Barcelo Maya Colonial: Beautiful Barcelo!!

Barcelo Maya Colonial and the other resorts included in your stay was absolutely beautiful!! The grounds are beautifully manicured and well taken care of....once in the resort area youll feel like your in paradise!! The beach and pools are second to none...the activities are endless...to the included watersports to the jetskis and parasailing you can indulge in for a small fee right at this resort!!! The food and drinks are top notch something for everyone!!! I really enjoyed my stay here as did my 15 year old son....we will definately be back to Barcelo Maya Colonial!! Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great Trip.

This resort is huge. We booked at Colonial but they put us at Tropical. This was a bit of a disappointment because we were there to meet friends for a wedding at Maya Beach (the furthest end of the resort). The Maya was the nicest because it was newly renovated. All 4 resorts were nice, but they definitely started upgrading at the Maya end and haven't finished yet. Food is great, again better selection at the Maya snd Caribe grills for lunch, but nothing is bad. Staff are good. Barcelo Maya Palace: Amazing resort

We have traveled a lot in the past and have gone to Mexico over 10 times. Mexico is always our destination of choice. This was our second time at this resort. The landscape at this resort is incredible. There was a lot of walking but how can you complain when you are walking in such beautiful scenery. We will more then likely return to this resort in the next couple of years with our family. This is an amazing place for families with children of all ages. Barcelo Maya Caribe: Beautiful resort. Very Clean.

Loved the resort. Rooms and resort very clean. Entertainment was good. Service very good. Only complaint I had was the food. Pretty much the same each day and not very hot. Food should be hot. Even when just filled with new food it was not hot; other than that it was great.... Definitely would go back.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Excellent resort

This was our second trip to this resort, that in itself says a lot. Fantastic food and drink service. Grounds, rooms and building were spotless. No signs of mosquitos :) Probably due to how clean the place is kept. People extremely friendly and helpful. Management available and helpful. Pool large and clean, lots of chairs and areas where you could stay at the pool but out of the sun, if you wanted to. Other activities, pool, tennis, golf, ping pong all close by . Occidental Caribe: Very clean and organized resort

The hotel and staff were great! Everything went fantastic. Great holiday. Highly recommended, rooms were very clean! Food was really good! The pools were always clean, people were friendly. Overall great trip!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: BARCELO COLONIAL

If you have your heart set on the Colonial, you could be disappointed. I had been to the Colonial twice before my recent vacation in March 2016. It would seen the hotel puts you in the Tropical instead the Colonial. I spoke to quite a few other people with the same story. The hotel insists they are all the same now with the exception of the Palace. When I booked my vacation there were price differences between the hotels (Tropical, Colonial, Beach and Caribe). Therefore, you could be paying more [... read more] (hundreds) and getting a cheaper priced hotel. I hope this practice is fixed quickly. It would prevent me from booking with Barceló in the future. The grounds and cleanliness are spectacular.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: we like the ocean there!

the food and service are OK. there were a few excellent people on staff but not all therefore we did not tip as much as usual. we are not to tip but you do not get the service at the bars or room drinks and food ( chips) unless you do.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Overpriced large resort without a personal feel.

Rained 5/7 days. Room smelled of mold and mildew. Staff "fixed" problem by adding an air freshener to the A/C, Helped a little. Hard to get good bar service unless we were waiving dollar bills at the bartenders. Resort was very large and we spent too much time walking between restaurants/our room/buffet/bar and beach. Price dropped by almost $2000 for our family and no help from tripcentral.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Wonderful place to chill!!

Had a gloriously relaxing time at the Barcelo Bavaro Princess Deluxe. The pools were large. Lots of chairs with sun or shade around the pool and tons at the beach. People reserved but there were also chairs that could be found and moved. The beach was amazing. You could walk for miles. The water was blue and calm. Food was great. We reserved at the restaurants online and there were no problems. Rib eye steak was delicious at the steakhouse. Loved the guacamole and salsa at the Mexican restaurant [... read more]. We always found delicious food at the buffet. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Service was slow but it didn't bother us because we were on vacation!!! We had a very relaxing chill time and would definitely go back.

Barcelo Maya Palace: What a incrediable resort!

This is a resort with immaculate kept grounds and gardens. If you are looking for a huge beautiful beach, and grounds that will take your breath away, this is the resort for you. The rooms are beautiful, the resturants are so special, the French was our favourite, and the service was top notch. The first day I asked room keeping to keep the fridge full of beer and water, only regular coffee, and that is all it took for them to remember for our ten days stay. Every part of this resort was top not [... read more]ch. The beach for swimming and snorkeling was wonderful. Lots of chairs, never a problem getting them and the bar service was always fast. If you enjoy walking, you can go for miles it seems, and if not the double decker bus can take you anywhere. If you stay at the Palace you can go to any resturant or any bar so there is always new places to see. The Dolphins were great to watch and swim with if you chose. The shopping mall was not a big deal to us, but could be to others. We would go back to this resort in a heartbeat!

Occidental Caribe: Its was ok food not good employees not freindly

Food not the best, long wait at beach bar (15 min), staff not very friendly, had to ask for beverage in buffet, was told could only book resteraunts daily and find out from other travellers they booked in advance. Wont go back or suggest to anyone

Occidental Caribe: Amazing resort

Everything about this resort is incredible. Great staff, the beach was impeccable, the rooms are beautiful, the grounds are imaculate.. there is really nothing to complain about when staying at the Barcelo Punta Cana!

Occidental Tamarindo: amazing resort

very nice resort with great people that work there and awesome food. thank you jorge for making our stay more memorable. there is alot to do on the resort with live music everyday and a relaxing atmosphere.

Occidental Caribe: Very nice resort!

Very large resort with 2 huge pools, beautiful beach that you can walk for miles on, excellent service by all staff, rooms are well kept with everything working and clean and most overlook the pool and ocean so view is great. Mixed drinks at the bar are horrible from a machine, they need to improve that, but the beer is good and cold so that works! I would definitely return to this resort!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: great resort with kids

We traveled with two toddlers, 16 months and 3 years old, so our experience reflects that. We generally liked this resort: -the beach was great, as were the pools with waterslides (our 3 year old loved them!) -the grounds were very large, so a lot of space to walk around However, a few things that could have been better: -the food was poorly labeled - being vegetarian, this was a problem -the entertainment started very late - again, this was a problem only because our kids went to bed around 8- [... read more]8:30pm, it would have been nice to see some sort of entertainment that they could enjoy a little earlier (e.g. live music in the lobby) -the shows in the theater were VERY loud - even after our kids were asleep in the stroller, we were hesitant to go watch it because of how loud it was.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Great beach, very clean hotel, friendly service

High rating on service, hotel staff, very clean.. excellent beach (probably one of the best with snorkelling and coral reef right there), nice rooms,.. what prevented 5 stars? steak at Brazil restaurant was served almost raw.. sent back and wasn't great. the wifi wasn't free and only one device at a time could be activated ($45US week), the air conditioner broke 3 different days. the arrival staff didn't give us any info on shows, activities, restaurants, big gym location, other amenities.. it' [... read more]s also 80 minutes from airport.. I stated at Royaton Hideaway in November and it was a superior hotel in every way. including drinks served on beach, hammocks on beach, lunch served at your table, not buffet, .. if you want the little extras, don't stay here.. if you are okay with these things, then it's a great plac..

Barcelo Karmina: Very Average

The pool areas were lovely. The food and drinks were very average. Wait staff was not very attentive with the exception of a few. Excellent meal at the Agave restaurant! The beach area was small. Not being able to walk along a long stretch of beach was disappointing. Rooms were very spacious and clean.

Occidental Caribe: Great time to be had!

The grounds are beautiful, and there are a variety of restaurants to have a la carte meals at for lunch and dinner. You will find something - food wise - that is to your liking. Rooms are comfortable, amenities were good. Only issue was the line ups at the bars - unfortunately US college reading week will cause line ups -and no designated area for free WiFi- this was disappointing, as all the resorts offer free WiFi for at least a limited time and at a designated area. I can understand paying if [... read more] you want it resort wide - although some resorts include it. Over all The Barcelo Punta Cana was a great place.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Wonderful resort

Staff were so welcoming and friendly, the food was fantastic including each buffet meal, and the special coffees were great! You did not have to get up at 5 to reserve a spot at the beach as there was plenty of room and recliners. Thumbs up to Air Transat staff as well.
