Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Resort

This resort is great. A little dated and could use some paint but rooms very clean, Staff absolutely amazing. Good good. A few shortages like eggs but they made due. Advice to bring your own coffee pods(nespresso) Beach is so stunning, no rocks. Smooth white sand and turquoise water. We had so much fun, ate well drank lots and made new friends with people and staff.

good average clean Hotel, wonderful ,friendly staff , nice ocean room, all what you need a lot of choice at the buffet , for breakfast ,lunch and dinner ,great drinks, Beer, Wine, Bar tasty Spanish Coffee Expresso, Mojito.... Snack Bar, Beach Bar beautiful, sandy Beach

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Nice resort

The resort was beautiful,the beach water was clean, the pool was nice, the Ladies who were cleaning the room were very friendly and nice, but the food was not good at all especially if you go with your kids, most of the waiters don't speak English,the dining area is full of flies, the dishes are not clean.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing resort!

Amazing resort! The location is wonderful! Love the beaches!! Service was good! Food may be need to improve a bit. Overall we had good time there! Thank you for everything! We would like to come back soon

Grand Memories Holguin: Beautiful Resort

This resort was beautiful. The grounds and gardens were nicely kept. Our room was spacious and very clean. Towels were changed every other day. The bed was very comfortable. Overall layout of the resort was good. Staff was very friendly. Pools were kept very clean. If it wasn't for the food shortages, I would rate this resort a 4 star.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: My home away from home !!

Many upgrades made around the resort , our room was in the tropical section , it was a good size with a great view and always kept very clean . Hotel staff are all amazing and go above and beyond to help you with your needs . I can't wait to return .

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful setting

Everything was clean, well kept, and staff were friendly and accommodating. However the situation in Cuba is definitely getting worse for the residents. Shortages are to be expected by visitors too, but there is no reason to complain. We had two days of no eggs for breakfast and there was no white wine for the entire stay. Many guests grumbled unnecessarily. This is Cuba today. Sit back, relax, enjoy what there is, and know you are helping their economy by tourism. We had a wonderful time.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Paradise

The hotel staff is amazing and go above and beyond. The management needs to work on safety for its staff. Staff are often working in unsafe conditions. Dancers forced to dance on floor in bare feet where a glass was broken instead of dancing on the stage. Several dancers got glass in their foot! The food this time was below par but the a la carts were delicious as always. Taking care that buffet food isn’t left out too long would be important. Thankfully we brought some from home. For thousands of dollars spent on a trip I expected toilet paper to be included.

Selectum Family Resort Varadero: Wonderful experience

Selectum resort is clean and most of facilities are new. people working there is kind and friendly. When we have troubles about the door lock, technician came to fix promptly. One thing not satisfied is the fruit from the buffet has only limited options and no apples, orange or bananas etc. I suggest the resort can increase the level of buffet and kids program. Overall it is very value of money for my stays.

Blau Varadero: Great resort

The hotel had beautiful rooms on the non ocean view side. The food at the A lcart restaurants was good considering it’s Cuba! The main buffet is typically busy and it’s important to get there early for a better selection of food. The grounds were well kept and they had hot dogs and burgers everyday at the beach bar no French fries though! Great chocolate and vanilla ice cream everyday.

The grounds are a slice of paradise. They provide a beautiful background to the exceptional service provide by the staff. The staff provide a welcoming but laid back vibe. This was our second visit and we will definitely return for visit three.

Melia Las Dunas: Absolutely Amazing Resort

All the staff are awesome and very friendly. They’re amazing as returned guest they always remember you . The grounds and very kept as gardeners working everyday. The Food is plentiful and you can always find something to eat. It’s not amazing but you’ll never go hungry. There was fish,chicken, pork,veal and beef every night with mashed potatoes and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Can’t wait to return in November ??????

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Nice Resort

The resort very clean, staff wonderful. There was no shortage of beach loungers either at the beach or pool. Food was good, had a variety at the buffet. The food was tasty and the restaurants were lovely and food was good.

Playa Pesquero: Amazing resort

The resort was massive! So much walking! Our experience was absolutely amazing! The first night we arrived at night, the room we were given was a bit far from the beach and it had a strong humidity smell; we told them about it and they accommodated us and switched our room to an absolutely great room closer to the beach and pool since we had 2 kids. The resort was super clean, the beach is absolutely wonderful, plenty of lounge chairs and space and the reefs for snorkeling was just an amazing ex [... read more]perience for the adults and the kids alike! The cleaning staff was just great, the friendliness of the staff in the restaurants, the entertainment staff was so great, we didn’t miss a show and the kids entertainment was so good the kids couldn’t wait for 8:30 every night to go to the show! They even have a daycare for the kids and the staff is absolutely wonderful! (via and Thalia!) my kids didn’t want to leave when I came to pick them up the 2 days they went! The doctors on site is wonderful, and the entire medical staff at the resort… the only thing I have is that the water kind of smelled and one day there was no bottled water - and that’s no fault of the resort, and the food isn’t really the best but thats a “Cuba” thing too and no fault of the resort… I cannot wait to go back! Totally recommend it!

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Our first 2 week vacation

We were very pleased with our room (garden view). It was large, clean with a comfortable king bed, great rainfall showerhead, water pressure and water temp great. The pools and beach were very nice along with staff, water toys - pedalboats which we used often and the hobi cat rides. All the staff every where wanted to please and did so! We travel to Cuba so we know about Cuba's economy, shortages and food situation so we keep our expectations in check. We found the food and desserts to be fine - hubby loved their rice pudding. The lobby bar served great spanish coffees, cappuccinos and cold beer, the staff were attentive and available making sure you had been served. The grounds are just beautiful, many guests commented on the immaculate grounds. We found a great deal and thought let's try 2 weeks and had an enjoyable stay. Dhawa did not disappoint.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Old Tired Resort

In general the room was very clean. Bath room faucet was extremely loose and in need of repair. Hand held shower needed to be replaced as water sprayed everywhere but from out of the head. Toilet ran constantly. We had cold water in the shower for days until we had to complain. In the dining hall and A-la-cartes, the waiter staff seemed slow and uninterested. Non of the public washrooms ever had toilet paper, so we always had to carry your own. I would suggest bring some with you from [... read more] home. Food shortages are very apparent. Out of 10 days we had eggs in the morning twice. Condiments were basically non-existent (jams, jellies, ketchup, mustard). Limited supply of fresh fruit. All A-la-carte restaurants were very good and the only place where wine was served. Only an orange flavoured pop was available, no cola for Rum and Coke drinks. The beach itself was beautiful as always, garbage collected daily. Beach service was great. Canadian dollars are now accepted for tipping. Staff will often ask to exchange loonies and toonies for paper Canadian money, as the banks in Cuba do not take coins. I would suggest you take a roll of loonies/toonies and paper money, you can always exchange paper bills for coins to continue tipping. *U.S.dollar is still king. I would not recommend going to this resort without purchacing the Diamond upgrade. This was are 5th time attending this same resort. Very noticeable increase in Russian guests. All guests were polite and there were no problems. When we first arrived there were house flies everywhere, I am talking flies of biblical proportion. Eating at this time was not pleasant, even on the beach. Peole would take their lunch to eat it, out into the water trying to escape the flies. We had crop dusting planes buzz over the resort for 3 to 4 days. Men with hand held fumigators spraying snack bars and tractors driving all over the resort spraying. This finally brought the plague of flies under control. We were told that the resorts had stopped incinerating their garbage. Not sure if this is due to the fuel shortage. I have no way of confirming if this was the cause but I was told that the locals need to line up for up to two days to get 1/2 tank of gas. Over all the resort was very tired and in need of repair. I was told that the management has been changed 3 times over the past year.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Resort is declining

This was our fourth trip to this resort. We went there twice before Covid and obsoletely fell in love with the resort. The grounds are lush and beautiful, it was quiet and peaceful, the food was great with lots of selection, the staff were friendly and attentive. Then Covid came. We returned last year knowing that things would not be the same but we were committed to the resort and its staff. We were right in our assumption and there was a definite reduction in food selection but not in quanti [... read more]ty. We were never hungry. The staff worked hard and everything else still seemed to be in place. However, upon this years return we noticed a remarkable change. The resort itself is definitely showing its age. We heard lots of complaints from other guests regarding the quality of the rooms and utilities. The food selection was even less than the previous year and the quality of the food had diminished as well. No French Fries, no Ketchup, no Salad Dressing, no potatoes, no Limes, no bananas and the list goes on. Certain things they would have one day and then not the next. We understand the issues that Cuba is having and i could get around the previous items noted. What i could not accept was the lack of service. This is not a country issue this is a resort issue. The service was horable compared to what it used to be. Let me be clear there are staff that still go over and above but it used to be all staff went over and above. We would literally be ignored at the pool restaurant and the Beach restaurant. One time after waiting 10 minutes at the Beach Restaurant my wife had to go up herself to get a menu and the waitress after seeing this still ignored us. This is something the resort itself can fix and it had better take notice and fix it if they have any inclination of staying a 5 star resort. I hope Melia pays attention to the reviews and acts upon them. This was a fantastic resort that i would have happily recommended to anyone. Unfortunately, not so much anymore.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Resort was great as usual

This is always a wonderful resort with great staff. The main pool was under construction, however they noise was kept to a minimum and they have two pools so that didn't pose a problem. Rooms are wonderful if you are on the plus side (club) with very comfortable beds. Food was what you expect with current geopolitical conditions. I did two weeks in November and two weeks in January and find at the end of the second week the same meals are repetitive, however you never go hungry. What might be la [... read more]cking in food variety is more than made up at beach, the most beautiful beach amongst the 4 resorts that share playa costa verde. Also, what makes this hotel is the staff. Again, my overall rating takes into account that this is Cuba in it's current situation of sanctions and shortages as a result of geopolitical situations out of their control

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Valentine el Patriarca

Medium size resort. Quite clean pretty good entertainment at night Excellent pool. Excellent coffee bar for liqueur in coffee Not impressed with food but Cuba is not a good place for good food Front desk staff spoke little English Habana and Veradero day trips were excellent. Overall for the price it is a good deal

Hotel Caracol: Great vacation

The Food was exceptional. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Beach is amazing. Tractor removes and washed up seaweed early every morning then beach is raked by hotel staff. Walk almost every day to neighbouring villages without fear. Staff and villagers very friendly
