Melia Marina Varadero: Not a 5 star, even for Cuban standards
The good; We were room 1138, one floor off ground. This was nice since we were one floor above from the pool level and one floor level below the main lobby/buffet. The views from the lobby was great. You can see the marina well. Pool was big, the beach with the onsite restaurant included in the package as well as the beach bar. The beach was a safe 5 minute walk but the awesome golf cart driver would pick up and drop people from the lobby to the pool to the beach. The rooms all have [... read more]
Hotel Camino del Mar: problem
the hotel was good, and the big problem was the people working there, making a lots of nose and so on which i have to tell several time please 8. o'clock in the morning we are sleeping.2- the food not much chooses i couldn't believe it's not much things to choose.3- there they don't have disco at night to dance,it's first time i see a place has no place to dance.4- we had a lots of delay when we were there and especially when we return .we left the hotel at 6.pm and with all the delay we arrived i [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: great resort
Beautiful grounds, excellent beach, great service, very good food, great ala carte restaurants, grteat entertainment. I requested a foamie for the mattress and received a 3" egg carton foamie rioght away. :) My only complaint.... I noticed at the buffet the mesh type placemats and tables were never washed after customers. The crumbs were brushed away with the used dinner napkins and then the clean cutlery was set on the dirty placemat. The table and placemats should be wiped with a wet clean [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: clean and friendly
We have been travelling for 16 years every April and we finally found a resort that we loved and we were extremely comfortable in. The beach was amazingly beautiful and clean. the whole resort was supper clean, rooms and all. the staff was amazingly friendly they went out of their way to please the guesses. finally no vendors begging on the beach. the beach was a perfect walking distance and secluded. we loved it. keep up the good work. We also liked the fact that it seemed to be more of an old [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: We LOVED this place!
We have been to Cuba many times over the years and we both agreed that this was our favourite of all the resorts we have visited. We liked that it was a smaller resort so it was easy to navigate and we never experienced any long line-ups for food, drinks, etc. The food was really good! The buffet had a good selection, good quality; the 24-hour snack bar was very good; lunches at El Ranchon near the beach were very good - we really enjoyed their vegetable salad and hot-off-the-grill (literal [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Beautiful resort, great beach
The hotel is very nice, but huge. The buffet was super busy, the beach pizza place ran out every day. The staff were wonderful, the weather great. Love the beach, the pools. The ala carte dinners were good, not sure if I would return re soooo busy in spots, but would be fun with a large group, too busy for my liking. Loved flying out of Hamilton, so fast and easy.
Hotel Camino del Mar: Melia Cayo Guillermo - Great Resort
The staff are wonderful people, so helpful and kind. Resort is lovely with good variety of buffet offerings, a la cart restaurants and entertainment. We took the shuttle bus to an amazing beach Playa Pillar. Would go back without hesitation.
Melia Marina Varadero: Review Melia Marina Varadero
The hotel was mediocre and not as elegant as claimed. Why I am writing like that there is a reason which in my view is very valid. Bricks and mortar are not the only things that constitute the word hotel. People at reception, at bars, in bus service, eatery places, room service places and other numerous places. The hotel room was available at 3: 40 P.M.Hot water in Bathroom not available twice in morning for a shower. First-time towels were changed after a repeated request on the third day. The t [... read more]

Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing Resort!
We have been to Cuba several times but this was out first trip to Cayo Coco. We absolutely loved this resort. It was quite small (which we enjoyed), the best food we have ever experienced in our eight trips to Cuba. The staff were so incredibly friendly. The beach was beautiful. The resort, although a bit older, was very clean, very well laid out, had several bars, a la cartes and the buffet was superb! There is no swim up bar at this resort but the 24 hour snack bar was just adjacent to [... read more]
Hotel Camino del Mar: Paradise!
This resort was perfect for our group of 11, with ages ranging from 7 to 70. The staff were fantastic (shout out to Mary at the buffet!!). The beach was one of the best I've been too. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Melia Jardines del Rey: Very, very, very poor
The resort is to big to much walking, the toilet's water tank was leaking, we reported it and the maid reported it and they did not fix it. There was only one big towel and a small one for 2 persons. We had to ring the water out of the towels throughout the night ,so we did break our neck going to the bathroom, The food was terrible. So one thing is for sure I will never go back to Cayo Coco. I will not be recommending this place at all. We were there for a wedding and the beef at the wedding [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: More of the typical super R & R
This was our fourth visit to the Paradisus Rio de Oro and, as was the case in the three previous journeys a most memorable experience! The accommodations, food and remarkable staff are second to none. My wife and I are already looking forward to a return trip next year.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Great Time Had By Capers
My husband and I went on a 5 day trip. Absolutely amazing. There is something to say about a smaller resort. It's more personal. After one trip to the bar or restaurant they would remember your name and your beverage. Never was there any gratuity expected but VERY much appreciated. Relaxing atmosphere mostly, variety of ages from young couples with children to older couples with their grandchildren. Cuban food is Cuban food. You won't starve for sure. We took our Heinz ketchup and Parma cheese w [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Good
Very pretty resort but also very old they did not have any champagne until our last day the spa should have registered masseuse i’ve been to Varadero I believe Varadero is a nicer location closer to Havana and more things to see and do
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful Resort
We have been to Paradisus at least 6 times, and this last visit was a little disappointing. Our expectations are high as we have returned many times. This vacation was a bit of a let down. The Hotel has changed quite a bit. They are moving staff around so much and seem to have less staff than in the past. For example: We were there for 7 days and we only had our room cleaned 3 times. By the time we were coming in to clean up after the day for dinner we would have a knock on the door afte [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Amazing Resort
We were at the Melia Las Dunas March 23rd to March 30th. This resort was fantastic. I had read many reviews and was a little concerned about the negative ones, but we didn't see anything negative. Check in was a breeze, we arrived around 9 pm and it took about 10 mins to check in. They had us in the family section and we had requested adults only and they moved us with no problems. They had carts to take us to our rooms in building 49. Room was clean, we saw no bugs in our room, we always ha [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: Great vacation resort
This resort was very clean and the grounds were beautiful. The beach was clean and there was never a problem finding a hut or a chair. The people who worked at the beach were attentive and very pleasant. I have been to many resorts in Cuba and this resort was by far the cleanest. The beach was awesome.
Hotel Camino del Mar: Absolutely Wonderful Resort
Thoroughly enjoyed our week stay at the Melia Cayo Guillermo. This was my third visit to Cuba and I liked and would rank this resort and its food the best of the three resorts I've stayed in so far. Cuba and its people, atmosphere and weather is just so amazing and appreciated by me. Wish I could visit more often and for longer!
