Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Alot of room for improvement

Not very clean rooms, long lineups for food, overcrowded feeling, same food every day. There's no beach left, disappointing. The Nexus rep for westjet was rude and completely unhelpful, couldn't be bothered. Would not book again

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Fantastic

We enjoyed everything about this resort. The staff looked after us always. The food was very good. We will return for sure. The night entertainment was great and we loved the silent disco. We felt very safe,as the security was very good.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Best resort I have stayed at!

The staff was amazing! The rooms and the hotel were so incredibly clean I feel like that's all they did all day was clean it. The abundance of restaurants to choose from was fantastic. I can't say enough about this resort. Usually I stay at a resort and then look for things in the local area to do but at this Resort there were so much to do on it that I only left for one day.

Oceano Palace: Had what we wanted

The main needs of this vacation were beach, sand, pool, drinks, food. This fit the bill as the cheapest, direct flight for both my wife and I from BC and my brother and his wife from SK. A RIU this resort is NOT but we knew that going in. We knew the food would not be great, it isn't in the buffet. It's adequate for one visit maybe two but after that too limited and too repetitive. We chose instead to visit one of the smaller restaurants and either the Luna, Pacific Tower or Star Palace from br [... read more]eakfasts and select one of the dinner options each evening. Through that dining experience which was good we met Ramon. What an exceptionally pleasant, knowledgeable, hardworking and catering man. We asked to use the one dining room that was closed to play cards in. It was hard to find a quiet place to get away for that kind of activity. He said absolutely and turned the lights on for us and even asked us what we would like to drink. He even made the drinks, which were all exceptional, himself. Each evening then we asked for dinner that would take us to Ramon. He gave us special treatment and made us very welcome each evening for dinner and our card games. He served us drinks through the evening even while he was managing the dinners. The last evening he made me a dirty martini that was very excellent. Four olives!! If we were to decide to go here again we would choose the Luna Palace to stay in as it is a bit more laid back, nice pool and quieter. Not fault of the hotel but bands play on the beach and are extremely loud. The hotel was also fully booked with local families and associations or teams so very busy. We never were able to use the main pool but the Pacific pool was a good alternative and we stayed on the beach under a Palapa.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Nice resort

Grounds are nice well taken care of Rooms need some updating outlets need to be working Light fixtures need to be clean Vents need to be dusted Buffay lotta times of food was not very hot and basically the same thing over and over the pool entertainment was excellent. etc. Carla Pepe Kevin DJ they were all great very respectful and very nice.Etc .

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Lovely time!

This was our first time at the Decameron and we went with lower expectations from reading the reviews and we had a lovely time! In our estimation it is a 3.5 star and that's ok if you go in knowing that. Food was good - always able to find something to eat at the buffets. A la carte restaurants were good also and yes the process to get reservations is crazy but we were able to get in to all of them. Room - large rooms- adequate, yes old but comfortable and cleaning staff cleaned well, no elevators in block 4 so lots of stair climbing but quiet block and close to everything. Able to get wifi off and on around complex. New safes in rooms now. Beach- waves were rough and not swimmable, a croc was spotted one day so no swimming that day. Sand beach was slanted so hard to walk on except when low tide was out then flatter. Always able to find a beach chair at the beach. Lifeguards were well trained and worked hard. Loved the sunshine, warmth and relaxing. Activities- enough going on for our older age group but not a young persons vibe. Night shows were good and entertaining- The host did an amazing job speaking in both English and Spanish and was quite humorous. Thoroughly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of staff and guests - met many other couples mostly from Canada. Gorgeous sunsets. Did 3 day trips- PV, Buceries - 30 min walk one way, Sayulita - local bus cost $2.50US each way-30 min ride and was easy to catch and a lovely town to visit. Highly recommend going to Sayulita.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Beautiful resort

Beautiful resort and grounds, super clean, great and helpful staff, Restaurants were very good but not great. Fantastic room service. I would recommend to stay in Preferred club at this resort as you will have an Adults only pool with a lot less noise and a sit down restaurant with full service for breakfast. The shows were not bad and the Fire show was excellent.. This resort has a very limited beach so better for pool people. Dreams Natura Resort and Spa: Extremely Disappointed

We were excited about staying at the Four Diamond Hyatt property and we spent considerable time choosing what we at the time thought would be an outstanding vacation. We could not have been more wrong. The room itself was beautiful; however, the housekeeping was so sporadic that I called the concierge to inquire whether or not the rooms were maintained daily. The food is not 5 star by any stretch of the imagination especially at the buffet. Very limited selection and poor execution. The rest [... read more]aurants were slightly better, if small portions, cold appetizers and small lukewarm entrées are considered “better”. The preferred club food sits out for hours and rarely replenished. Speaking of the preferred club, I would suggest that you do not spend the extra money if you’re travelling with small children. I struggled to see the benefits of it. We received far better service at the hotel concierge than we did in the preferred club. Apathetic service from the desk staff at best. They couldn’t care less about smiling or being pleasant. My wife asked the PC concierge about doing something special for my birthday. She was told the only thing they will do is sing happy birthday at the Italian restaurant, only to find a beautiful set up by the pool for someone else’s birthday. I have pics. Two of the three waterslides were out of service the entire trip. A large section of the pool deck was under construction as well. If we didn’t get up by 6am to put towels down on the chairs we wouldn’t have a place to sit for the remainder of the day. No families allowed in the preferred club area despite the construction. On two separate days, despite a huge section of the pool deck being closed off for repairs, they shut down most of the remaining space for a party and a wedding. Shocking. I had read that the hotel was a “wedding factory” but dismissed these reviews as overreactions. I was wrong. Weddings were constant and the noise was unbearable. The music echoed throughout our room to the point where we had to raise our voices to hear each other. Getting our 6 year old to sleep before 10pm was impossible. On our last night we had the unfortunate experience to have wedding guests screaming profanities into the DJs mic. Yes I complained. No, they didn’t do anything. We were also disappointed to find out that the hotel does not offer a shuttle service to Playa or Cancún, unless you want to spend time in a tequila shop and jewellery store. Don’t get sucked into the “information session” about the vacation club. It’s not an hour and it is a high pressure full court pitch despite what they say. We made the best of it and tried to stay positive, but we would never go back to this resort or any other Dream property.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Worth the Visit

The pools and atmosphere were incredible - the entertainment team truly makes your stay memorable. The beach was beautiful especially at sunrise and the pools were very well maintained. The bars were able to meet everyone's needs- although a little under staffed. Alacartes- We were not able to book our alacartes due to technical issues which when brought to the managers attention was dismissed Rooms- The rooms were clean- many little ants though Safety- We had two occurrences during [... read more] our visit that would cause me to state to block your door at night -one 2 maintaince men entered our daughters room without knocking at 10:30 pm for a service that was not requested - when I brought this to the managers attention they did look into it thoroughly- and followed up with a call two days later. However the night after the call someone after 11 pm did try to attempt to enter this room again - It mkase you go hmmm

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: A good resort

Great resort, food, room, staff all are great the negative feedback is that this resort is geared towards parents with young kids not our age range and the entertainment was not great and finally they should invest into more beach chairs for the beach the reason for the poor rating for the pool if you want a chair by the pool get up at 5 to put a towel on a chair and the beach no empty chairs neither

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Fantastic Resort

Great hotel. Very well maintained by a friendly staff, with very nice rooms. The grounds were spectacular with peacocks, flamingos, iguanas and coatis roaming around and entertaining us. The a la Carte restaurant food was great and the buffet was well above average. Lots of pool side entertainment and a great beach as well. You will stay in shape walking as it is a long way from lobby to pools and beach.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: We are fussy about recommending this hotel

If you want a giant anonymous hotel; this is not for you. If you want an adults-only party hotel; you would be better elsewhere. If you like a medium-small hotel, where friendly guests and staff both come back year after year; we might recommend this hotel. If you like to walk into the water directly in front of the hotel, where you can snorkel in a protected bay surrounded by fish; we highly recommend this hotel. We follow our own advice, we have stayed here roughly 20 times. The la [... read more]rge buffet serves sufficiently tasty and varied food that we seldom try the specialty restaurants, although you should do that. A late afternoon snack of freshly prepared sushi is our particular treat. Live bands perform nightly in the main bar lounge, with a focus on the 70's thru 90's era. All rooms fully face the ocean, and the groundfloor patio rooms offer shade, close access to the small infinity pools, Bali beds, and garden/pool/beach bars.Twice a week, a marine biologist working on the activity staff delivers a fascinating "Turtle Talk" that should not be missed. The resort is 95 kilometers from the airport, so be prepared for a van ride of at least 90 minutes, usually slightly more as the van often makes stops along the way to let off guests at two or three other hotels along the way. As of early 2024, the hotel is undergoing a full renovation, in stages, expected to last an entire year. Consequently, a number of rooms are out of service, and the chance of a room upgrade to the top floor penthouse rooms is quite high. A sneak peak of the new rooms looked great, with a lot of wood character, and additional privacy in the bathroom area.

Decameron La Marina: Enjoyable trip

Very clean, rooms , dining areas clean , pool and bars too. Very hospitable friendly staff. Helpful and eager to help when needed. We also liked the sister hotel los cocos that we could visit as well. Positive experience meeting many visiting mexican tourists from various parts of Mexico. Beach area was great . Liked the hotel backed on to a town that we could explore and shop and experience the culture .. would go back !!

Riu Santa Fe: 4 star all the way!

Comes as advertised. Super clean. Plenty of food choices for even the picky eaters. It would be nice if my kids weren't offered drugs every time they walk towards the beach. Kind of annoying to have the human seagulls just sitting there waiting for you.

Seadust Cancun Beach Resort: Great for families

An excellent choice for families with small kids. The kids had a blast at the waterpark and enjoyed the smaller kids pool by the main pool. We also really enjoyed the room service option for food especially the breakfast. Shows were great in the evening and as a family with young kids we liked they started early at 7.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Very nice resort

Over all I would give the resort a 4 plus , nice beach , clean rooms , good meals and very good service. Only issue we had was room service twice and meals were cold. Air Transat flight airbus 320 sucked knees against the seat in front, no snacks , bottle water if you wanted to pay otherwise a 2oz paper cup once during the flight.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Good hotel

Overall great experience until after 1100 pm Became Noisey in hallways due to unruley guests. Room next to us was loud until 4:30 a.m. made 4 complaints to front desk and security. They did little to resolve noise issues. With noisey room, no offer to move them or us was made, only told us to call security. Security did show up 2 times, but as soon as they left it continued. In all years of travelling, including 2 previous trip to this resort have never had to sleep with earplugs and  [... read more]still awakened. Very disappointing. It was our last trip there.

Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan Beach Resort: Nice and Relaxed

The Food was really good and instead of running buffé they have a couple of no reservation needed restaurants and also an Italian where reservations are needed. 2 Pool areas both fairly quiet, If you are looking for a party tyoe resort this is not the place, nobody bugging for Timeshares or anything which we appreciated. Gym was really small, but okay since I seemed to be the only one using it. Overall a really good experience, went to the bigger resort where you also have access, huge and did n [... read more]ot care for it at all even though most people may like this style better. Non Alcoholic beer Heniken Zero they had up until the last day, when they started to say it was not included in the all inclusive package, when I explained I had been deinking the same all week long, and was not charged additionally anyways. I would go back as I prefer the smaller style resort.

Riu Yucatan: Nice place

Beach is really nice and big great for swimming, unfortunately if you want a chair on beach get up early. I was going down at 6 am to get good location. Pool is nice swim up is small very crowded there is a quiet pool also. They have smoking areas that most people will use but there’s always so inconsiderate smokers. There not supposed to smoke on balcony. Room needs updating very small in closed toilet room, small shower and one sink but enough counter space. Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Fantastic Resort

Very nice resort. The food was delicious, rooms were clean and the staff were very friendly. The snorkeling was phenomenal, we seen stingrays, turtles and many other sea creatures. We will be going back for sure.
