Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Bitten by insects and bad beach

We stayed at Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas for one week. The resort is very large and includes an adults-only section that is quieter and closer to the beach. Our room was near the lobby and restaurants. There was a small private beach nearby, but it was only suitable for snorkeling. For swimming, we had to take a golf cart to another beach, which unfortunately was not clean, had a bad smell, and was full of jellyfish. The children were afraid to enter the water. From the third day, we trave [... read more]led about 20 minutes by bus to a nearby resort to enjoy the beautiful Caya Santa Maria beach. Unfortunately, this hotel does not have a nice beach. The food variety was acceptable, mostly chicken and pasta, but there were limited fruits and vegetables. The staff were very polite and friendly. On our last day, we were badly bitten by insects, and even after four days we still have itching and pain. I do not recommend this hotel for families with small children.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Not the greatest resort

Very nice place to stay. Although no entertainment at night, mainly elderly people and children visiting. Service is extremely slow and we had to go to front desk 4 times before our sink could have a pipe attached and we could use it. People are nice. Not always the cleanest. Food is not the greatest.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great resort!

Good value for the money. Very busy resort, lineups everywhere. Food and accommodations were good. Stunning beach with lots of shade and beds. Drinks were decent, lots of rum but not great cocktails . Overall I would recommend this resort for the lively atmosphere and location(20 minutes to the Cayo Coco airport) and of course for the AMAZING BEACH and Cuban people.

Just got back from Memories Caribe and had an awesome trip overall. Great vibe, great people, and a beach that honestly steals the show. I survived the mosquitoes… my niece did not. Overall A charming resort with a fun vibe, amazing staff, and a stunning beach. A few hiccups, but the memories (pun intended) were worth it.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: The BEST Staff!

We arrived very late at night after a long trip, not the best start to a vacay. The hotel staff was quick to get us a room but they were short on accommodation due to New Years so our room was not as expected. They said "No problem, please come back in the morning and we will get you another room." The next morning we approached the front counter with our concerns. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Hotel is lost its four star rating

The breakfast and Buffet area food is okay it's the only real place to eat but the menu never changes there was no shrimp no Lobster there was not even any type of beef steak other than hamburger pork and chicken it's pretty well used in every dish The resort bars for a day and a half completely out of draft beer that was unbelievable, as well as some premium stock Liquors you could not get like vodka and a few others where sold out at times.Resort grounds are kept beautifully trimmed the beach of course is beautiful even though half of it is gone it's nothing like the pictures you see on the website .there's no such thing as premium or personal concierge you can't get a hold of one anyway because the room phones in the entire Resort are dead.the biggest disappointment is the premium Club office personnel after the very first day they disappeared most Personnel that was left to serve you practically don't have a clue of what's going on in this Resort .there was also only one show in the week 7 nights only one show all the rest of the shows were canceled. most bartenders and restaurants staff had poor communication skills like everyone else at this Resort especially the management at the front desk and the premium service office staff could barely understand anything you tried to ask them they just shook their head with no clue of what to do.not trained well about operations in the entire Resort

Sanctuary White Sands: Would recommend

Overall a great holiday. We recently returned from the SWS, and was pleasantly surprised when he arrived. The overall condition of the hotel was very good. We were in block 6, and a great view of the pool and partial view of the ocean. The room is modern, everything worked as it should. The room included a safe, hair dryer, charge receptacle, etc. Beds were comfortable and bedding was adequate. We requested a coffee make which was provided. The staff were amazing, friendly, and ready t [... read more]o address any questions or concerns. Good service at the various food locations. The food overall we found more than adequate. As people note you will not starve. They do a great job working with what they have to provide. Beach was great though there were days when the seaweed was present. There was generally a breeze so when outside there was few bugs.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: worth to the price

The tastes from all restaurants are good, but the texture of chicken and pork a bit rough. Seafoods are great but not the crabs, it was dead and the meat is poisoning. I found Beachside Bar has the best taste of all restaurant. Room is old but very clean. Overall very good

Playa Pesquero: Food expectations were low, but it was far worse than expected

First off, the layout of the buffet is very unorganized. The second the buffet opens, everyone rushes the place and the giant lineups begin. While those are in line waiting for freshly made food, others have to cut in and gather in swarms to take from the pre-made pans. Who thought this layout would be a good idea?! The food was not good. The reviews that state everything is perfect and nothing is missing is certainly not true. Just because you were once there and the food was decent then, doesn't mean it's the same today. The weather was great, the pools were nice and the beach is beautiful but the food that was available was terrible and unappealing. I will not be returning to this resort nor would I recommend.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Iberostar Selection Esmerelda

Rooms were beautiful - spacious, clean, lots of hot water and great air conditioning. However, they do need to have blankets available in rooms. Pools were clean and had lots of lounge chairs. Food was not hot at the buffets and lacking vegetables. Not all food was labelled and we were often uncertain as to what we were eating. Grilled food was good and hot. Breakfast as good and hot. Sandwiches at snack bar were good. Beach was nice with lots of lounges and shade available

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely Resort but some problems

The gardens were beautifully kept. The pools were pristine. Bar service, buffet service and room cleaning were excellent. The beach was beautiful and clean and there were lots of available loungers Unfortunately there were a lot of jellyfish. We were not impressed with the lack of food choice but we understand this is Cuba. Pizza bar never opened. The hotel lacked maintenance particularly the general public washrooms. Many were closed and locked In our suite the safe did not work [... read more]. Balcony door didn’t lock. The elevator and room doors all needed a good cleaning. Bus from the airport is 90 minutes In spite of these problems our party of 5 children and 6 adults had a memorable vacation.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Sucky

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Will return

Am a repeat visitor to this resort. The people are great. Very friendly and helpful. Had the pleasure of meeting Maria from public relations. I personally think the ala carte restaurants are very good. The resort is very clean and the beach is beautiful. My only criticism is the inconsistency of hot water and the lack of water pressure for showers.

Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Amazing resort

Beautiful hotel. Great crew. The food is probably the best in Cuba considering the conditions they have. This will now be my favorite vacation spot in Cuba. The distance from the airport to the hotel is 25 km. There is only one thing that the buses that take people from the airport to the hotel just stink. I understand that there are no funds for cleaning products, but this stench is unbearable. Unfortunately, this vacation was far from the experience that was advertised and paid for. We encountered multiple serious issues throughout our stay, which significantly impacted our health, comfort, and overall enjoyment of the trip. Grand Memories Varadero: NO WAY!!!! RUNNNNNNNN......save yourself the trip and pay extra to go to another destination!

The hotel was horrible, had no hot water for the entire duration of our stay! The room smelled like mold and the outside smelled like the sewage was going to back up at any moment. The toilets didn't flush right and coming from a northern ontario county I know all about septic damage! This hotel was not a 4.5 Star like the rating gives it.....more like a 0.5 Star! Keys never work and you walk over a mile to the front desk to get another one (IF Someone is there you are lucky)! The pool was half empty and when they finally filled it on the 3rd day it was sub-zero temps! Don't forget to pack lots of snacks and make sure you bring condiments that you would enjoy! But its CUBA, the beach is a beauty and the water is clear! Mosquitoes are hungry so don't stay by the sand after 6 pm! I really feel like if Sunwing and TripCentral don't think my family deserve another holiday then thats a shame.....no hot water.....staff even complaining and agreeing with how we were all staying is not right. To think, we brought over 20 people to this resort at an average of $1300 per person!!! Great Memory for sure!

Playa Pesquero: Avoid at all costs

I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment with the vacation package we purchased through Sunwing for our stay at Playa Pasquero from December 30 to January 6. We were a group of 14 people. What was meant to be a relaxing holiday turned into an extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable experience due to multiple issues at the 5* resort..... Our sheets were never changed throughout the stay, and the towels were also not replaced despite repeated requests, and daily tips to the staff.. We had to go to the lobby daily to request water... the fridge was always empty. The room conditions were unacceptable, with a significant mosquito infestation and even signs of bed bugs, which made it difficult to sleep or feel comfortable in the space. We have pictures of the mosquito bites.. The food situation was equally concerning. The quality was extremely poor, with leftovers from lunch being served again at dinner. Over the course of seven days, we did not see a single fresh vegetable offered. Breakfast was chaotic, with tourists literally fighting over eggs due to lack of availability and poor organization. This is not the level of service or quality advertised, nor what we expected when booking with Sunwing. Overall, the experience fell drastically short of the standards promised, and it certainly did not reflect the value we paid for this trip.
