Ocean Vista Azul

Very pleasant. The infinity pool, our quiet room, the live music in the lobby in the evenings. Great beaches and we loved the walk through the woods at the edge of the sea. Had occasion to visit the doctor who was excellent.

The best resort ever

First I would like to thank tammy beamish for recommending this resort we had a fantastic time.The hotel and grounds were the cleanest I have ever seen.The ...food was exceptional ...... roast pigs bbq. beef.lobsters shrimp you couldn't ask for more.the staff was very friendly.The beach was just ok. this is my 3 rd. time to cuba , mexico 4 times. Jamaica once and costa rica and this was by far the best overall resort i have been too.

Great Resort

Kim Hartlen at tripcentral was fantastic! Our hotel room was clean and spacious, the grounds were well kept and the beaches very nice. The pool was very nice as well. The food was not as good as we expected but we were prepared for that. The servers at the main dining hall were friendly and nice especially Yamilet Batista and the bar servers especially Jimmy were excellent. The servers at Mike's made excellent expresso's. Disappointing trip

We went to this resort at the recommendation of our agent. Very disappointing. Our room backed on to the new Iberostar resort being built, so sleeping after 630 am was impossible, since the construction crews start early, and sometimes work all night. The level of cleanliness here is low. I quit drinking out of a glass for reasons I'm not going to get into here, and drank strictly from the plastic glasses. 90% of the staff were very unfriendly, and always acted as if we were bothering them. Wi [... read more]th only one exception at the front desk, (Thanks Laura!) nobody is willing to help. We asked for a coffee maker (which most already had in their rooms) for 3 days in a row. We finally got one and it was broken. We were also told that it's best to exchange our money at the hotel, because they give a better rate. The gave us 67 cents on the dollar, while the neighbouring resorts were paying 73. When I asked about this, the man that works in the bank in the hotel told me if I didn't like the rate, to go somewhere else, and closed the window. It goes on and on. My family and I travel a couple of times a year, and this the second worst vacation we've ever had. On the positive side, the beaches are really nice, although the really nice one is a good walk away from the resort. The pools are beautiful, and the weather was great. The bar pool was fun, and the bartenders there were actually quite friendly. I will never recommend this resort, and, quite possibly this travel company. Hey, you asked.

Fabulous Resort

Fabulous resort.The staff works dillengcy to ensure guests satisfaction. The grounds and buildings are well maintained.The entertainment at night includes musicians that are extremely talented.Easy to access.

Beautiful resort

We thought the Ocean Vista Azul in Veradero was beautiful....clean....well kept and very nicely laid out. Not too large with two beautiful beaches. Would definitly recommend it. The staff were warm and hospitable

Prior to visiting the resort, I was very wary of its quality due to the reviews that I read online. When I arrived I was very pleasantly surprised. The resort is extremely modern, clean, and well kept. I could tell that it was much nicer than some of the neighbouring resorts that have peeling paint, and are quite unattractive on the exterior at least. I would stay at this resort again. Yes, there are some questionable dishes - but I think that this is standard across Cuba. Although there is not a large range of healthy options there is a consistent omelette bar in the mornings, sandwich supplies in the afternoons, and freshly grilled chicken in the evenings. The food was not an issue for me, and no one in my party of seven felt ill from the food. My criticisms of the resort include inconsistent event services and an unclear demographic. I attended this resort with my parents, and 5 of my friends from high school. My friends and I are all in second year university now, and we felt like we were the youngest people on the resort for the entire week. There were not many young children, or seniors. It seemed like most people were from the ages of 30-50 and were couples. However, it was not an overly romantic resort and I didn't feel like I was surrounded by honeymooners. The resorts events were poorly communicated and planned. Each employee in different locations on the resort seemed to have a different idea of where events such as yoga were occurring, only for me to discover after checking all suggested locations that it wasn't happening at all. My mother attempted to attend aqua aerobics multiple times, only for it not to occur. Throughout the week we learned that activities are loosely organized on the beach, and don't have much structure. The resort did have nightly dance shows which were good, and always occurred. Additionally, after our first night on the resort they said that they "banned disco's" and that there would no longer be any music playing in the 24hr beach bar facility in the evenings. Overall, I would highly recommend this resort to people who are looking for a safe, clean, and beautiful place to stay. If you are looking for a social environment, I would not recommend this resort - but it is a great place to relax.

Cet hôtel est ok ,pour cuba c est bien,lobby pas tres confortable ,tres cher pour upgrader une chambre.les chambres sont très propres et le personnel gentil.ont a demander trois fois pour réparer la serrure de notre porte patio au premier étage et personne n est venu La réparer alors ont à dormi avec la porte qui ne se verrouillait pas tout le long de nos vacances.la nourriture est ok mais froide.la plus grande plage est bien avec un bon service.les tours sont bien organiser avec des auto [... read more]bus confortable.pour ce qui est de conseiller cet hôtel ,je dirais aux gens de bien regarder qualité prix avec autres destination.

Amazing Resort

This is a great resort and recommend it to everyone. It's clean, beautiful, great food, friendly staff. Lots of amenities and activities for all ages. The 2 beach locations prevents over crowding on the beach which is great if you head their later in the day.

Even better than last year!

Having enjoyed our week last year, we returned this year. The hotel is every bit as nice as before, only a few signs of wear and tear. The food was above average for a Cuban all-inclusive, and the a la cartes were better than before and easier to get into with the reservation system being revamped. Our room was lovely (the pool view is definitely worth the little bit extra) and even with construction going on at the resort next door it never bothered us. Would go back again in an instant, and recommend it to anyone looking to have fun.

Grounds a general property well kept and clean, music in pool area too loud room service no changing of sheets or pillow cases during our complete stay of 8 days , no first aid station ,not Evan to get one bandad !!

Good resort 1st time to Cuba

We enjoyed the resort.Good staff and very pleased with the effort they put forward to make our stay memorable.Poor service on towel exchange every day.Was always closed or out of towels when trying to exchange a sandy towel for the next day at the beach.Resort was a great design for us to move around at all the amenities.Food was average as it seems is the norm in Cuba.More fresh fruit and salads at the buffet is needed.Think they could network from other buffets at other resorts elsewhere and i [... read more]mprove.Rooms were very clean and staff made sure they remained that way our stay.Great beach,sand and water.This was a good 1st impression of Cuba and look forward to returning

Lovely resort. Nice big and clean rooms. Small issues with lack of towels but nothing we couldn't live with. Love the way that it is laid out. Would love to see a beach dining area on the side of the beach where it meets up with the hotel Naviti. The buffet is not well laid out, very crowded. Also the bread bar is awkward. All the food in the buffet was cold or lukewarm, never hot. We ate at the grill just so we could have hot food. The staff was lovely and accommodating. Loved this resort!

I had a great time at the ocean vista azul! The staff was very professional. The food was good. The rooms were clean and modern. The main beach was a bit hard to find but very nice and lots of chairs were available. The entertainment was excellent at night and good during the day. Not sure if this is good or bad but drinks never tasted the same although they were always good. Cons: it was a bit of a challenge to get fresh towels. Good times

This hotel is beautiful and modern. The grounds are well kept. The staff is professional and friendly. The beach is small for Varadero standards but still amazing. They are building a new huge Iberostar next door slated to open in March 2017. Not sure how congested the beach area will be or if they will then only have one beach (instead of two). Lots of great little spots, around the resort, with lounge chairs and hammocks. The food was good for cuban standards. The food somewhat varied thru the week. Breakfest includes a fresh juice bar. The waitresses were the nicest people on the resort! So friendly! The animation staff was reserved and not the most outgoing. They seem to flock and follow the guests who go regularly. One of them didn't speak or entertain us all week and on our last day she handed me a card asking me to give the amination staff a good review on TripAdvisor! Most of the guests are couples so probably most people don't care as much for animation and entertainment. Mostly couples in their 30s-60s. The nighly shows are often a short 30 minutes ending at 10:30pm. Not much happening after. The theater bar is loud with a few seats. The lobby bar is quiet and closed at midnight. (Although the most charming bartenders are in the lobby!) The other option is the 24 hr snack bar located by the beach which is also their "disco" until 1 am. Be warn, the beds and pillows are terribly uncomfortable and the towels are stained and aren't always available. They don't change the towels daily. On the last day they randomly took one of our blankets away. Even though we had been tipping. The service is random and inconsistent. Good selection of tv channels including CTV and CNN if you want to catch up on news from back at home. Great new resort located close to the town. We enjoyed the hotel so much that we are considering returning again!

Ocean vista azul

New hotel next door is under construction. It can be noisy in the early or late hours of the day. Our pathways are being repaired throughout the resort. Food was very good, lots of selection. Excellent entertainment. Location very good. Rooms very modern and well kept. Service prompt and very polite. Beach great.In all we had a good experience with our stay here.

Great Holiday

The whole resort was kept very clean. The rooms were very modern and clean. The entertainment team were very friendly and fun. We had two days of rain so the team kept us entertained with bingo, games and then a live band. The grounds were kept very nicely and the gardeners were always busy. Because it is their winter in January they are repairing walkways that are cracked, painting steps - keeping the resort in excellent condition. We did not have a coffee maker in our room, but I am sure if we wanted one all we had to do was ask. Food in Cuba can be very bland, but honestly, this was the best food I have had in Cuba. They served a lot of the same stuff every day, but there was a lot of choice and you couldn`t go hungry. All in all I would recommend this resort and would definitely go back there again.

Best Resort yet

We purchased the Privilege Ocean Front Room deal and it was worth every penny spent.We can't give you a good review on the buffet as we only had one breakfast,lunch and dinner there. With the privilege pkge we went to the restaurant "Neptune" specifically for us and the food was amazing.Breakfast had lots of choices but we all had poached eggs as they were done to perfection. Dinner was in the restaurant "Neptune" and we had choices of lobster,chicken,salmon,pork and steak,all of which were amazing.Service was top notch for every meal we had. Infinity pool beautiful looking out over the ocean.Beaches were a bit of a walk to get to but worth it.
