just looking out from my ocean view room was simply, "Wow". - I can see why I ran into several Canadians there who have been staying at Brisas Sierra Mar every year for many years. I will be one of those people when I return next year. - I also enjoyed the "mud bath" tour. Recommended - Although there was limited choices and some shortages of food, overall, it was very good, Do not visit Cuba to a typical resort of you love thick steaks, huge cheeseburgers and other choices here in Canada. - The musicians performing were very good to excellent. There is a blind guitar player that performs there who can be best described as "Jose Feliciano meets Carlos Santana". Despite my issues, I have no hesitation returning there.

Carisol los Corales: Relaxing and Laid Back Resort

This is an older resort, which is at a bargain price. The view on the beach is great and the location is private and serene. It has its issues, but we had a good time. The rooms are very basic and the pillows are old, but the staff is nice and the beach is amazing.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Loved it

My husband and I visited this resort from Dec 17 to 24th. We had a great time - the grounds are lovely, the food was quite good with enough variety to satisfy. Staff were friendly and helpful and the entertainment in the lobby and at the beach restaurant was great.

Brisas Los Galeones: Healthy, peaceful resort

This resort is more like going to a lodge where you want to enjoy the natural local beauty of the area. It is a small resort but offers everything that you need if you are looking for a quiet place to relax. More than enough food and beverages, all served by a lovely well-trained staff who are very attentive to your needs.The manager will also deal with your requests in that quiet dignified Cuban manner. Any minor inconviences are easily compensated by the overall good aspects of the resort.

Carisol los Corales: Nice place, could better...

We spent one week in los Corales with full access to Carizol. The location is OK with a sandy/rocky beach (~1 km) and a good snorkeling area between the beach and the reef. There was a lottery every day, where to go for lunch and dinner. The quality of service in the Corales and Carizol restaurants were unpredictable, between very good and below average. Sometimes the food selection and the quality of service were excellent. However, very often the food was barely warm, there were waiting lines  [... read more]for plates, tables were not cleaned up in time and so on. In my view smokers should be separated from non-smokers in the restaurant and lobby. They also should be educated about not leaving stinking cigarette butts in the sand and everywhere else. The resort management could do a better job with keeping local peddlers away from the resort beach area. I am not going to buy honey or a bottle of allegedly 15-years-old Rum Anejo from a stranger. Unfortunately, tips for the personnel are becoming a rule and not an expression of gratitude for a job well done. Good vacations overall.

Love the location of the resort with the mountains and the ocean. The view is fantastic even if you are on the pool or on the beach. The gardens are beautiful and well kept. and the staff is amazing and very friendly.

Brisas Sierra Mar: great resort for relaxing vacation

very clean, friendly staff,one of the best place's i been to in cuba. and i have done a lot. it's better for older folks but lot's of stair's and elevators old and breakdown quite often. not much for kids to do. set in mountains so views are exelant. could offer more in ways of day trips but would be expensive because of where it's placed but over all a great resort.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Awesome Resort!!!!!!!!

I luved the resort, it had everythg any one would want. Shopping and the food was so good I gained weight I hate to admit. I even watched them roast a pig and Im not a ham eater but it tasted just like chicken was so amazing. I even had a mud bath and felt like a new person after did my arthritics good too. The mountain view is speechless and the pools and beach so relaxing. The staff and workers were so helpful I needed extra pillows were in my room before could get back after going to front de [... read more]sk. They gave us shampoo and soap and even toothbrushes in case we forgot somethg. They had entertainment every nite even a magician who was just like David Copperfield that good. Well I tell you a resort worth going to twice.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Amazing Time!

Staff and guests made this a great trip! Resort was quiet which meant no line ups at the buffet and no need to worry about securing your favorite chaise at the pool! There is a a place to eat great food across the street from the resort called Oceano... Wait staff are extremely hospitable and the good is great!

Carisol los Corales: Weather you can count on

This is a very dry area, hence little/no rain on vacation. The restaurant is open air (flies on food)..they try to cover but Saran Wrap is tricky to work with. The area is beautiful and touring is a must. Seafood at nearby restaurants was always fresh & delicious. Most return visitors we spoke with were not pleased with food and rooms.
