Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Laguna Azul Hotel in Cuba Varadero

Unfortunately very upset lots of deficiencies, patio door didn't lock jammed water stains in the bedroom, bugs crawling, the upkeep of the hotel was very neglected, from the 6 months we had already visited this year in April 2017 seems they are letting the facility run down, probably the storm didn't help requested 3 times on 3 different occasions, always had to fight to get a decent room, Mattresses need major change basically sleeping on a box spring, very hard and sore back, Entertainment w [... read more]as Awesome, food was Awesome, great choices, water was very choppy, lots of poor palm trees cut, I really think the Iberostar is letting this facility run down to the grounds, lots of things from our last visit haven't been fixed, handles missing Poor beds, needs major renovations, tables wabbling, paint missing, sad itws a great place, Awesome location, I really think in April 2017 going to visit another Island instead of Cuba

Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Awesome resort with wonderful guest to service ratio!

The View and exclusiveness of the resort was unparalleled. great open areas and many activities to choose from. lots of day trip opportunities as well from the location. if anything was questionable it would be the French restaurant and the room features. although the rooms were nice and clean they were less than a 5 star expectation. the rooms were just 'ok' in size and features. storage in the rooms was minimal and the bathroom was par only. overall the resort showed good value

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Great Resort.Very New and Modern

Loved the Hotel except for the nightlife.Not a great kids resort at nighttime.Great Beaches and service was excellent.Food the same as any other hotel there.Recommend the restaurants in Varadero or Havana. Maids and staff were impeccable.Cuba is a clean and friendly place to visit.Very safe!! Walk the streets with the family at night with no problems.Another thing is that the pool and Bars except the lobby aren't open at night.The shows are amazing but start at 9:30pm. Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Food just OK but pool and staff were pretty good

I'll mention the bad first. We had some trouble getting used to the food, we were expecting better but we found some things that were OK each day and we ate those but also the serving staff were not really very attentive. Don't come here for the food. Three of the 4 elevators werent working but the buildings are only 5 stories high and the lobby is at floor 3 so its not a big problem. Many of the staff especially the young ones were very helpfull and enthusiastic, some of the older ones not so [... read more] much. As for the drinks they sometimes used flat pop so I only got pop based drinks from the places with the machines but that includes the beach bar so that was good. Now the good, The pool and swim up bar are great and they have a nice beach. we played beach volleyball everyday and the animation groups was very nice. Ping pong was also fun but dont count on beating the attendant, he's very good. The standard rooms are nice and comfy but the suites are great, and they are not too expensive , they are a few hundred more per week Overall we enjoyed the stay and the price was right But this doesnt really compare to a four star in mexico or dominican republic or really anywhere else.

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great Resort

Beautiful Resort. Staff is very friendly and go out of way to give great service. Very well maintained. Food is average. Speciality restaurant we book Mediterranean and Japanese and both were good. Beautiful long beech with white sand.

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Great value vacation!

Pros: 1) Updated, cool, clean, comfortable rooms. 2) Free decent Wi-Fi throughout the resort (Bravo - our connected society appreciates Iberostars progressive approach with free wifi) 3) Crazy wonderful, lush wildlife jungle setting. 4)Fantastic beach 5) Shaded palapas everywhere 6)Great location to PDC. 7) Excellent beach bar service (Diana) 8) Excellent room features, charging ports in wall plug, phone also was equipped with android cable, iphone lightening, old school apple charger, [... read more] and soeaker charger. 9) Snacks, well stocked fridge, and room service. 10 Excellent hospitality throughout Cons: 1) They sold out the beachfront on Quetzal side. No swimming on Quetzal side - closer to use RIU Yucatans ocean front to swim than to walk over to Tucan. Sold out a HUGE portion to jet ski, parasail, diver center, and snorkelling boats businesses. SHAME!!! Cut their area 75% and rope off boat lane - nothing was marked. 2) Smoking everywhere....disgusting while eating, or on a hot beach. Need a non smoking area....get with the times. Sandos next door has non smoking enforced areas. 3) Food got redundant (was plentiful, and tasty, but never changed much.) 4) Room service should change their times so it's available when restaurants are closed. (Late night early mornings) 5) Fish ponds surrounding buffets were filthy swamp pond scum that desperately needed cleaning the green algae 6) Blown speakers and super loud music in beach buffet....

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Very nice resort

My friend and myself were there for one week. We marvelled at the cleanliness of the hotel in general. The food was superb with enough varieties to please everyone. The staff were amazing, always smiling and happy to Be of help all the time. The chambermaid made beautiful towel sculpture everyday on our beds and kept the room spotless. We were surprised to find a bottle of bubbly, a cake the night of my friend's birthday. A plate with different fruits was also placed in our room. Iberostar Selection Varadero: Amazing location

This is a very beautiful resort, Got off the bus and was greeted with warm and friendly smiles, got to the check-in counter and more smiles and comforting greetings, process was a breeze they knew we were coming and everything was prepared, with drinks in hand we were escorted to our room, which was very inviting and spacious. Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Fantastic Resort

Grounds immaculate and well maintained Food excellent and wide variety Outside Tours (went on one ) excellent Staff just super Entertainment Good Super resort worthy of trip advisor (#1 out of 40 hotels) in Puerto Plata. On our way passed by other resort which seemed not up to par to Iberostar Don't think the resort was 100% according to the no of people in the buffet. Other specialty restaurants available

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good resort could use some upgrades.

This is another good iberostar property. It is not too big to walk around and the grounds are clean and the gardens are beautiful. The rooms are very nice and roomy and have a shower and a tub, they are cleaned everyday and the bar is stocked every two days. There is a coffee maker and hair dryer and we had an iron and ironing board. The beach is beautiful and the staff is great. We went to the romantic, Italian and Japanese restaurants and they were good and were worth booking however the buffe [... read more]t was the same everyday, there was no salads and no fresh fruit to eat, however I know this going to Cuba. What I did not expect was my husband and I coming home from our trip with viruses and put on medication and sick as dogs. While we were at the resort at least five people with our group got sick and had to see the doctor and didn’t even leave there room the whole week. I believe it must have been from the buffet. If we didn’t get sick this would be a very nice resort, so unfortunately for that reason I wouldn’t recommend it.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Paradise on land

The most beautiful place I've ever seen. The staff go over and beyond to make sure your stay is all it can be. Kind, helpful and always smiling. A big thank you to Katherine in public relations Fabiola in guest services and Iris, Billy and Carlos from the buffet and last but not least our butlers Yonattan and Hernandez who treated us like royalty. A must see resort. Will definitely be returning.

Iberostar Selection Cancun: Amazing and Beautiful Resort!

When we first got there we walked into the lobby and was amazing by the beautiful tall ceilings and the decorations/flowers. We were then greeted with very refreshing and delicious drinks. We were a bit early (arrived around 1 pm) and checking in is at 3 but we got our rooms anyway. After we got our room keys there was also options to book for dinner as well. The end of the pool was the best as it dropped off making it look like we were at the beach. Staff is very friendly and kind. Always making sure everything was good and that you were good on drinks. Best restaurant would be the steak house as it was the best steak we had ever had. The rib eye was to die for. It was so tender and juicy even when I ordered it Medium. The room service food was not good but the buffet has many options and was good. Hotel area was always clean and there were workers always present anf making sure everything was up to standard. There were shows everynight by Star Friends. They were amazing and very entertaining. They were also around during the day doing activites as well. David from Star Friends was very helpful and very friendly. Had a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation!

Everything was great! The food, service, rooms exceeded our expectations. The entertainment team was excellent during the day and the evening show. The buffet and restaurants were very good. We will return!

If you’re looking for a great all inclusive vacation, this resort is awesome. Great staff, clean, nice facilities. As a typical Cuba goer, the great food really does make a difference. The food was amazing! Japanese Restaurant is awesome (my family doesn’t even like Japense and they loved it). This resort is the last resort at the end of the beach and there is a Jamaican ‘market’ right beside and they come on the beach they 5pm. Beach is nice but doesn’t compare to a Cuba beach. Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Very nice resort

Iberostar Paraiso Lindo is lovely. The food, grounds are lovely, staff are extremely helpful. However, the superior standard room was a disappointment. There were 3 adults in this booking. Our agent thought the superior room was a larger room. However, that was not the case. The resort told us that the "superior" was due to the ideal central location, not a room upgrade. The room was an older basic room. We needed a repairman for the safe and the door lock. We also had the coffee bar a [... read more]rea sprayed for very tiny bugs. Recommend the hotel but get a room "upgrade" I enjoyed the gym, and surprised by the superior quality of the gym classes. Their staff were obviously very knowledgeable and experienced trainers. We wanted to use the spa facilities, but ran out of time. Lots to offer there, but pricey. Also the entertainment staff were wonderful, especially Moises. The evening shows were superior, as well as the daily activities.

There were four persons in our party and we all agreed that this resort was one of the best we have stayed in. This was our first time at an Iberostar Resort, and plan to make it one of our regular locations (I assume the others are just as great). Although it rained a few times, we still had a tremendous time - there was so much to do - the beach was amazing but even more so, we lost count of all the pools and the water features throughout - we applaud the architects / designers etc.for such an appealing plan...We were in Rooms 5269 and 5273, and our housekeeping staff (Frances) was outstanding - our rooms were always impeccable. I want to especially congratulate and thank the 2 concierge at our building - Julie and Karen - always cheerful, very professional, friendly and extremely helpful (what a joy to be greeted by such pleasant ladies who obviously loved what they were doing and made us feel welcomed and cared for. Julie even called a pharmacy off the resort to get some medication for me - they did not have it on site - had it delivered and brought to me ---thank you, thank you. The entire resort was fantastic, but Julie and Karen went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay memorable and enjoyable - and because of them, we plan to return as soon as we can. Our thanks as well to all the staff at the resort - obviously well trained, organized, friendly and helpful.. Iberostar Selection Playa Mita: Good resort

The resort was nice. Food was ok. Didn't like that I had to take an elevator to get to the beach. Not enough going on for kids. They had a kids club but more geared to little ones. My kids being 8 and 10 were bored by day 3. Rooms where clean, service was great. People were great. Also didn't like that the rooms didn't have a dresser clothes everywhere for a week.

We went for a wedding and it was amazing! The food and entertainment were great. We paid extra for an ocean view and got the same view as the rest of our party which was a rip off. But would definitely go back
