Occidental Caribe: Loved this resort!

Cleanest beach on the strip. Multiple dining options for restaurants and buffets at every meal. Friendly/helful staff, I don't think I passed someone that didn't say hello. Consistent room service. I had a great time.

Barcelo Huatulco: Relaxation Achieved

The hotel was very nice, close to local shops and modern coffee shop (Ice Caps!) ALL staff were friendly and nice, saying hola to you and meaning it. 4 a la carte restaurants plus a buffet with a different themed night of dining were great and offered numerous options from the feint of heart to the adventurous.

Occidental Caribe: Amazingly beautiful

This resort was beautiful. All the staff were friendly and kind and very helpful. The ground were fantastic and easy to access. Food was phenomenonally delicious. Housekeeping was wonderful and the supplies were endless. Being my first experience flying and travelling to this beautiful resort is a experience of a lifetime plus Celebrating my birthday there was a fantastic and memorable time. Occidental Caribe: My favorite

All staff were extremely friendly, rooms were cleaned early, fresh towels everyday, food was excellent. I loved the French restaurant especially and my husband is always a fan of the Japanese restaurant and the entertainment they provide. The beach is my favorite place and amongst the best I've been to. I loved that everything was close such as our room was close proximity to the pool, buffet, stores and beach.

Barcelo Ixtapa: We loved the Barcelo!

Beautiful grounds, great food, comfortable beds, amazing people and beach - everything we could've wanted to make our week relaxing and fun! It was in the prefect location for long walks on the beach, a golf course across the street, an oxox right out the gate and a shopping plaza within a five minute walk with great food, cool tattoo shop, and yummy ice cream parlour.

Barcelo Karmina: Great Resort

Very close to the ocean, the ocean cove was a great amenity to have to actually swim in the ocean while it blocked high tides. The hotel was private, spacious and clean. The swimming pools were clean, and there were quite a few of them. The staff overall were very friendly, the evening entertainment shows were great, food was great and the tours available were good too.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful Vacation Spot!

Clean rooms, friendly staff, food in ala carte restaurants and buffet were very good. Huge selection of foods to please every palate, on buffet each meal one section for gluten free. Entertainment each night, although a couple of nights with a band for dancing would be great. We thoroughly enjoyed all the resort offered.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Wonderful time

This is an amazing resort, massive grounds, beautifully laid out with so much to do. Bring extra money because there are lots of fun things to do on the resort but some cost extra!! Wonderful resort!!

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Incredible resort

Food excellent. ..grounds immaculate..beach clean and gorgeous..staff friendly and accommodating! ! We spent a week at resort and loved it. Food plentiful and delicious..staff friendly and accommodating. .The hotel is absolutely beautiful and clean.

Had great time with girlfriends.,was an amazing beach,restaurants and food were also good.Great hotel for young adults during spring break!! Only complaint long waits for drinks at bar,bartenders were not really friendly.Would return to this hotel for sure!

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Beautiful resort

We stayed in the family suite and it was beautiful. The grounds were immaculate and the staff were really friendly. We tried several of the restaurants and enjoyed our meals at every one. We would love to go back for another visit!

Occidental Caribe: Barcelo, Punta Cana - Loved this resort

The resort was very, very nice. Grounds were beautiful and well kept. The resort was small and easy to walk to everything. If you were at the beach(where we spent all of our time) you could easily go back to your room to your own bathroom. The rooms in building 6 do need some updating but they were very clean. We met a couple that were staying in building 2 and their room was updated and very nice. The staff were extremely friendly in all areas of the hotel. Occidental Caribe: Great resort

Not sure why people wrote bad reviews about this resort.We just returned March 25th from Barcelo Punta Cana.The resort was awesome food good and the beach was one of the best.We have traveled to Cuba and Mexico and the Dr many times.I would return here next year.The staff was great also.Some of the rooms need upgraded yes but they are working on this.It takes time to do all these rooms.Our room was cleaned each day and fridge filled.

Occidental Caribe: I would go back to this hotel.

The only issue we had on this trip was with the Air Transat rep Emmanuel. We also spoke to another couple who were not our resort and they had the same compliant about their rep. Very rude...I would have to question whether or not I would fly with Air Transat again for this reason. Maybe being a rep is the worst job in DR. Occidental Caribe: Great resort but don't go in March!!

The hotel and beach was beautiful. DON'T GO IN MARCH. We just wanted a relaxing holiday, but got stuck with 1000 US college spring breakers. We needed a holiday from the holiday. We barely slept as the kept everyone up at night. Getting a drink was impossible, 1/2 hour line ups at the bars.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Big beautiful resort

3rd visit to this resort and would go back again. Been to others in the Mayan, this is our favourity. Food was really good. Lots of variety and presentation was really impressive. Rooms were clean and spacious. Landscaping and connecting pathways between resorts were really handy on the rainy days. Beach was great, but windy when we were there . We were told this was unusual for the first week of March. Chairs are very hard on the beach and around the pool, but extra towel solves that issue.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Wonderful week!

We are fresh from a trip to the Maya Beach Resort and we have nothing but good things to say! The complex itself is huge with many activities to do throughout the day and night. The access to the different hotels was great--we were never bored of the people or surroundings! The buildings and grounds were clean and well maintained--very modern! The food is excellent with lots of choice at the buffets. The staff were mostly all very friendly and accommodating. I suppose the only negative thing we  [... read more]could say is that our bags initially took a while to get to our rooms (so we just went back and grabbed them ourselves), our room did not get cleaned one day (had to go on a fresh towel hunt), and the hot water was out for about 12 hours one day. We are fairly laid back people so for us, this was small potatoes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this resort if you enjoy a more lively scene.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Medeioker

Poor service at restaurants and bar service even with tipping. We booked restaurants 2 weeks before arrival from recommendations from an on line review and not our travel agent. There weren't any reservations available upon arrival. $1000us resort credit totally misleading, it is a coupon for 10% or 25% off some services and shops. Free golf is also rediculous. $70US per person for mandatory cart. We took 4 sets of golf clubs with us and just the two adults did one round. It would have cost us $ [... read more]400 cancaian for our family to do a free round of golf. A lot of activities for the kids were not included and cost extra, bowling, water park. Front desk at checkin did not give us any info on resort activities, water, ect and the AT rep did not do this in his orientation, we were there a couple of days before finding the activities center. There 24 hours before we were told the tap water wasn't safe. No menus for specialty drinks at bars and the wine is absolute trash! White wine at one of the bars was actually cloudy and poured from a plastic jug. Even purchasing a bottle at the resturant would have cost $60 can. For a $12 bottle. Have to be at pool before 7 am to get a beach chair. For a trip that cost $10,000!!! I expected more!!!

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Amazing vacation !

The food was excellent with a lot of variety. There was a different theme every day of the week. The grounds are very well maintained and very easy to walk through from rooms to pools and beach area. Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great resort!

This resort was huge but catered to all age groups. We were 5 people,three adults and two teenage boys. The food was great as we had a chance to visit 5 à la carte restaurants. They were all very good. The beach was very windy (red flag all week) be you could still manage to swim in the beautiful crystal clear water. So many fun things to do (surf rider,bowling, shopping,pool animation, scuba,volley..) Not far from Tulum and Playa del Carmen. SOOO many activities!
