Riu Reggae: Meh

The hotel was fine but our vacation was not the best basically spent 2 days in our room because of flooding then the only options we had to go to were riu ochos rios and negril but both resorts were not adults only and they were overcrowded/to big. We could have stayed at the reggae but everything took so many days to clean up it would of made the trip worse. Overall trip satisfaction 4/10

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Good resort

Overall a good experience, considering this is an adult only resort, we were hoping and expecting late night pool/beach parties which were not there. The pool closed at 6pm and after that, you are either at the beach until it's dark or in the nightclub type area sitting and drinking. Theres def a focus required on evening events.

Riu Republica: Great Resort!

Very new, clean, big resort with great food and entertainment. A new section opened while we there that included a water slides area and 2 other pools. Lots of pools to choose from and no trouble finding areas to sit with a large group.

Riu Negril: Amazing Resort

My family and I returned from our vacation at the Riu Negril on November 17, 2017, having spent 1 week there. Our family consisted of 4 adults, two young children ( 4 & 6) and an infant (13 months). Our flight was to arrive in Montego Bay at 2:35 pm, but the afternoon prior to departure Sunwing revised the departure time to 4:00pm. We then arrived in Montego Bay after 8:00pm so we did not arrive at the resort at 9:45pm. The next morning we were able to experience the resort and found it to be [... read more] lovely. The beach was beautiful, clean, sandy, and wonderful to swim and snorkel in. The hotel staff cleaned the beach every morning and there were ample lounge chairs for everyone. The water-sports included paddle boarding, sailing, kayaking, paddle boats, to name a few. The food was excellent. This included the buffet restaurants and the A la carts. The wait times were not long for the A la carts. A few of the A la carts were occasionally closed throughout the week due to wedding receptions being held in them. All the bars had quick friendly service . The Jerk chicken hut at the beach was an excellent spot for lunch. Our rooms were spacious, clean and we had prompt maid service every day.Wi-fi was available 24/7 in the entire resort including our rooms and at the beach. We stayed in Bldg 3 and it had a lovely pool adjacent to it and it was nicely away from the hub of the entertainment. All the staff were very helpful and went out of their way to see that all our needs were met. Is this a 5 Star resort? I definitely think so.

Riu Republica: Great stay

Pros- New, Clean, Modern, Friendly staff, Great Buffet. Good club. Lots to do. Wicked beach. Cons- Day time entertainment is repetitive and can be too vulgar -Night time entertainment is complete opposite, more suited for old timers. -Overserving— people falling in pool area or having to be wheel chair escorted back to room -Mid way through our trip resort expanded, restaurants closed instead of 7days wk -Intermittant water issues That being said overall great trip and would s [... read more]tay here again!

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Great Experience

My wife and I needed a relaxing getaway after a hectic spring and summer. This hotel was an unexpected delight. It was spotlessly clean. The food was first class, especially Kristal and Tokio - well presented and prepared. Buffet was very expansive and high quality. Bar stock was good quality brands - even the house wines were good quality (mostly Chilean). Staff was always happy & pleasant and accommodating. Room delightful and very clean, if a little musty (humid tropical climate) with a big balcony, well stocked fridge and a comfortable bed. Did not replace soap bar daily, but not a huge deal. We were on 3rd floor in south wing with a pool view, on the opposite side from the nightly entertainment venue, but it was very quiet, even at night. We would highly recommend this resort.

Riu Palace Antillas: Riu Palace Aruba is a great place for the family

Overall the hotel is great. excellent service and staff. the grounds/rooms are clean and well maintained. the food and restaurants are well above average for an all-inclusive, especially the buffet (we usually aren't big fans) changing the variety daily. the proximity of the hotel for walking the beach/boardwalk to see the shops and various beach bars is perfect. Also for walking down the street to the shops, restaurants and coffee shops at night. very safe. $11 taxi ride to downtown Oranjesta [... read more]d but the area near the hotel is better. great nightlife. beach is beautiful and clean. the island is safe to explore. we rented a jeep and toured the entire island on our own. on the downside is the lack of quality beer and alcohol. only one type of beer. the hot tub in the pool was broken the entire week. The one pool table in the sports bar was also out of order all week and the second pool table wasn't working for the last part of the week with no repair date set (we asked). overall we had a great time and would recommend Aruba and Riu Palace to everyone.

Riu Flamingos: We give it 2 stars

We have stayed at RIU HOTELS 7 times in the last 5 yrs. Don't get us wrong it is a beautiful resort. Our problem is with customer service, I am writing this while we are still at the resort. On Monday night our night of arrival the stair lights were out and we had 4 flights of stairs to walk up. On 8Thursday night we went down for dinner only to find the lights out again. This time I fell down hurting my back in pure darkness. We made our way to the front desk to make them aware. The lady asked  [... read more]if I was okay. I told her it was sore and they offered to call a Dr. Was told the cost would be a $100.00 to see the dr. We told them it was because the lights were out, they were gracious enough to offer us $20.00 off the cost of seeing the dr. There has not been one call or knock on the door to see how I am doing. Loved staying at the RIU's but this is our last time as we now see them as wanting your money and not a care at all about your health. When we checked in with the SUNWING rep regarding our flight home, we told her about the incident. She got right up and took us over to the Public Relations lady for the resort only to be told the same thing $20.00 off to see the dr. Kudos to SUNWING for this rep, She called us later stating she would issue us some vouchers from SUNWING as she felt RIU was not doing anything On another note someone had thrown up out a second floor window on the stairway that was there Monday night and was cleaned up Friday morning. This is the only RIU resort where we have noticed the reuse of food, last night chicken in the Italian ala carte restaurant is being served for lunch in the buffet restaurant. They allow locals to come in and use all facilities making it extremely busy,and they all get treated differently then the guest. The line can be busy at bar,but they are looked after first. On Sunday it was packed with them and the pool entertainment didn't even bother speaking in English. They allowed kids and babies in the adult pool, the babies not wearing diapers and kids jumping everywhere. Talked to a lot of other guest and their main compliant was AIR CONDITIONING not working and not being able to get another room for 4 days,and it was super hot there

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Fantastic experience

The recent renovations left us feeling very satisfied. The staff was incredible and Lyndon (breakfast server) was an absolute ray of sunshine. My only issue was the shuttle bus took us the “scenic route” which was an additional 30 min. After flying for a number of hours, I don’t want the scenic tour. This was very aggravating.

Riu Republica: Fantastic resort.

Stayed at the Riu Republica November 12 thru November 19 2017. Very modern resort with great concept for the night show. Seating in theatre extends out into large seating area adjacent to large bar. All guests have opportunity to watch the show and i would estimate 500 people plus must be in attendance each night. Great beach long and wide. Lots of shade and lots of beds. Ocean was a little rough with big waves although I'm sure not like that all the time. Animation staff are the best I  [... read more]have seen. The leader " bugs bunny" has unbelievable energy and runs his crew from early morning to late at night. Food at buffet was plentiful and very good. Restaurants were all a mixture of a la carte and buffet. Lots of different options. Republica 1 opened up the day before we left. More restaurants pools and waterslides . Great rooms lots of space. Very attentive staff at restaurants and lobby area.

Riu Vallarta: Beautiful beach & delicious food!!

This resort was overall a great place. The rooms could definitely use an upgrade. We had to switch because on the main level the room smelled very musky but when we went to the 4th floor all was good! There's wifi throughout the resort unless you're on a high floor. Food was amazing!!! The beach was breathtaking, but be careful because my friend stepped on a sting ray at night by accident and it cost her $400 for the medication to heal it. All around we had a great group vaca!

Riu Reggae: Great fun clean resort

I found the staff in all areas of this resort to be giving it their all !!! The food and drinks were good quality and plentiful we throughly enjoyed ourselves Sunwing flight times need improvement but had a awesome time anyways!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: amazing service

I love the service at the hotel, people are nice and welcoming. There are some feature restaurants that you need to line up because they have only 40 spots at a time starting at 6:30pm. And it is first time first served. But you can register the second round (7:30 or 8:30) if you were at the line and missed the first round. The steak house was very good. I highly recommend trying the lobster there. And the bar is very nice, it is always packed at night. Riu is right next to the Atlantics, 2mi [... read more]ns walk to the beach tower of the Atlantics. You get walk in there and try the casino, the water park etc. in Atlantics. What I don't like about Riu is that the elevator was not functioning very well. And when we first arrived, there was some electricity problem for the whole hotel. We did not have access to the wifi username and password util the next day.

Riu Republica: had an awesome time!

Hotel was great! The room was very nice. The ocean view from the room was great. it was so relaxing to sit out on the balcony and watch the world go by. Tons of fun at the swim up pool bar! The food was good (some restaurants were better than others, but that's a personal food choice). the beach was awesome!

Riu Santa Fe: Wonderful Resort

Hotel was very nice and very nice people working there. The a la carts were a little strange as you could not book ahead and most nights could not get in. Beach is beautiful but you cannot swim there.

Riu Emerald Bay: Fabulous

For people like us who love a bit of rough surf - this is the perfect spot - also great if you just want boozing & soaking in one of the pools. Great variety of food plus very comfortable & clean room.

Riu Santa Fe: Very nice resort

The grounds are very well kept and were in great condition . The layout is big but very easy to get around and everything is laid out well . We stayed in building 2 and I thought this was a good location because it was not a lot of foot traffic in front of our room and we were closest to the beach and the main entertainment area and and not subject to any noise.

Riu Ocho Rios: Disappointing Resort

Both my husband and myself have been to this resort in the past and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Enjoying five star service, food, people, grounds, etc. Hence, the reason why I recommended this to my friend! WHAT a MISTAKE. This resort is outdated. Attitudes of staff poor The only redeeming feature were the grounds! DIsappointed!!!

Riu Palace Las Americas: Great vacation in Cancun

I really enjoyed my vacation in Cancun and it all started with an amazing stay at the Riu Palace Las Americas. Everything from the staff, the beach, the food & the location was perfect. I recommend it to anyone seeking a nice relaxing stay in Mexico.

Riu Reggae: Riu Raggae Mo Bay

Awesome!!! Great staff. Great food. Very clean and with access to the Riu Montego Bay its the best of both worlds. My first stay at a Riu and I will specifically look for one every where we travel. If you go, make sure you hit the Jerk Hut!
