Premium room, close to beach. Room lovely with plenty of amenities. Staff was fantastic, remembered your name and treated you special. Restaurants top notch. Beach had lots of seaweed when we arrived, but the staff worked non-stop to get rid of it. Bali beds had to be booked by 3 pm for next day. Butler service on Beach was the best. Nancy knew what we wanted before we did. Felt totally safe. We stayed at Secrets Silversands, Excellence, Ocean Suites and Turquesa, but they is our favo [... read more]urite. Great food and staff made the difference.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: A Wonderful Resort

I stayed at the Azul Fives for 5 days. This was an impeccably clean resort. I mean impeccable. They staff was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The only downsides, in my view, were the quality of the beach, construction outside my room, and the low quality of the alcohol. The food quality was good, not terrible but not excellent either. I can recommend this hotel without reservation and would stay there again.

El Dorado Casitas Royale: Not as expected

The grounds are fantastic, so many places to explore, loads of walking paths. The staff went beyond expectations, such great service and so much fun. Restaurants were really good, a good selection of options. But, the buffets were disappointing. Cold foods at the supper buffet. Selection in buffets were disappointing. We loved our room, we had a Casita, our area was really nice and the neighbours were a blast.We never made it to the large pools, enjoyed our area very much.The pools were gr [... read more]eat. The beach was such a disappointment, too rocky for a swim, never mind the huge piles of seaweed which washed up. We were there for 10 days and they were still cleaning it up when we left. We will not be back, but we never go to the same place twice. We would recommend to others, but will warn about what we found.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun: Beautuful Resort

The resort was very beautiful and well run. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in and out was a very smooth and quick. We were greeted with a glass of champagne. It was a pleasant experience. The gardens were very well kept and lush. The beach unfortunately was not very nice with tons of seaweed on shore and unable to swim in the ocean with red tide most days. We did not see anyone in the water. Our room was in the adult section, building two. The room 2423 was very nice. The [... read more] view was beautiful overlooking the pool area and we could see the ocean from our balcony on the 4th floor. Unfortunately the view from our door to the room overlooked a sewage treatment plant. The plant spewed methane gas and the sewage smell was nauseating. We would not recommend staying in this wing of the adult section. The adult pool was limited in lounge chairs and there was no shade after 11 am. It was difficult to get a place for the day unless you woke up at 6:30 am to claim a chair. The food was very good in all the restaurants. Le Chique restaurant was truly a wonderful experience. A definite must if you stay at this hotel. The tours were well planned but we had an unpleasant experience in Playa del Carmen. We were scammed from a vender into buying a necklace that was supposed to be 14K gold and found out it was silver with gold plate. Not what were expecting. Beware of anyone that approaches you saying he is your pool bartender. On a positive note we did like Mexico, the people and our resort.

The grounds were well kept, the resort was beautiful, the a la carte were great but buffet was cold and poor food choices We loved the pool but the beaches were way too much sea weed and not able to get in ocean has was very poor and vpold not even see your feet in there

El Dorado Seaside Suites: Great resort

The service was excellent. Premium alcohol at all the bars. The Food was excellent, and many options. The decor was modern. Tons of nice little touches to make the vacation extra special! Water shoes recommended for the beach, but the Bali beds were a really nice touch.

Azul Beach Resort Negril: Terrific Resort and without the huge crowds

Excellent room, great food options beyond the Huge buffet option for most resorts, beautiful beach and lots of lounges and even many of the large beds. Check out Brandon (lifeguard) on the beach, he is your go to guy, and see Roxanne or Jasmine at the coffee shop (great Americano's) and Laverne at Mahogany. All great folks and great service. My wife had a massage from Claudia and said it was terrific. We will be back. Selection Riviera Cancun: Great Vacation

Traveled as a couple for one week from Toronto. The grounds here are phenomenal, extremely well maintained. We never saw a single bug or anything dirty the entire week. The room was huge 3402 luxury jaccuzzi suite, comfy beds and very clean. A/C was ice cold, although so was the shower water, I had 7 cool showers, and she had about 4 hot ones. probably the 4th floor and timing to blame. Food was good, never went hungry, always some form of chicken, pork and fish. Could have used a bit  [... read more]better veggies, but we did have nice broccoli one day. Breakfast was the best meal, with short lines for the omelet bar and fresh waffles. Fruit was amazingly tasty and fresh, but not much available after breakfast. Resort was large but felt very small because of good locations for everything. Avoided the beach due to seaweed season, but the beach bbq and entertainment was great. Drinks were super fresh, with fresh fruit used in most girly drinks. I rocked strawberry daquiris for 7 days, ask for the better liquor of your choice when ordering. Pools were large and clean, kids were plentiful but never felt that they were all over. we never got to use the adult side due to the towel idiots that come out at 6 am to claim the chairs and don't use them until 3 pm. Kids side was more fun anyways. There was a pizza restaurant on the kids side and ninja turtles galore, kids were having a blast. Not gonna lie, i took a few pics of the turtles in costume running around, im an 80's kid Took the free trip to Playa del Carmen, we recommend if you want to swim on a nice beach and snorkel take this trip and just hit the beach instead of shopping. Sea turtles, sting rays and lots of fish. resort had small to medium iguanas just chilling out by the pool areas, not friendly per se, but we fed a few. We stayed at Secrets Silver Sands next door a few years back and it was amazing as well. if you are doing adults only, i recommend Secrets, but for a 5 star kid friendly place, this was perfect.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Unbelievable experience. Highly Recommend!

The resort is beautiful and exceptionally maintained. Food was incredible. Getting restaurant bookings was easy. Service was exceptional, warm and friendly. Great English speakers. Beautiful pools and a nice beach. The music was actually really nice as well. We stayed in a suite that walked out onto the pool and it was absolutely gorgeous. Mini bar stocked regularly with premium beers, pop and chips. A very classy place.

El Dorado Royale: Amazing Resort & People

I had an absolutely fabulous time. The staff was nice, the hotel was beautiful, the restaurants were great. I was able to obtain beds by the pool every morning (usually got there by 7 am to save our spot). My only complaint about the resort was the beach property really wasn't nice while we were there. There was algae everywhere, and so much we couldn't even enter the water. I was advised of this prior to going by Rebecca my travel agent. This resort has so many restaurants, I believe 10 or 11 in total and only 2 of those require reservations which was amazing. I would definitely go back to this resort and highly recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful vacation.

Resort overall was great. Excellent food and drinks as well as service but, will not return due to tablet being stolen from room. We had only been out of our room for about an hour and security said I would not get it back. Too bad because it was stolen day two of our trip.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Great for kids... terrible for beach lovers

Very poor beach... they have people working around the clock but it is useless and very inefficient (creating illusion they are doing something) Water is full of rocks... ocean lovers, stay away!!!!! Great for kids, our 2 yr old had a blast.

El Dorado Seaside Suites: A great resort

The rooms are amazing. I absolutely loved the shower and bed. The resort could add some more Bali beds as there is not to many. I would also suggest adding some sort of foam to the sun loungers because it was uncomfortable to lay on them. The beach was not to great it had a lot of rocks.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Beautiful resort with amazing staff!

My husband & I spent a week long vacation at the Azul 5 beginning on Easter weekend. It was our second time at the resort. We stayed there last year for a family wedding and enjoyed the resort so much that we decided to return this year. The care and concern of the staff for their guests was apparent from the moment that we arrived at the resort. Our room was upgraded to a pool view suite by Front Desk staff at no additional cost when they saw that my husband was unwell on our arrival.  [... read more]The suite was available to us immediately while the room that we were assigned would not be ready for several hours. My husband greatly appreciated their consideration. The resort itself is beautiful. It is very well laid out with gardens, pools and meandering "rivers" spread throughout the property. There is even a lovely boardwalk trail through a mangrove swamp on the property with spider monkeys, coati and a wild pig inhabiting it. As for restaurants, there are several to choose from with something to suit every taste. You can choose from beach fare (including tacos, burgers & empanadas) to French bistro, Thai, Japanese, Italian, Mediterranean.... or a buffet style restaurant where the cuisine changed daily according to the featured country for that day. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. The beds have pillow top mattresses. The showers are very large. The kitchen had a stocked refrigerator and a coffee pot for making your morning "cuppa" before heading out to the breakfast buffet. The pools are beautiful with plenty of lounges and umbrellas and well-stocked pool side bars. And last, but definitely not least, we would like to say that the staff at the Azul 5 are terrific! They are constantly working, whether on grounds keeping or house keeping or serving tables & bar service... they are always busy! And they are always smiling & polite with a friendly "hola" when passing by. Without such a good staff the resort would not be as pleasant and well maintained. In summary, most definitely we would return to the Azul 5 for a third vacation and we have already recommended the resort to family, friends and co-workers!

Sensatori Resort Punta Cana: Most relaxing and indulgent vacation

Having gotten married at the Sensatori in Mexico, we decided to try the Sensatori in Punta Cana as well. Both resorts are fabulous. The service is amazing for both Sensatori resorts. We booked the honeymoon suite and were not disappointed. It was worth every penny. We were upgraded to the Premium section upon arrival. The suite was beautiful, the bedroom walls opened up to the ocean view. The food at every restaurant was so good. We enjoyed K23 for the 8 course meal experience. W [... read more]ok Wok is Asian fusion and the food was delicious (I'm Asian, trust me in this one). The buffets were delicious, I never got bored going there. Everything was so fresh. If you're a foodie, you won't be disappointed with this Gourmet - Inclusive resort. The beach was well kept and there were always chairs to be found. Book the private cabanas early though, those are in high demand. The loungers around the infinity pools get taken by early morning and don't free up until after lunch each day. The premium section and adults only sections are quiet and always have loungers though. Even though this resort shares property with the Nikelodeon resort, there are so many places to go for adults only if kids aren't your vacation preference. As for entertainment, I really enjoyed the live performances all night every where we turned. The resort hires very talented artists from around the world.

El Dorado Royale: Not bad, not perfect

The hotel is great. The service is also great but the beach is the worst thing for this hotel. Also, we got there for the food (apparently) it was a great place for the food - Culinary experience. Well, I'm not saying it wasn't good but not much restaurant where we could say WOW WOW WOW ! So the culinary experience is what I would called an ordinary food experience. To finish, another thing that is not great is the fact that you keep waiting for the restaurant all the time. Azul Beach Resort Negril: issues with Sunwing

the hotel and everything else was fantastic. Beautiful resort, and would go again, except can only go by Sunwing. We paid for 2 rooms as I went with a friend, ocean view. My view was of the room across from me, no ocean view at all unless I hung over the balcony to see a tiny view. My room was beside the road and I was awakened at all hours by the noisy road. My friend was put in a room 2 hotel blocks away and she had a view of the noisy road. We asked to be moved, no one would move us, but othe [... read more]r people were being moved to better rooms with no issue. I spoke to the Sunwing rep who as well, would do nothing to get us an ocean view, or even close to each other. She was an awful rep for Sunwing, her answer was to put us at another hotel and charge us more. It was not till the 5th day of a 7 day vacation that a manager who was off sick, came back and offered only me a better room away from the road, with a view. I saw no sense in packing to move rooms with only 2 days left. I loved this resort, would really like to go back, but after my treatment by Sunwng, and the awful area our rooms were, I would not travel with Sunwing again, as they have made no attempt to make us want to use them ever again

I can honestly say that there was nothing that I was not happy with. The staff were friendly, the food was excellent, various restaurants, pool and beach was good. The rooms were more than I expected. The entertainment and the bars was excellent.

Selection Riviera Cancun: A Beautiful Resort

We booked this trip to Azul for our 25th anniversary and it was wonderful. We have never been at an all-inclusive resort, so we can't compare, but other travellers were saying it was one of the best they have stayed at. The food was excellent with so many choices and restaurants. The serving staff was fast, hard working and kind. Thank you for your kindness and remembering our favourite drinks, Wendy, the pool drink server. Our room was always clean with surprise dessert treats and towel art! The nightly entertainment was always high quality and fun. The pools were huge and clean. The beach had a lot of seaweed which they have tried to clean endlessly. The resort grounds is beautiful to look at. Transportation was easy and 20 minutes from the airport. Did not enjoy the segregation of prestige members area where we were not allowed to sit. Also it was annoying to see a full practice of claiming a space with towels without being in the cabanas and lounge chairs. The weather was sunny for 7 days but surprisingly windy.

El Dorado Royale: Perfect vacation!

Amazing resort with superb service! we were welcomed anywhere we visited in the resort. It is a relatively big resort but it's easy to go around with the great shuttle service they have. Their great food quality and variety was definitely the highlight of our trip!
