Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing resort

Yes the best, I have to say never seen a Hotel like Dhawa in Cuba, it's so clean spotless, all the services on the beach very attentive, helping you out with the chairs and clean them, the animation the best Lacci, Tania, Junie, teaching how to workout in the beach, and the pool, stretching twice a day, the food is good, should be more servant in the buffet, the juice drinks could be set up on ice in a closed window all sorted out, so flies don't get to it, or the lady doesn't have to squeeze g [... read more]lass by glass, to create a line up, she could be serving or cleaning the table, overall, the shows in the theatre just beautiful, the disco the same, and the entertainment every night was fun, dancing and karaoke. I would go again.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome Resort

We stayed at this Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria for 11 days and it was one of the best vacations I ever had. Had so much fun and met so many great people Very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms. Received clean towels daily and our fridge was filled with water,pop and beer every day The staff was amazing. Very friendly and always wanting to please you. Had wonderful conversations with them. Staff had a few games around the pool for both adults and kids. The beach was private and beautiful. Staff were always coming around to ask if you would like something to eat or drink from the beach bar. Motorized sports were available to use with no fee. The food was ok. I had my franks hot sauce with me and it went on everything. I just found it to be repetitive every day. Ask for Daniel at breakfast. He will make you an awesome omelet. Sports bar was opened 24 hrs. We had many chicken tenders from there. All in all it was an amazing vacation and I give this resort 2 thumbs up. I will recommend this to anyone. Can't wait to go back. Hopefully next year.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Second time and loved it even more!!

I honestly cannot say enough great things about this hotel! The number one reason I returned was because of the staff..... there were many and they couldn't do enough to please you or put a smile on your face. From reception to cleaning to bar and beach staff!! Second the hotel is new therefore well maintained and clean. The variety was amazing and everything was cooked great and hot. Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort

Plus , great Service , large Rooms , very good Beach good variety of food Minus , one of the walkways to the beach has broken planks and several broken railings , allowing People with Bathing Suite into the Dinning Room , not acceptable in my view ,

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Fantastic Resort but Never book through Hola Sun....

April 29 - May 6....was the plan.....This resort was beautiful and the staff were fantastic. The food was actually very good by any standards, the best in Cuba . We ate mostly at the a la carte and they were all good (Origami was the best). The beach was very nice and not overly busy. We could always find a pergola for shade. The Animation team was excellent, friendly and kept everyone engaged. NOW FOR THE BAD NEWS...Unfortunately we were delayed in Toronto due to "The" Airline Captain being sick so the airplane was delayed 17 hours. We had absolutely NO explanation from Hola Sun. They sent a third party company to deal with all of us. They just kept telling us we would be compensated for missing our time in Cuba... Now 5 weeks later I received a cheque for $55...a ridiculous insult....even after pushing back saying it cost me more than that per day and we only received 6 of the 7 days we paid for. I guess they never want my business again. We put absolutely no blame on the Resort and would highly recommend it as a vacation destiny...just DO NOT BOOK THROUGH HOLA SUN.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Amazing first trip to Cuba Best resort ever

The resort was well kept in every way - very clean - great gardens Best waiters and staff ever - lots of different entertainment for every one Lots of handshakes - hugs - laughter Friendly people and staff around at all times Food was better than expected Ocean was the cleanest ever seen Will return to Cuba for sure and to this resort for sure Spoke to several people who were at the resort for the 3rd or 4th time that says it all

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Great Beach

Nice Resort, perfectly maintained pool, Great Staff always friendly and willing to help, Beautiful Beach, and not the worst food (The buffet is actually better than the restaurant). I would definitely recommend this resort to a friend.

Memories Paraiso: Great beach and ocean

We decided this year to try something new and go to Cayo Santa Maria. Also, I lowered my personal level of decent expectations at the level " if the weather, the beach , the ocean are great and if we make it home alive at the end, that was a great vacation". So, if I am judging by these criteria, it was a great vacation. As a surprise for my girlfriend , I bought a " diamond club pack" to ensure a ocean view and a bit of extra comfort. Next to the ocean, beautiful ocean view that I was expecting and that was what I've got. 4170 was the number of our room. Broken light fixture over the vanity ,broken vanity, no flush toilet , difficult to use tub faucet, antique TV set which was asking from time to time to pay for view ?! , dirty walls ( a coat of white primer was the easiest fix), defective balcony door hard to open and close,defective wardrobe doors, almost impossible to open. Mr Frank took note of alll above and that's it. Nobody came to fix the issues , I never asked too. We had a a amazing Ana as a cleaning lady, she took care of the room, she did her best,and we appreciate it. We were there for ocean and the great beach and that was more important , not the room . Now about the food, is amazing how they could waist such large amounts of food without being able to create a decent meal. But we managed to eat and go back home only with minor stomach problem. At the buffet there is a " diamond club zone" , suppose to be only for the people who paid for. It was not, usually Latino people WITHOUT resort bracelets , very very noisy. I asked who they are and the answer came from the bar guy, " people of Venezuela, dear friends of Cuban people" . Anyway , was not my busyness , I was there for good weather, nice beach and ocean. Did I paid extra money for a Diamond club hoax? Yes! Except the ocean view, the rest is just a hoax. The cherry on the cake came in the last day when having my coffe in the morning I discovered in my mouth , kitchen bugs, cockroaches!!! At the bottom of my coffee cup , anatomical parts of cockroaches. Legs, wings,heads etc. It was too much and I had a little talk to the guy who was in charge at the buffet that day. Didn't look like to affect him , all his crew they came to look in too my cup, some were embarrassed,some were just amused. I took it easy, my girlfriend didn't. And that's it. We make it home alive, was a good vacation . I'm going back? No! Will buy again Diamond club ? No! Recommend it? Yes for the beach and ocean , no for the resort.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely Resort!

Playa is a beautiful expansive resort with charming gardens. There are several pools including a serenity pool my personal favourite. The beach is great and has lots of shade pavilions. You can walk out into the ocean forever and the bottom is soft white sand. Lots of food choices, really liked the Italian restaurant and the pizzas at the snack bar. Customer Service was awesome!

Roc Lagunas del Mar: Very disappointed

Hello My wife and I just returned from our trip to the Warwick in Cuba Santa Maria. We wanted to express to you our trip experiences, this being our 10th Cuba trip. Our trip stared with the flight from Toronto being delayed for 2 1/2 hours. The room was fine, but after 2 coffee makers still no coffee for the remainder of our stay. The room also did not have any drawers for unpacking things. The food was not very good and the Fusion restaurant was inedible. There was very little selec [... read more]tion in the buffet and it was rarely hot. The resort was unclean with cups and plates in and around the pool for days at a time. Cots and dirty dishes remained in the hallways for the entire trip. The pools were green and full of sand. Cleaning and chlorine were definitely not a priority. The showers around the pool did not work. Resort Management were not around leaving it unattended. Music at the pool was abnormally loud even when the entertainment staff were not working. The theatre was closed the entire vacation for renovations. Other guests at the resort had the very same complaints. Check in when leaving was a good experience, but the seat on the bus to the plane was wet causing our clothing to be wet for the plane ride home. We would definitely not recommend the Warwick to anyone and were very disappointed with this holiday. Cuba has never been an issue and the resorts (9 previous) have always been a good choice until this one. My wife has had stomach issues the last 2 days and continues to have them. Valentin Perla Blanca: Superb Resort

This was a fantastic place to vacation. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff were incredibly courteous and friendly. The a la carte food was great. Entertainment was incredible....lounged by the pool and watched a beautiful synchronized swimming show. Lots to do whether its quiet relaxing or activities. The resorts entertainment team is always going. A little bit of a ways from the airport....but well worth it!!

Overall resort is good and staff as well. New lobby and rooms clean and all works well. Gym is small but ok. They had half resort closed so only one pool and it was party time at 4 - so a bit annoying. Also way TOO few cabanas on the beach. Could not get any shade at anytime so makes beach unusable. Food was good for cuba. Lots of choice. Overall 7 out of 10

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Fabulous beach and much more

We booked this place for a girls trip / long weekend (3 nights, 4 days) and definitely wished we could have stayed longer! Excellent value for the cost. Most beautiful beaches with tons of loungers and shade options. Staff was extra wonderful, friendly, happy and always willing to help. Lots of choices for decent food but then again no one goes to Cuba for the food expecting exceptional fine dining options. All a cartes and buffet are air conditioned which was a nice bonus. Great spa, entertainm [... read more]ent staff and shows, ice cream bar and lots of bars offering great drinks everywhere. Had a fabulous time and will surely go back. No single supplement which enabled a few of us to have own room - nice break! travel to hotel is 1.5 hours but enjoyable drive seeing the area and local towns.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort

The resort was great overall. Food, beach, room and service was good. Too many mosquitoes (day and especially night time). Even bug spray doesn't keep them at bay. Love placement of building # 5. Preferred the Ocean Del Mar but still a very good resort

Valentin Perla Blanca: Beautiful Beach

I went with my boyfriend at the end of May. The resort itself is nice- rooms are fairly new and clean. The pools were beautiful and the beach was out of this world. Be careful though as we fuond some jelly fish (lots of starfish too)- some people ended up getting stung. It was a slower time, so half of the resort was closed, but we didn't mind. The bugs can get bad around this time so be sure to bring lots of after bite or spray. The food was ok- I would suggest sticking to the beach grill or th [... read more]e snack bar. The French restaurant was our favourite. We did two excursions- Land & Sea and the Sunset Catamaran. I would highly recommend both. A lot of great people and the staff are very friendly. Do not bother buying internet cards as you can barely get on and it really doesn't work. The night entertainment was awesome- do not miss the Michael Jackson show! Easy pick up and drop off from the airport- overall, great trip.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Not bad for the price

The beaches are amazing, especially Ensenachos. The food however is not good. One of my friends got sick while on the trip and the rooms are a little dated but overall nice stay. The entertainment staff is very nice and fun to talk to and most of them can get by with English.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Good for Cuba, best not the best

Hotel grounds nice, however not the cleanest. Service was slow and you had to get up to get your drinks. Food was okay, nothing special but good for Cuba. Best to go to the Buffet right when it opens to get it when its hot. Alla Carts were good. Italian was the best.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Iberostar Ensena Chos

we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The people were so friendly and willing to help in any way. Loved the beach. The food was wonderful and plenty of choices. The room was very clean and kept very nice each day. I would recommend this hotel to any of our friends.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Perfect Vacation

I will have to say that this has been the best resort that I have vacationed in,very clean,good food,friendly and pleasant staff, beach was absolutely beautiful, no rocks or shells, drinks were great and had great service the whole time we were there,and we enjoyed the clean,air conditioned gym every morning

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: We will be back, AMAZING resort!

We travelled May 16 to May 23, 2017. We were 1 adult and 3 kids aged 9, 15, 16 and all of us had a super vacation! The bus ride to the resort took about 1.5 hours however I thought it went by quickly. Our guide was great and they gave plenty of information about the towns we were driving through, hear some history and it gave the kids a chance to see how other schools and homes were. The only staff  [... read more]that I may suggest needed new positions at the resort were the 2 female servers in the snack bar area. Their English was not there, not even a little bit. It made it very hard to order food as it was not a buffet. All the other staff had fairly good English. The activities staff/Entertainment Staff were FANTASTIC with adults and kids! The resort is very large but kept very well. If anyone has mobility issues this resort may not be for you however the bell boys were super and they drive you around on golf carts if you need it. The food was great for Cuba, my 9 year old is a VERY picky eater and even she enjoyed the food she selected. We did bring some snack items just in case. The hotel didn't give facecloths, I am glad we brought our own. The room was clean and very modern. The house keepers were on their game for sure. We did have an issue with the shower head being kinda crappy but once we figured out how to use the handle part we had no further issues. The beach was super! It is a smaller beach especially when the tides are changing (every 6 hours) but it was stunning!! There was always chairs available and shade huts if you wanted them. We did some excursions...... The Catamaran tour was well worth the 89 CUC! It has 2 snorkelling stops, open bar, lunch, snack, dolphin interaction and show, and the crew were great! The jeep safari was fun but it did have moments that dragged on. The teens did the speed boat tour twice as they really enjoyed it or maybe cause they were able to drive the boats alone lol. We will be back, we had a super time!
