Paradise on earth

This was our second time on this resort.diffenetly no regrets.We went to Melia Jardines del Rey Cayo coco Cuba on March 5 to March 12...From checking in to airport the flight n checking in on the resort everyting went well .We got a beautiful room close to the lobby has i request.beautiful view first day we were on the beach beautiful ocean beach is large and beautiful..we spend time at the swim up bar we had a really great time .This resort has no lack of anything...The service was great food  [... read more]n drinks...we realty enjoy the snack shack at the beach pizza n chicken was to die for and the beer was nice n cold n really good service..We did some shopping in the area were all vendors were...the room was very large n clean ..We love all the a la carte we did..Japanese was my favorite thanks to the resort recognizing our second time there..We did Bana ,Don peperone, Mexican...24 hour bar always had food out and service..the grounds were breath taking after all they went trough with hurican and all it look amazing.night entertainments were very interesting much talent...Over all, all was just wonderful we love Cuba and the Cubans the r hard working people and always smiling...They have a beautiful personalities..We were 6 Adults Next year we r planning on going again in a big group...well I hope u enjoy my review...Tks Carole William's for making this possible... trip central

Restful and relaxing

What did we like??? the short ride to the resort, the quietness of the location being the end of the line of resorts with rolling hills and mile long beach to our right, the hospitality and friendliness of all who worked there, the beautiful architecture of the main buildings, the view from our oceanfront room, the many lounge chairs and shade huts, the comfort and cleanliness of our room, and even the 2 visiting frogs on our ground floor patio, as well as the opportunity to serve those who were [... read more] repairing and building to beautify the resort more. NOTE: the hurricane somewhat destroyed the coral reef and has created land-mine moments in the water by the beach. Bring water shoes and enjoy the treasure hunting.

Very good

Nice swimming pools, clean rooms, decent food, entertainment also fairly good. The hotel lobby was too loud, and the internet that was available only in the lobby wasn’t very useful for communication with my family in Canada as it was so noisy that it was almost impossible to talk over the phone (skype, massanger, viber)

Very nice resort,would go there again,this is our second time there would go back wish we could of had first or second floor overall was ok

Awesome resort!

I loved everything this resort had to offer. The room was clean and well maintained, the food was good and always available, the beach is amazing, the pools were great. The staff are always smiling and ready to serve you. We are going back next year! See you then😎

Awesome Time

This was a great vacation. The food was good and the people were very nice. The pools were always clean and the staff were always helpful. The beach was amazing it was a clear blue and you could walk out and and it didn't get deep. The only bad thing is I didn't really like some of there mixed drinks. The nightly shows were great and different from anything I've ever seen. I would recommend this Hotel.

Buyer beware!

This is a huge hotel so if you have mobility issues this resort is NOT for you. Hotel staff are not the friendliest, which I know is odd for Cuba. The beach is beautiful but have limited blue beach chairs on the beach. These. chairs would be gone before 6:00 AM

Very Nice Resort & Great Entertainment

Feb 21 to Mar 3 2018 Our stay was great!!! Amazing how well everything was put back together after Hurricane Irma back in September of 2017. 20mins from the airport was really convenient. The Beach was amazing! Beautiful White sands with Serene Tranquil waters. Great sailing, kayaking and Snorkeling. The Entertainment was Excellent! The pools were large and not over crowed. Other than that we enjoyed are great 10 Holiday to Melia Jardines del Rey.

Sub standard!!

Grounds, room, pools and beach really nice, food was unedible, awful, cold, same every night, staff not very friendly... ridiculous issues with getting a confortable chair at beach.... people were putting towels on them in the middle of night, I got there one morning at 530 am... and still couldn't get one.... hard plastic chairs that will kill your back, one bartender at beach bar, line up down the beach to get a drink.. crazy for 2000. People, 3 bartenders at swim up bar in pool and no one the [... read more]re.... never saw any management in the week I was there, garbage at pool overflowing, not emptied for 3 days... staff said not their job... difficult to get bottled water in room.

Clean. Friendly staff. Amazing beach. Good food. I have recommended this escort to close friends and family. As I said I WILL be returning winter 2019. I thank the staff for everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loved it

It was amazing I was so impressed with everything about this resort can't wait to go back. The pools were so clean . Food was amazing and the staff was so helpful. I can't wait to go back.everyone had a smile and couldn't do enough for you

Melia Jardines Del Rey

The resort was beautiful but very large and not equipped for all the people. The rooms were always very clean and maid service was excellent. Buffet was not large enough or open long enough hours to satisfy the flow of people. Most trays were empty as soon as they set them down, I waited 1 hours in the pasta line once I got it , it was worth waiting for . Then when you went to sit down to eat all you saw was a sea of dirty tables. Food was always cold by the time you got it. Not enough fres [... read more]h fruits and vegetables. No beach towels for 2 days. No vermouth for martini's. Line up for drinks always, not enough bar tenders. We found one place that was good for lunch by the pool it was excellent but had to wait in line to get in we usually didn't eat lunch until 2pm. the other snack bar didn't even acknowledge our entry and we waited 15 minutes no one came. The topper was that you couldn't flush you toilet paper down the toilets at all or it would back up. I felt I was camping at an outhouse.

Much Improvement needed!

Where should I start..I’m only commenting on what I witnessed Health Hazard- the dirty wine/water glasses and cutlery in the buffet restaurants are simply rinsed in a bucket of dirty water dried and reused, this is not acceptable. Choice of fruits were watermelon, green honeydew and pineapple. If you were not there at the opening your choice of foods were limited as they runnet out. Regardless of the price / other services I would never return due to what I witnessed in the buffet restaurants

Beach, entertainment, pools are great! Food terrible.

Loved the pools and bar service at pool was great. Evening entertainment in lobby and theater was good. Beach beautiful. Rooms large and fresh. Patio door lock busted. Used ironing board to wedge it closed. A la cartes were best food we had. Buffet breakfast not great. Meats were fatty and tasted awful. Omlette grill oils seemed stale. Coffee was grey in color. Breads dry. Many foods were running out. Line ups long at buffet. Dance lessons and darts and stretch and strength class good by pool.

Nice Resort But Some Areas Need Improvement

Grounds were pretty. Gardeners worked very hard and were very friendly. Rooms were large, well appointed, and clean. Pools were huge and very clean. Beach was amazing. Walked out to sandbar and water was so clear! Nightly shows were good. Lobby entertainment was great - pianist, singers, bands. Staff got people up dancing and having fun. There was an amazing band by the pool one day. Didn't catch their name but the singer looked just like Bruno Mars. Food in buffet was OK but not gre [... read more]at, with the exception of the omelette station and pasta station. Omelette guy was amazing - so friendly and made wonderful omelettes. They often ran out of hash browns and pancakes and one day we had to wait 25 minutes in line for our omelette. A la cartes food was fabulous though. Was surprised that many of the staff were not that friendly. One even rolled her eyes at me. Often had to wait for waiter to bring water to our table. They ran out of various things quite often - one day coke, one day beer, one day ice. Beer was warm one day. Water was often room temperature. We ordered fries at the 24 hr snack bar and didn't get them after asking twice so we left. This almost happened again on our last day. I asked three times this time. I was totally ignored by the bar staff when I asked if they could find out what happened to my fries. They just looked away and didn't answer. Some of the staff were wonderful but not all. Plumbing situation was not good. The toilets have flushing pedals on the floor but they seldom worked, thereby causing the contents within to pile up. Maids worked hard to keep up with it in the lobby but the pool bathroom was horrible. Despite these few issues, we still had a very nice time but I would not return due to food, some unfriendly/unhelpful staff and the toilet situation. One day, the floor of the wooden walkway to the beach completely fell apart under my husband and he fell about 5 feet straight down. Fortunately, he only got a small scratch on his leg from the broken pieces of wood but an elderly person may have been seriously hurt. When we reported this to customer service, they did nothing about it. It still wasn't repaired when we left and they offered us nothing for our trouble. Didn't even ask our name or room number.

Ok value for money!

We booked this resort as it was a good price. The beach is fabulous but can sometimes be hard to get a chair after 10 or so. Our hotel room was great, large and they set up a crib for us. The maid was amazing and made sure we always had enough water for our daughters formula. Worst part was the food, literally ate the same thing all week and not much variety in a la cartes as well.

Wonderful week

The hotel was very nice, lots of people though, have to wake up early to get a spot at the beach or pool area. The night entertainment in the lobby was amazing, the staff was very friendly and pleasant. Food is pretty good for Cuba, don’t have high expectation, but the breakfast was the best. I recommend waiting in line for the pasta at dinner. Beaches are beautiful and the a la cartes are very nice.

Big disappointment

This place was all hype. All the kayaks were broken and we were told they don't have anyone to fix them. Our window in our room was broken and stayed open the entire time and they couldn't fix it. The door handle on our sliding glass door broke and I had to ask for 2 days to get it fixed. Our closet door couldn't open and they never fixed it. The sofa was broken and it too 3 days to fix it. There was mould on the walls with the sink and on the curtains. We got our mini bar restocked only if we c [... read more]omplained to customer service so we stopped. If you weren't in the door to the buffet right away, the line ups were about an hour and the other food was gone. There was very little variety in the food. They constantly ran out of soft drinks at the bars. It was clear they were understaffed for the size of the resort. There were not enough pool or beach chairs. The people were generally friendly but expected at lot of tips for not a lot of service. And the worst was the outdoor night club every other night that blasted the music so loud our windows rattled and they started at 10pm sharp and went until 4:30 or 5am, depending on the night. Save your money and go to Mexico.

AWESOME RESORT

Fist time travelling to Cuba. I was unsure where to go and where to stay. Thank you Trip Central for your recommendation. I enjoyed every minute of my stay and i would recommend Melia Jardines del Rey. The resort was top notch. The food was delicious, and the beach was 5 star*. Thank you Trip Central for your recommendation.

Amazing Resort

This is one big resort. Rooms were great. Clean and spacious. The food was 31/2 out of 5 in our meger opinion. Staff griendly. 2 great big swim up pools. 9 restrants. Beautiful lobby bar. No problem getting drinks coffee ect. All in all very nice resort. Big beautiful beech lots places for shade at both beech and pool.
